- Monique (7/5): - Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Lage ist gut, genau am Rand der Altstadt. Das Zimmer an sich ist recht hübsch eingerichtet. Es ist sehr laut im Zimmer, auch nachts. Man hat zwar doppelte Fenster für die Schallisolierung aber die helfen leider wenig.

- Sashi (2/5): Never staying there again! - Cleaning staff Checking in and reception staff unfriendly and uninviting!!! Check in was awful with the man continuously telling us of extra charges esp if we lost anything of the hotel! When we asked of breakfast or cafes for the morning he said nothing was around and we would have to go to the city or try the Seven Eleven. We recovered there were numerous excellent cafes next door and within 50mtrs. When asking for anything his favourite response was “No have”!!! Three of us and daily we were given three coffee sachets, three sugars and three creamers!! “No have” when we asked for more!!! Reception lobby was uninviting and staff continuously hung around busy playing on their phones. Never a greeting or pleasantries!! Entrance area was not clear or appealing and the slippery path with wet land was never cleaned. Shower head did not stay up and water was as intermittent!! Pic on site is old I could go on!!

- Richard (8/5): Big Tree Hotel - Good! - It was a nice quiet stay with I believe moderate to low occupancy during our stay. It was quiet to sleep which is most important and was a short BOLT ride into the old city attractions. Could be walked in under 10 minutes. A good value for the price and I would book a room again...

Cool Bar/Coffee shop(M.A.R.S. Cafe) not open on wed. No food in AM prior to 8:30 am that is close. Far enough away from markets to make it quiet. $8 cab ride to get were you want to be.

Big room, new everything, new shower facilities, new ac, location is between old center and nimman. Good coffee right in the lobby (it’s connected to famous Mars cafe), we lived almost along, didn’t hear any sounds and slept really well. The cleaning was so so (bed and towels are very clean, but corners behind the toilet had someone’s hairs, balcony does not have any chairs and dirty, we love sit on the balcony:(

We then got sent to another room and it again very dull and dirty. Wasn’t what we expected from photos on the website. We paid for this hotel upfront and had to wait 14 days for a refund which was a bit long winded. Wouldn’t personally recommend

The room was spacious, clean and equiped with a new a/c and big screen tv. On my first morning I went downstairs for breakfast and was told "the chef didn't come today". Never went back as there are nearby places to eat, but still... Disappointed.

Maybe not everyone’s taste. But I loved it. The coffee bar/lounge attracted (Mars) is also a very avant- guard design w amazing coffee and a very cool bar. Not a cheap place to drink but our bartender had some real skills For the money it was fantastic. Nothing really to complain about. Maybe that it was cooler than me :(

Chiang Mai city is incredibly polluted everywhere in the area due to being very overcrowded with cars!
- Alex (8/5): Very good - Very convenient location with loads of restaurants nearby. I recommend visiting Sense Garden Massage & Spa round the corner. I've had a lot of massages in Thailand, and this was one of the best I've had. The noise from the road was pretty loud. The hotel have done what they can to reduce it, but it was still very noticeable until around midnight when the traffic started to ease off a bit. The connected space-themed bar is interesting for a visit, but very over-priced - the prices are in the same range as some much nicer 5 star hotels in Chiang Mai.

The rooms balcony faced a busy main road which resulted in a lot of noise practically 24/7. The Aircon is also really loud which drowns out the road noise a bit but sleep was difficult.

- Anja (7/5): Good - The rooms are spacious and you have everything you need. Staff is helpful and forthcoming if you have questions. The hotel is situated very close to the centre. Don't take the breakfast. It is served in the mars bar next to the hotel and you will get spaghetti carbonara for example. Also the cleanliness of the rooms was not on point. We found socks from someone else in a drawer and a straw on the floor. After telling the staff they offered cleaning the room again though.

There was construction that was loud in the middle of the night, not only loud but effecting the wifi. As a sorry, the staff gave us a “complimentary drink and dessert”, assuming that would be used in the evening. We could not use the drink at the bar, only cafe. We were then told the cafe would open at 8am, which is exactly when we had to go to the airport, when went down in the morning the cafe was actually open at 8:30. Kind gesture but didn’t work well.

No water and shampoo refilled for the second day.nobody in the reception.there are construction outside and cannot sleep well the whole night.

Some places in Thailand not, and this could be problematic. Here is fresh. I recommend it. I need to fix safe on my own because owner said that he cannot do it because main board is broken. It was only electrical connection to fix. From pipe shaft you can Hear music from bar below, but if you close door to bathroom and put some towel on shaft doors you almost not Hear it. Those are small things, but place is very good and high quality.

- Megan (8/5): FRIENDLY STAFF, COMFORTABLE STAY - The staff were wonderful, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very hearty and tasty. The location is on the west side of the old city, a but far from the daily night market and saturday night market but transportation is cheap. It was ideal for us as we rented a car one day and a scooter another day, and the hotel has free parking available. The only negative was due to the fact that there were small renovations being done, which did not affect our stay. The room was a good size, clean, bottled water every day, however it could use some upgrades and fine tuning. Overall, I would stay here again.

Breakfast was very nice in the morning and glad for all the bottles of water in the room/refrigerator. Only small wish- better mirror and light in the bathroom. Very clean and was grateful the staff could accommodate us for an extra night at the last minute.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help you. We were impressed with the delicious breakfast served each morning. This hotel is in the prime location- not too far from the airport and a short walk away from Old City. A truly wonderful stay.
- Raphaela (8/5): My experience in Big Tree Boutique - The room make up were not so good, the wifi did not worked. The hotel could not ask a taxi for airport for us. But the location was very good and the breakfast was good too.
- thomas (10/5): An excellent hotel for staying I the old city. - The hotel is within a pleasant walk to all parts of the old city. There are very good restaurants and food places close by. The noodle shop next door is actually part of the hotel and although only open until mid afternoon is excellent. The hotel faces the peripheral road around the old city but the traffic noise does not intrude. The hotel staff were friendly and engaging, tours could be booked through the hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel in the old city - The room was maintained clean.and I was not worried about security. Breakfast was also good. Bicycle was borrowed for free and I went to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep on the mountain with mountain bike.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel, great location for touring old city - The staff was awesome, very helpful and kind. Enjoyed the breakfast too, eggs made to order, you even had the option of getting a piece of bacon. The hotel is getting older, but overall we found it clean and enjoyed our stay.
