Being unable to open a bottle of wine , pronounce the names , serve the wine and present a bill should be easy fodder Reception tried hard to please us and were attentive. Everything seemed focused on weddings and the wedding guests keep you up chatting outside late . Get a room off the front for peace and quiet
• julie (6/5): convenient, clean and comfortable - It was ok and clean and comfortable, I was hoping that there would be food available or room service but not during the day, plenty of parking and was quiet, I would recommend for a short stay as convenient for Salisbury and surrounding area. the room was a good size.

• Susan (10/5): The Stones Hotel - a great place to stay - We had a 3 night stay at The Stones Hotel Salisbury. The Receptionist Angelina (I think) weekend 13 - 15 July - was excellent She had a sincere smile. She was professional and very helpful. It was extremely hot and she arranged for a fan to be provided. A very pleasany lady. The Executive Double room is roomy with a fabulous large bed with very comfortable quality cotton bedding. The bathroom is a nice size with a large walk in shower cubicle. The overhead rain shower is powerful and large with an alternative hand shower all very simple to use. We were visiting friends who insisted we eat with them so we cannot comment on the restaurant or the food but the menu is extensive. All in all a very nice place to stay and we will return in the future.

Alot of noise from outside in the morning and some drunken fool making alot of ruckus late at night with his shouting Shower was nice but limited on the temperature. Located on a main road with petrol station close by. Staff were friendly and welcoming
• Michelle (6/5): - Staff was nice enough. Dinner in the restaurant was meh for the pricing. Ordered a steak and kidney pie. What we got was a mushy gravy in the crust. Didn’t eat any but they wanted to charge us for it anyway. Otherwise it’s a clean hotel.
• Mike (6/5): - I've stayed here many times over the years, nothing much has changed since my last visit, the rooms, food and most of the staff are good, however on this occasion I had an issue with my door access lock, one evening I couldn't gain access to my room, unfortunately the person in charge didn't handle the situation well, she clearly doesn't have any hospitality experience or customer facing skills, she eventually got the manager in from home and they did manage to open the door before a locksmith was going to be called, I didn't get any apology for having to wait an hour when I needed to get to bed. As I've mentioned before, this place could be very good if the right management were in charge.

• Allison (8/5): The Stones - This is our forth stay at the Stones, nice hotel, staff are very friendly, bar area is comfortable. I do wonder why when most people share a room they only put one chair in them ? Also a few polite notices in the hall ways to remind other guests to be quiet when walking past the rooms ? That said we would recommend this hotel.

• Kelera (8/5): - Nice clean, comfortable room. The sound of doors being opened/closed outside in the corridor seems extra loud for some reason. Maybe it’s just where my room was situated but yeah. Found it hard to sleep with all the clicking and closing of doors.

• Robert (10/5): - Have stayed at hotel before. The staff are very friendly professional and helpful, this was one of the reasons for booking again. Plenty of on site parking. We will use the hotel again.
• Carly (6/5): - The hotel is pleasant and is in a great location. The rooms were basic but clean. On arrival the member of staff on reception didn’t have a lot of knowledge when being asked questions. Breakfast times as one example and had to go and find out. Perfectly polite but just not very informative or seemed confident in her role. Breakfast on our first morning was a little strange being asked what we wanted to eat before we’d even sat down. The bacon had a funny after taste and the mushrooms were from a can and not very nice. We didnt have breakfast there again and wish we had t spent the morning on the one for the first morning and gone elsewhere. When asking for a drink from the bar at 2pm with our group of friends I had to ask the person on reception as there was no one at the bar and I was told that it was not possible as there was nobody from catering to serve us. She did then attempt a coffee for two of us and we had to send one back as it tasted like burnt milk. We also were made to feel like we were just an inconvenience even asking for a drink. All in all there just weren’t enough staff and one person on duty for the entire hotel lounge, bar, restaurant, just wasn’t enough. Such a shame as it has so much potential.

• Edoardo (2/5): Noisy rooms, no soundproofing - I asked for a quiet room as I was in a business trip. But next door was noisy at night and being lound. I tried to reach the reception from midnight to 1am in the morning. No one was there. Basically you can do whatever you want at night and no one can help.

• Lorena (10/5): Amazing service. - The hotel is really nice, but the people working there are AMAZING. The two girls at the reception were so lovely and helpful (I think one was called Kelsey, sorry! I’m terrible with names). Check in and check out on point and when we asked for some towels we got them in minutes. I recommend this place without any doubt.
• Ian (4/5): - This place reeks of "owned by foreign conglomerate which only vaguely understands how a hotel should operate and has little to no direct oversight of day to day management." I've never regretted a hotel choice so quickly in 15 years. They advertise themselves as some kind of country hotel with a bar and restaurant, but both were completely dead at 1700. The one receptionist was also the bartender. 6 quid for a pint, which felt really overpriced given the rest of my experience. No outdoor area to drink and smoke, so the receptionist said I could use the large patio out back... which was unlit and only accessible through a maze of corridors with automatic lighting and then a fire exit. After all that I just skipped everything else and went to my room to watch the large smart TV in bed. The next morning, reality set in. I saw the showerhead was extremely corroded. When I turned the pressure on, the 12" diameter showerhead FELL OFF, missing my head by inches. So I tried to make a coffee to wind down from that only to see the kettle was extremely corroded with residue in the bottom that looked months old. Complained to front desk and got swapped to another room across the hall, but they coded the key card wrong. So I had to trek the 100 yards back to the desk with all my gear to get that fixed. In the new room the kettle was also filthy. And it didn't have a smart TV. They did refund my first night, but I am just so genuinely perplexed and annoyed by the entire affair.

• Lester (8/5): Nice room, well equipped a bit cold - Rooms are nice and well equipped but is a bit cold also situated on a main road traffic noises quite loud.
• Isabelle (8/5): - Room facilities were good although lighting could be improved, ie bedside lights are not good for reading in bed. Bed themselves are very comfortable. I really like the bathroom facilities and lovely big towels.
• Dominick (4/5): - We booked an executive double. The room we got was completely substandard. The overhead shower was broken, the window was cracked, the window didn't shut properly, the blind was broken, the floor strip between the bedroom and bathroom was loose with screws sticking up, the hand soap pump didn't work, there was no loo roll holder. On top of this, because the blind was broken, we didn't see that the window was open when we arrived, with a flat roof outside connecting multiple other rooms. This is a huge security risk, especially when the window is broken. Additionally, the room was by the kitchen and it was super noisy; sounded like a generator turning on and off every few minutes. In the morning, when we went to discuss with reception, they confirmed we weren't even in an executive room. While I am grateful we were moved to a better room for out second night, we shouldn't have been in a basic room to begin with and the room was totally unsuited to having people stay in it anyway. I will not be reusing.

Either email or twice on reception when checking in and asking question about other information. The light on mirror wouldn’t switch off ,which shown into the room. Very noisy in the room as next to main road, better windows would have helped. Disappointed for the price
• Robert (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. Spacious room. Plenty of parking. Down sides, restaurant was closed for a function, we did not know until arriving at check in desk. This did not impact us this time but may impact others. Hotel is out of Salisbury town centre, but there are bus stops very close to the hotel . Buses are frequent and very reasonable. This makes the hotel accessible to town. Would I use the hotel again? - Yes

• Jack (4/5): - I stayed at your hotel from Friday 13th September to Sunday 15th September and didn’t enjoy my stay. Firstly, I payed £200 for a twin room. There was mugs, coffee and tea yet no kettle to boil water. I had to ask at reception for a kettle and when it was delivered to my room I was told that I hadn’t paid for the room, I then showed the lady my bank statement and confirmed I had paid on my Friday arrival. She had told me that she would go check but if there was an issue with payment, why wasn’t it outlined when I arrived and paid because it had been withdrawn from my bank account. As well as this, I went to have a shower on the Saturday morning before I had to go out for the day and with shampoo and shower gel already applied, the shower cut off. I had to wipe off the shampoo and shower gel with a towel and then the shower didn’t work for another 30 minutes as well as the tap in the bathroom. In addition, I was asleep in my room on the Saturday night and was woken up at 01:00AM on the Sunday by two women entering the room, they had been given a key to the room but they had quickly turned around as soon as they realised somebody was occupying the room, this made me feel very uncomfortable with the safety of the hotel and when I called reception about this, I was told that it had been sorted, which didn’t put my mind at ease. I expected better from a hotel with mostly positive reviews but I’m very disappointed with my two night stay and especially with the amount I’ve paid f

• Mike (8/5): - I stay here several times a year as the location is perfect for my place of work, and I make use of the small but adequate gym, the hotel is making progress since its takeover, the menu has changed and there is a nice selection and choice, I do sometimes still encounter a mix up with my bill or room type, but these are always rectified by the helpful staff. I do hope the hotel continues to improve as its generally a pleasant place to stay.

• Jean (8/5): - Pleasant check-in staff. Clean twin room. Television didn’t work, a lo g wait for help but it was Saturday night. Would have liked shower- cap, tissues in the bathromm or available at desk. At the price, a basic continental breakfast should be included.
• Clive (8/5): Enjoyable stay - It was second stay at the hotel and whilst it wasn’t quite as good as the first visit it was very enjoyable and relaxed stay. The main issue was televisions, the first room the tv didn’t work properly, the second the tv didn’t work at all, the third room was a twin room not a double fortunately the fourth room was perfect and due to the problems we had the duty manager offered us 50%off our evening meal which we gladly accepted and it was very good.

• Angela (8/5): Great stay for Stonehenge - Stay was lovely, however there was a school prom one night followed by a wedding the next. Although it was lovely to see the promers arriving, it was directly outside our ground floor room which meant having to close curtains early to avoid being on show. Wedding also meant we couldn’t use the restaurant and limited parking, again, not a huge problem, would have just been nice to know about these events before our stay. Overall lovely stay and great staff. Thank you.
• Carol (6/5): - Lots of niggles with room. Couldn’t get cold water out of washbasins mixer tap, only hot and warm. At bedtime I had to go to reception and ask for a bottle of cold so I could have some to drink after giving up on the mixer tap. Also toilet roll holder wonky so roll kept falling of. Lampshade very lose and wobbly. Just seemed like no attention to detail
• Susan (10/5): Great Staff Welcoming friendly. Thanks - Exec room needed 2 comfy chairs and a table. TV did not swivel.Door closers noisy, clunk bang from 6 am in the morning. No air con so if the weather is hot an option of opening the window is a choice of traffic noise or heat. Did not eat in the restaurant as the menu looked very average, A whole side dedicated to Mac (what ever that is).

• Colin (10/5): Weekend Business Stay - Hotel was easy to find. Once inside the staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Room was a bit minimal but had everything you needed. Lovely bathroom and great shower. Food was amazing - although I left too early for breakfast on both mornings, it smelt lovely! View from my window was lovely to wake up to - I was on the side overlooking the fields, not the road out the front! If I were in the area again, I would definitely stay here.

• James (8/5): - There were a few niggles in my room, but nothing drastic, hence the 4 stars in areas. But the team working, especially when we checked in, were friendly and helpful. The road was quite close to my room, but I couldn't really hear it, so didn't disturb me at all. And travelling for work, often in a truck, it's not always easy to find somewhere that can accommodate this, but The Stones have a massive car park, so this was a huge plus.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable nights stay - Checked in fairly late, receptionist was friendly and polite. Hotel was very quiet. Room was comfortable and clean although the shower tray had someone else's hair still around it and was not very clean. Bathroom was a good size with and nicely done. Decent sized shower cubicle but the water was far too hot and took ages to get it to cool down, the shower rail was very wobbly and falling off the wall. The beds were nice and comfortable and black out curtains were good. The breakfast was average and the kitchen/waiter staff were friendly. We only stayed here to attend a family event, but would probably stay again if needed.

Main shower head didn't work fully, and lots of damaged paintwork visable. Breakfast was not a option as didn't start until 8. When I had to check out at 7:30
• Mike (8/5): - I’ve left several reviews for this hotel, the main issue I always find is the lack of staff at busier times, I spoke to one member who was in charge of the reception, bar and restaurant, this is fine if the hotel is very quiet but not so good when busy. Rooms are great though, fairly limited breakfast but enough for my needs.

The check in was disastrous, the service in the restaurant was poor and on our anniversary night the restaurant was closed for a wedding!! As there were no other restaurants within walking distance we went to the garage nextdoor for some sandwiches. Great way to spend your anniversary!!!

• Verified traveler (8/5): Personal space not respected - I booked a room for 3 nights. I didn't like the fact the staff helped themselves into the room for cleaning without permission. Surely they should know who has booked in for a few nights and a consent should be confirmed if customers wanted their rooms cleaned when they are out of the rooms. No phones connected to reception.

• Rebecca (8/5): Very respectful and compassionate team - I booked the hotel on behalf of my parents over the Christmas period. The staff could not have been more helpful.My folks asked to move room twice (new mattress was too firm in the first one and the shower ' didn't work' in the second). Turns out my folks were not quite understanding the way the controls on the shower worked but rather than explain (again) the manager moved them. He was keen that they were shown respect and not embarrassed by their lack of understanding, so never knew it was their fault. Well done team! And thank you!
• peter (10/5): - Our room was very modern and clean bed was so comfy ,for what we paid for 1 night was very good value
• Verified traveler (4/5): Not a fan, noisy road, poor food choices - The window glazing is not suitable enough to block the sound from the very busy road outside. The bathroom light would not turn off so was on all night. The restaurant was ill prepared to cater for people with gluten allergies, I was told that the potato tots were gluten free but upon eating them it was apparent that they had been cooked in the same fryer as gluten containing items as I had a reaction to them which added to the uncomfortable nights sleep.
• Lance (8/5): Economy at a price near Stonehenge. - Seemed like a good choice for visiting Stonehenge. However, without a car, it was a bit in the sticks. But it was an economical choice, even with the 13 pound charge from the train station. The other issue I had, and raised with the staff was, without any businesses around the hotel other than a gas station, there should have been some accommodation for purchasing sundries. Also, there was no other choice than ordering a full breakfast, as I asked to buy just tea and toast, which wasn't possible. This, added to the fact that there was no ability to make coffee or tea in our room. This was a real shortcoming by the hotel, and I told them so.
• Vince (6/5): - Room was clean but stifflinly hot and the windows only opened a couple of cms , it stayed hot all night. It is a cashless hotel. We ate and drank at a nearby pub as we prefer to support businesses that give customers the option of cash or card.
• Robin (10/5): - Very relaxing atmosphere.
• Andrew (10/5): - I liked the stones Hotel, I shall be booking again in the near future for a skydive down the road from the hotel. The price was reasonable for the night, price of breakfast the next day exceptable. I didnt like the eggs I know all chefs are different but its not how I would cook big batch of scrabbled eggs, glad im not lactose intolerable.
• BRIAN (10/5): excellent place to stay - Just e-mailed the hotel to thank them for a brilliant stay, good atmosphere around the place and would still be there if i didnt have to come back home. Thought the bed was comfy and the shower was awesome really. Bar served my favourite beer so bonus all round. Definitely will stay again , sooner the better really.
• Dominic (8/5): ! Night Stay - Staff were very good, but the whole place is in need of a spruce up. Nothing wrong just tired décor, would of been very nice when new as very stylish design.
• Sammy (8/5): - The Stones is a great hotel which is very clean and tidy. The staff I think are great, and our check in on the 8th July was quick and simple. We booked for dinner and that’s where it went wrong for us. The starter of potato skins weren’t the best we’ve ever had and for £7.50, not value for money! The linguine my wife and I had was tasty, my wife’s cousin had the pizza, which was average and her husband the rib eye, again good. The young girls left to run the restaurant struggled with basic duties in our opinion, none their fault as my wife and I have about 70 plus years combined in hospitality, with myself having 20 years as an Area Manager for pubs and dining within that 70 years. We may know a bit! We believe that lack of training and any leadership whilst they were on duty, made our experience challenging and the team having to keep us as customers were also challenged! All the above said. We can’t praise Natalia, Jessica or Shaun, who despite being on there own. Did the best they could and will be great at the job if they get some proper training and support.
• Mike (8/5): - Used to stay here before being taken over, there was plenty of staff and a great atmosphere. Unfortunately- since the takeover there is very little staff, overall the place is fine, but not the same as it was.
• Kevin (10/5): - The hotel is really but for the only problem seemed to be at where the room i stay was really hot with no air conditioning, i could there used to be air conditioning covered over with a bitbof wood.
• Mark (2/5): Not for me - Room 205, I could only get boiling hot water out the shower, the guy on reception said he had fixed it whilst I was out but then in the morning it was still the same. No remote for the TV I was offered one but would have had to bring it back to reception before 9am. The bin in the bathroom was still full of rubbish from previous guest. Don’t take this room if you aren’t tiny as you will struggle sitting on the toilet it has been squeezed into a tiny space not very comfortable and I’m not huge.
• Paul (2/5): Oh dear. Much improvement needed - Hotel from ground floor was ok and quite modern looking. Rooms unfortunately were dated, incredibly hot (no air con), rock hard mattresses. Breakfast wasn’t much better with the coffee machine dishing out milk with a tiny dash of coffee making the most undrinksble coffee I’ve ever tasted. Luckily there’s a garage next door serving coffees.

• Michael Edward (6/5): - As a disabled traveller i was disappointed that there were no disabled parking bays close to reception. There was a motoring event on in the car park and i had to park in a field some distance away.
• Lorna (6/5): - The hotel has nice common areas and the staff were lovely and helpful. I wasn't super impressed with my room. Considering the price of the rooms, it was small and had cracks all over the walls and was in need of upgrade. You could hear everyone outside of the room and it was unbearably hot, even with both windows open. It was not a particularly warm night outside so I'm not sure how the heat was so intense in the room. The restaurant is not open on weekends or bank holidays so we were unable to dine in which was disappointing but there is a lovely pub down the road. I would recommend the hotel on deal but I think for the high price point it needs an upgrade.
• Thomas (8/5): Good hotel - Difficulty with getting the room key to work - Four different keys! Plus no TV in the room until I requested one. Overall nice hotel but should be slightly better than it is. Not enough staff on the evening I stayed
