We loved having the balcony which was perfect for breakfast or an early evening glass of wine. We slept really well in the very comfy bed. It was difficult to find when we first arrived in the dark.

• Christiane (4/5): Lage und Größe super, sonst eher enttäuschend - Das Apartment liegt sehr zentral. Nach ein paar Gehminuten ist man mitten im historischen Zentrum. Auch die Größe des Apartments ist super. Wir hatten zwei Balkone, Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer, Küche und Bad..alles wie beschrieben. Die Straße ist eng und schmal. Zum Glück waren wir ohne Auto.Wir haben oft abends auf dem Balkon gesessen und einfach das sizilianische Leben genossen. Man ist mittendrin, laute Musik, lautes Gerede der Italiener. Das fanden wir klasse.Abends dagegen, dann tatsächlich Ruhe, auch wegen der gut abgedichteten Fenster. Störend empfand ich nur den permanenten Geruch von Essen und das extrem laute Gegurre von Tauben aus dem Hof. Wir hatten das Apartment auch wegen der vorhanden Waschmaschine gebucht, die befand sich zwar nicht im Apartment, aber das war kein Problem. Zum Waschen war alles vorhanden. Auch die Heizung funktioniert prima.Zur Begrüßung gab es im Kühlschrank Wasser und einen Aperitif. Danke dafür. Ich bin in Bewertungen immer sehr fair und eigentlich auch immer sehr wohlwollend,weil ich es nicht mit einem deutschen Standard vergleiche, sondern den regionalen Bedingungen anpassen kann. Hier muss ich allerdings sagen, dass der erste Eindruck sich leider nicht bestätigt hat. Zunächst war ich von der Größe und Lage echt begeistert, jedoch nach der ersten Nacht und beim näheren Hinsehen doch ziemlich erstaunt. Im Schlafzimmer befindet sich so was wie ein Hängeboden, der aufgrund seiner Tiefe nicht einsehbar ist, wir fanden allerdings am letzten Tag heraus, dass sich oben an der Wand ein Fenster befindet, welches offen stand, daher auch dieses laute Gegurre der Tauben. Okay, was nicht geht ist Schimmel und davon gab es im Bad reichlich. Die Küche ist ziemlich lieblos und auch sehr dürftig ausgestattet. Eine Kaffeemaschine für eine Tasse und ein mini Wasserkocher sind vorhanden, der Backofen allerdings nicht. Die Bewertung ist auch nur so enttäuschend durch den Schimmel, den Zustand der Küche und dieses eigenartige offenstehende Fenster. Die Beschreibung richtet sich ausschließlich auf das Apartment eins. Wir hatten bereits viele Apartments in Italien, daher kann ich es gut vergleichen. Vielleicht ist es in anderen Apartments besser. Sorry.

• Anne (10/5): - We stayed here for four nights as two friends visiting Palermo, and we absolutely loved the apartment. It is located at the very top of the building, which makes it feel quiet and spacious. The apartment itself is clean, bright, and roomy, with a comfortable bedroom and a nice, well-functioning bathroom. There is also a lovely small balcony connected to the bedroom, overlooking a charming little street. The highlight of the stay was without a doubt the large terrace. We spent every morning there, enjoying coffee and breakfast while taking in the beautiful view over Palermo’s rooftops, a church tower, and a dome. It was simply wonderful. The photos honestly don’t do the apartment or the terrace justice. It’s even better in real life. We feel very lucky to have found this apartment as it truly made our stay in Palermo extra special. The location is perfect. It is situated on a quiet street right between the historic center and Kalsa, with plenty of great restaurants, cafés, and bars nearby. Ignazio was an excellent host: friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit Palermo.

Einige anderen Bewertungen auf booking.com haben die Straße, in der sich die Unterkunft befindet, eher kritisch beschrieben - das empfand ich nicht so. Eine "ganz normale" süditalienische Innenstadt-Gasse nach meinem Empfinden. Natürlich ganz anders als in Österreich/ Deutschland, aber überhaupt nicht "schlecht" oder gar "beängstigend". Ich fand sie sogar sehr charmant.

It was only 50 yards off of via Mercato, the main restaurant and shopping street in Palermo. The owner and I had a slight disagreement on booking dates which was resolved in my favor.

• Michael (7/5): Central Palermo block of apartments - Clean apartment within dedicated apartment block fitted out for short stay breaks in hot weather in central Palermo. Peaceful in the evenings and at night. Access to main sights, main station and marina all within walking distance. Efforts to organise recycling of household rubbish should be applauded. Chilly in autumn months (stone floors throughout) before heating is switched on. First floor apartment in narrow streets is gloomy even during daylight hours. Some ten years after the building's refurbishment, the plumbing and bathroom fixtures and fittings are in need of attention. Check the apartment's location against your needs, if you plan to stay for more than a few days. Nearest stores belong to street vendors selling tourist ware: nearest panificio is some distance away.
• Wendy (10/5): Amazing Italian Apartment in Palermo - Well located from the central train station and located in a the historical centre. Fully appointed one bedroom apartment with balcony. Great bathroom ( great shower) and well appointed kitchen. Check in was easy and the manager was always available for suggestions. He recommend a few amazing restaurants which we tried- they were fantastic! And served Sicilian food. Lots of little extras like coffee, tea, breakfast croissants for day one. We felt like we were going experiencing life as a Sicilian!

• Ola_E (10/5): Great place to stay in Palermo - My wife and I visited Palermo in mid-October 2025. We stayed at Guascone Apartments which is very centrally located in the city The whole stay was positive from start to finish. (Apart from a heavy rain day the first night) The apartment we rented was on the second floor. Very positive that there is an elevator in the building which is nice when you have tired legs after walking around the city all day. Upon arrival, the host Ignazio met us on site. He was very nice and informative. The apartment was very tidy and clean and the small kitchen was well equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave, kettle and all the kitchen utensils you need to handle a breakfast. There was also a small balcony with two chairs and a table where you can enjoy a cup of coffee. Ignazio also gave us tips on restaurants nearby that we could visit. The small street where the apartment is located is a bit rough but with a short walk you get to Via Maqueda which is lively and has a lot of restaurants. I definitely recommend renting an apartment at Guascone Apartments when visiting Palermo. I can't think of anything negative
• Franssen (9/5): We are pleased to have been in Palermo. - Very good location, near to the center of Palermo, many facilities right around the corner. Quiet, too! The outside view is as could be expected, not so much to see except for the similar neighboring surroundings. From the description, the pictures did show rooftop with a good view of the surroundings, we didn't have access to the rooftop, which may well, admittedly, due to our not having fully read the description. It did not, however, greatly affect the enjoyment of our stay in Palermo, as we went outside a lot!

It has an elevator which was great. Ignacio arranged transportation at a reasonable cost back to the airport. I couldn’t have been happier with the accommodation !!!! We spent breakfast and evenings on the quiet, large and comfortable terrace, so much so that we even cooked at home one evening to make the most of chilling there. As we were travelling for a few weeks, we really appreciated the opportunity to use the washing machine and ironing facilities. We looked for accommodation that was walkable from the train station and walkable to Palermo's top sights. The apartment delivered. The apartment itself is spacious, stylish and comfortable. The bed is large and comfortable while the shower is hot and powerful. Ignazio manages the properties as a business - professionally and well. We wish him every success. Well deserved. It's true that the apartments' environs are not ideal but the flat is SO convenient for the sights of Palermo that the entrance to the street can be forgiven.

Also, the place is very close to major, important historic sites of Palermo. Also, not far from the sea and from many interesting restaurants, markets ans cafés. We liked everything; the kitchen was fine but it could definitely have a few more comfortable items (glasses for wine, the owners provided us after asking with a good citrus press for the [awesome] lemons and oranges you find in Sicily). All in all, it was a very comfortable place.

The apartment looked exactly like on the photos, was clean and really well-kept. The location was perfect, everything we needed was within walking distance. Can't wait to stay here again! -

The apartment was very comfortable and a great base for exploring Palermo and beyond. Ignacio, the host, was super communicative throughout and always happy to help. The kitchen was a little small but fine for cooking simple meals. The air conditioning was working but only just coping. I think it is now going to be fixed.

The best part was the balcony to sit out on for a drink at night. Great situation for food and drink in a friendly neighbourhood and a walkable distance to central Palermo The bed was made of 2 singles pushed together and there was always a gap to feel like you were going to fall down. The bathroom was a little tired with plaster dust coming off the wall and blackened grouting in the shower

There are more restaurants than you could ever try within a half mile radius. If you like to walk, there is no need to rent a car. We walked to the botanic garden, Teatro Massimo, and the cathedral. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is very small with room for only one person, but it was functional.

Very responsive host. - The location was amazing but more so, the way the owner has remodelled this older apartment to turn it into a snazzy , cool and elegant place to come home to. Bravo! I liked the washing and cleaning room downstairs, equipped with iron and vacuum cleaner and drying racks to use when needed. OH And I need to mention the AMAZING quality of the door-windows, which cut out ALL the street sounds! Furthermore, the climatization works very well and has an ionizer option which is lovely as it "lightens" the air. The shower hot water was unstable, and sometimes did not last warm long enough for the second person to shower (with warm water). this was unpleasant and was a little challenge every evening.

• Mark (9/5): Superb - This is very tastefully decorated, well appointed small apartment, perfect for a couple or solo traveller. And, not least, the apartment building is blessed with an elevator!! I never met my host, but was provided with timely and explicitly accurate info on how to access the apartment. It is surrounded by places to eat, drink and shop, and is only a 10 minute walk from Palermo Centrale train and bus stations. The streets can be a bit rackety during the day, but is quiet from late afternoon. I throughly enjoyed my stay.

The flat is simply furnished in an attractive and eclectic style. We found it was very comfortable for the most part . We appreciated having a lift in the building. There was a distinct smell from the drains in the bathroom from time to time.

A visit to the Ballaro market is a must - The location was very central, within easy walking distance to everything, yet very quiet. Only a few minutes walk from the train station. The area was totally safe walking around at night. Nothing to not like.

We were on 3rd floor with a small but good balcony- like the photos. The kitchen is small but it definitely works. There is plenty of space to hang clothes etc, the bathroom is large and works well. • Toni (10/5): A very comfortable stay in a lovely apartment in the heart of the city. - Ignazio was a very helpful host, advising us on places to eat and organising a taxi to the airport for us. We had the top appartment (number 6) which has a fantastic terrace with comfy seating, lots of greenery and a great view. The appartment had everything we needed and the laundry downstairs was really useful. The location of the appartment was amazing. In 2 minutes, you are on Via Maqueda, one of the main streets in the old town. We would definitely reccommend Guascone Apartments. Nothing, it was perfect.

• Paul (9/5): Great base for exploring - Had flat 6 on the fourth floor with the lovely terrace. Great location for exploring the old town. Made use of the washing machine in the basement. Having a lift to go up and down was a godsend. Nice touch leaving boiled sweets for guests in the entrance. Shower was small with good water pressure and nice toiletries. Bed was very comfortable Pillows were only 1 each and quite thin, would have been a 10 otherwise

• Wilma (8/5): Comfortable and to a good standard. - The property was nicely decorated, spacious, clean, secure and it had laundry facilities. No issues
• Andrea (9/5): Comfortable Apartment. - Comfortable and tastefully furnished apartment close to the old town of Palermo. It had everything we needed including a shared laundry room on the ground floor. The shower changes temperature frequently - perhaps when other flats turn on taps which was a little annoying. The lounge was comfortable but the only lighting is over the dining table. The apartment would behefit from an additional lamp near the sofa as it was difficult to read books in the evening on the sofa.
