- Carole (7/5): Nice place to stay overall - The beds were comfortable. Check in was efficient and friendly. The TV didn't work properly. My husband had to use OUR account to log in to the ROKU. I called the front desk, but they were not able to help. We were tired from a long day, so this was rather frustrating The room was cold and the remote for the AC/heater was not very user friendly.

- DeeAnn (1/5): I’m exhausted when I should’ve had rest - Location They had me sign something saying that it wasn’t paid for when I did pay and she said oh that’s just make sure that you’re getting your room when I paid for this online through Booking.com. Also, the toilet the couch the doors were all missing. The wood was just very old and dirty especially the toilet and even had a little bit of a poo on it along with being very old the fridge ran and sometimes the toilet would run and there was a big old party next-door that they tried to settle down not their fault in their defense

- Rebekka (6/5): Good once they sorted a different room - I was looking forward to my stay in the Wizard of Oz suite but when I checked in it was really dirty. The carpet was covered in crumbs. The staff were lovely though and switched me to a different room that was clean and comfortable but I was a bit disappointed to miss out on the theming The not clean suite

- Mike and Kathy (2/5): Won’t make the same mistake twice - There is a lot of potential, but the room you see on line must be the only one updated. The room we stayed in needs a lot of TLC and deep cleaning; duct tape on the blinds, filthy shower liner that needed to be replaced, burnt out light bulb, and more but why list when it’s apparent management doesn’t inspect their own room(s). General lack of care - When booking in the car on route, didn’t see all the negative reviews…. And sadly they are all true and it appears the conditions have been this way for some time.

Issues with the code to get into the hotel which you had to get from the hotel across the road. Bedroom was clean and beds were comfy. Definitely needs some updating. Next to the car wash, liquor and food store which was good. Walking distant to the down town area

- Robert (1/5): This is not a good motel. - Nothing. They ripped me off. I chaned plans and tried to cancel this reservation a month in advance through Booking.com. Simmer Motel never responded to multiple queries. I only booked this because it was the only place with space available due to a football game. I had stayed there before and the room was not good. It smelled bad, the bed was not good, there were stains in tub, a wall outlet was loose from the wall. The room needed paint and the carpet was very old and stained.

Our room was in the far corner of a VERY DARK parking area with people sitting outside their rooms on the ground and within the parking lot. We are fans of small town American motel experiences BUT this is straight out of a movie where you don't come out with all your body parts.

- Pinter (5/5): Passable - It served the purpose! My kiddo graduated from K-State. My belongings spent less than 9 hours in the room. I spent way less time there. I was hoping for a themed room (of any kind) as shown online, just for the fun of it. The room was standard. I had to show my kid how to make the shower work (pull down on the spout) and the toilet was EXTREMELY loud.
- LARAE (2/5): - Room was filthy. Smelled horrible. Window didn’t shut nor lock. Air conditioning does not blow cold air. Room was unlocked when we got there. Dirt and grime on walls, ceilings and window. Hole in carpet. It was awful. Asked for a different room and we were told no because we used Expedia we would be charged again. Went for breakfast and every crockpot was empty. No pastries nor muffins were left. I had to ask for the food to be replenished. Front desk lady told me to call Expedia. Couldn’t find a phone number. I will only book direct from now on. Do not go to this hotel! It is horrible!

Tv in bed room powered on but you had to manually input channels. Up and down channel buttons didnt work. A/C was turned on day one and was still very warm in the room the evening of second day. Room was advertised as hot tub room. Was no hot tub in the room or on the premises of the motel. No pool on premises either.

- Tammy (8/5): - I ordered a room with a jet hot tub from the web site .Yes I paid extra for the room .I was informed by the office that none of the rooms had jet tubs,they was in the middle of a remodel. I asked questions around the extra charge for a room with the jet tub . No response. I suggested they update the online site andI was dismissed back to the remodeling situation. They never offered to refund any part of my payment and or update the advertisement. A extra blanket in the room would be nice it is Nov . I enjoyed the room overall. They have two different parts of the hotel . I was across the road . Not sure if they had a breakfast or not.

- Debbra (3/5): Falling short of expectations - The location to downtown Wamego. The city and everything about Wamego was adorable. I would visit this city again but I would choose different lodging. Fridge wasn’t cleaned out, mildew on the wall in bathroom, dirty tub, dirty sink… the rooms poster in the pics on the website (Wizard the Oz themed) didn’t match either of the rooms we booked for our stay!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Hotel was not as advertised on the Hotels.com website. We booked a king suite, non-smoking, with a jacuzzi tub. We did not care about the jacuzzi, but did care about the size of the bed and the room being non-smoking. The hotel was reported as "updated." When we arrived, the room had obviously been heavily smoked in. The room was visibly dirty, with stains on the couches and the material ripped. When we asked for another room and explained the condition, we were told that only one room was a king suite as advertised on the website. We were offered another room in the main hotel, but it also had an unpleasant smell. We asked for a refund and we did get the refund.

- Robert (1/5): Yuck! - Didn’t do breakfast Rooms were very disgusting. Nothing like the pictures on the website very deceiving, the one room that my mother stayed in the toilet was completely rusty in bowl and disgusting. Couldn’t get the shower to work, the door on the outside was completely gross and disgusting never been cleaned, musty smell, leftover cigarette smell in the rooms, in our room warm showers could not get hot water. Cobwebs on the ceiling carpet was just dirty and nasty. The overall stay was completely disappointing. Website is very deceiving.

Our friends' room reeked of smoke so badly that they kept their luggage in our room and only went there to sleep. It was not a clean room and the smell was horrible. I understand they were renovating but we clearly booked two "nonsmoking" rooms and that is not what we were given. I also got some runaround about us not receiving our check-in code because of booking through Expedia. Every other single email came through from the hotel, so I'm not sure why the room codes were any different. They're juggling two properties and need to do better or just focus on one.
- drew (6/5): - We didn't have unrealistic expectations. However we did expect a clean room. There was pubic hair, dust bunnies and filth along the baseboard behind the bathroom door. Also, both the couch and footstool had disgusting brown stains. That made us distrust the overall cleanliness of the remainder of the room. We stayed at a "MyPlace" the night before which was the same price but immaculate. It may have just been a "bad look" and not your norm, but it sure made a very poor impression.

Had to was out the shower myself and the kitchen sink was filthy. It has the potential to be very cute. They need to focus on the cleaning. We stayed in the exact room two years ago and it was great. Disappointed this time.

While the accommodations were older and not totally updated, they were well maintained and met our needs. It could have been a bit cleaner. There were some stains on the carpet and floor needed a good sweep.

A package of hot dogs was left in the frig, beer bottle caps laying on the floor, a small blue pill and red pill found on the floor. Housekeeping obviously is unacceptable. Coffee pods but no cups. Woke up to no water. This facility is under construction but this does not mean the housekeeping should fail.

The room I booked was not available. Was told that the spa tub was broken and we were put in a different room without any notification of any kind. Was told that the room we got was the same price as the one we had booked. That was a little upsetting.

- Anthony (6/5): - The room we are in smells “wet” and musty. I’m assuming there was a water issue or something in the recent past. Besides the smell, the carpet between the beds by the night stand it pretty gross. But other than that, the property is clean.
- Garland (3/5): Don't stay here. - The bed was comfortable. The heater didn't work well. It is winter and the room was cold all night. The toilet was nasty. The carpet was very old and disgusting. The glass in the window was cracked.
- Anton (4/5): - The Simmer Motel did not give me the room that I booked and paid for. I reserved the King Suite with a jacuzzi and four post bed and was given a different room. When I brought this up, they blamed Expedia and said that the room was unavailable (I have never had an issue like this with Expedia in my life). To their credit, they did give me a partial refund. The room I ended up with, while inferior to what was advertised/that I booked, was okay. Just "okay." The temperature control unit was very loud, the bathroom was uncomfortably small, with a very small shower and almost no counter space. The walls weren't very soundproof (despite what was advertised) and I could hear the neighbors. The doors don't have keys and instead have a code system to lock/unlock, which was not very user friendly (our door took many attempts to lock every time), nor does it seem particularly secure. My stay was bearable but I wouldn't stay here again
- Rebecca (7/5): Good - I can't really give a report on the simmer hotel, when we arrived we were informed that they had overbooked (even though I booked my room 3 weeks in advance) and they had to move us to a room in the Wamego Inn. The room we did receive was clean and comfortable, and the shower was nice and hot.

Upon arrival we learned the room we had pre-paid for was given to someone else and there was not a comparable room available. We were placed in a standard room but management told us that since we had paid through hotels.com they could not issue a discount or refund just an apology. This was very upsetting as we had paid extra for the king suite with the jetted tub. Otherwise the room we ended up in was comfortable but basic. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and it had a decent sized TV. We have stayed at this motel for the last 10 years and this has been our only negative experience and we learned they were under new management. We enjoyed our stay but it was disappointing.

- Linda (8/5): Nice stay - We wanted a place to overnight after the Paxico Jazz Fest. This motel was close and convenient. It was clean and comfortable. I would have liked a coffee maker for a cup of coffee in the morning. Checking in and out was easy. I don't know if they had wi-fi. There wasn't anything in the room about it. Wi-fi would have been nice.
- Burton (1/5): Confusing - Nothing The room I booked and confirmed ended up not being available, I received a confirmation and even the code to get in . Apparently the Wamego inn owners purchased the property and bookings were incorrect . They did accommodate us with a room across the street .

- Melissa (9/5): It was a fine place to sleep - Location-Right off highway near Manhattan Carpet was old & stained, stains in toilet, remote didn’t work to turn TV on/off. Outlet on one side of bed wasn’t accessible easily

- Katrena (6/5): Needs updated but all in all not a bad stay for a short trip. - It was close to attractions. The outside is the property looked nice. The bed was comfy. We were given a lesser room than we paid for, there was no one on the property to help us, some other guests informed us to go across the highway to the other hotel and talk to the staff there as the other hotel had just acquired the simmer motel property. The staff at the Wamego Inn helped us move rooms. The jacuzzi king suite we stayed on needed some updating inside. The needs replaced jacuzzi; half of the jets worked, 2 of the 3 buttons were broken or missing, the tile around it was cracked and globby with caulk. The mini fridge is old and rusty, some of the lights didn’t work, had to wear flip flops because the carpet was filthy. No TV remote.

- Stephanie (8/5): Very comfy, clean pet friendly room - The bed was fantastic. Most comfortable motel/hotel bed I have ever slept in. Lack of clarity bout check-out process until I was already on the road.
- Norman (9/5): Superb - Was quite easy to get to no keys or cards to hang on to like how door lock when you close door it locks was hoping to stay Sept 2 check out on the 4 stay in same room I had room 102 with one bed let me know if it's open so I can book it please

- Larissa (4/5): Disappointing - Shower curtain had mold on it. Looked as if they had tried to clean it but you could still see it. Really just needs to be replaced.
- Sheila (8/5): - We were very disappointed in our stay. We requested the king suite and in the details of the description describe it as having a jetted tub. It had a regular bathtub with a shower head that was not high enough for us to stand under. It also said there would be a coffee pot in the room and there was not. This room was not anything like the description. It needed a lot of maintenance. Stains on the carpet and the bathroom threshold was coming up so we could barely shut the door. The toilet seat was also loose when you sat down. For the amount of money spent it was not what was advertised. I would not stay again.
