Golf, boating, fishing, swimming in lake or pools, spa, shopping, dining, and all in the heart of the Great North Woods of Minnesota. Plus many dining and entertainment options off resort as well. Reasonable price for all you get. Staff is friendly and professional.

- Jean (8/5): - Loved our unit on Mission Creek with patio and lake just a few feet from patio. The room and bathroom is spacious. We had 2 queen beds that were very comfortable. Bathroom facilities were very comfortable. It would be very nice to have microwaves in the rooms. We had leftovers from the restaurant on the resort and it would have been nice to reheat rather than throw out. Rented a pontoon for the day. It was a very comfortable pontoon.

The weather was beautiful except the tornado that was north of us by 3 miles. We did take shelter in the conference area so that was a bonus. Overall it was a great time for our first time!

The staff is outstanding .. loved the salt pool and the golf is awesome. As a matter of fact the use of safe methods to keep the greens beautiful but without dangerous run off is so great. It is spendy there and we would love to stay a week but may be too spendy. The food is great there too.

The outdoor hot tub was not very clean and the indoor one was COLD. I talked to the desk about this TWICE and nothing changed for the whole time we were there—5 days! Unacceptable.

- Zhen (10/5): Good service and quick repair - Our experience at Madden's over the Memorial Day weekend was pretty good, except that the sink in the bathroom was clogged when we used it in the evening. We called Customer Service that night and told staff about the problem. It was fixed pretty soon. So we're happy.

Some of the servers need a little more training because they are rude and had bad attitude. Specially the staff at the buffet. The only outstanding employee there was Novia she has a great attitude and she went the extra mile to help us and she provided excellent service. Novia should be training the rest of the employees at the 2 restaurants, because she was very helpful and understands perfectly the importance of providing a good service. Also the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Staffs were very friendly - I booked a room on wrong dates, and I found out when my husband and I showed up at hotel. I’ve made hotel reservations so many times but it never happened to me before. I had a rough week and didn’t even check a confirmation email either. Fortunately, they had a vacant so they moved my reservation without any problems. It was snow mix rain on the weekend, and we couldn’t do any outside activities. However, we just slept late and watched white view, just relaxed.

- Verified traveler (6/5): So so visit - We arrived and checked in. When we went to the assigned room we found we were on the second floor and there was no elevator. This posed a bit of a problem as my husband had knee replacement surgery not to long ago. We asked if there was a first floor room. They gave us a room up on Strawberry Ridge where everything was either down a hill or steps. The room had no screen on the slider so we could not take advantage of the cool breeze. Overall we were a bit disappointed.

- Stacey (10/5): Wish we had more time! - Beautiful grounds,clean and spacious rooms! We were only there for an overnight, but enjoyed the great live music in the Pub!! Will be back for a longer stay!
- William (6/5): I may have come too early in the season - Rooms smell of Grandma's Old musty basement. Stairwells are slanted to one side with varying sized steps. Figure it's early in the season so rooms may not have been aired out but the stairwells are a bit odd. For me, the beds are something to be desired. Mattresses are very firm for my taste. Curtains do not close completely and light comes through all night. Breakfast buffet was good, same items every day though. Staff were very nice. Trying to figure out where to dock my boat seemed like a chore for staff. Once I had it docked someone from the resort came by the next day and told me I couldn't put it there. Would've been nice to know beforehand where it was allowed. I came for fishing opener, so I figured they'd be geared up for that... Room, especially the bathroom, was outdated and worn. Wallpaper coming loose, stained toilet seat and shower, carpet looked in rough shape. Room felt more like a cheap motel you'd get travelling just to get through the night.

- sonja (10/5): Gorgeous Gull Lake - Absolutely gorgeous - the layout of the resort and scenery. Highly highly recommend. Just wish check-in were earlier than 4:30 p.m. ... other than that, no complaints. Looking forward to going back.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Adult family trip - We stayed in Wilson bay section which has a less appealing beach and ok indoor pool. Hot tub was cloudy. The dining is attractive and the area near the main lodge is very pretty including a lovely beach -although we didn't even find it until the last day. It takes a golf cart or great determination to see all your options at this very spread out resort. When you do it's very nice and peaceful.
