Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Take this motel off expedia ASAP - I relied on this site to recommend a descent place for the price. Dirty stained sheets and the TV didn't work. No one to check you in or out. You had to call a number for someone to come from home to check us in. A lot of drug trafficking, soliciting to say the least very dangerous for out of town visitors.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Just a simple place to sleep one night. No more, no less.
- XZ (4/5): Really inexpensive, but can get other in town - Suspect that the sheet and carpet were dirty. Got workable frige and microwave, big TV, air conditioner. Half door lock was not working. No breakfast. Bath towels and gels, soap were clean and provided.
- Verified traveler (6/5): it was cheap - but the towels, floor, and walls were pretty dirty. but whatever.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible hotel - Some black guys came to my door morning 7:00 am knock knock to my door i guess they were drunk we are very afraid and we called 911 police came there and they gone
- John (4/5): You get what you pay for - In this case you don't get much. No room service in four night stay. Most of people staying there are locals who live there. Didn't feel very welcome. Lots of activity at night and not in good way. Many cars pulling up and picking up/dropping off women who live in motel, while men who live in motel stand outside watching over the women who are being picked up. Quiet during day, not even much maid service, seems only clean rooms on check out.
- Penny (4/5): Almost left and went elsewhere - Turned up and rang the bell for office assistance so we could check in. Waited ages, unable to take our eyes off the three dead cockroaches in the little compartment you pass notes and coins through. Eventually rang the office from our international mobile (not cheap) and got told to wait longer. Friendly office person ended up coming from across the road saying he was looking after both motels, so no one was ever going to answer that Bell. Anyway, then he told us it would cost an extra $15 to get another bed even though we booked for two adults and a child apparently that only included one bed. Told him we would cancel and turned to leave but he convinced us to see the room which he said had just been refurbished. Room was clean, didn't smell, adequate facilities. We did a quick Google to see if there was anything else available nearby for no more than twice the price but there wasn't so we bartered the extra charge down and decided to stay since it was only a one night stop over anyway. Bed was comfortable enough, shower was adequate. Wouldn't return or recommend though.
- Frankie Danky (2/5): WORST HOTEL IVE EVER STAYED AT! - The Maids never came to clean the room dirty towels.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Creepy, dirty, unprofessional - There was a wooden bar to lock the window. The curtains were hanging by three or four hooks. There was a hole in the wall, dirt on the pillow and the bed was made with two top sheets instead of a fitted sheet. There was a hole in the shower curtain, dirt in the window seal and a bunch of dirt and crumbs on the floor. The hotel was in a schetchy area and only had a simple lock on the door that even I could open with a credit card. The staff was friendly but very unprofessional. I would never stay here again.
- travelZ14 (4/5): 1 star at best - The overall experience was not bad. However, this was a 1 star & not a 2 star hotel. Bed was comfortable & had a quiet night of sleep. Bathroom left a lot to be desired but the shower worked & was clean, so we were good. Curtain covering window was barely hung, refrigerator was not plugged in & smelled so bad inside that we did not want to chance using. Area that hotel was located was very seedy & wasn't sure it was safe. Someone staying at hotel had to track someone down to check us in. The maintenance man ended up checking us in after a 20 min wait. At least he was helpful.
- mobyyy (4/5): Look for Better Options - Cheap and although no major issues, but recommend paying more for something better
- Jenn (4/5): Very Nostalgic - Nostalgic is the word to use for this place, if it means, the worst bed in town, the lowest of the low of personnel hanging around at all hours of the day, and towels that are so thin, you would think that they would start coming apart once you touched them.
The only good thing about this hotel is that they were pet friendly (but there was not a decent place to let the dog do his buisness). Their idea of an okay place to let the dog use was a “construction” area in the back, with shards of glass, nails, mattress springs, and nothing but dirt. I cringed every time I had to take my dog down there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): not what was in the photo - We drove up and saw nothing that was in the photo for this supposedly retro Route 66 motel. In the photo showed old rusty cars and Route 66 collectables. they were refurbishing the place. I was mostly disturbed by the lack of professional assistance from the desk clerk. He was flustered, distracted, could not work the credit card machine. He did not have a computer to check our reservation. It was a crazy sight to watch. Our Door handle to the room was dented inside and sloppy. The TV was on when we came in the room? We stayed 2 nights and the room was not made up the second day. We will not go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean Comfortable room - nice to have microwave - OIher than someone being killed on a bike in front of it, preventing leaving, great.
- Desert Fox (2/5): Scuzz Bucket - They never cleaned room , desk clerk smoking dope , hookers and pimps dealing drugs , police called 2 times because of fighting in the parking lot .
- ZZ (10/5): Excellent Stay - I have seen the other reviews and this has to be a different hotel. The one I stayed in was completely remodeled and everything was new and clean. Everything was there as stated except the Iron and board.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Scary - Hotel only takes cash. Very noisy with young people partying in the parking lot. The curtain had what looked like a bullet hole in it with a corresponding patch on a wall. I'm a police officer and was nerouse to leave my truck in front of my room.
- Verified traveler (2/5): So bad I left asap - I almost threw up!
- "Simply," Lee (10/5): This is a quaint motel and aptly named. - The motel is aptly named Route 66 Hotel, although it is a Motel. The staff and manager were friendly, helpful and very personable. They did not mind going out of their way to make sure I was comfortable.
I am a musician and travel quite a bit. I was surprised by the quaintness of the Motel and yet it was bug free and very, very clean. There was plenty of hot water, which can be a real problem. All that was advertised about it was absolutely correct. The WiFi was up and running, the Cable TV was as well. Coffee was readily available and parking was very available. This motel was very easy to find. I traveled from Arizona to there and my GPS failed. Yet, I was able, without any trouble, to find it by the street address.
I have recommended this particular establishment to my fellow musician who travel for shows in and around this area. I rated this Motel, a 5 star in every category. You will enjoy your stay there.
"Simply," Lee (Entertainer)
- allison (2/5): Terrible experience. - Man at the desk who didn't seem to have any info wanted to write my card number exp date and the number on the back down on a piece of paper and keep it and charge for the room I thought I had already paid for. I protested and was treated extremely rude by him and the manager or owner abdule and was told I could go elsewhere. So sketchy I finally just left and they charged me anyway because the have a different charge setup with expedia. Just waiting for them to buy a boat or something with my card. Worst hotel ever...
