Guest Reviews
- Rhonda (2/5): - Room was not clean. Had a very bad chemical Oder made me almost have a Allergic reaction. This hotel is not for a place to stay unless you're a construction worker looking for a cheap place to sleep.
- Donald (8/5): - Slim breakfast offerings - went to McDonalds for breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plumbing pipes clanged frequently, dried mold on air conditioner vents was troublesome
- John (10/5): - We checked in late. Super friendly staff. Exceptionally clean room. Great price.
- Benjamin (10/5): - The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly.
- Corey (10/5): - I really love the room. The bed was really comfortable. Also, check-in was very quick and simple.
- Charlene (6/5): - Outdated room. Stained and ripped carpet-had a rectangle shaped hole cut out of it in front of the door. Stingy with the coffee, and cups. Musky smell throughout, shower curtain was dirty at the bottom.
Loud voices several rooms down from us. 2nd floor-no elevator so had to carry our luggage a flight of stairs.
- Jackie (6/5): - The place had an od smell. Undescibable. Breakfast was cereal, toast, bagels, bananas, milk and OJ.
- Verified traveler (8/5): OK for the price. - When checking in the hostess was not very welcoming, I felt like I was interrupting their family party. The room was clean, however the bed sheets were either not clean or in need of being replaced, they looked dirty or dingy. The top sheet was however a crisp white so I pulled it up over the pillows and slept on it. The continental breakfast was all carbohydrates and the coffee creamer was powdered so I waited until I got to the airport to purchase a coffee and skipped breakfast.
- thomas (10/5): - nice quiet inexpensive
- Thomas (10/5): - It was alright
- Jim (10/5): - Very nice staff!
- Brittany (6/5): - Staff was nice. Looks like a family run establishment. The room seemed clean and smelled clean but the sheets and pillow cases had stains all over them. For what we paid it was good but not great. We would probably consider staying again. Breakfast left something to be desired. It was quiet during our stay which was nice as the hotel was fully booked.
- Daniel (10/5): Great value - Very clean - I had a very nice stay. It was very clean and tidy. I couldn’t find a taxi to the airport so the staff had a friend drive me there for free.
- Bruce (10/5): - Price was very good for what we got. Would definitely recommend it to others.
- Ron (8/5): - Satisfied with our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Exactly as expected - Exactly as expected. No frills hotel, but included breakfast was a nice perk. Nothing out of the ordinary.
- Gord (2/5): Low end facility for medium price. - Poor sleep, paper thin walls, noisy room, temperature was extremely difficult to control, awoke a few times either shivering or sweating. Old hotel that is in need of maintenance, towel bar was just barely hanging on, doors drag on the floor, water pressure is quite low, lots of little things. Hotel is a long ways away from the main restaurant areas, likely the furthest from the highway by a few miles. The rooms still smell of smoke from many years of being smoked in.
- David (10/5): A Comfortable Room - The room was clean and comfortable. The decor was simple, yet tasteful. I especially appreciated the traveler’s blessing posted in the room.
- CLAYTON (10/5): - Hotel was clean.. staff checked me in right away..
- David (10/5): Room Not Up To The Standard Of Previous Stays - The room I was in was not up to the same quality standard I’ve experienced in my previous stays at Travel Inn. The walls needed painting, there were stains on the carpet, a streak of something on the bathroom wall by the door, and the hook on the bathroom door was hanging loose.
In previous stays, the rooms I was in were in much better condition - clean, attractive, and in good condition.
- Steve (4/5): pay extra and stay elsewhere - very dimly lit hotel, could hardly see in the parking lot at night. puke at back entrance, strong smell of pot inside, stained bedsheets. do not recommend
- David (10/5): Comfortable, Clean Rooms - The rooms are comfortable, clean, and pleasant.
- Carl (10/5): - It was a comfortable stay
- David (10/5): - The staff was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): a good 2nd choice for Watertown - Travel Inn was a good 2nd choice for our stay, as Watertown was packed with a softball tournament. Cleanliness was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Couldn’t get an official computerized receipt, which I needed for the state of South Dakota as a new resident.
They only had hand written receipts, not acceptable.
On a side note: A few weeks before I called the hotel direct for a room and they said they were full for the date I requested, so I got a room via Expedia. The hotel had 4 vehicles in their parking lot Wednesday night and in the morning. Interesting…I won’t stay there again.
Everything else was fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and clean at a fair price!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All went just fine!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - just needed a place to stay in town over night. Travel Inn worked out real well for us,we where well pleased.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice little room - Pretty spectacular for the price considering everyone else's prices
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No heat. Asked for help . Staff was very reluctant to help. Would not even give me a blanket
- Alli (4/5): - Man was very unfriendly, to the point of being rude.
- steven (8/5): Good business stay - I was there just for the night and the state was very nice the room was clean the bed was comfortable. As a business person I’ve stayed a lot worse places that I paid a lot more money for. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very good value for money and location. Friendly staff, clean room. Would absolutely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room we stayed in smelled musty, that is the reason for the 3 stars. It was clean but smelled.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - A quiet place to stay. The property was a bit run down but overall it served our needs. It was adequate for the price. Enjoyed the free breakfast and coffee each morning.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I stayed there before and the price is very reasonable.
- Jon (4/5): - Seriously! I was here working late nights and had the room for the whole week. Some how the lady working at the counter thought I didn’t have the room for the whole week. I was woken up and told I need to check out...I had been asleep for maybe 2 hours. And I had the room for the whole week this was on Thursday and I had the room until Friday. The last thing you want is a phone ringing and someone telling you you have to leave. I don’t know if she just didn’t like us blue collar hard working guys or what but I said over and over again I had the room until Friday she insisted that I didn’t. I had to wake up and walk down to the lobby in a sleepless stupor to show her my receipt. As I am walking down there she sees me and scurried away to not have to deal with me and left me to I assume was her son to deal with me. I stay at ALOT of hotels and can handle a not perfect room and this room was not perfect in anyway. It was dusty and had separated carpet and a junky TV with terrible WiFi. And I also normally don’t complain, but waking me up while I am trying to sleep before I go to work without looking and realize what my reservation is, that’s just amateur and maybe not the right job for her. I didn’t get any sleep. I was pretty mad and I was unable to go back to sleep. Plus, they had only a half role of TP in the room. Come on! You can do better.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Best price for value of 5 recent hotel stays. A little bit off the interestate, but less than 6 minutes drive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was just what I needed for my stay. I will stay there again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was freshly painted. Bed was comfortable.
The carpet in The Hallway needs to be updated.
Patrons used the back door 'porch' to smoke in...as it was on the cold side, but did not appreciate having to walk thru that smell. That back (side) door was not locked, either.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - needed a place to stay due to blizzard - worth the price - the front desk help on sunday morning had difficult time speaking english
- Christopher (6/5): Ok - Good for the price. Not much to say
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean but they had done no snow removal around the building I have fractured ankle and had to walk in snow pack parking lot and sidewalks with ice patches not cool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The bed and the breakfast were good. Everything necessary for a good night's sleep and a healthy start to the day was supplied.
- Marilynn (8/5): - Friendly staff...anxious to accommodate us...simple but good breakfast.
- Michael (10/5): - Courteous helpful friendly staff, property inside and out clean, quiet , orderly.
- Kathy (6/5): To far out - Bed had lump in middle
Walls to thin- heard snoring next door. People taking in hallway
To far off beaten path
- TOM Oelrich (8/5): Good value worth stopping. - I have stayed here several time clean and we'll operated.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not enough breakfast. Got up at 7:30 and it was nearly gone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pillows and mattress were very comfortable. Breakfast was very basic. Property is older and tired looking but clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for - Room was dated and carried an unpleasant odor. I should have suspected this based on the low cost. Overall facility was in similar shape with worn carpets and older bathroom fixtures, drapery, etc.
- Megan (2/5): - The room smelled very musty. The front desk staff didn't say more than 10 words at check in, no mention of amenities. There was no one available to check out with the next morning. AND they have a pending charge of over $400 for incidentals when the total cost was only $75. Overall, was a very poor experience.
- Sam (8/5): Will stay again - No complaints. Will return.
- Janet (6/5): - Ok. Average budget hotel. Very little offerings for breakfast.
- TOM Oelrich (8/5): Do not pass up good place to stay. Safe area easy - Good price, clean rooms
- Jim (8/5): - The coffee pot in the room did not work. Otherwise no complaints.
- Michael (10/5): - Room very comfortable, clean, quiet. Staff very nice. No problems at all....may be back soon! -MM
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice motel
- Steven (6/5): OK for the price. - OK.for the price; bed not extremely comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - great value for excellent price
- Robert (8/5): Comfy & quiet - Well kept property, comfortable & clean.
A little further away from I29 than other hotels but worth the short drive. Quiet and ample parking.
- Joretta (6/5): Ok - The location was far from the I 29 and isolated. I would recommend more lighting outside.. The room was not sound proof, thankfully there was only a few guests and they were.quiet.. It was clean. Breakfast was basic but good. A great value for the price.. The lady/owner was the nicest person.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Filthy - Cheap, but dirty and unkept. Bed was ok but room was filthy. Breakfast was sparse.
- JK (4/5): Check the beds for bugs - After checking in we checked the bed for bed bugs and we found them we checked out immediately and got a refund.
- Des (4/5): Something is up. - Although they had a room for me, there was NO acknowledgement of my booking with Hotels.com The desk lady did begin to Spell my last name, or so I thought, then stopped. I get the feeling after a few minutes with her that she wanted me just to pay for the room and not go through Hotels.com or expedia, or whatever the booking shows up to her as. Otherwise a decent place to crash along the way. Breakfast was minimal but decent. Room was clean, not overly comfortable. So anyway- i stayed but this did NOT CREDIT TO MY HOTELS.COM ACCOUNT
- Norman (8/5): Undervalued - The bed was comfortable, very good for the value. Most of the furnishings updated and clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Stinks - The room was clean but smelled poorly. The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired.
- Robert (6/5): Smokers Haven - First night went ok, the second day they placed the room next door with a smoker in a clearly marked "no-smoking" room! We came back that afternoon and apparently the bathroom fans exchange air between the rooms... We couldn't hardly breath on our room. Ran the bathroom fan for 2 hours then shut it off when things cleared up. 1 hour later we couldn't stand it again... Must have been a chain smoker... Turned the dam on AGAIN, called the office and just got the run-around! Probably not going back. My Asthma can't deal with that!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Cold room, TV didn't work. Toilet plugged and several outlets didn't work. Cheap for a reason.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - OK but the electrical extension cords would not pass inspeectiion
- Teresa (6/5): You get what you pay for - Lady at the desk could not find my reservation even after I told her four times and showed her the confirmation. Hotel is small and cramped. Narrow stairway. Something was splattered on the wall in our room. Bed was comfortable. Only one plug in to be found. Left at 6 am and no one to be found and no breakfast....not sure I would have eaten here anyway. Went to get ice and noticed top of candy machine was coated in a thick layer of grime.
- Ellen (4/5): - I received a call the afternoon that I was to check into this motel. They didn't have any rooms for me!! I had my confirmation, David said that didn't matter he was new management and old management didn't tell him there were on line reservations!!! Poor excuse if you ask me. I was in town for an Event that many people from out of town were in attendance. Many of them also had the same experience. He did get us a room at another motel and paid for that one. He stated to me that my card would not be charged. So I took that as I was not going to be charged because of the situation. Wrong, I looked at my CC account and there were charges from Travel Inn.... I will not stay here in the future. I attend this event yearly.
- SHANNON (4/5): No, We Won't Stay Here Again - The previous reviews were very misleading to us. This is not a hotel we will stay at again. The smell of smoke greeted us as we entered the hotel. The carpets were badly stained. Our room had a very peculiar smell to it. The room could really use an update. The walls are thin and was easy to hear people talking in the hall and the next room. When another room was running water, it was quite loud in our room. The shower head was disgusting. My wife wanted me to give this place a "zero." If you don't have another place to stay in Watertown other than your car.... go for it, book this place.
- Brad (8/5): Great value clean and quiet - Good great value, clean and quiet. Nice place to stay, bed was comfortable enjoyed are time there.
- Kay (8/5): Good value - Good hotel for the price. Bed seemed fairly new. Plus you get a small breakfast. There is also a microwave and fridge in the room.
- Phillip (10/5): Phil's Review - The staff was helpful and always able to answer any questions that we had and took care of all of our special requests. The hotel was close to all attractions that we wanted to visit and also close to shopping.
- Barry (6/5): Budget motel - Basic motel at reasonable price. Convenient location. Didn't use breakfast facilities
- Carrie (8/5): - The management was extremely friendly. The continental breakfast could have been a little better. The room felt a little cramped.
- H (8/5): Good value - Comfortable, clean, convenient. Good value.
