- LauraLee (8/5): I would stay again, but be aware you may not get what you asked or paid for. - Nice breakfast, quiet, and good location. We booked a two Queen robed room for my son and I, but were given a 1 King bed and a pull out. I asked to be changed to a room with two queen beds, but was told there were none. Bryce, at the front desk looked confused and scared. It took about 30 minutes of me asking different questions and trying to find a solution. I asked to talk to a manager, he said there wasn’t one available until tomorrow. Finally I asked if he could call a manager, which we did. General manager, Joseph, was friendly and quick to agree to a solution, but with little detail. We emailed the next day, again no detail other than to contact the third party booking company. He claimed this would be quick and easy, which it has not been, but that is out of his hands. Currently, we are still trying to get this resolved.
- Fredrick (8/5): -
- Angela (10/5): -
- Galen (8/5): - Very nice room, excellent but for two obvious problems that should have been observed and reported by housekeeping to maintenance. Both were efficiently resolved once I requested repair.
Front desk staff got through a difficult check-in (IT problems between them and Expedia). Staff were basically fine, but could definitely use some customer service communications training.
Nice breakfast, very helpful person handling breakfast.
I'd be happy to return, but at a lower rate
- susan (4/5): -
- Nancy (10/5): - Very nice, clean. Friendly staff, decent coffee and breakfast.
- Carmen (10/5): - NA
- Alicia (10/5): - Great breakfast options that were closely monitored and refrilled as needed. The breakfast area was staffed and kept clean. Staff were very friendly and accomodating.
- LINDA (2/5): - Pounding noise in the pipes, sounded like someone druming over our heads. No air conditioning! It was miserable.
- Kait (10/5): - Was very clean and safe.
- DEBBIE (2/5): - Reported a/c not working and constant noise from roof and nothing was done about it. Had to ask for a room transfer.
- Jonathan (8/5): - Friendly staff. Clean room. Wall air conditioning unit was very loud. Shower leaked water.
- Denise (8/5): It was for convenience that we stayed here-our convention was across the street, breakfast was good - Location is why we chose this place. Their was a sewer odor emanating from the bathroom and a stain of the sofa cushions, light out at coffee bar-very dark and difficult to see
- Annette (2/5): - You booked me in another State from my request. They could not cancel my reservation and I could not get ahold of you in any way. Your service stinks.
- Marcus (10/5): - Safety
- Sara (10/5): Comfortable and Quiet - Comfortable room. Nice and quiet too.
- Angela (10/5): A+ stay. - Very professional and friendly. The room was super clean and cozy beds. I wish flatter pillows were on the beds. The big fluffy pillows cause neck pains and headaches. I loved the hotel.
- George (10/5): - Very good Fairfield
- April (8/5): Very good -
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Bobby (8/5): - None
- Renee (10/5): This hotel is a hidden gem in the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks. Wish I found it earlier!! - It was a very nicely kept hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, and the coffee was really good for hotel coffee. I would definitely stay here again and wish I would have booked it on previous trips to Grand Forks. The bed was a little hard and I didn't sleep the best on it. With it being a suite that sleeps four people, we could have had more pillows in the room. There really wasn't anything else we didn't like.
- al1412017 (4/5): Can't complain about the service, there isn't any - Upon arrival, my granddaughter slipped on pure ice in the entrance and hurt herself. I told the front desk person about it and he said that he would put salt on the ice. The next day it was still icy, so told another person and finally it was done later in the day on Saturday.
I was surprised that my wife didn't have to show ID or credit card to obtain a room that wasn't in her name and also change the room type. I came down later to a downgraded room from a King to a double Queen for the same price! Checked in Friday & out Sunday. Maid service didn't do our room. The fridge didn't have any adjustments and froze all our food. A can drink was swelled and burst in the door side can drink holder and we couldn't remove it. When we told the front desk person. He said "oh don't worry about our fridge". I said I'm not worried about your fridge, what about the $30 worth of food we had to throw out?" He smirked and said sorry. I said, that's all I get an I'm sorry. Not impressed. This was also the first guy that didn't take care of the icy entrance. On a positive note, the breakfast was good and the lady looking after it was the only friendly employee we encountered.
- LaVonne (10/5): - Grab bar in shower would be helpful to all as textured floor gets slippery when soap is in the water. Would also provide a place for washcloth during shower.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice rooms - Clean bathroom and room. Tempature in room was comfortable. Friendly staff
- Kelly J (10/5): - I thought they shut down the continental breakfast too early, right around 9 o'clock.
- Dustin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): - The hotel is clean
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The room was incredibly clean and comfortable. Loved the array of breakfast options. There was some confusion about our reservation at check-in, but we forged ahead regardless. A nice place to stay just outside of the city!
- Brian (8/5): - Peaceful
- Erik (10/5): - Nice new property located close to downtown East Grand Forks. Development in the area is just underway but still safe and convenient. Exceeded expectations.
- Cailee (8/5): Short but great - We had a very short stay, but our room was very clean, and a nice size. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
- Mark (8/5): Good overnight stay - Very nice hotel. Clean, easy to access from the highway. Good location. Awesome shower. Great breakfast.
- Kerri (8/5): Very good -
- Giovanni (9/5): Superb -
- howitstacks (10/5): Showers so clean! - The whiteness of the shower... you could plainly see it's the cleanest hotel shower you've probably ever had. Nice soft bath mat too. This hotel was quiet and the front desk staff was very efficient. Breakfast was typical Fairfield offerings. Will stay here again!
- Irna (10/5): - Great short 1 night stay
- Sonia (9/5): Superb -
- Tonya (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (8/5): - Very nice lobby, clean, updated room with large shower. Fabulous continental breakfast. Something for everyone. Thenonly downfall was our tv didn't work.
- Trent (10/5): - Good
- Scott (10/5): - Excellent place to stay!
- DONNA (8/5): - Comfy bed
- Janelle (7/5): Good -
- Jelena (8/5): - The hotel itself was nice, the room seemed to have been renovated recently. The bathroom was spacious, the shower was newer and comfortable, the water pressure was good. My only complaint was the beds, we had a 2 queen room and although they were decently comfortable to sleep in, they squeaked really bad with any movement. Also garbage disposal at 5:30 am when our room was facing the back was not a great wake up call.
- Carmen (8/5): - Na
- Carol (8/5): - The side door needs maintenance asap. I couldn't get it open so I had carry my belongings through the lobby.
- Roxanne (10/5): - Great place to stay when home isn’t near!
Great atmosphere!
- Cheryl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rebekah (9/5): Superb -

- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdullah (10/5): Great stay. - Love the location of the hotel right by the main highway. Room was very nice and big. The bathroom and shower were very clean and nice. Free Wi-Fi free tv and movies was a great plus! Nothing everything was so perfect from the staff to the room.
- Doris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloeh114 (10/5): Surprising Fairfield , clean and friendly - The hotel was very clean , this is the third Fairfield I stayed in in the last two weeks and the of the three the best . The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and pretty quiet and comfortable , the only complaint was the air conditioning/ heater was to cold or to hot and stuffy .. we could not get the system to turn off .. we did report the problem . The breakfast are was clean well stocked just wish the banana were not so ripe. But good choices , bread, bagel , yogurt , waffles oatmeal fresh fruit .eggs hard boiled and scrambled. I would stay again
- Wanda (10/5): - The breakfast was very good. There was a very nice selection.
- Connie (6/5): - This hotel was clean and the staff did their jobs. The beds are extra firm, a bit too firm for our old bodies. Breakfast was a step above other hotel breakfasts I have experienced.
- pfefmeister (8/5): Good Choice in Grand Forks - Easy location on the North Dakota side of the river, with a short drive to get downtown - west across the river. Room was comfortable and quiet, with plenty of parking and a hearty breakfast. I liked the lobby immediately upon entry. Can’t go wrong on this one.
- Shelly (8/5): - We loved the breakfast. There were many choices for both hot and cold and it was kept clean and fresh. We also loved the donuts from the Donut Hole made in Dickinson ND. Its great to see a major hotel chain support businesses that make products in ND.
- Jason (4/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was good. Location and quietness of hotel was also good. Room smelled bad, musty, wet like. Odor hit you when you opened door immediately. Dampness was uncomfortable but we were only in the room to sleep so lived with it instead of the hassle to change rooms. Room 322 in East Grand Forks, MN. Alerted staff who wrote it down on a card????
- EndeavoringTravelor (8/5): Very nice hotel for a College town. - Very nice hotel for the area. Getting in the parking lot was a little weird, only one way in or out not where intuitively it should be. Trendy fun lobby! Breakfast was good. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom and full shower! The bathroom exhaust fan did not work and the ceiling was peeling and cracking from the moisture.
- ritalI7842JP (10/5): Great choice - Wonderful place. Hotel was exceptionally clean. We stayed 2 nights. Location was easy to get to. Beds and pillows were great. Breakfast buffet was exceptional. One of the best places I've ever stayed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ventilation in bathroom appeared either inadequate or not working. A single shower caused condensation on all glass surfaces which remained for an extended time. Shower head was barely functional. Choices were a few flowing streams like a kitchen sink or a spray that had jets only around the perimeter, meaning a challenge rinsing hair. Adjusting was above the nozzle. A basic spray nozzle would be a vast improvement. My spouse who was a mechanic for nearly 40 years suggested a new maintenance person might be in order. Setting AC temperature was also a challenge to get right.
- Nicolas (10/5): - It was close to Bernie's
- Tabitha (6/5): - This is the second time I've stayed here, and the second time that I waited several minutes for a front desk person to appear to check me in. Outside of this, the hotel is clean and comfortable.
- 205krissyb (4/5): Wish we could say it was great to support the community but we just can’t. - Older hotel. Not well maintained, but it IS East Grand Forks so you can’t expect much. Bathroom fan didn’t work. Sink drain didn’t drain. Room smelled pretty rank. Housekeeping insisted on making the bed with the tags on the comforter situated to be in my face so every time they made the bed I had to remake it. We tried to be kind and leave large tips. Didn’t help. We had an extended stay because family lived near. In the future will stay across the river in Grand Forks where we had a better experience.
- Angie (10/5): - Very quiet, very clean, comfortable beds. Nice continental breakfast
- Barbara (10/5): - It was close the everything we needed! It was clean and comfortable.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Roger (9/5): great Value and nice hotel - the hotel appears fairly new. the rooms were very clean and the breakfast was very good. while the pool was nice, it fidn’t have a hot tub
- Tianna (10/5): - Close to the downtown area of Grand Forks and a great spot to end the day by the restaurants and nightlife of downtown grand forks. Clean, bright and nice hotel.
- Lydia (3/5): Overpriced - Breakfast was sub par Housekeeping was poor - I had to ask on a daily basis and I still ended up picking up towels from the front desk, etc. not worth the money. Bed was uncomfortable.
- Mary (8/5): Very nice hotel with all the amenities I needed. - The hotel was close to my event. The room was comfortable as was the bed. Nice selection at breakfast.
- Peter (9/5): Superb - Ease of access... the morning kitchen matron was an awesome help Snow and sub-zero weather
- Ted (10/5): - The clerk that worked the night shift when I checked in on January 19, 2023, was OUTSTANDING! I would come back again just for his kind treatment of me. The cleaning staff is also most Pleasant the next morning.
- Alex (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a super quick stay. Everything was good.
- Peter (7/5): Good -
- Emma (10/5): - Very friendly and help flulike staff. Good breakfast
- Allan (9/5): Superb -
- Lori (10/5): - The breakfast was very nicely done with protein.
The only down side was it was beet harvesting time and I heard a lot of big trucks constantly. Not the hotel's fault. Just situational and location on a heavily traveled road.
- Nichole (10/5): - Room was modern & nice. Staff was awesome!
- Jackie (10/5): - Excellent place to stay. Clean, nice staff and easy access
- Thomas (10/5): - Great
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (6/5): - Staff was wonderful. Post-Pandemic breakfast still not what it used to be for this Marriott level. Rooms are only cleaned on request, slight surprise. Refillable shower soaps are nice touch to cut down on waste but having 2 out of 3 bottles empty on check-in was not. Compared to the Regina location, this one doesn't compare. Not even close. That being said the staff did what they could and redeemed our stay.
- Michelle (10/5): - the check in process and the staff were easy and friendly. the breakfast options were plentiful and covid friendly in their packaging
- Verified traveler (10/5): We would stay again. - The hotel was clean and quiet. There was a large breakfast area that our baseball team could use in the evening to have pizzas and watch the MLB draft on the big screen. It was only a few blocks from the ballfield.
- thomas (10/5): breakfast - the breakfast was not adequate.
- William (10/5): First time G.F., MN - Nice hotel. Large room and bath. Clean. Not much in area, but ok.
- bighair177 (4/5): Disappointing Stay - I was going to give high marks for this motel, but when leaving the room I was cleaning up the bathroom and drop a towel on the floor. Pick it up and saw there was a spot on the toilet. Looked closer at it and it was dry blood. AHHHH...ish....they did not clean the toilet very well.... Told the front desk girl and show her the pictures of it, and she said she would tell the head cleaning lady. Got home and next day call manger at motel, he said he was sorry and again just tell the head cleaning lady...That's it....wow
- MikeinMN16 (6/5): Comfortable bed and nice room, but substandard customer service - I've stayed at many Marriott-branded hotels over the years, knowing that I would always find a comfortable bed and good customer service wherever I was visiting, so I expected the same from hotel. Well, I got one out of two. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I requested a high floor when I made my online reservation and prior to my 2/24 arrival, I checked in using the Marriott app. When I arrived at the hotel, I noticed a number of plumbing company trucks in the parking lot and a man carrying a large piece of sheetrock out the front door. I thought it was a bit odd because this is a newer hotel, so not yet needing a remodel, but I let it go. When I went to the front desk to get my room key, a man (maybe in his 20's?) helped me out. While he was coding my keycard, I asked if I had a higher floor room. He gave me a look, checked his computer, and said the best he could do was the second floor. While he was recoding my keycard, I noticed a large floor sign near the front desk welcoming the ORU track and field team. I asked him what 'ORU' stood for and he said he didn't know, which I thought was odd given ORU probably had a number of rooms booked there (turns out it was Oral Roberts University from Oklahoma, in town for a tournament at UND). He also neglected to inform me that if I wanted my room cleaned/serviced, I would need to request it. Not a huge deal as I was only in town for 3 nights, but the coffeemaker in my room only had enough pods to make two cups of coffee (later, I was able to get extra pods). He also neglected to inform me that breakfast was limited (no hot items) because the hotel was still following some Covid protocols. I found this odd as all hotels I've stayed at across the country recently have since returned to regular breakfast offerings. All of these things aren't major issues. My suite was clean (wow, it smelled good!), had a comfy bed, and had lots of room to stretch out. Here's the biggest customer service failure - as I stepped off the 2nd floor elevator to go to my room the first time, I learned from a construction worker that the hotel had just experienced a water line breaking between the second and third floors, causing water damage to most of the hotel rooms on the left side of the hotel (I saw one room gutted down to the studs). I think this would have been worth mentioning to guests checking into the hotel as the hallways on floors 1-3 on the left side of the hotel all had 6-10 floor fans blowing constantly 24 hours-a-day during my entire stay (I was on the right side of the hotel, fortunately). I could hear the fans from inside my room, but they weren't that loud and served as a white noise machine at night.
Bottom line: Would I stay at this hotel again? Maybe. The room was nice, the bed comfy, and the woman working the front desk during the day for the remainder of my stay was friendly. But, there are a lot of other comparable hotels over in Grand Forks to consider. One for a fact that I know has been serving an awesome hot breakfast for quite some time... :-)
- Doug (10/5): - Clean, quiet, comfortable
- Mark (4/5): - Morning breakfast was terrible. Microwave was filthy inside ans poor selection of breads for toast were already hard and stale. No fresh waffles or any fresh fruit. Toster barely worked and took forever to brown yhe muffins and bread.
Used to be a beautiful hot buffett with staff regularly restocking. Can't use Covid as an excuse because we stayed in other hotel just down the road that had hot items and fresh items with staff looking after cleanliness and restocking.
- Geri (10/5): - Nice hotel!
- FedAgent1896 (6/5): Not a great stay - I've stayed at this property many times and had good experiences generally, this time was different. The young lady that checked me in, maybe she was fairly new to the whole thing I don't know, was just pleasant enough. I don't get hung up on rewards status but I wasn't acknowledged as a Titanium Elite member, wasn't offered an upgrade, and wasn't asked if I wanted points or a market item. She just checked me in without a word, gave me my room keys, told me where the elevator was and that was it.
There was no housekeeping at all while I was there so I can't comment on it, but the ladies I ran into in the hallway were cheerful and smiling. The breakfast, I'm sorry, the children's food that was set out in the morning was the biggest disappointment. I stay at a lot of hotels/chains and they ALL have returned to the standard hot serve yourself breakfast. You guys gotta do better. Oh, and stop blaming COVID for everything. Your guests are over it. If you're short on help...just be honest with us...we'll understand.
- Glenn (10/5): - Great staff
Wished their was a recycling option
