• Manouk (9/5): Heerlijk verblijf - Wat een heerlijke rustige plek in de drukke stad. Het personeel is ontzettend aardig en behulpzaam. We kwamen aan op mijn moeder haar verjaardag en ze hadden de kamer versierd. Mooie kamer en een fijn bed! Alles was perfect!

• Gul (10/5): Location, Staff, Food, Room; We had everything we could’ve wished for! - The staff (particularly Abdel) were fantastically helpful, helped us navigate the entirety of Marrakesh and made suggestions to help us avoid being scammed, even did a cooking class for us with the chef! The room was comfortable and complete facilities, a lovely rooftop terrace and many a cat around to enjoy. Fabulous home cooked breakfast every day as well, which was particularly well done as it was Ramadan! Harder to find than we thought! But when we got there it was straight forward, great place and no complaints.

He met us from the taxi for a seamless transfer. 10/10 for service and kindness from all of the staff we met, would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return one day. .

• Juvenal (9/5): Definitely my TOP recommendation for a stay in Marrakesh - The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was fantastic. The riad itself is a real gem, located in a quieter part of town and beautifully presented, with a central pool and a lovely rooftop sitting area. Out of the six different places we stayed in Morocco, this was by far the best. A fact that should be promoted a bit more is its proximity to the city’s outer wall—only about a five‑minute walk—making it very easy to park nearby in a designated parking area managed by a Guardian (40 MAD per night in 2027). We stayed at two different riads in Marrakech. Had we discovered the proximity and parking facility during planning, we would have happily extended our stay here. As with any location, there are small trade‑offs. We enjoyed staying in a quieter part of the city, though it did mean slightly longer walks to reach the main souks, which we were fine with. There was an issue with a guide recommended by the riad. That said, the owner was responsive and addressed the situation promptly the next day, which we appreciated.

Mint tea was plentiful at any time day/night. Abdul was very helpful regarding places to visit, percentages to pay when bartering, etc. There was always someone there to hand. Roof terrace had 360° views and was perfect for catching some rays. There's nothing to dislike! Would 100% stay again.

O pequeno almoço vai variando de dia para dia mas normalmente inclui pão, msemen, café, chá, leite, iogurte ou fruta e sumo de laranja, todos muito bem preparados e servidos. Het rooftop terras was 's morgens na het ontbijt onze plek De overdekte patio(waar je regelmatig muntthee aangeboden kreeg)aan het zwembad kon zowel bij warm, koel als nat weer gebruikt worden. Zeer vriendelijke en behulpzame uitbaters. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en werd vers bereid door de vrouw des huizes. Het ligt wat ver van het centrum.

Adam kindly picked us up from Café Clock, making our arrival completely stress-free, and welcomed us with some of the most delicious Moroccan tea we had during our trip. Abdel and Rashik were amazing, always available to help us navigate the Medina, offer advice, and ensure everything about our stay ran smoothly. No request was ever too much, and their warmth and attentiveness made us feel genuinely cared for. The rooms were spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and incredibly peaceful, with comfortable beds and all the amenities we could ask for. Waking up to the quiet courtyard and enjoying breakfast there each morning was a highlight—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The riad’s location was also ideal, tucked away just enough to feel serene but still within easy reach of the Medina and all its energy. After a busy day exploring Marrakech, coming back felt like returning to a private sanctuary. Overall, this stay exceeded all expectations. It wasn’t just accommodation, it was an experience. We would absolutely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special place to stay in Marrakech.

The bathroom, particularly the shower cubicle was a little on the small side. I just have a thing for shower curtains clinging to me when I'm in the shower!!

Het personeel was erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze kwamen ons onverwachts nog een fruitmandje brengen, wat we ook erg konden waarderen. Zeker een aanrader om hier te verblijven!

Pool, tolle Bademäntel, Zimme rim arabischen Stil, Heizung für Handtücher und Klimaanlage, schöner Block vom Rooftop, schnuckelige Sitzgelegenheiten, gute Lage downtown, der Service was hervorragend, obwohl amn gebeten hatte Zimme rnciht zu machen wurden sie gemacht, fdas Frühstück war extrm lecker und frisch selbst gemacht, die Mitarbeiter waren bei allem äußerst zuvorkommend, freundlich, geduldig und hilfsbereit. sdf Minibar evtl. abe rman durfte gern seine Sachen unten in den Kühlschrank stellen. Aufgrund der marokkanischen Lampen und der Holztüren und Fensterläden ist es etwas dunkel im Zimmer wenn man schon schlecht sieht. Schild als Wegweiser zum Riad wäre nett, war nachts kaum zu finden.

• Catherine (9/5): Un beau Riad pour un séjour en famille - La piscine, la décoration d’une de nos deux chambres, le petit-déjeuner qui change tous les jours, l’amabilité de l’ensemble du personnel, la proposition d’une solution d’hébergement alternatif pour une partie de la famille dans un Riad voisin pour une nuit en raison d’un problème de plomberie. Le Riad est plutôt bien placé pour découvrir la ville. La salle de bain d’une des deux chambres était petite et peu confortable, la douche se fermant par un rideau de douche.

• Megan (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful Riad - We really enjoyed our stay in Riad Shemsi. From before we arrived, they were very communicative and helped to arrange a pickup from the airport. I would recommend this to all travellers unfamiliar with Marrakesh because it meant we were met where the driver dropped us off and shown to the Riad. Upon arrival we were provided with a lovely mint tea and made to feel very welcome. The room was very comfortable and clean and having breakfast every morning was lovely. We took up the offer of having dinner at the Riad on our final night and it was by far the best meal we had in Marrakesh! In terms of the location, it is slightly out of the centre, but it’s still very easy to walk to anywhere in the Medina. We were actually very happy to be in the Kasbah because it felt more calm and quiet than other parts of the Medina!

• Ilona (9/5): Wohlfühl-Oase in der Kashbah - Das Riad Shemsi liegt im Kashbah-Viertel und ist eine Oase der Ruhe und des Rückzugs mit einem schönen Innenhof, einem kleinen Swimming-Pool und einer Dachterrasse. Alles wirkt sehr neu und sauber. Das Personal, insbesondere die beiden Manager, sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Als wir mitten in der Nacht ankamen, hat uns ein Manager an der Stelle abgeholt, bis zu der die Taxis fahren können. Als wir ein gesundheitliches Problem hatten, ist einer der Manager gleich ins Krankenhaus gekommen. Die Dachterrassen könnten etwas besser gepflegt sein. Da fehlt es an Sonnenschutz und auch an angenehmem Licht.

• David (9/5): séjour incroyable avec une vue extraordinaire - Pour une première expérience au Maroc, nous avons été séduits quant à l'accueil que Abdel, Adam, Rachid et le personnel d'entretien nous ont réservé. D'une gentillesse incroyable Abdel a toujours été présent quand nous avions besoin pour l'organisation de nos sorties en journée et Adam et Rachid pour l'accueil du soir. La cuisine préparée avec soin nous a permis de découvrir les plats locaux accompagnés de frites 🥰 La piscine un peu froide mais nous y sommes allés quand-même 🤭😉 Ce n'est pas ce qu'on retiendra de notre séjour

Gros coup de cœur pour le personnel Hajar, Zineb, Abdel Samad Adam et Karim qui ont rendu notre séjour juste exceptionnel. Ils sont aux petits soins. Nous reviendrons c’est sur et certain ! Tout était parfait

• Soumia (10/5): Un lieu fabuleux et paisible 💫 - Aussi fabuleux que l’an passé! Un grand merci à Rachid, Abdessamad et Adem pour leur gentillesse, leur dévouement et leur disponibilité. Mes fils sont venus seuls cette année et l’un d’eux a été malade les premiers jours, il a pu compter sur le personnel du Ryad qui était aux petits soins à ce moment délicat et même après ! Rien à dire! L’établissement toujours aussi chouette, calme, propre à 20mn à pieds du centre jama et fna. Pratique et un peu retiré . Petit déjeuner fabuleux et copieux Rien comme d’habitude d’ailleurs nous revenons en octobre !

• Mohan (9/5): Wonderful stay with superb staff to look after you - The property is within the walls of the old city and as expected its access is via narrow lanes. The lanes are kept clean. The Riad itself is very well maintained. The staff take good care and guide you with good tips on where to go and what to do. Neighbourhood is quiet and not noisy. Breakfast was really very good with a good mix of Moroccan and continental choices. If I get a chance again, I would definitely stay here again. The rooms could do with brighter lights. But that's not a deal breaker for me.

• Shivam (9/5): We will definitely be back to stay here! - Very clean and well managed. The staff were amazing particularly Adam at the front desk! He came out all the way to our car to help with luggage and kept checking in on us to make sure we were doing okay. All of the staff were quite attentive. The turquoise room was clean with a comfortable bed and large bathroom, located right next to the breakfast area which was a great convenience but still not loud at all. There was also a safe in the room. Not accessible by car but only a three minute walk to where taxis will drop you off. Safe area to walk. Lighting was a little dim but nothing opening the curtains didn’t fix during the day.

• Laura (10/5): - Loved our stay here, staff were just amazing. We felt very safe walking around the area, even at night. It really is like an oasis, about 20 min walk from Jemaa el-fnaa. Breakfast was lovely. We found some nice restaurants for dinner locally in Kasbah too. Very quiet once inside and the rooms / beds are clean and comfortable. The roof terrace is great for enjoying the afternoon sun too.

Could be more decorated to give a more riad feel and to be more luxurious feel. It's also in a location with other local houses so it can take a bit of the charm out.

The location is a little out of the center and in a quieter neighborhood, but I liked that Its quiet, and so there is not much of a 'vibe'. • Nancy (10/5): The perfect quiet Marrakesh Riad in an ideal location - Riad Shemsi was a peaceful escape in the heart of the Kasbah. The service was so warm and friendly. We loved the mint tea and biscuits on arrival, the way they cared for our two year old son, the best roof terrace with views across the city, the little cats that came to visit. We stayed here on our first two nights in Morocco and it was the perfect introduction. I would highly recommend the location as it is by both the royal palaces and has wonderful local markets and cafes. It avoids the frenzy of the central souks whilst still putting you in the heart of the medina. Our room was spotless, the breakfast was perfect and the service was second to none. Faultless. The riad was perfect, small and quiet, there was nothing to change.
