- guntharf2025 (10/5): Short walk to everything in an updated place - The location couldn’t have been better. Immediately off the ferry for my wife and I’s first time on the island, we were overwhelmed with the amount of people on the island. The bicycle in was front and center. Very easy to get in, check in, find the room. The room seemed really new. Bathroom was spotless, carpet was pristine, all great! Easy walk to anything needed on the island. Great experience all around!

The food at the Winchester was mediocre at best and severely overpriced. The morning breakfast in the room was good. A list of local restaurants would be nice. Island supplied maps some what inaccurate as to distances. Very convenient to docks. Leilani was a great source of information and very helpful. QUIET!!!

We brought our bicycles to the island, so we appreciated the bicycle storage in the basement of the hotel. Staff were very professional and nice. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was large and clean. Location was right on Main Street and close to the ferry.

- D_JOregon (10/5): Good spot to stay while on the island - We stayed here 2 nights after Labor Day this year during possibly the worst weather! The inn was small and nice, though expensive. We had a room facing the harbor right above the dock. When you look at the main photo, I didn't realize that the long wood structure was the dock where everyone boards/disembarks all day, so you do hear the boat whistle starting around 6:00 am and the view isn't great. Mostly of boats and roofs. So no need to pay for a view. Staff was friendly and they did have someone there to take your bags back to the hotel for you but it was right there so we did it. We were really happy that we stayed near the shops/restaurants instead of somewhere further, so location is great. The island was quaint and would be fun in good weather. We did have a cloud break and took the opportunity to bike around the island which took about an hour. We walked to The Grand but didn't go in since they charge per person and if we had wanted to see it that badly we would have stayed there. We rode a taxi due to the cold and wet weather which worked great for pick up and drop off. Not much shopping, so I would advise that one night on the island is plenty. We did see many hotels in Mackinac City which would also be fine if you just wanted to come for the day.

My only disappointment was that they do not have a “late check out,” available to guests. The front desk staff.coukd have been a bit friendlier, but perhaps that was because English is not their first language.

Discount on bike rental at the place across the street from front office of hotel, plus safe room to leave your bike in the basement. Had breakfast service (for a fee) delivered to your door in the morning. Expensive but most accomodations on the island are.

- Kenneth (6/5): - The hotel is odd. We were in the ramshackle building above the entrance to the Pier where most vacationers enter. The check in was slow, and the building is a warren of different levels and stairs. The actual room was clean and the bathroom was remodeled and nice. My big complaint was the room we were assigned. We paid dearly for a balcony looking over the water. Our second floor room looked directly into a roof structure. When I asked for a different room, after a delay, they put us in a third floor room with delightful views. So, why assign a bad room when a good room (same class) was available. I greatly dislike the “squeaky wheel” behavior needed in a “vintage” property. Bad faith of the management means this property is off our list for future visits.

- David (6/5): - I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Pros: -Super convenient to the ferry landing. You cross the street and you’re in the lobby. -Check in was very fast and the staff could not have been nicer. The staff overall was great. -For a hotel on the busiest section of town, it was very quiet. There was live music in the bar that shared a wall with our room and we couldn’t tell. The sound proofing efforts must be amazing. -The room was spacious and clean. Cons: -The price point was pretty high for what was essentially a basic conference hotel double queen room. I realize you’re paying for the location but it didn’t feel like the room lived up to the price point - even in high tourist season. My feelings might have been exacerbated by the fact that our room didn’t have a window to the outside. We couldn’t exactly appreciate the sweeping views of the lake or the lively atmosphere of Main Street when we couldn’t see outside. Also for that price point, you would think your room rate would include breakfast but it didn’t. We could have paid extra to have breakfast in the hotel restaurant but chose one of the nearby restaurants and spent way less. -The towels were small, thin and very cheaply made. Same for the pillows and bedding - thin and cheap and uncomfortable. Again for the price point, I expected something of higher quality. So I don’t regret my choice and it’s not like it ruined our trip or anything. I would just choose another hotel nearby given the opportunity.

- gatorcindy (2/5): I wanted to love this hotel - We came here because this was a newer hotel near the ferry. I paid $150 extra for a view room with a patio overlooking the lake. We went got to the room the view was 50 percent obstructed by a roof. I asked the front desk about giving me some money back and all I got was a $7 bottle of wine. On top of this our AC didn’t work and we sweated all night. Please tell them that you do not want room 1204. Shame on management for calling this $700 a night room a room with a view! Also shame for not helping us with no AC. Beware!

Only caution for future visitors; the room we had (atrium) felt a bit like a cave, because no windows facing outside. If your looking for a super quiet place to unwind this is perfect for you, but if you would like to see any sunshine or evening sky from your room, I would choose one of the rooms with a balcony.

- michelledJ8199VD (10/5): Where You are Treated like Family - The Bicycle Street Inn and Suites is a lovely hotel in the heart of Mackinac Island. Its rooms are well appointed and extremely comfortable. We were fortunate enough to stay in a two room suite with a balcony overlooking Main Street and the water. But it wasn’t the hotel’s excellent features that made it exceptional. It was, in fact, the people that work there. Everyone we encountered treated us like old friends, if not family. Most notably, Rose Witt, the Director of Operations, who, when we checked in, proceeded to point out as many of the Island’s highlights, and some of her favorite not to be missed spots as she could, including giving us a personally well marked map! As we relied on her suggestions, we began referring to her as Our Lady of Mackinac. We respectfully suggest that Bicycle Street Inn change this to her official title.

Very clean hotel. Front desk staff were all super friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend a get away to help unwind for a bit on the island that is automobile free (for the most part).
