Guest Reviews
- Scotlandtrek (10/5): Immaculate and comfortable B&B - A warm welcome awaits you at this immaculate B&B. Bed was extremely comfortable . Breakfast was delicious and one evening we ate in the B&B, food was perfect.
The owner, Cindy couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating
Highly recommend!!
- Momrish (8/5): Great B & B in Niagara-on-the-Lake - Great location, easy parking, lovely breakfasts and excellent host. Need I say more?
Would definitely return. Much prefer the warmth of a B &B to a hotel. It was our first trip to the Niagara area and we really enjoyed our stay. Rather than doing tastings we decided to select wineries with restaurants and have meals there. Our host Cindy was pretty knowledgeable about the better places to visit. We go to Toronto several times a year to see family and this is a great side trip. Very enjoyable 🥰
- R2251VEdavidh (10/5): Lovely stay. - Wonderful stay at this Inn. Looked after really well. Rooms are spacious, quiet with good sized en suites. Lovely breakfast from the host.
Thoroughly recommend this place if you are staying in the area. Easy parking, short walk to centre of town.
- sinnabuns (10/5): Wonderful stay! - Darling bed and breakfast! Room was nice. Comfortable bed. Large shower. Breakfast was delicious! Prepared and served by the proprietress Cindy. Great location! Multiple wineries within a few miles. 20 minute walk to downtown. Cindy went above and beyond! I highly recommend!
- good_ants (8/5): Kind and friendly = a very solid 4 - The folks at 'Orchid Inn' made our visit to Niagara area a nice one. Three comfortable rooms (though one of our six sleepers claimed the bed wasn't ideal), in a nice quiet pocket of this quaint, winery town, plus a fine breakfast; it all adds up to a wise choice if you're looking for a place to stay in NotL.
- jamesbU8442EN1 (8/5): A Clean, Attractive Inn - A clean, comfortable and well equipped room in a small and attractive inn in a quiet historic neighbourhood. The staff- especially the manager- were extremely friendly and helpful and we were most appreciative. The delicious breakfast was served (not a buffet) in the lovely dining room. We would be happy to stay at The Orchid Inn again!
- 378orlaf (10/5): We loved our stay at the Orchid Inn - We loved our stay at the Orchid Inn.
Cindy, the owner is an incredible host. The rooms are spotless, the breakfasts a delight and we felt so welcome.
If we are lucky enough to return to Niagara On The Lake, we will definitely stay here again.
Highly recommend 😎
- robinhY1145UJ (10/5): Orchid Inn - Niagara on the Lake - Rooms at the Inn are very nice. There is a fridge for guests to use. Not too far to walk to the main part of town. The hostess Cindy is wonderful and makes an amazing breakfast.
- Hyfly1 (10/5): This is a wonderful place to stay. - My wife and I have been visiting Niagara on the Lake for years. Our go-to dinner choice is Ginger Restaurant, which is part of Orchid Inn. We keep going back because the food is consistently excellent. This is our first time staying there as well. It is a fairly small place with maybe 10 rooms. We will be back. Our room had a king bed and a fireplace, with chairs set up like a junior suite. The place was spotless. Breakfast is included and served in the same room as Ginger occupies for dinner. It is usually served later than we planned on leaving so we told Cindy (the proprietress) that we would skip it. Rather than allow that, Cindy graciously offered to serve us a half hour earlier than usual. My wife told Cindy she is not an egg eater. The next morning we were served a large portion of fresh fruits and a delicious BLT made with pea meal (Canadian) bacon on a fresh croissant. I tend to be very picky, but I found nothing to complain about. The price was very reasonable. All told, this was the best stay we have ever had in all the years we have visited Niagara-on-the-Lake.
- CRK19 (10/5): Orchid Inn is fantastic - My husband and I had a wonderful visit at the Orchid Inn. Their breakfasts are fresh, delicious, and filling. Most of the time, we skipped lunch.
The room and bath were clean, comfortable, and spacious.
Cindy is a very friendly and helpful host. She is full of great advice on what to see and how to get around the area.
We highly recommend this inn.
- jenniferu405 (10/5): Orchid Inn is a Gem of a Place - Amazing!!! Orchid Inn is a fantastic place to stay. A gem of a place that is deserving of all the positive reviews! It is Clean, quiet, a great location to so many things, you can walk to the main strip with the boutique shops, walk thru many parks, stroll down by the Lake. Cindy is simply a wonderful happy human being that seemingly has great pride in her Inn and makes a great breakfast. She answers all your questions, and is very generous with her time. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back, for 2 nights next time- one night was not nearly enough! Thank you Cindy!
- TrippinOutofTown (10/5): Bed, Breakfast and Dinner! - Cindy was a fabulous host, and her breakfasts were delicious! The room was quiet and comfortable. On the first night we ate dinner at Ginger, the restaurant in the hotel, which has an Asian inspired menu. We would definitely recommend both the hotel and the restaurant. Both are excellent values as well.
- MaryV368 (10/5): Our home away from home - We have been staying at the Orchid Inn since it first opened in 2007 and although we had stayed at other places for several years, we have made this our “home away from home.” Our reasons are simple: the rooms are comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious, and Cindy is the kind of host that every other inn should emulate: warm and caring. The Ginger Restaurant is also superb - a blend of the best kind of Asian and Canadian cuisine, always fresh and mouth-watering.
- kevinanddilial (10/5): Great Place to Stay !!!!! - We highly recommend the Orchid Inn. Cindy is such a wonderful host. The Inn is a short walk to Main Street in NOTL. The breakfast and service was fantastic. The Restaurant Ginger is also highly recommended. Would definitely stay, next time were in the area.
- joycepV4821HR (10/5): Best spot and reasonable - Have visited many times. The owner is always gracious, attentive and pleasant The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. Suggest one night to book a dinner at Cindy’s Ginger restaurant. There is demand for reservations, so book ahead. The food and wine are delicious, many times with an Asian flair. So worth being just outside of town. Less than 20 min walk if you want to do that.
- Sightsee628836 (10/5): Orchid Inn - The Orchid Inn is quaint, inviting, comfortable, and homey. The rooms were quiet and relaxing, we even had a small refrigerator on the floor to share with other guests. We thoroughly w enjoyed our stay. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful, great poached eggs, fresh fruit, muffins, etc. Thanks so much, Cindy!!
- Extraordinary770426 (2/5): So very disappointef - I was so disappointed with the inn. I expected , maybe wrongly, an older inn looking place. What we got reminded me of a 2 star hotel. Food smells greeted us when we entered and followed us to our room. Doors were old white plain doors. They had seen better days. Inside the room was extremely plain. No closet. Just an armour with poles on the side with hangers. Chairs uncomfortable. A very small tv. We did not stay!
- barbb77 (10/5): Another great stay at Orchid Inn! - We stayed at Cindy’s for two nights as part of a girls trip to NOTL. This is now our location of choice for stays in NOTL. We had tix for the Jackson Triggs amphitheatre and were able to walk there. We were also within walking distance of downtown which is another bonus. Cindy is very gracious and welcoming and the daily breakfast (included in the price) is amazing! The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need!
- C909EAmariev (10/5): Back at our happy place - We head down to NOTL a few times a year. Would never consider staying anywhere else. The rooms are large and spotless. Cindy does an amazing job at welcoming us and treating us like family. Our home away from home. The generous morning breakfast always starts are day out right. Delicious!! I have recommend Orchid Inn to friends and family. They are always so impressed with the hospitality. Would not stay anywhere else.
- Brad (10/5): Great Place for a Getaway... - Everything at the hotel was great. Service, Food, Price, Comfort - all in all, we had a great weekend staying here.
- Kathy and Russ (8/5): We'll be back! - Excellent customer service. Amazing breakfasts. Very comfortable well appointed room. Could use a bit bigger dresser or chest of drawers otherwise everything was perfect. No problem with parking, inn was within an easy mile walking distance to the heart of town. We will definitely return.
- Susan (10/5): Gracious friendly B&B - Great trip- cheerful environment at B&B, great food on site at Ginger Restaurant
- Richard (10/5): Nice clean property , close to all amenities - We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly . The restaurant had great food. Our rooms were clean and the property was very quaint and quiet. It is located very close to all that Niagara has to offer.
- Jane (10/5): - Cindy was so friendly and had lots of good advice for site seeing
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hospitality. - Great spot to spend a few nights. Rooms are small and cozy. Price is right. Cindy the owner does an excellent job looking after her guests.
- Barrie (8/5): Great spot for a getaway - We stayed here for three nights, Our room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. Cindy is a gracious hostess who made us feel welcome and at hone
- G (10/5): Lovely Inn - This a small well run inn. Tha owner, Cindy, was attentive to our needs. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully served. We enjoyed our stay in NOTL.
- Sandra (8/5): Nice place to stay in NOTL - The host was very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The location was good for getting to the theater and town.
- Laura (10/5): 41st anniversary - Cindy was great. Breakfasts were amazing, she took note of foods/drinks you liked or disliked. Very pleasant place on a quiet street. Would definitely go again.
- Cari (10/5): A great place to visit, rest and venture out! - Cindy welcomed us with smiles and open arms! A very clean room and a fantastic breakfast (no continental breakfast here!) with freshly made breakfast sweets were out of this world! Great recommendations from Cindy as well. I've told my friends and co-workers that this is a MUST VISIT place!
- Scott (10/5): Great Host, Great Experience, Affordable - Cindy made incredible 5 star breakfasts and was an excellent and knowledgeable host. I would stay there again simply for the breakfasts. The location is perfect walking distance from the main street and wineries, about 4-5 minutes. Very close to a bike rental as well. Room and bathroom was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. Not quite like a bed and breakfast, there is more privacy like a hotel but Cindy helped us find everything we were looking for in town and gave some great suggestions on which wineries to start with. Overall incredible experience. Thanks again to Cindy for making our first stay a special one.
- Jill (10/5): Warm and inviting - We stayed for 6 nights here. The Inn is older, but the room was quiet, comfortable and clean and the breakfasts, delicious and nutritious!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hospitality - This was our first time staying in a B&B. It was a wonderful experience. Our room was clean and comfortable and we felt very much at home here. Cindy looked after all of our needs. Breakfast was great. We will definitely be returning here.
- William (10/5): Comfort quiet . - Great . Nice place nice people . Home atmosphere . Orchids Inn peaceful
- Michael (10/5): Highly recommend this inn - The owner is very cheerful and accomodating. She makes a great breakfast. Great restaurants within 2 min walk and a short walk to old town. You couldn't ask for a nicer stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Orchid inn - Very nice stay at Orchid Inn.owner was lovely and helpful. Clean, simple rooms with everything needed. Not a luxury inn, but great for the cost. Nice breakfast. Overall just a really nice place to stay in lovely NOTL
- Guy (10/5): One of the best hotels we've been to - I booked this at the last minute as we were travelling down from Toroto and wanted to visit Niagara. All of the other hotels available looked to be either very large chain hotels next to the QEW Highway, sited in Niagara itself or small B&B's with highly variable reviews. Orchid Inn looked to be better placed in a quieter, more picturesque town and got very good reviews so we took the plunge and booked.
The hotel is a small(ish) family run establishment on a quiet road (virtually no night-time traffic) on the edge of Niagara on The Lake. It is a very smart traditional wooden building outside and traditional/modern inside, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent (I get picky about these sorts of things), the aircon works well and there is free WiFi thats good enough to run Skype audio calls.
The town centre itself is only 5mins drive or a pleasant 15-20 minute stroll away on quiet residential streets. Niagara itself is about 25-30mins drive away up the Niagara Parkway road.
Cindy, the owner is a perfect host (we got a nice email from her once we had booked) and was keen to explain all that we could do in the area and what we should see. Breakfast was a highpoint, you dont get a menu or buffet but instead you get a platter of home-made food ( e.g. pancakes, omelettes, french toast, fruit, muffins etc) that varies each day. The Restaurant in the evening was also excellent, serving Chinese/Thai fusion-style food and some very good locally produced wines.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean, quiet, amazing breakfasts - We went for dinner and the Shaw Festival downtown - walking distance. Breakfast was provided both mornings and was amazing! We rented bicycles and went on an afternoon wine/beer tour. There is a food truck event on Wednesday evenings with music within walking distance, as well. We also took a short tour of the Fort. A beautiful area! Niagara Falls is a short drive away.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place. The only thing missing is early morning coffee.
