- Kevin (3/5): Poor - Nothing I can think of besides leaving. The sheets and comforter were stained, there was a lizard in the tub, found what looked liked some type of animal poop on the floor. Staff not on site and had to call and wait for them to show up to check in. Tha air conditioner was so high up in the wall you almost needed a ladder to reach it to adjust.
- Jacqui (2/5): Very poor -
- Jones (8/5): Very good -
- Zimpel (7/5): Good -
- John (7/5): We are on a Route 66 bucket list trip and for a one night stay for two seniors aok - It was a cute hotel looked like so many on the route. The owner operater was great and I assume his wife worked with him both super nice people. There were 2 large 2.5 inch long roaches in the room and one tiny on one one of the beds. Bathtub was dirty soap in drain but honestly it was doable.
- Dave (8/5): About 9 hours there for clean up and some sleep. Left after 4 AM for the road again. - Quiet and classic. Room in good shape. Welcoming check in.
- Susan (9/5): A throw back in time - made this part of our Route 66 seem more authentic. -
- Atwell (7/5): Good -
- Skip (2/5): I would stay again, if the cold water worked, room was ok. - The location was good for what we were doing, we were on a motorcycle trip doing rt 66 at that time There was no cold water, only hot and I mean hot, the cold water was broken. The ice machine was broken and had been for some time I could tell by the massive amount of dust. The soda machine was also broken for what appears to be years as well. The room it's self was good, the ac worked well. I tried to call several times about the cold water,, no answer
- Darlene (10/5): Superiority - Peace and Quiet. Parking lot was well-lit. NA
- Theresa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ernesto (7/5): Good -
- Richard (2/5): You get what you pay for. - The owner was very pleasant and I enjoyed my conversation with her when I checked in. Filthy room. Sink and tub drains were so slow as to be practically unusable. A piece of soap left over from the previous user was in the shower.
- Joe (10/5): Exceptional - Great room and service. Great price. Everything great.
- Kjell (8/5): Very good - I like how peaceful and quiet it was. It was clean and the owners were very friendly and serviceminded. It had fridge and coffeemaker. The place is old but has a sweet charm. I slept like a baby. The wifi worked great.
It is a good deal, moneywise. I would return in a heartbeat. I really can't think of anything.
- Caitlin (7/5): Good -
- Renea (6/5): Pleasant - We just needed a place to sleep and shower and it was great value for our needs. The gentleman that checked us in was so pleasant and helpful Standing on a chair to get to the air conditioner but it really wasnt a big deal.

- Jeff (7/5): Good -
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, very clean and exceptional comfortable.
- Gerald (8/5): Consistently good basic economy 60’s motor lodge hotel - Consistently clean - been stopping here in spring and/or fall the past four years - never seen a roach as claimed in another review. This time in cold December the room was warmed on evening arrival and heat was good consistently.
- Snake (10/5): Shamrock TX beautiful place!! - Old flavors still the best
- Bill (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Very nice owner who took care of me. - Good value for my dollar. Fairly isolated area but I felt safe. Very convenient to have my car next to my room. Door didn’t have a double latch. Always helps to have the extra security.
- 884pierf (6/5): Cheap, needs more cleaning but overall ok - We stayed one night, it was one of the chepaest Inns of our holiday. Beds ok and good wifi. No breakfast. Our room needed better cleaning, we counted at least 20 dead cockroaches underneath our bed.
We didn´t mind too much as we are down to earth travellers but still...
- Ralp (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lynn (8/5): Great stay on Route 66 - Room was clean, comfortable and affordable!
- Myers (10/5): Wonderful - Location was great. We love that the motel was kept mostly to the original way. We was traveling rt 66 and enjoyed the old time feel. Can't think of anything
- BudinOK (10/5): Very very nice motel... - This is a neat little motel on Route 66, hence the name. The room was excellent. It was very clean. The bathroom was clean, with everything you needed in there. The sink, which is a not in the bathroom, was clean, also, with everything you need there. The beds were great. Not a bad price for a holiday weekend starting the next day. What really amazed me was how nice the gentleman was, checking in and checking out. I would surely stay again. Most important to us, they were pet friendly.
There is nothing like planning your vacation around your dog.
- Cynthia (7/5): Good -
- whitby1972 (8/5): Good - We'd stayed here back in 2016 and liked it then so we were returned.
Good location, walkable to the u drop inn, a pizza place, etc.
Very reasonably priced.
Check in was quick.
Rooms were clean and the bed comfy.
- Terri (9/5): Superb -
- Bonnie (8/5): Very good - Front desk very helpful, value. Television in our room did not work.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, great location, quiet Older hotel, little run down. Expected more route 66 theme inside rooms, but no decor in rooms at all. Just a few pictures out in parking lot. Trash cans overflowing out side rooms the few days we were there.
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor - Nothing My dead bolt didn’t work
No Kleenex
Refrigerator didn’t work
- Mauro (7/5): Good -
- Lisa (7/5): Good - It was better and bigger than I suspected.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Theresa (7/5): Ok for a one night stay - Location. Clean Some of the receptacles didn’t work. Toilet was slow draining
- Jane (8/5): Stay was pleasant. - Easiness of check-in. Room was comfortable. No complaints.

- Rebecca (6/5): Pleasant -
- Moore (1/5): Roach ville!!!! Do not stay here - Roaches everywhere!!!!!! Totally disgusting …you can’t even sleep good with the bugs crawling everywhere!! Horrible experience The roaches everywhere in the room
- Theresa (8/5): Price point is good for this type of hotel. Not a bad place to stay - It was comfortable and clean. Needs to have wash cloths
- Elena (1/5): smart watch stolen - ok to sleep only we left a smart watch on the room and came back, called, contacted the property by any possible way and we are still waiting for an answer.
very unprofessional
- Bobby (10/5): Exceptional - The room was huge an clean ..very nice .. No complaints what so ever ..
- Michael (1/5): Bad - Nothing! The property was run down, with roaches running around outside. The only part of the room that was clean was the bathroom. The ceiling fan woke me up in the morning sounding like it was going to crash down on top of me and I happened to look at the bed and bugs had fallen on it, and yes I have pictures to prove it!
- Carl (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (9/5): Superb - Very nice and quiet and clean, and most of all, NO BUGS , very affordable. heat and AC worked great The toilet seat was loose, and there was no remote for the AC
- Horatiu (7/5): Good -
- Sandy (7/5): Good -
- Kirsten (3/5): Front desk associate was decently pleasant, but the room was not. - front desk associate was pleasant Upon arrival, the front desk associate pulled up in a car because she’d been managing other locations as well. As soon as I walked in the door there was a cockroach and the light switch didn’t work and the AC unit was shorted out. I slept in my car.
- Stephanie (8/5): Very good -
- Maloney (6/5): Pleasant - we just needed a place to sleep on a long road trip. i was skeptical after seeing the area around the outside of our room there was litter and cigarette butts all over. I was pleasantly surprised when we open the door our room was clean and comfortable. the area outside the room liter and cigarette butts all over.
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Alejandro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (9/5): Route 66 Inn offers a budget-friendly stay in a cute historical setting - Route 66 Inn has a lot of vintage charm, rooms are updated, clean, and well maintained. It's a classic, budget-friendly Route 66 motel. The motel manager was very helpful and sensitive to my family member with disabilities. I have no complaints regarding the Inn or the charming rural town of Shamrock, which has copious eatery options, and the neatest grocery and hardware store combo right downtown called Market Square
- Vera (8/5): Very good -
- Bert (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (2/5): Very poor - room was never cleaned all 10 nights.
- SandraOnt (2/5): 35$ to over 65 - Online prices where 35
Called was quoted 42
And 7$ each for our dogs
She could not get her computer to reserve it so she left a noet by the computer so she said. I'm handicapped so sent my honey in. He was charged over 65$ 30$ more than online prices. Rooms were ok but upset at the amount they charged when I was quoted differently. Hard to find pet friendly places. 😪 that don't charge 25$ a dog. Back to motel 6. tried giving private owners my biz.
- Dan (7/5): Good -
- Joe (10/5): Excellent stay - The staff was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and properly stocked. A great place to rest and relax, especially for the price. The most comfortable beds I've slept in. There was no where to hang up clothes that we didn't want wrinkled, church type clothes.
- Rich (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (9/5): Love this little town, great place for price - It was clean, nice dog area. Noisy in the early morning from cement plant across the street
- Cindy (8/5): Very good - it was convenient and clean. bed was a little hard for me
- Flor (7/5): Good -
- Rafael (8/5): Very good - Price location and cleanliness
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - friendly staff
- Tammy (5/5): Passable -
- Esther (8/5): Overall, we prefer mom and pop type of businesses and would stay again. - Staff friendly. Very reasonably priced. The door to room 102 doesn’t bolt from inside. If you don’t press the door shut just right, it isn’t closed. We woke to the door ajar from the wind blowing it open. Tricky to close just right. We still felt safe, just wish the second bolt worked to keep the door locked from the inside for extra security. If I was traveling alone I wouldn’t have stayed the second night or requested a different room. No closet or area to hang our jackets or cloths we had in our travel clothing bag.
- Marva (8/5): Very good -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Brian (7/5): Good -
- Cynthia (10/5): Exceptional - Classy and nostalgic. Great value and will return.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Good location. Great price and friendly staff.
- Triston (8/5): Very good -
- FishyFred (6/5): Ok on a budget - Decent motel, obviously an old school Route 66 motel, but it has been updated. Prices are pretty great, but it is showing wear. My room had a whole in the wall from the door handle, many missing tiles on the counter space, and the bathroom exhaust fan (which came on automatically with the light switch) sounded as if it was grinding something. Internet was slow, and the walls were paper thin (although it was mostly empty, so rented room were rather spaced out and it wasn’t an issue once our neighbors got into their room). Also, there were lots of flies, plus one nasty looking beetle in the room. The worst experience was a very poor mattress that left me and my wife both waking up early in pain. All and all a good pick on a budget, but we likely would not stay again.
- Mark (10/5): fantastic value for a very clean and very comfortable stay right on Historic Route 66 - very, very clean comfortable and large room, a good old park right at your door motel, great location right on Historic Route 66 (just down the road from the "Tower Conoco" and "U-Drop-Inn"), a really great value NA
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marvin (8/5): Doing a Rt 66 retro trip. Chose this hotel over chain motels for that reason. Well maintained. - The question was about breakfast. We did not have breakfast available at the inn. Not a complaint, rather a sign of the charm of staying in an independent hotel. See photo below. We wondered why the folding chair was there, until we tried the a/c and needed the controls.
- Rocky (7/5): Good -
- tym854 (10/5): Shamrock Rte 66 - They are so friendly here and the rooms are clean and spacious! Great rates! Have stayed here 3 times and will definitely be back! Anything you need, just ask... they are very accommodating. I love this place!
- Ora (5/5): Passable -
- Kelvin (9/5): Superb -
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good for the price - check in was easy I saw a bug in the bathroom (NOT a roach-like a Beetle).
- Darrell (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (8/5): The price was excellent. it was easy to find. - No breakfast. Basic motel, no frills. I arrived late but that was no problem. Couldn't find the ice machine.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Traci (5/5): Passable - Wonderfully charming. No hot water in shower. Reported to office and was told to wait for it
- Flavio (8/5): Very good -
- William (5/5): Passable -
- Debra (7/5): Nice overnight -
- fnchuck (10/5): Clean And Friendly - Family stayed here during the St Patrick’s festival Shamrock has and it was clean and the people were friendly. For accommodations in Shamrock Tx, it is totally fine and way cheaper then the high prices you can pay for an outdated flag hotel.
- brittanycZ8003IN (10/5): We will always recommend this place and come back every chance we get!!! - We love love love it here! We got married on Route 66 (we are obsessed). The owners accommodated my family, friends and all of our craziness. They went above and beyond on my wedding day to be sure I was happy and comfortable. We come back yearly
- ArathiK_12 (10/5): Great value - Great room for the price, manager was very friendly and nice. Clean, spacious and a great deal. Not fancy but very good. One thing: the bathroom fan sounds like a dying duck but again, for the price, really can't complain. Definitely recommend.
