Guest Reviews
- Thomas (10/5): - I am not the energy type and there is very good energy in this little place. It is literally the closest spot to what they call downtown here. It’s very old so it will instill nostalgia and was absolutely perfect for me. Do not expect a five star hotel. These places are very old and to find any of them well kept is great. There’s a modular showerhead and they have Wi-Fi, etc. Area is insanely dog friendly. Whole episode has been great.
- PATRICIA (10/5): - I will continue to book this every year. I have no bad words. It's the perfect little cottage for a week getaway to relax and shop. Everything is in walking distance. all the shops are awesome. The lake is beautiful. I never run out of things to do. And it's also a nice quiet place for when you want to just relax for the night. I almost hate giving a good review because I'd like to keep this little secret.
- Terry (10/5): - A real Florida home perfect in Everyway for our needs. Nothing negative to say.
- Richard (10/5): - Our family loved this place and the neighborhood is perfect for a quiet afternoon.
- Kimberly (10/5): GREAT COTTAGE - Location was perfect as it is in the main area of Mt. Dora.
- Mathew (10/5): - A quaint, clean cottage. We enjoyed our stay.
- Kathleen (10/5): - What a LOVELY place! We’ll be back❤️❤️❤️
- Kathy (10/5): - The cottage was walking distance to all the shops with parking right in the driveway. Ana was easy to reach and was kind enough to let us put our groceries in the fridge ahead of us checking in. Nice and clean and great for guests needing two bedrooms.
- Lorraine (10/5): Best place to stay with all you need - I always stay with Mount Dora cottages when visiting, this is my favorite one but they have many and I have stayed in several others multiple times. You have a kitchen and ample space to hang out like your own home well appointed with what you need. Walk everywhere you need to go and cook at home or try many of the wonderful restaurants, two of my favorites, Thai and Mexican one block over. Also the Ice cream shop Scoops! I love this cottage and Mount Dora.
- Amy (10/5): Comfortable and Relaxing - It was only one night, but the cottage was so comfortable and easy. The front inclosed porch we used so much. Just a great place to stay and an easy walk into Mt. Dora. Just a few blocks. Would stay there again.
- Patricia (10/5): - It's perfect. Really can't say more. Can't wait to back a 3rd time
- PATRICIA (10/5): - The place could not be in a better spot. With in 20 minutes of being there i booked it again. Best place i have been satisfied with in a long time.... Book now ya'll. You will not regret it
- Kelley (10/5): - The cottage was clean, spacious, and within walking distance of everything! We had a great time! Communication was great, and arrival/departure was easy.
- Anita (10/5): - Was a great cottage and very clean. Could use a tv in the bedroom and a a recliner or comfy chair in the living room. Nice little walk tobtown so great location. Enjoyed our stay.
- Floyd (10/5): - Great place. Walking distance to everything.
- Christine (10/5): - Cottage was clean and as cute as in the pictures! The owner was very quick to answer any questions we had. Great location within walking distance of downtown Mount Dora.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cottage 235 getaway - Our stay was for a couples getaway from life and we had an amazingly relaxing time. Cottage was nice inside and out and a central location to enjoy Mt Dora without having to drive. Only thing we saw wrong was the Alaric’s slants a lot front to back. Would be a challenge cooking but that being said we ate out anyway.
- Henry L. (10/5): - The apartment was nice and it was clean. We enjoyed our two night stay preferring a real house over motel rooms.
- Karen (4/5): - I enjoyed the kitchen facilities. I did not enjoy the musty smell and the pelting shower that went cold halfway through my shower both times. Also the refrigerator was leaking inside.
I did call and let the office know of these issues but no one called me back to remedy any of the concerns.
- Patty Bea (10/5): - Beds very comfortable
- Vicky (10/5): Cute Nantucket cottage. Close to EVERYTHING. - This cottage is in a perfect location to see all of Mt Dora.
I stayed for the race weekend (5k Saturday and half marathon Sunday). One block from Donnelly park for the 5k start and maybe 10 minutes wander to Elizabeth Evans park for the half start/finish.
Key easily available from the lockbox.
Rooms furnished in a nautical theme.
Everything was well appointed and clean.
Easy to walk to restaurants and stores in historic downtown Mt Dora. I never used my car between check in and check out.
I would definitely recommend this cottage and would stay again if visiting the area.
- steven p (8/5): - in a nice older home ,needs a larger water heater ,we ran out of hot water twice in 3 days.
- Donna (8/5): - Nantucket room was large, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Instructions for access were clear and easy to follow. A flushing problem after check-in was quickly attended to and fixed. Easy walk to Mt. Dora's downtown area.
- Giovanni (10/5): - Clean, perfect for a family of 4. 1 small block to downtown. Quaint backyard. Great indoor front porch. Private parking for up to 3 cars.we loved it!
- Art (10/5): - Easy walking distance to downtown area and was on a quiet street.
- Ken (10/5): - My wife and I love the charm of older buildings like this. It was decorated in a French style and had all we needed for the weekend stay. Location couldn't have been better as we were only a block away from the Plant Festival. We made many trips back and forth with plants.
- Jill (10/5): - Well outfitted, comfy and clean place. Plenty of natural light and great working heat (we were there in cold weather).
The kitchen has ample room and is well stocked. It is on a quiet street in walking distance from everything fun in Mount Dora. Would definitely stay there again. We were in the rendezvous unit in the upstairs garage. So very pleasant!
- Denise (10/5): Awesome Cottage - Super cute little cottage, would stay again for sure! Great location too.
- Nick (8/5): - Very convenient to the historic downtown area.
- Anthony (8/5): Nice Stay in Mt Dora - Our stay was pleasent and the location was very close to the center of Mount Dora's business district. I was a little dissapponited in the size of the shower, I am 5'6''s and had a very hard time showering. The shower is only 2 1/2' to 3' wide with a seat making it difficult to move around comfortably. My son is 5'10"s and large, I don't see him even trying to shower without it being hard for somone his size. The stairs are a little steep going up to the apartment, so I would not recommend it to any one eldery. I did call for a second key for my wife, and Ana one of the associates of the cottages was very quick to respond in that instance as well as getting the wifi up and running for me when I informed her that it was down. I would recommend the this property to most couples, but as I stated before not to anyone with moblility issues. Tony S.
- Maria (10/5): - Lovely , little house with all kitchen and laundry amenities , cook if you want to or not and go to nearby restaurants. Very responsive hosts, the air conditioner was iffy and they had it fixed immediately. Near downtown Mt Dora. Would definitely stay again. In fact have already talked about booking in October.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We are very pleased with our stay. Lily was great. Location is so perfect. We stayed in Rendezvous and will be back again. The bathroom could definitely use more lighting. Overall, it was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was unsure about being charged for full stay prior to check in but it other than that & construction all day next door while we were trying to relax on a Saturday, our stay was lovely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet and private. Great for someone wanting to get away and refresh
- Elizabeth (10/5): Oasis cottage - Great stay, TV in kitchen/ family room at weird angle.
- Yolanda (10/5): Cozy - It was clean and very nice. Very close to everything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It should have TV in bedroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a lovely property, there a small leak, they addressed right away. No problem! Very happy all the way around!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Accommodations were clean and easy access to down town. Nice outside seating area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mount Dora Cottages (we stayed in the Nantucket) was perfect for a weekend get away for me, my husband and our little pup. Ana was very good with communicating everything we needed and making us feel welcome. We were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants. It was a great stay and would highly recommend.
- Jeffrey (8/5): Nice - Nice place to stay. Historical house not handicap assessible. will stay there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Property was of amble size for our stay. The cottage and furniture was a little worn but clean and comfy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love that the property has very few close neighbors. While we were in a home that had an upstairs, and we did hear them, it was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Beautiful and easy access.
- Robin (8/5): - It was located within walking distance to shops and restaurants
- Stephen (10/5): Clean&Comfy - Great stay. Clean,friendly and convenient. Extra clean!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfy cottage close to downtown - The cottages are old-style, but well-supplied. Ours had a full kitchen, a big bedroom, a small bathroom, and a back room that was great for storing luggage. The management was very good and took care of a cleaning issue right away. The WiFi is weak and spotty. The location is great for walking to the downtown.
- Katharine (10/5): Love Love Love - We had a fantastic stay, the cottages are adorable, clean - much larger then we expected and close enough to walk to everything but far enough away from street noise. Ana was amazing, she even dropped us off for our dinner reservation when we couldn't get an Uber. We are recommending to EVERYONE and we will be back again soon!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was very cute! Very clean! Coffee pot, coffee, and powdered creamer on site. Because of covid, there was no breakfast. Hopefully, when there is no longer self distancing, breakfasts will be included again!
Close to town!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a great place to stay - LOVED being on the top floor which had a balcony with rockers to sip the night away. It was less than a 5min walk to town center with easy access to great restaurants. We did not need our car at all this weekend. Kitchen was well equipped and worked nicely for a few pop ins to refresh drinks/snacks. Would recommend and can’t wait to come back.
- Sheldon (10/5): Perfect location to suit our needs. - It was exactly what we needed
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pros: 2 minute drive to main strip. Cottage very clean, excellent hot water. Had issue with TV, came right over and corrected.
Cons: “Hideaway” upstairs cottage had about 6.5 foot ceilings, but cute
- Ryan (10/5): - Great place and location. Manager was very responsive with check in and accommodations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was clean, very charming and homey. The proprietors were extremely kind and understanding when I texted to tell them I would be arriving late due to a flight delay. It was quiet, located in a lovely neighborhood, and within walking distance to downtown Mount Dora. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved the privacy we had there and we were just a block from the historic downtown district. We couldn't believe how comfortable and convenient and quiet our Cottage was. Ana is without a doubt a very Hands-On owner and sees to every Last Detail. We took our dog and the area around the cottage was perfect! Check in and check-out was flawless. We can't wait to go back. Mount Dora is a very happening place.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No breakfast provided. That was not stated on their website. Only that breakfast had been arranged
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Check in was easy. The cottage was very clean. It was within walking distace of everything so we could park the car.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It is decorated very nicely. Unfortunately, there were several guests downstairs that were extremely loud. The walls are very thin I could hear their every word.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Happy to recommend Mt. Dora cottages - Great 2nd floor unit with a kitchenette. Very clean and comfortable. Convenient location..we walked to everything.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The place is pretty clean and well maintained. It looks like the room was updated recently. Plenty of clean towels, kitchen is fully stocked, better than a hotel. The only pet peeve would be the sheets, they are polyester and they kept rolling down at night. They also produce static electricity and you get shiny sparks in the middle of the night. The location is great, walking distance from Donnelly park. Management was very accommodating. The place is advertised as pet friendly (some units) but it is not. If you have an overzealous dog that barks at the drop of a pin, this is not the place for you, we could hear other dogs barking in the pet friendly units as well. This is an old building so walls and floors are not soundproof. We could hear the other tenants yawning (if you have kids, not a place for you either. They will hear more than just yawning, if you know what I mean). So, if your dog barks at other tenant's voices and they leave early asking for a refund, you will be asked to pay for those missing days. So, not a pet friendly at all.
Overall a good place to stay if you are an adult and don't mind noises, but don't bring your dog (or kids).
- Robert (10/5): Overnight Stay - Really nice. Memory foam bed. Nice kitchenette. No odors. Convenient, blocks from main area.
- Paula (10/5): Mt Dora Hideaway Cottage - Absolutely love the Tremain Cottages. Such character, clean and in walking distance to everything downtown. Second year renting here and will be back again next year!
- Linda (10/5): - Walking distance to the beautiful Mt Dora lights. Coffee was delicious. Very roomy - but better than a motel. Only negative, had to wash my feet after walking barefoot in the room, although the rest of the place was spotless. We would definitely stay again.
- maureen (8/5): Family time - Our stay was great ! Close to everything and walkable. Would go back for sure and also recommend.
- Mimi (8/5): - Was great! Had a wonderful family trip! Will go back again!
- Sonya (10/5): Excellent - Quaint and cozy lodging. Thank you for your prompt response Allergic to aloe Vera and soap is harsh. All in all a great experience
- Joyce (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay and were very comfortable
- Lawrence (10/5): Bungalow, for those on the go - The bungalow cottage was very nice. The space is very comfortable. We loved it.
- Michael (10/5): - Very clean!! Had all the amenities needed for our stay. Excellent attention to details. Location was perfect and walking distance from downtown Mount Dora. I communicated with Ana prior to our stay and she was excellent!
- Mark (10/5): - Very quiet and comfortable. Really enjoyed our stsy
- James (10/5): Tin Roof Cottage - We stayed in the "Tin Roof" cottage and it was fantastic. Amazing location to all the restaurants and shops and met my needs. Nice to sit outside on the balcony each evening and relax.
- kristi (10/5): - cute ,clean, great location. Really nice folks to work with. Highly recommended!
- Jorge D (10/5): Cozy place in a great location. - Ana was very attentive and made sure we were all set. We were there only one night so not enough time to enjoy that “home feel” Property is nice and well kept, location is perfect.
- Thomas (10/5): Relaxing time at the Cottages - We've been to Mt. Dora many times in the past and this one our second time at the Cottages. On this one occasion we stayed in the Oasis Cottage and knew we'd picked the right one. The covered, screened in porch was our main hangout as the 2nd day was a rainy washout. The main street of town is only 2 blocks away and we always enjoy the walk around town and down to the lake. With many restaurants to choose from a good meal is never hard to find. And desserts galore can be found right there as well. Again, it was another enjoyable trip to Mt. Dora and the Cottages. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This is advertised as a cottage with a pool and spa. We were assigned a second floor apartment in a house. There is no pool or spa. The listing is completely inaccurate.
- Louise (10/5): - The cottage was wonderful. Plenty of room for and perfect for our needs. Very close to everything. You could park your car at the beginning of your stay, and not use it until you left.
- April (10/5): Great getaway - It was very quaint. Boat tour was awesome
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the cuteness of the cottage and location was perfect .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property is very nice, in a quiet residential area and just a few minutes from everything! Easy walking your pet in this neighborhood!
Our unit had a king size bed, kitchen with all the necessities (range, fridge, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, pots, pans, silverware, etc.) There was also a love seat and chair.
We have a small (11 lb) dog and that includes bringing a traveling crate for her and there was plenty of room to set up!
Will definitely stay here again!
- Paula (10/5): - It was very quaint and a perfect location to downtown.
- Roy (10/5): - The unit was close to down town, we will be back.
- Eva (10/5): - Very nice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We reserved the 235 Cottage, it was a group of us women celebrating birthdays and we were very pleased! The house was clean, and comfortable, very inviting. The location is perfect, just half a block from everything in town. Our contact Melanie was professional, and very friendly, easy to work with!! Definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again and staying with this property! Thank you for a wonderful time!
- rosemarie (8/5): - The cottage was clean, a little musty smelling, but nice. Our only complaint was trying to get hold of management to check in. They were not available in person or by phone. We were able to get in because family had gotten the lock code for the door, but we found it very odd that no one made an effort to contact us at all. We would stay there again though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, close to everything. Second story porch was a plus.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The rooms I stayed in were so cute and spacious. Perfectly located for walking around Mount Dora. I was quite pleased.
- Linda (8/5): Cozy Cottage - The cottage was very nice and the location is fantastic. The only drawback is that since it is an older home, there is only one bathroom.
- Elaine (10/5): Delightful! - We stayed in the Rendezvous Cottage and it was absolutely lovely. Mt. Dora has a lot to offer, and it was a most enjoyable visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Mt. Dora really is someplace special! - Meet my needs.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It fit all our needs for our few days in Mount Dora. I loved being just two blocks from town. The bed was comfy and our place was spotless! It was like a cute little attic apartment. Nice and bright, too!! And the women in charge could not have been nicer! Will go back.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We loved the fact that we could walk to downtown restaurants etc. The cottage was comfortable and very clean with everything we needed. The parking was fairly easy.
However, the stairs to our cottage were a little tricky and the outside and patio area could use some tlc. The WIFI was slow and the bathtub/shower was also tricky, could use a handrail and also shampoo/soap holder. Overall we did enjoy our stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cozy cottage - The Rendezvous Cottage was just right for us. Cozy with everything we needed. My husband is an early riser so it was nice to have a kitchen and separate lounging/eating space. He could make his coffee and hang out without waking me. Our only issue was noisy downstairs neighbors the second night of our stay. Apparently there is no soundproofing between the units. Not enough of a problem to keep us from staying there again if we go back to Mt. Dora. Good value for the area, short walk to downtown.
- Anita (10/5): Cottage cute and friendly - 4 ladies going to Art Festival for the first time. The little cottage was perfect place. Such as home away from home. Lager than a hotel or motel to relax in. Place needs updates, but we were only staying for 3 nights and my update are at my home. It was like being a little back in time. Very cute.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I was pleasantly surprised by the property. It was clean, light-filled, and very quiet. I would definitely choose to stay there over the chain hotel where I usually stay in Mount Dora. It is also very nicely located, just to blocks from the stores and restaurants down town.
- Lorie (10/5): A home away from home - Absolutely amazing very clean very homie I could have lived there it's very nice and I will grow back we had a great time we met family up there it was perfect
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic location, super charming place! Tons of bonuses like extra pull out couch, stocked kitchen with all the equipment you need, quiet, central heat and air!
- Debi (10/5): - Loved Mount Dora Cottages. Staff friendly attentive to all needs. Old charming cottages in a lovely town. Many cottages to choose for different needs and amount of people. I would happily stay again and tell my friends.
- H.Manoy (10/5): - Me & my husband were there this weekend for our Anniversary & loved it we had a great time! The cottage was cozy & nice.
- Cheri (8/5): - Need to get a code for the lockbox which is unusual (no one there to check you in) but they DID call to assure I knew the code. Sofa bed pretty awful, main bed fair. The place is spotless and well-equipped if you are cooking. Well located for downtown exploring. Beautiful and fun town
- Debra (10/5): Can’t wait to come back! - Great time. Close to everything! Can’t wait to come back!
- Tannman (10/5): - Perfect location within a short walk to everything... food, shopping and entertainment. Great stay and excellent value.
