- Julia (7/5): Wonderful property, great location in NotL, very welcoming host - The room was well appointed with a comfortable queen size bed. The room could accommodate a king which would be preferred. There is a large sitting room that was above slot to have a glass of wi e I. The late afternoon. There was a spring chill in the air and the fireplace added warmth and ambiance to the space. There is nothing unlikable - it is a lovely home. If I had to suggest an improvement it would be to change out the pedestal sink for something with a vanity and counter space as there is nowhere to set down personal belongings in the suite bathroom.

Tea, coffee, water, blankets for sitting on patio, even sewing scissors ! 2 minute walk to the main street and views over the gazebo and lake. Nothing. I loved it here

So many small details made it a stay filled with convenience and treats. Great to be able to leave the car and walk around the fabulous town of Niagara on the Lake or stroll along the lake. Perfect location to go to the falls and to relax. It was all good.

Really enjoyed the photographs of the town that the owner has framed in every room to show what NotL looks like in winter time. A made to order breakfast was also a lovely touch! I liked everything, wish I could have stayed longer!

As we were the only guests on the night we arrived, we had the full use of their beautiful sitting room. It was a lovely stay in a beautiful location and I would highly recommend it. They don’t charge the “Resort Fee” that most other accommodations in the Niagara area charge which is a complete money grab!! Great value for money! Breakfast was to be included but the chef was ill so they refunded us $50, recommended some good restaurants for breakfast and gave us late checkout. They did everything they could to make up for the situation and we were completely satisfied with their solution. Bravo!

- Min (6/5): Too disappointed - 1,The breakfast is so Wonderful! The ingredients were incredibly fresh. They were served directly to you after cooking, and you could even smell the delicious aroma of the food. This was the most satisfying aspect of my stay at this hotel. 2,The location is good, it close the lake and my room face the lake. 3,The staff was friendly. On my first day, she explained the rules to me and gave me a brief tour. 1,The hotel rooms were far too small. My daughter and I felt cramped even sharing a room, making it very unsuitable for families of three or more. 2,The hotel's facilities were outdated; the cabinets were rickety and on the verge of collapse, and the writing desk was just a small, cramped metal table, not even big enough to fit a laptop. The two small chairs wobbled precariously when I sat on them (I'm only an 80-pound woman), which scared me so much I didn't dare sit down. The paint on the bottom of the bathtub in the bathroom was completely cracked; I was worried about cutting my feet standing on it. The television didn't even work. What shocked me even more was that on the day we checked in (March 8th), they didn't provide indoor heating, forcing me to find a small heater to keep warm at night. The next day, when I asked a staff member, she said the weather was warm enough that heating wasn't needed! 3, I needed to work during my stay, but from my room to the lobby downstairs, I couldn't find a single empty table to put my laptop on. The living room was piled high with all sorts of items collected by the owner, and the dining table was crammed with various tableware. It was such a shame that I couldn't find a single desk. 4, The hygiene conditions were appalling. My daughter sat on the only armchair sofa for 2-3 hours wearing shorts, and then found that her thighs were itchy and a large rash appeared. We quickly applied cold water, guessing that the sofa was not clean and caused her allergic reaction. 5, I paid $300 for that night, but all things considered, it wasn't worth it at all. We won't be staying at this hotel again, even though its breakfast was indeed quite good.

Liked coffee and tea station upstairs Would like to come back and visit in warm weather and enjoy outside front porch facing the lake. Liked that it is walkable to downtown and Shaw Theatre even in the winter when we were there Very very clean Beautifully decorated with photos taken by owner. I thought the website said each room had two double beds. But it is only one. My error. Pedestal sinks do not allow much room for personal grooming items but etagère sufficed.

De ligging van The Old Bank House, gelijk aan Lake Ontario! Bij mijn volgende bezoek aan Niagara-in-The-Lake, zal ik niet aarzelen om hier wederom de nacht door te brengen! Dankjewel!

They need to bring that back

Nice shared patio with great view. Quick walk to Queen St for shops and dinner. Breakfast was fabulous. Best Eggs Benedict ever. And our host Igor was super helpful. My wife and I will definitely be back. We liked it all.

Breakfast was delicious. Amazing location. The Old Bank House has already been highly recommended to all our family & friends. Nothing. All expectations were met.
- Anna (9/5): This was a beautiful place to stay! - The breakfast was delicious for both me and my sister. It was also fantastic to be so close to the lake so we could watch the sunset and the sunrise the following morning. Having free parking was also a great "plus" - especially since most of the things we wanted to see/do were within walking distance. Finally, being able to have the flexibility of eating outside in the morning was wonderful! It was a little rough when some people came back to the house around midnight and were quite noisy. I woke up to the noise and it continued off and on for at least 30 to 45 minutes. (There were some loud door sounds and some loud voices.) It was sad that people didn't consider others, as there had been instructions on the info sheet saying to please try to be as quiet as possible between 10pm and 8am. I'm not sure that The Old Bank House could do anything else to help with this, but that was the most disappointing thing about the stay.

- Ralph (8/5): Location, view, and convenience to town and bike path made staying worthwhile. - Loved the location, the view of Lake Ontario from the front porch and the garden area which both had nice seating. Our breakfast was delicious and the staff were kind. Our mattress, however, was very uncomfortable and old. We both sunk into the middle, there was no support. Everything was clean which is important to me. The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable.

Bed was big and comfortable but pillows were either low and soft or high and firm. Perhaps a medium range could be useful to supply as well.

Truly delicious, plenty of options, served very promptly and the food was nice and hot- even my toast was still hot. The bed was quite uncomfortable so neither of us got very much sleep.

Bed was very comfortable and room was super clean. Would stay there again. Parking was a little tight, not sure if I like Keurig machines for healthiness, someone needs to defrost fridge

- Marlene (8/5): We loved it. Just an overnight stay but made the most of our space and balcony after a long day. - The room was spacious, well appointed and had a great view of the lake. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was amazing. We loved that there was a beverage station with a fridge upstairs to make tea and coffee. Not far from the main street but enough of a distance to not be overwhelmed by all the people traffic. Overall very impressive and quite lovely. Would have like to have a longer breakfast service.

Only when asking did we receive fresh towels and a re-fresh of our room. Also my family staying in a different room never were offered fresh towels nor a clean up. Fyi, comparing the services at the hotel versus other hotels we have stayed at in the past, there were no extra services provided except for breakfast. We did not see any persons nor did anyone introduce themselves to us, who would give advice as to activities availalble n NOTL.

- michelecV7633ZT (10/5): Historic gem in downtown NOTL - We booked a two-night stay to visit the Ice Wine Festival in January. The location is perfect, just a short walk to shops and restaurants, and an even shorter walk to the shoreline, which we had a view of from our room. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and we also enjoyed sitting and chatting with the other guests in one of the two dining rooms. Single tables are an option as well if you like to stay quiet in the morning. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The common areas of this historic building are filled with artwork, trinkets, memorabilia and the photographer owner’s collection of stunning black and white prints of scenes taken around the area. Everywhere you look, there’s something interesting to see. The rooms were clean and offered a perfect blend of historic charm but with modern bathrooms and amenities. Coffee and tea stations were available 24/7, along with wine glasses, corkscrews, ice and guest refrigerator. Would 100% book again!
