Guest Reviews
- Benita (7/5): A nice place to say in the historic district. - Location was good with balcony view of alms giving. Lovely quiet courtyard for breakfast. Breakfast was good and had enough choice. Room balconies were nice. Friendly staff. Sticky doors, no fan on balcony (but that’s a nice to have not essential!).
- Janet (10/5): I loved this hotel! Great location... close to everything but at the same time peaceful and green. - The hotel was in a very pretty location, on the peninsula in between the Mekong and Its tributary close to many good restaurants, cafes and bars (including the very popular pizza place just opposite). The staff were outstanding - friendly, helpful and kind. The room was lovely and comfortable with its own little balcony looking over the garden - very peaceful. Breakfast was varied and delicious. My favourite accommodation during my time in Laos. Nothing
Conclusion: Exigez un cadenas!
- Jacqueline (9/5): - Great location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room. I wish I would have booked here for my return to Luang Prabang. Wifi was hit or miss.
- Alessia (10/5): Super consigliato!
- Berit (10/5): Beautiful place! - I have stayed for a week at Lotus Villa and I loved my stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and service-minded. They offered transportation, and I enjoyed both the airport shuttle and two days of sightseeing in the area. I will miss this place, the beautiful room, the great breakfast and the peaceful atmosphere. Lotus Villa is highly recommended and I will be happy to return. I liked everything.
- Marcel (7/5): - Sehr zentral gelegen
Klein nettes Hotel mit zuvorkommendem Personal
- Michael (9/5): -
- marjorie (10/5): Wonderful stay. Staff very friendly snd helpful. The quiet courtyard was the ideal place for breakfast or just to relax - Ideal location, off the Main Street.
Every morning the monks walk pass and you can appreciate them w/o the crowds of tourists on the Main Street. I liked everything
- Sanjay (8/5): - Staff location value Dining court
- Christine (9/5): A charming oasis in a busy area - This is the second time we have stayed at Lotus Villa. It’s a little oasis with a lovely garden and an excellent breakfast. The staff are all pleasant and helpful. The rooms themselves are charming, clean and well equipped.
Devoir y partir
- Stefano (10/5): Super consigliato! - Staff top! Cortile interno per la colazione molto bello.
- Angran (10/5): - Location is closed to every main activity, don't need to wake up before 5:30am. None
- Tanya (9/5): Würde ich in Luang Prabang wieder buchen - Hatte ein wunderbares Zimmer, Toplage alles in Gehdistanz sehr gut erreichbar Zimmer sind etwas ringhörig
- Rebecca (9/5): Lovely boutique hotel in central location - Lovely little hotel in perfect central yet quiet location. Very friendly and helpful staff who resolved an issue with no fuss. The breakfast is served in the lush central courtyard and had options for variation over a few days.
This was my second time staying here and everything was just the same as seven years ago! The firmness of the bed, and some minor maintenance needed (eg noisy toilet, bathroom door tricky to close)
- Caroline (9/5): Gorgeous place, nice staff, good breakfast and great location - The room was beautiful
And smelt lovely too. The staff didn’t know much beyond what the hotel offered, e.g shuttle buses
- De Los Rios (10/5): - Camere molto confortevole e pulita. Coalizioni strepitose. Personale gentilissimo. Posizione perfetta. What else?
- Ruozhou (10/5): Wonderful location and wonderful staff. - The location is perfect. Room is clean and cozy. Staff is very hospitable and responsive. Overall a very pleasant stay!
- Lisa (8/5): Great location, clean hotel. Would recommend. - Location was fabulous. Cleanliness too. They’re my two reference points and this hotel has both. The road is where the monks come for alms giving -Tak Bat- so no need for a moonlit minibus tour at 5am. Just wander out of your bedroom at 5.45 and it’s all in front of you, albeit rather touristy.
Good breakfast in a beautiful garden, very clean, functional room. Balcony overlooks shared garden so not private.
Nearby restaurants/bars/laundry/boats/shops. Few hundred yards from every tourist point on that small peninsula you will need. Balcony chairs could do with a cushion but really nitpicking. Was absolutely great place. Would recommend. Something I do rarely!
- ANDREY (10/5): -
- Phil (10/5): - Ambiance was relaxing & staff were attentive to needs. Too short a stay. Could easily stayed here longer.
- Jean-Francois (8/5): A great accommodation in the heart of old village. - Nice boutique hotel, extremely well situated yet very quiet.
- Georgina (10/5): Peaceful stay in a pretty boutique hotel - The staff are all lovely, very polite and helpful. The rooms are a good size with a lovely little terrace or balcony. Some overlook the beautiful little courtyard where you have breakfast. Some overlook the pretty street where the monks pass through every morning for alms giving. Either option is great.
The bed is large and very comfortable with clean fresh linen. The room feels comfortable, cosy and authentic. There's a little fridge and kettle. It's easy to control the temperature as you have air con that works well and a fan too. WiFi worked perfectly.
The main attractions are a short walk away, so convenient without being in the noisy area of town. I managed to walk to the night and morning market easily, even with a fractured foot! The whole area feels safe as well.
Breakfast at the hotel is delicious, the fruit plate especially. Every single bite of fruit was as tasty as it looked.
I have only been left a day and miss Lotus Villa already.
100% recommended. Nothing!
- Julie (8/5): Great boutique hotel in an excellent location - Great location, beautiful big room (orchid suite), comfortable bed, good a la carte breakfast Pillows were too hard
Herrlich!!! Hellhörig, besonders wenn Frühstückszeit ist.
- Alexandra (9/5): Thank you Lotus Villa - we had a great time. - Lotus Villa is in a quiet, pretty street with a lot of great cafes, restaurants nearby and several of the main temples nearby too. The staff were polite, friendly and super helpful, especially when we had a train ticket panic - they helped us out! The breakfast was very nice and it was lovely eating in the leafy courtyard. We were a family of 4 and stayed in the orchid suite which was really spacious. Beds and sheets were good quality. The photos don't really do it justice! Would highly recommend staying here for a calm, quiet and relaxing stay. Wander the streets nearby and just try all the cafes and restaurants, and visit Big Brother Mouse nearby too to help Lao students practice their English. Perfect location! Very minor issue - The aircon worked well once it was on, but we had to fiddle with the remote a bit, and the safe was a little old. Other than that, it was all just lovely!
- Overby (8/5): -
- Maclyn B (10/5): - It was clean and the balcony space is very nice for a green experience. Front desk was super friendly
- Hideaki (10/5): - Breakfast was excellent. Conveniently located. Everything is closeby.
Wifi ok RAS
- Ramona (10/5): - Good stay overall, very friendly staff helping with info and tips around the place, room was clean, breakfast had inly few choices but pretty good overall
- Orel (9/5): - The most charming place in Luang Prabang!
The staff is absolutely amazing, the design is stunning, the room was spacious, and breakfast in the beautiful garden was just perfect. The location is spot on.
The only small issue we had was with the Wi-Fi in the room, which is critical for us as remote workers. But that’s an easy fix, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Highly recommended! 🌟
- Serena (8/5): -
- Casey (10/5): -
- Judith (10/5): A great hotel - This is a lovely hotel, the staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. They couldn't have been nicer Nothing- it was lovely
- Chua (10/5): -
- Benjamin (9/5): -
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): - The staff were so helpful in every way, friendly and went out of their way to improve our stay
- Emily (10/5): - Great stay, lovely hotel with a fantastic breakfast. Can’t recommend enough.
Only negative is they need bikes for taller people.
- Garry (10/5): - I stayed 3 nights and loved the garden ambience and retreat from outside. The manager, she was extremely helpful to any requests and immediately attended to any issue. Also a special mention to Cookie at reception, who performed his many duties with a continuous smile.
Overall a very pleasant stay, and I would recommend for this price range.

- John Scott (10/5): - My family and I loved staying at this property! The rooms were quiet, pretty, and clean. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the breakfast in the open courtyard - delicious food in a beautiful spot. We had some issues with the wifi in our room, but overall highly recommend this hotel!
- Surendra (8/5): - I had a very good stay at this cute and quiet place. Except that the air conditioning doesn’t completely cool off to the set temperature, it is a nice facility. It is conveniently located with some major attractions within short walking distance. Many restaurants around this place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. AC does certainly keep the room cooler than outside temperature and fan can help.
Breakfast was good with decent number of options. Service was very good.
I had an evening flight so they kindly extended the stay for a few hours.
Good place to stay!
- Thomas (10/5): - The hotel was a beautiful oasis. Breakfast was made to order and served in the lovely garden. Most important was the friendly staff of this hotel. They took such good care of us and treated us like family. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Karina (10/5): Great choice in Luang Prabang. Very comfortable for the money. - We liked the location, close to a beautiful temple and the monks walk by for their alms, at 6:30am.
Beautiful courtyard to get most delicious breakfast. Nice managers helping with all our needs. We liked everything .
- Sylvain (10/5): - Great option in Luang Prabang
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Wonderful boutique hotel in a perfect location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lotus Villa delivered the best sleep we've had in years.
- John (10/5): - Great value hotel with rooms set round a shady courtyard right in the middle of the historic bit of Luang Prabang and right on the route the monks take every morning. Great breakfast. Staff really helpful.
- Tina (10/5): Lovely hotel - This boutique hotel was wonderful. The staff were helpful and friendly. The free breakfast in the courtyard was an excellent escape from the hustle of travel.
- Frances (8/5): Comfortable accomodation, very pleasant staff. I would stay here again. - Fabulous breakfast, good location Room a little dark, poor hanging space for clothes
- Tamasin (8/5): Charming villa in a wonderful location with friendly staff. - The central courtyard garden was beautiful, as was the quaint, teak-clad room. A substantial breakfast with lots of options was served in the beautiful garden setting. The staff were friendly and helpful. Koukie taught me some Lao and we had some lovely conversations, in English.
The central location in the old historic part of town allowed me to step outside the door, one morning, to see the alms giving procession of the monks. The room was very small for a twin share and had limited storage space to unpack. The toilet door didn't shut properly.
We returned to Lotus Villa because one of our party had stayed 6 years earlier and the atmosphere had changed and facilities were more rundown so the value seemed less. There was no longer daily afternoon tea and little presents. It was our most expensive stay in Laos but definitely wasn't the most luxurious.
- Sophia (10/5): - Lovely quaint hotel with absolutely lovely and helpful staff.
- Fern (10/5): - Donna and i thought the staff was outstanding, very friendly and helpful. Very accommodating. Made our stay excellent. Breakfast was fantastic. We couldn't ask for a better place to stay in luang prabang and we plan to come back!!!
- Rolf (9/5): Nice Hotel in the midle of town. - Nice little Hotel in the center of town, with very reasonable prices.Very friendly and helpful personal. No own Restaurant, BUT just across the road a very nice and lively Restaurant/Bar. Breakfast in the jungle garden is a must.
- Jacqueline (9/5): Excellent position. Quiet, charming street between much busier parallel streets. Good for walking. - Lovely courtyard to take an excellent (included) breakfast each morning. Also a nice spot to just retreat to if not wanting to be in your room or outside. The staff were super nice. My family (with kids) had the Orchid Suite, which was large with a balcony overlooking the street. Other rooms (for just 2 people) are obviously not so big and somewhat darker. If I were just travelling one other and could afford the larger room, I think it's worth it. In my room (above the kitchen) it seemed that hot water ran out pretty quickly if we showered in the evening instead of the afternoon. Also, on just one occasion out of 5 nights (I had booked 4 nights separately), the neighbours on the side street were noisy.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Quiet street between 2 much busier streets that together, make up the most of the UNESXO old town. Very charming & convenient.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tony (10/5): - Fantastic hotel in the old town. Great staff and enjoyed the breakfast.
- roderick william (10/5): - Staying here was a very enjoyable experience. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were absolutely delightful and went out of their way to help us. The breakfast was extensive and very enjoyable. You are in a very nice part of Luang Prabang and the main areas are easily accessed on foot. Next to the hotel are good quality restaurants. If I came to Luang Prabang again I would definitely stay at the Lotus Villa Boutique again.
- Kevin (10/5): Cute and Centrally Located Hotel - Really cute hotel located in the heart of old town. The property is very old but well kept. The staff were very attentive - some have limited English proficiency but we managed. On our first night we noticed there was limited hot water, so we all ended up keeping our showers short so there was enough hot water for everyone.
- Galina (9/5): Superb -
- Numpueng (10/5): Fastastic - Good location near top tourist attractions by walking.Staffs are very friendly.Although, Breakfast does not have several options, they have good taste.Overall, staying here is superb.
- Bopaya (10/5): - Great location! Friendly staff!!
- Mike (6/5): - The hotel was nice but average. Our stay was only for one night. Very convenient to many restaurants and night markets.
- Tracey (10/5): Gorgeous, boutique style room and friendly staff - My room was gorgeous - quite a large dark wood panelled room with a balcony overlooking the garden and a big comfortable bed. It’s on one of the roads that the monks pass by on the alms giving ceremony early morning, so it’s easy to just roll out of bed and go and see the ceremony. Also they have complimentary bicycles to borrow which was really useful.
- Antonio (10/5): - The hotel is perfectly located and the staff were kind and very efficient. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Kamran (8/5): - Great value for a place in a central location. Staff were very attentive and helpful!
- Fareda (8/5): Very good -
- Henry (8/5): Overall Good - The staff are friendly and helpful.
The setback are the room lighting is too dim and mosquito.
- Kingsadeth (10/5): - Well service
- Tina (10/5): Great atmosphere and close to main attractions - Amazing staff and service, rooms were clean and comfortable, good ambiance.
- Mike (10/5): On a quiet, lovely street in the historic part of town. Staff are so nice! Brekkie is yum! - We were met at the airport by the staff driver, who spoke great English and told us a lot about the area. Check in was smooth and the staff...the day and night staff and the cleaning staff as well...are so lovely. Polite, helpful, and just so charming. The room is traditional style, so wood everywhere, including wooden door and window shutters (outside the glass ones), which I love. The bed was really comfortable, so we slept well. It's really a quiet part of town, with maybe a bit of commotion when the Monks do the procession up the street, but we were up for that anyway to watch (the back to bed lol). Breakfast goes later than most places, finishing at 11. And be sure to try the omelette there. They make it Laos style, so it has coriander/cilantro in it. I could eat those every day and never get tired. There's one of the more famous temples just up the road that has really unusual mosaic and inlay work, so be sure to see that.
- Gibran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shoji (10/5): - This was a quiet and tranquil stay, which soothed my stress a lot.
It is not a gorgeous hotel, but it has a cozy and friendly atmosphere with kind and attentive staff.
If you want to just relax during your stay, you should choose this one.
- James (8/5): Very good - Great location. No heat in the room. Cold at night.
- Justin (10/5): - This place was great. It had a very charming atmosphere. My room, while simple, was tastefully designed. There was no TV, but I didn't miss it one bit. The garden courtyard was a great place to unwind with a book or enjoy breakfast, which, I might add was quite good. I liked that, rather than being a warmed-over buffet on steam tables, it was a simple menu with just enough choices, and it was all made to order. The location was also great — plenty of dining options nearby, just a few blocks away from the riverfront, and if you are willing to wake up early enough, you can watch the Buddhist monks doing their morning alms right outside the front door. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.
- Louise (10/5): - Clean, decent wifi, good location for walking in Luang Prabang, the monks come by the street out front from 6-7am every day. Only small drawback is an occasionally noisy cantina across the street. Lovely staff
- Yasmin (10/5): - A perfect location within easy reach of temples, markets , restaurants. See the Buddhist monks passing each morning to receive tokens from both residents and tourists. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is exceptional. Breakfast was plentiful. I will recommend the Lotus Villa Boutique Hotel to anyone wanting to visit the most friendliest country in Asia , a perfect Gem
- ROBIN (10/5): - We were so happy with our stay at LVBH. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfasts were made to order, the location was so central to everything we needed in the lovely old town of Luang Prabang.
We were there in LP for a bike/trekking trip so returning after several hard days was such a pleasure. They helped us with laundry, airport transfer and just kindness and direction as needed.
Will definitely return some day.
- Chad (10/5): - Excellent small hotel, very friendly staff, great breakfasts, and one of the best locations in town. We will definitely stay here again.
- Wyndham (7/5): Peaceful quiet rooms surrounding a garden courtyard - The rooms look into a garden courtyard with frangipani, bananas and palms making it peaceful to be in for breakfast or just from the balcony or terraces to the rooms. This is rare at this price in this part of Luang Prabang, We have stayed before and it was comfortable, friendly, good breakfasts and a great cleaning team who do the room every day.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (10/5): Excellent hotel! - This is a great little hotel. We stayed for a week and it did not disappoint. Its in a great location. The staff are extremely helpful & friendly. The upstairs rooms were very comfortable & clean with a private balcony at one side & at the street side a shared balcony from which you can see the monks come past for alms. Good showers. Breakfasts were exceptional in the beautiful courtyard - don't miss the baguette toast with homemade coconut & tamarind jam with a cup of smoked Lao tea. Would definitely return here again. The only addition I can think of would be a fan for the private balconies.
