- Olivia (5/5): A bit dissatisfied for the price - Location is good, close to Black Sands Beach. Pretty trees in front and around property. Honestly, for the price the hotel was disappointing. Nothing bad- just veryyy veryy dated amenities and rooms- walls very thin and beds were not very comfy. Big reason we booked was for fun water slide and it was “closed on Thursdays”. Super sad about that. Also on a side note the hallways are very dark.. like oddly dark. And hardly any lights on in the lobby when we arrived? My husband and I both noticed that and thought it was a little unsettling. The room was clean and the front desk service staff was nice upon arrival.

The rolling shower was a litte narrow. But worked just fine after mopping up the floor. Hurt my leg on the shower seat when it came down and cut the back of my leg.

- Tami (8/5): Nice stay for a short get away. - Great location - central to everywhere I was going The room hadn’t been used in a while as there was dust on the ice bucket lid and on the lamps. When I went to pick up some ice cubes I dropped I saw toe nail clippings on the floor - ew. But I alerted the staff to it and they were prompt to clean it up.

- Gwendolyn (4/5): - Gwen, the lady who checked me in for our stay was terribly rude and gave no information whatsoever about the hotel. The bed was incredibly hard and very uncomfortable. The tiny square pillows made it even more uncomfortable.
- Rebecca (9/5): WONDERFUL - The room was perfect for myself, and my daughters family. We booked this place for the toddler/child slide for my granddaughter, and ended up using the slide all night. So all of us adults showed the child what fun is about. The hot tub was immaculate when we were able to get in, and the bedroom had a wonderful view. I especially liked that it was up the road from Black Beach, as the last time my daughter and I were up here at the beach, this hotel was being built. It has exceeded my expectations in quality. I'm not sure there is anything that we could have complained about. The beach was wonderful, mini golf, and the pool.

Tried talking with manager but he refused to talk about anything. Was only trying to have the $250 reduced to at least $180. - Andy (1/5): Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me - The location is excellent, no one can deny that. The bed was fairly comfortable as well. This is a two star hotel charging 3+ hotel prices. Room was dirty, dust on the nightstand, lamps, dried spit and hair in the sink and some type of hair (yes that hair) in the bathtub. The fast charge cpad on both lamps didn't work, the microwave didn't work. Thankfully the AC worked - I was surprised. A bunch of dirt and grime - maybe mold - in the vent in the bathroom. Breakfast was not good. The egg omlette were mildly warm if that and the sausage links could have been from a year ago they were so over cooked. If I needed jerky I would have been set. I stayed at this property three years ago and was disappointed then. Now that it's under a different name (I was assuming new ownership) I thought things may have changed. I was wrong. Another extremely disappointing experience. For the price they charage the quality of the stay and facilities was ridiculous. I won't make the mistake of staying here a third time. I'd rather drive an hour out of my way (or more) than stay here again. The only thing this hotel has going for it is location. Everything else you can find being done better at almost every other hotel.

- Gail (8/5): - We enjoyed Black Beach Inn for the convenience of a mini getaway with our dog. The pet friendly room was perfect. Maybe a suggestion is to remove all the carpeting. We could access the outside on the ground floor to pet area right from our room. We didn't stay here for the view of the lake because there is minimal views. I knew we were going to be outside seeing the sights all day and just needed a place to chill in the evening. Our room was clean. I used the public pool/hot tub felt great after a day of hiking. Our room also had the jacuzzi tub for relaxing in after a day of hiking. Overall we enjoyed the stay. Dining option were limited. We tried Cove Point Crossings pizza one night and the second day we were in Grand Marais and many dining options there.

- Dan (8/5): Memories - My wife and I did the mile slide challenge. Being over 45 and going down the slide 48 times was a great workout. Also, one can’t beat the location.
