• daisyandsnowball (10/5): - What a personal and intimate experience! It was beautifully quiet, secluded and just steps from the airport. Even so, we NEVER HEARD any planes! Multiple rooms surrounding the pool, but it felt very private. Couldn't eat better than what Dan provided at reasonable cost with special attention! Made friends with his dogs, one of them "adopted" me and occasionally would sleep on guard outside our room while I napped in the afternoons. Miss him already! Cant wait to return!

I walked there from the airport and instantly felt like I had my own private villa. The space is peaceful, cozy, and personal—nothing like a big resort. Daniel and Lalo went above and beyond. Daniel made me delicious meals whenever I wanted, they happily arranged cabs for me, and the whole vibe was so welcoming. I even met another great couple finishing their open water diver certification, and it made the stay feel like a little community. It truly felt like a home away from home—and I already can’t wait to return.
• Daniel (10/5): - Our flight was cancelled, so we had to rush to find a place close to the airport. There are two Daniels here, one the owner, the other the cairtaker and cook. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel welcome and cared for. This may seem like a tiny, simple place, but it is a real find. If you're looking for a place for a short stop-over, this is it! We can't recommend it highly enough.

• David (8/5): Anniversary Trip to Coz - This hotel is a great value. 3 minute walk from the airport. Reasonable cab rides ($6-$20) to anywhere on the island. Room was large and very comfortable and we slept well in the king size bed. Staff does a great job taking care of its guests. Thank you Eduardo and Daniel for taking great care of us including the special anniversary dinner.

This place truly made our trip to Cozumel special and I would definitely stay again.

However, the family suite for our family of 4 was perfect, extremely comfortable and the owner was extremely helpful and friendly, he got out a floating hoop and my kids had a blast playing basketball on the pool. He then even walked us down to a restaurant for dinner. Location is quite literally across the street from the airport, if we hadn't had so many bags and car seats we could have easily walked. Hope that if we are ever in Cozumel again, we will plan to stay here.

• OnAir57208491035 (10/5): Paradise in Paradise - I’ve stayed at several different hotels and AirBnB’s in Cozumel, Casita de Maya was, for me, the best. I travel to Cozumel solely to scuba dive and then just relax. No interest in sightseeing, nightlife, exploring, just wanna dive and chill. Casita de Maya offered all that. Off the beaten path, quiet neighborhood, and everything I need is there. Coffee, breakfast, and dinner. Room was nice and comfortable. Good a/c, hot water, daily housekeeping. Just perfect.

Stayed in King Size room, nice size room with mini split AC, TV with Roku, closet with hangars, sink with soap, shower with towels and soap. Beach towels available. Outside door a table with chairs to enjoy meals outside under the palapa. Can order food on site. We rented a car instead of dealing with taxis and parked on-site. We would stay here again.

He is very knowledgeable about the island & travel in general. To start we were greeted by his fur buddies Chocolate, Whiskers, Freddie, & White Dog♥️ Totally warmed our hearts!!! Eduardo greeted us with a smile & had our rooms ready quickly! Owner Daniel & His little fur buddies walked us to Don Jose (excellent & affordable). Chef Daniel made us a tasty evening cocktail & a delicious breakfast, chef is absolutely adorable! Excellent way to spend our last day/night in Cozumel. Literally 1-2 minute walk to a residential park and 3-5 walk to the airport! Car rental right next to hotel if needed for excursions. Bar & sundeck above hotel nice to lounge! Strong WiFi, Roku tv in room, fridge, microwave, very cool A/C with fans, great open shower, shampoo/ soap, filtered bottled water, ultra soft toilet paper, towels for clean pool, tables and lounge chairs in courtyard. We had keys to front gait & our room like having our own villa. Thank you!!!

• Scubagirl35 (10/5): Wonderful stay! - My family and I stayed here December 26th through January 1st. This is a great place. The owner, Dan, was extremely helpful and provided great recommendations for restaurants and a wonderful beach club, Buccanos, which I highly recommend. Chef Daniel cooked delicious breakfasts for us and always greeted us warmly, and even helped get us taxis to/from the dive shop we used (Deep Blue.) Overall, Casita de Maya is a great home base for Cozumel. It's affordable, charming, literally right across from the airport, and the staff treats you like family. Thanks Dan and to the entire staff!
• stihlydan (10/5): Small, quaint and relaxing - This is a hidden gem amongst a residential neighborhood within walking distance of the airport. Don't let others tell you differently, it is safe to journey around even the deepest regions of Cozumel. The views of the culture are wonderful to see. Everyone, primarily Chef Daniel and Edwardo, are 2 of the greatest people you will meet at any destination. Chef Daniel is a top notch gourmet cook and will delight you non-stop. He also makes extraordinary drinks and his bloody Mary and margarita will not disappoint. He comes from many years at a large hotel. One thing to keep in mind is there is no kitchen at Casita. Chef Daniel must go to his home to prepare meals. Drinks are prepared on sight. That bothered me to put him out of his way to cook. Running back and forth to his home with meals on a motorcycle. This was the only thing that I could say was other than perfect and keep in mind, it's only a feeling of mine. Again the food was beyond great. The hustle and bustle are a few miles away at the waterfront, where the cruise ships anchor. I like being away from that and being able to visit it with a short 100 peso cab ride whenever you want. If you want crowds all the time of tourists, book your room there. But keep in mind, Casita is the number one or number 2 ranked hotel on the island. One tip, stores at the waterfront charge more while the ships are in port. Wait till after 5 when they pull out to negotiate better prices of bobbles and trinkets. Daniel the manager (not Chef Daniel) can help with daily activities, getting a cab or rental car or anything else you may need. He has several connections. Today as I write this review, we are preparing to go on the 3 hour gourmet pirate dinner cruise on a pirate ship. All the alcohol you want for about $85 per person. I will try to check back in to inform how the cruise was.
• Reneeb1214 (10/5): Charming little find - This hotel is very small, but has a more authentic feel to it. Dan, the owner, and his staff are kind, welcoming, and they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Dan was even kind enough to walk us over to a new restaurant for dinner! We enjoyed a lovely evening in the courtyard, dipping our feet in the pool after a very long day, having delicious drinks. Coffee was served right to our door next morning promptly at 9:00, and they sent us on our way to the next place. The rooms are adorable, and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient place to stay near the airport.

• Chefbrandon79 (10/5): Relax and chill - Hotel is super cute with pool and wonderful patio. Walking distance from airport and they can help you set up transportation and activities. Owner Dan really looks out for your best interest and Eduardo and his wonderful family takes care of the grounds and basically your every need. Rooms were clean and we were well taken care of. We rented a moped for the week and we’re able to get anywhere on the island easily from this hotel so you will need transportation. They have parking available and really go above and beyond. Food is available to order by Chef Dan as well as many local restaurants not far and of course the main strip if that’s what you desire (5 minutes drive). This was a wonderful hotel experience where we were taken care of without the hassle of being in the middle of all the tourist area, loud music, and partying. We loved casita de maya. • Linda (10/5): - When visiting Cozumel, this is the place you have to stay. The hotel is very small and peaceful, but you still have your privacy. It is built and decorated beautifully. The staff and owner are incredibly friendly and helpful. I would feel extremely comfortable traveling here alone as a young woman. The chef is excellent and cares a lot about what he is serving you. The bed was super comfortable, great water pressure/temperature, and great AC. The TV comes with a Roku so we were able to relax in the evenings and watch our favorite shows. The neighborhood is very safe and cute. It’s not in the heart of downtown, but we preferred that. You can walk or rent a scooter. It’s also a five minute walk (tops) from the airport, but it’s not a very busy airport so it wasn’t loud or an inconvenience. 10/10 we will definitely being staying here again!

• Leslie (10/5): - Loved our 3-night stay here! Close to the airport-we walked. Daniel is a wonderful cook, and we especially enjoyed his fajitas and all the delicious seasoned veggies and rice. He is a kind soul with a wonderful sense of humor! Dan, the owner, is friendly as well, and he helped us in myriad ways as we mapped out our plans each day. Our room opened up to the courtyard and small pool area, which we loved. Just 7 rooms here but 3 floors. We felt safe, cool, and comfortable. Grateful for all their help and kindness! We hope to return!
• propaneKauai (10/5): Wonderful place - All the reviews sum things up pretty well! This is a wonderful place. We had stayed a week at the Presidente resort, and while very nice and great for snorkeling, it was also very expensive. A 2-day flight delay required us to change hotels and we thought we'd go with the one closest to - across the street from - the airport. Very handy. What a bonus that it is such a wonderful little hotel! Very comfortable, great meals, clean rooms, charming atmosphere and very friendly staff. Dan, the owner, is never intrusive but always helpful with advice and practical matters - he even drove us down to get our pre-flight Covid tests! We loved being in town and away from Resortland. The area is very safe and our post-dinner walk back from El Moro (great restaurant) was downright romantic. The legendary Diego's is a block away for an easy lunch and cabs are readily available to go to the center of town, though it is certainly walkable if you enjoy walking. Of course you will want to get to the ocean while you are in Cozumel! Easily arranged, though if you have time it might make sense to spend half your stay at a place on the water and half at Casita de Maya. In any event, it is a wonderful place.

• Roam57348950267 (10/5): Must Love Dogs - Must Love Dogs This boutique hotel was the perfect chill out spot. Convenient-we walked to the hotel from the airport . Yes it’s literally a 5 minute walk. When you exit the airport. Look for the Alamo car rental sign (across the street) the hotel is located next to the Alamo. Check in was seamless. If you have knee issues ask for one of the 1st floor rooms. The stairs to the 2nd level are a little steep. Rooms are comfortable. We stayed on the second level which had a lounge deck right off of our room . Great spot for morning coffee, breakfast or cigar smoke. The service was impeccable from Dan and his small staff (Daniel, Eduardo, Joli). If he's available, he'll run you to nearby places in his car. We caught up on our steps by walking to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. We were also impressed with how friendly the locals are and how we felt safe, even after dark. We went to the waterfront where the ships dock, but didn't like how aggressive the shop owners were to get you into their places of business. We literally ran to escape the relentless requests and got back to the less touristy neighborhoods. There are a few resident dogs that we found to be utterly delightful. Super friendly. There were also a couple of puppies next door at the rental car place that my wife would've smuggled home if she could've. (They, and their mom were adopted by the locals before we left). A great home away from home with Dan, the best host on the island. If you love dogs and like a laid back place to stay, this is your spot.
• Rebecca (10/5): - I just needed a place close to the airport for one night after returning my rental car. It was in a pretty quiet area and close enough to walk to the ocean front or into town too. I think I might’ve been the only occupant that night, so I was able to have the pool all to myself after checkout. The chef was out of town, so didn’t try the food or breakfast…but do try Diego’s tacos 1 block away. Very good! Room was clean, bed very comfortable, nice older hacienda style rooms and building. Ceiling fan cooled the room but A/C also available. Good place to stay when you need to be close to airport.

• Cyclesarecool (10/5): Great hotel - Joli, Eduardo, Daniel and Dan are the best hosts on the island. The hotel is great. It has a bed and breafast feel that can't be beaten. Dan has contacts everywhere and can hook you up with rentals, tours, food or whatever you need. I am definitely coming back.
• Scott (10/5): - I couldn't have been treated with more kindness. I was fortunate enough to, for the most part, be the sole guest just before the season begins (Nov.1). Thus, I got to know Dan, Daniel, Eduardo, and Jolie on a personal level. We are now amigos, as I've decided to stay and live in Cozumel. I've met their their families, been taken to cantinas and family-owned restaurants, and feel like I've found a center. None of this would have been possible w/o the people at Casita de Maya. I will always be grateful for the experience and the positive changes in my life.
• 687kh (10/5): Just Like Home - Definitely just like home and family! Probably our 19th time staying at Casita de Maya and just as lovely and wonderful as the first! Rooms, AC and location all great, but what makes the place is the owner Dan and the entire staff! So accommodating, helpful and top notch service! Daniel (the cook) prepares wonderful dishes, even on short notice, Jolie keeps rooms in spotless condition and Eduardo an all around great guy and can help with anything! And lets not forget the 3 dogs, Freddy, Bigotes and Cholat,,,your home away from home pets! All safety protocols followed A wonderful place and would never dream of staying anywhere else! Looking forward to the 11th visit!
• VILLIE (6/5): - I stayed at this guest house during my Ironman 70.3 race. It is walking distance from the airport and about one mile from the convention center. I walked to the downtown area a few times. The employees and owner are helpful in any way they can. I did have an issue with the tv because it was making a humming noise after being on for a short while, and it didn’t get resolved. I imagine it’ll be replaced in the mear future? Anyhow. They do offer laundry service, chef Daniel will prepare any meal for you at any time you wish to eat, and they’ll flag a can for you if you need one. The pool is really the only amenity there, and it’s quite nice. If you forget your mosquito repellent, they’ll kindly spray you until you get your own. Overall, if you want to be closer to the ocean or the downtown area, this may not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for a clean, peaceful place to stay, you’ll definitely enjoy your stay here.

Our flight got delayed from 6 pm until 8 am the next day and we were able to get adjoining rooms for our group of 5. They were so welcoming and even fixed my two teenage sons food at 10 at night. We are very grateful for the hospitality shown to us at a very stressful time! Rooms were clean and well kept and the pool area was super cute and would be a fun place to hang out and visit had we been their longer. The ac units worked well and we had a great nights sleep. • 471Drettmudd (10/5): We will be back! - Wow, the hospitality showed to our family was incredible. Dan and the team really worked hard to ensure we were well taken care of. Daniels guacamole was the best on the island. The whole team worked hard to ensure our stay was great even in the rain. If your looking for 5 star luxury this is not it. If your looking for a quaint heartfelt, great time with cold beer, clean, safe, and run by fantastic people than this is your spot. Find this hidden gem! We were going to stay at an all inclusive 4 star spot but cancelled our reservations when we saw all poor reviews of the food. We wanted our kids to feel the Cozumel vibe not just stay at a resort. Dan gave us so many great restaurant rec's as well as fantastic beach clubs. We lived like kings eating, drinking and snorkeling our way though the island and had a blast. Big shout out the the team who made our stay special, we look forward to returning. Pro tip: ask Dan to assist with Jeep rental. Also DO NOT CAB from the airport. We walked and I had 5 large bags and my 2 young daughters! We were fine.
• stvdfr (10/5): Soooo accommodating! - This one night stay at this sweet hotel was one of the highlights of our trip. So personal, the staff totally bent over backwards to make our stay the best it could be. We had a nice dinner made by the resident chef and the kids enjoyed swimming in the pool. It was very chill and relaxing to sit by the pool, drink in hand and listen to the music playing softly in the background. The rooms were clean and authentic. This place couldn’t have been more perfect for us. I was a little worried it wasn’t on the beach, but we didn’t miss it. We had to leave to catch the ferry at 6:15 and a taxi was called and coffee was hot for us on the way out the door. Thank you so much Dan and Daniel for your kindness and hospitality.

• 853marcieb (10/5): The absolute best place to stay in Cozumel! - This is the only place I will stay when I come to Cozumel! It is close to the airport (walking distance), and it is close to the beaches and all of the restaurants and shopping (quick taxi ride). Dan and his staff will provide you with not only everything you need at the hotel but every tip and trick to have the best experience possible while you are in Cozumel. The staff is bilingual and incredibly generous and kind. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The pool is fantastic, and the amenities can't be beaten. And if that is not enough, Daniel, the chef will provide you with the best food on the island. If you don't come to stay, at least come to eat!! I cannot say enough good things about my time at this boutique hotel!

• GDTQuemadotx (10/5): End Visit And Still Great - I am leaving the hotel today after staying there for a week. This is my third visit and it is awesome. A small quiet hotel with truly friendly folks. It is close to the airport, but extremely quiet and private. I rented a car, but cheap taxi service is available for the 5 minute drive to the main plaza. The rooms are immaculate and the A/C units are mini splits. When it is a little warmer the pool is 5 steps from your room for a morning plunge. My only complaint is that I had to leave.
• 126kelleym (10/5): Hidden Gem! - This was such a great find. My family stayed at this quaint hotel for 2 nights. It is fantastic! The rooms were spacious and clean - stayed in connecting rooms on the main level. One room had 2 twin beds and the other a double bed. There are a couple of lounge chairs by the pool and various sitting areas as well. It is a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Daniel, the manager, was wonderful and he took very good care of us. He cooked us breakfast both mornings and it was delicious! It is located across the street from the airport so we were able to walk. Highly recommend!

Danial, a local resident cooked our breakfast every morning and dinner every night and brought it to our patio with a smile. It is the only place my wife and I will stay from now on when in Cozumel. Whoever took this picture was standing just outside our room where we had our special meals every day. To top it off, you can walk to the airport as it is just across the street sit in a nice neighborhood. Dan and his staff were magnificent and they treat their guests like royalty.

When leaving you can check in your luggage and come back for a nice breakfast before leaving. The onsite cook Daniel will cook whatever you desire and does an awesome job. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. If you are an experienced Cozumel traveler you must stay here vs an AI. The price is right, the place is right and the staff are dynamite!

• Stephanie (10/5): My new home away from home! - What can I say about this place? 1st I can say that I could not pass up staying here after reading the reviews, once our flight changed dates. 2nd I can say I AM SO GLAD WE DID! My husband and I absolutely loved staying here, so much so that my husband and I came back 2 other times during our trip to just eat, have a drink or hang out with everyone after we checked into our new hotel. Yes, we loved it and the staff that much! Dan took amazing care of us, answered every question and knows so much about the area and is willing to point you toward anything you want to do. The location is safe, we felt fine walking around and venturing out on our own. Daniel went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, well fed and had whatever we wanted to drink or eat, even when we were not staying there but came back. We even ended up heading into town to watch football and sharing a cab with Dans long time friend Gary, who is also a fixture at the Hotel. Not to mention the dogs that Dan and his staff lovingly care for who have made it their safe haven as well. We almost ended up bringing one home (but that is another story). All of this just shows what amazing people they all are. This place makes you feel like family, welcomed and cherished from the moment you walk through the door. I will go back and will tell everyone else to go there as well!

We used Casita as a homebase while we explored Cozumel. In between outings, Daniel the resident chef/barkeeper, was always ready to prepare a cool beverage or a home-cooked meal for us. We walked (yes- walked!) from the Cozumel airport to Casita, maybe 5 minutes. Downtown is about a 25 minute walk or a $5 cab ride away. A really nice place to stay, our room was pretty much new, nice decor, everything you need.

Now being almost a quarter of the cost per night here they are close to 20 or so resturants and plenty of shopping. They also have a chef there for breakfast and dinner. Biggest plus was that they were close to the airport! Usually this would ruin a vacation but the only way you would know its there is if you were outside on 4th floor looking at airport. Because its so close i checked my bags in early and didnt have to sit there for 2 hrs and leave my resort another 2 hours early to make it there in time due to heavy downtown traffic. I was literaly in the pool up until the plane landed, hopped in the shower and walked down the street and got on plane and saved over $100 in taxi fees because dan had my scooter delivered to the hotel and picked up from there! Who does that?! Thanks dan and see you next time.

• N (10/5): WONDERFUL!!! - Casita de Maya is comparable to staying at a five star hotel. The rooms are eloquently decorated with beautiful and unique pieces. The bedding is Premium +++. The doors to each room are exquisite. Each room provides a microwave and refrigerator as well as two gorgeous place settings. I loved the big television with Roku. The staff is excellent. Dan the owner, and his dog Freddie are there at the property always to guarantee you have any and everything you could possibly need for a most remarkable and memorable stay. Don’t even think twice about staying here. You WILL NOT BE SORRY!!! Thank you Casaita de Maya for one of the best weeks I’ve ever spent away from home !!!!

• Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - Wife and I were only in Cozumel one night and Casita De Maya was just what we needed. We walked from the airport to check in. Dan called his scooter guy and within 20 min of arrival we were on the road, scouting out the beach clubs on the remote side of the Island. CDM is the MY textbook definition of what I think of when I hear Boutique hotel. It had everything we needed, or asked for. And I have no doubt, Dan will make sure you have anything you need. Also, we loved chatting with him. We shared a lot in common. Don't worry about the airport being close. We think we heard one plane and it was more of a question, we asked each other - was that a plane? We decided it was. Trying to add some value to this review. Only thing I can think to comment on is - this is a small, layback, quiet hotel, so if you are a louder, rowdy couple/group, you might want to consider another place. For us, it was perfect. We will be back without a doubt. Thanks Dan and staff for everything!
• Troy (10/5): Canadian Owner and wonderful staff - I enjoyed my stay at Casita de Maya while in Cozumel. The staff especially the main man Daniel were excellent. The hotel is not close to ferry or the tourist area of Cozumel it is right beside the airport and is very quiet location. Daniel will do anything he can to make your stay enjoyable he made sure everyday to see if I wanted breakfast or dinner for that day. If your going to have a scooter rental he gets the company to come to the hotel to so you dont have to go to them ($35 US per day). The rooms are very roomy, clean and well set up. I would have no hesitation to recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Cozumel.
