- Marilyn (10/5): This was a perfect getaway to spend time with my granddaughters. - We lived the location - very private and surrounded by nature. We could hear the ocean wherever we were. The meals were outstanding. Great chef. We also loved the hospitality by everyone There was nothing to not like.

Would stay again! - It was so pretty, the view was amazing , the dining onsite was wonderful, the room was spacious and way better than I expected....way, way, waaaayyyyy better. I guess, since I travel with me dog, I've gotten used to sub-par spaces. The Inn by the Sea's room was perfect. I can't believe I got a room with carpeting! A room that didn't faintly smell like pee! And the bathroom was-WOW!! I told this to the front desk...if a person books a room and it is indicated they are bringing a dog-please, please, please inform them that the beach, (probably the reason the place was picked) is closed to dogs...even temporarily, (the beach was closed to dogs for a few weeks because it's nesting season for a rare shore bird). Not the Inn's fault...but it was something known when I booked. I loved the hotel but I wanted a beach walkable to the Inn where I could play with my dog. Now, there was a beach that was nearby, (not walkable to though) that I was directed to and that was nice...maybe that's all that needs to be posted to people.

- JackieK1165 (10/5): Beautiful, pampered, serene, and super pet friendly - Lovely stay at the Inn by the Sea. Guest services was so nice when we got there. They were extremely welcoming to our dog Hazel and provided lots of treats and accommodations specifically for her. There was a pet friendly cafe area with a fireplace where they offered a full menu as well as a pet friendly menu. The environment was so warm and peaceful even the dogs were at ease, I never heard one dog bark the entire time we were there. We stayed in one of the garden suites where we had patio access to the lawn right outside our room. The views of the ocean were beautiful. The suite itself was newly renovated, so clean and comfortable with a massive soaking tub. The walls were thick and we didn't hear any other guests. It felt very private. We used the wonderful spa services, one of us had a massage while the other used the steam room. We felt so refreshed and rejuvenated. - pat2011w2015 (10/5): A wonderful off-season repite. - Another lovely time at this Inn in Maine. We got to relax, eat good food, walk on the beach every day. We love that the beach is so accessible. No need to drive anywhere. However, on a rainy day we went to Portland to the museum there. It is a very short drive and well worth it. Our room was beautiful, as is the entire inn. Not many inns have original artwork on the walls, which made it very unique. Each year in the off season they pair with Habitat for Humanity. Rooms are half price if you make a $35 donation to Habitat.
- O3216GVmikes (10/5): Wonderful off season - Staff upgraded our room to a lovely two bedroom suite after construction was being done outside our original room. We were very pleasantly surprised by a snow storm making it extra special sitting near the fireplace. We were mid-week off season and almost had the Inn to ourselves. The food was wonderful, staff was friendly and professional. We had very relaxing massages and left feeling rejuvenated and recharged. My thanks to the staff at both the Inn and the Spa for such a wonderful stay.
- Guide33258705559 (8/5): Warm and Welcoming - and close to Portland - Although the weather did not cooperate with our March weekend, the Inn was lovely - comfortable, with exceptional dining (both dinner - with a great selection of local beer - and breakfast) and genuinely friendly staff. However, because of the drizzle and thick fog, we were not able to enjoy the outdoor porch facing the water, and didn't walk down to the beach. The lack of a traditional lobby meant I stayed int eh room to read/have my morning coffee before sneaking in to the not-yet-open restaurant to sit by the window. The guest room had all of the amenities needed, including an easy-to-follow Smart TV, espresso maker, bottled tap water, slippers, and great-smelling toiletries. The bedding was especially warm and comfortable. Great place to stay for a day of exploring Portland mixed with a relaxing beach evening.

Our team held an offsite there in February, the day after a major snowstorm, and Laurie, our onsite contact, was incredibly flexible and supportive given the weather challenges. Our group also had several dietary restrictions, and the team handled everything beautifully. The food was excellent, options were clearly labeled, and everyone felt well accommodated. Jessica provided outstanding service throughout, and Laurie made the entire planning process seamless. I enjoyed it so much that I’m already planning a personal trip back in a few months. Highly recommend for work or personal. It's a beautiful property.

- 224mbc (10/5): Please do relax at the Inn by the Sea! - The weekend was all around excellent. The staff at the hotel is extremely friendly. The food at the restaurant is top-notch. Recommend sitting in the corner booth near the fireplace in the bar area for breakfast--it was totally cozy and warm! The spa is excellent. The massages were perfection and the full-experience shower was incredible. We've visited a few times over the years and the Inn never fails to delight! It's a lovely spot right on the ocean that makes you feel miles away from reality. A completely relaxing weekend!

- X4299TAjamesf (10/5): Friendly Staff, Breathtaking Views, and Cozy Rooms - The Inn by the Sea is an excellent getaway for couples looking to spend some time near the ocean and recharge their batteries. It was quiet, peaceful, and very cozy. The staff are all accommodating and very friendly which always makes it easier to feel welcome when staying anywhere away from home. The rate we paid for our room was a fantastic deal because we went during the winter months, but the philanthropic efforts of the Inn also made it very affordable to stay there (and donate to a very worthy cause!). We will be back again in the future for certain.

- CS1Portland (10/5): Lovely annual winter charity event - Joined friends C&N, for our 3rd/4th winter seafood festival and meals charity. Sat outside this year as not as cold as last year, on heated cushions around a fire pit - super good. We all had some lobstah tacos which were quite good indeed, though cabbage forward. The staff put on such a good show for this annual event, thanks to Jessica especially. See you again soon when the sun comes out and warms the days
- L9235CFstephens (6/5): Guest Experience Fell Short of Expectations - I really wanted to love this place, but the overall guest experience fell short of expectations. First of the good- the food and drink at the resort were excellent and exceeded my expectations. We are dog people, and love their pet friendly policy. Where things fell short- Stayed at the The Inn by the Sea to celebrate an engagement. A few days in advance of our stay, I called the resort and told them I was getting in engaged just before checking in and inquired about having a bottle of champagne in the room at checkin. I was told yes, not a problem they deliver items to rooms at 4pm. (same as checkin time). When we checked in to our room at 415, I did not see the champagne that I ordered and asked the bell hop about it. He was not sure, and checked with colleagues. He came back to our room and told us to check the fridge. I paid $157 for a bottle of Veuve to be tucked away at the fridge. When paying close to a $100 mark up on a bottle, I would have expected the bottle to be over ice and visible when we walked it. Given the celebratory nature, this would have been a prime opportunity to exceed guest expectations in some way- none of the staff even acknowledge our engagement. If I had known this would have just brought a bottle of Champagne with me. Night 1- the heater in the our main room was broken (was sub 60 degrees in the living room when we woke up). On our way to breakfast I made the front desk aware of the issue and they said, no problem we will send someone over to check it out but we need to make sure our dog is out of the room. After we finished breakfast, I went back to the front desk and told them that we were leaving the hotel with our Dog for a few hours- they said great, we are will replace the heater while you are gone. How did they know that the heater needed to be replaced before inspecting it in our room? I think the hotel was aware of the broken heater before we even checkin. We were away from the hotel from 9:30am-3:30pm. We returned and the heater was working, however our room at not been cleaned. I asked the front desk to inquire if daily cleaning is a service, and they said of course and seemed surprised that our room had not been cleaned. When I inquired they asked, "did you leave your dog in the room," um no, we already told you were leaving the room for several hours with our dog so you can fix the heat in our room. We were both tired after visiting breweries and having lunch and really just wanted to lay down for a nap. I called the front desk a few minutes later to get an ETA on house keeping so that we could plan our afternoon nap. After the 2nd call, they were more apologetic and said they we could come to the lobby for a drink on the house. This was a nice gesture, but honestly we really just wanted to be in our clean room and should not have taken a couple of complaints for them to offer some solution to our troubles thus far. Night 2- we had already gotten into bed, and were going to watch a movie before bed but our TV wasn't working. Called up the front desk and they sent maintenance over to check it out. The maintain working (would didn't speak English) couldn't figure it out and he called another associates to trouble shoot. After the two of them tried to troubleshoot the issue in our room for 15mins were told that the internet was down in our room and there was nothing they could do to fix it. I was understanding, and made a comment to them "I guess we just had bad luck with our room, our heat was broken earlier and now the internet." The response I received was, "yea we heard about the heater issue earlier- sorry". These issues are not big deals on their own, however the aggregation of them over the course of just a 2 night stay is unacceptable. For $542.72/night I expect the heat + internet in my room to be working. And if it's not, some sort of solution or credit to try and make things right. I really wanted to love our stay, but the overall guest experience fell short.

- northdixie (10/5): Great Winter Getaway Near with Views Near Portland - Even though the weather was brisk, the view in the morning was gorgeous along the walking path. The restaurant was a short, easy walk from the suite which was in a separate building. We were upgraded to the beautiful, relaxing two-bedroom suite. I could see this suite being perfect for a family with kids. I would go again for a winter getaway!

- susancO5735LL (10/5): Understated Elegance outside of Portland, ME - Another fabulous trip to Inn By the Sea. This is one of our favorite places to stay in the Portland area. A huge draw for us is that it is dog friendly. Our dog Abby loves visiting here. Garden suites on the first floor allow easy access to a patio and the grounds outside. The inn is beautiful and gracious while being understated and elegant. It is just so comfortable. The location cannot be beat with gorgeous views of the ocean and direct access to Crescent Beach. The spa is small but nice. In the past, I have had a massage there and it was excellent. The restaurant, Sea Glass is small with beautiful views and fresh, local ingredients. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The bar area, across from the restaurant is dog-friendly. The inn is a quick drive to Portland, really the best of both worlds. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable with high quality amenities. Everything is clean and the staff is very friendly. Call out to Alex and Katherine at the front desk as well as Holly at the restaurant and Rosa who was leading an ornament decorating activity. Thank you! We will be back.

Danni and Adam had our tables all set when we arrived for breakfast and Holly, Ella and Parker did an outstanding job serving us a delicious breakfast. - shadowhotch (10/5): Luxury for doggy lovers - The Inn by the sea was very comfortable and clean to stay at. The room was beautiful, and filled was amenities for not only, myself but for my dogs. The room service was spot on and the food was delicious and plated beautifully. I loved the board walk trail to the beautiful sandy beach. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. It will be the only place I'll book when visiting Portland.

The Inn by the Sea is simply put, ʼ A treasure and a pleasureʼ. From check-in to check-out, from first meal to bar bites, from Thanksgiving Day lunch to a classic margarita by the fire, our stay as a family of five, four humans and one dog, was wonderful and came at a time when we needed rest and recharge. Room 503 was spotless, warm, perfectly decorated, and sprinkled with little touches that we quickly came to realise were part of the course for an ʼInn by the Seaʼ' guest. We will be back....... and have already recommended a stay to many friends. - mrsbink (10/5): Magical - Just try and find one single thing to complain about at this superb hotel ... you literally cannot. Situated on one of southern Maine's nicest beaches, with super spacious rooms facing the horizon, location is only one reason to come. Throw in friendly staff, excellent food, amenities galore, and their recent Wine Spectator Award, and you have all the elements of a PERFECT stay. Prices vary widely by season, of course, but deals can be had, and the value is there.

We have stayed a couple of times in the past few years when they offer the Habitat for Humanity special discount. The inn is beautiful, well cared for and the staff is great! Our king loft room was very clean, comfortable and had excellent amenities. The location is also great, with views of the beach and a boardwalk path to get to the beach. We look forward to coming back!

Not really the issue. Issue was the sarcastic, negativity of Front Desk...older woman with Grey streaked hair pulled tightly back. Her very unfriendly response after telling me it is a 4pm check-in, and I asked if housekeeping could get the room ready as soon as possible: "well, we don't want to rush her through your room, and nit have it clean." Seriously??? That's the first impression at an iPrefer property to a longstanding iPrefer member. Go the the bar to get a drink and possibly food. One other couple in bar eating. TOTALLY ALOOF... almost passively aggressive bartender... two feet from me at the bar. No eye contact, no greeting. Tall, curly short hair, about 40ish. I asked for a menu. Gives it to me with one word. I had to engage him again. Like... going out of his way to serve and talk with me. This is your hospitality? From there, through our 3 night stay. I wanted nothing to do with any of you. Young lady serving us dinner was very nice. Younger boy/man at Front Desk, nice. But the first impression ruined everything. I travel all over the world. I lived in Maine for three years. This is lousy training and not holding your employees accountable for their behavior. In season or out. You are only as good as your reputation. Your property doesn't deserve its iPrefer status. I don't care about your location or amenities. I care about how I am treated.

- ExploringNewEngland (10/5): Fabulous experience on a short return stay at Inn by the Sea - Inn by the Sea is one of our very favorite New England hotels. We enjoyed everything from check-in (Betsy was a delight) through checkout. The property is pristine and cozy for our fall season stay. The fall Halloween decor on the grounds and common spaces was just right. Plenty of good dogs (leashed) were on property too. Our room was so comfortable I didn't want to leave!
- V1157XUannm (8/5): Would stay again....be careful if you are an I-Prefer loyalty member - Beautiful resort. High season and highest prices start in May and run through October. We stayed in March and most recently in September. March was a fraction of the cost. There is an ongoing "glitch" - that's how on site staff explained it in March and in September with the connection between rates they quote you if you call, rates you see online on their own website and communication if you are an I-Preferred member. I am a Titanium I prefer member that comes with a list of perks. I redeemed a few points to reduce my nightly rate on my most recent trip. It was a headache trying to see a confirmation from the hotel ahead of my trip that confirmed my new nightly rate. They said they cannot see what I-Prefer is doing with regard to that. We did utilize an I-Prefer perk and upgraded to a larger room based on availability for this recent trip. We were not greeted at check in as I-Prefer guests and were not offered the on-site perks - gift, candy, free complimentary cocktails, etc.. Othere than that, it's a beautiful setting with a lovely walk to a beach. The rooms are very nicely decorated, super comfy beds and linens and really superb housekeeping on every visit.

The Sea Glass restaurant offers excellent cuisine, both for breakfast and dinner, with a relaxing view of the ocean.

- bremser226 (10/5): Two week road trip to the Northeast: pet friendly accommodations required - Wonderful property -- nicely appointed rooms (even heated floor in the bathroom) -- bed linens were wonderful -- staff was pleasant and helpful. The chef even offers a menu for your pet. The room had dog bowl, treats and bedding for our dog :-) We wish we had been told that the kitchen was backed up when we ordered our dinner. We waited an hour for our food to arrive at the table. This was our first stay at the Inn. It seems that many other guests routinely visit the Inn -- we sort of felt like outsiders. The repeat guests like to bend the rules, such as, keeping your pet on a leash but I guess that's to be expected. We definitely recommend the Inn at the Sea. Enjoy!!

My husband and I were traveling for our anniversary and the location (short drive to Portland and Kennebunkport) was perfect, but we still were on the beach. We enjoyed our coffee every morning overlooking the ocean, but we were still able to travel easily to restaurants and sites. The room was well appointed, clean and spacious. The bathroom and shower was luxurious. The bed was super plush and comfortable. Could hear doors opening and closing early in the morning, but overall, very quiet and peaceful.

- soxfan401 (10/5): A Beauty On The Beach! - So enjoyed this resort! We had a 2bedroom/1bath Cove Suite for 4nights, perfect for 4 adults, fully furnished including kitchen amenities. Beds (2queens, 1king) were super comfy, bathroom was spacious with gigantic soaking tub and separate shower. Best part: lovely views from the porch of Crescent Beach; there's a picturesque nature path to it, a relaxing 5min walk away. Backside of the resort has ocean facing pairs of chairs with larger groupings around fire pits. Onsite restaurant featured delicious seafood; advance rez required during busy seasons. Other dining options nearby (The Good Table, excellent!). Short drive to Portland, Freeport, lighthouses, and more seafood! Overall, a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

The entire experience was wonderful! I stayed in a loft room with a friend and it was spacious with beautiful ocean views. I did not bring my dog because he hates the car, but Ioved seeing and meeting the dogs on site. The food was 5 star! The staff was 5 star! We had couldn't have requested better weather it was incredible which added to our experience. Thank you!

MBR bath sliding pocket door was barely sliding. Porch screen door was extremely difficult to pull and stay closed. One window wouldn't open, for fresh air. The hotel management had a photographer that limited 2 days of n pool because of the drone pics and videos being undertaken (for the website?). Beach chairs were not handed out as they were limited, and guest services was not at the the beach when they were expected to be with towels, umbrella and chairs. We made reservations n advance (window view) for breakfast each morning for 8am, but hostess said the 9 o'clock reservation they had in their book conflicted with ours and it was awkward trying to get them to oblige our earlier reservation. The engineering associate was very good, and fixed the Apple TV hardware, on the spot. Inn by the sea hotel has a deferred maintenance problem.
- BeeBeeDC (10/5): We Will Come Back Again! - Lovely 3 night experience the week after Labor Day. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved the restaurant (breakfasts and dinners), where the food is fresh and delicious. We were able to enjoy walks down to the beach, swimming in the pool, massages at the spa, and exercise in the fitness room. It was an A+ for us, without ever feeling over-the-top.

- ServiceDog2014 (2/5): Customer Service is at the bottom of the Hill! Stay Away! - I booked a garden suite in the main bldg for one night through I Prefer. Then called hotel to confirm that it was in the main building. Told them I am a senior travelling with a medical service dog. Finally 3 1/2 hours after arriving they told me my room was ready. When a novice bellman unloaded my car to take me to the room, it turns out it was at the bottom of a steep flight of stairs. No way could I do those stairs with a bad knee that was apparent. The manager insisted it was the only room available. Finally they found me a room not in main building as I had requested and was promised. I have stayed at this property previously but always enjoyed it. The room they found was not ready for any guest, no Kleenex, the property is dog friendly and promise dog bed and other amenities that were non existent; it smelled horrid; and the worst no working internet. So I spent most of the night working til several hours past mid night in the deserted hotel lobby of the other bldg, so I could work and meet my deadlines. This is totally unacceptable especially at the price they charge per room. And walking back to my room which I didn’t enjoy doing alone in the dark at 3 am, all so I could meet a deadline requiring the internet and computer. The staff seemed like newbies and clueless except for one desk person who was there earlier in the evening and after not being able to get internet on any device in my guest room which was remote and not in main building where I had a dinner meeting first, offered to turn on the lights in the lobby lounge for me so I could work. Fine, but I didn’t need to pay for a room then. I would have rather worked comfortably in my PJ’s, and not having to walk back alone in the dark in the middle of the night.

- leahsari (10/5): Very attentive service at this lovely resort - Mu husband and I were looking for a getaway leading up to a holiday weekend and the Inn by the Sea fit the bill of what we were looking for. However, when I tried to make a reservation online I was unable to, even though nights showed as available. I called and was very fortunate to be connected with J.D. He explained that there were rooms available but they would require a change of rooms, due to availability not being consistent between room types (this made complete sense as this was a very last-minute booking leading into a busy holiday weekend). He was able to make some accommodations for us that led to a really wonderful stay. Kudos, J.D. and thank you again. All that we needed to do was be packed by 11 am and the hotel would move our bags. When we did change rooms, I did accidentally leave some hair products in the shower and was so thrilled to see that David, the valet, had checked the room, noticed, and moved my items. It was very, very attentive service and really appreciated. Overall the resort was very pretty and very quiet. A lot of families playing games on the lawn. The restaurant was really good and we thought pretty reasonably priced for a resort. We both had great treatments in the spa and my husband used the fitness center every day. Great proximity to Portland, we went in twice for dinner, super easy.
- Odyssey24571400222 (10/5): Wonderful trip to the Southern East Coast of Maine - We stayed here to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, such a great choice. You felt like you were on an Island with a beautiful view. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the food choices were delicious! There were a lot of families there with their small children. Cape Elizabeth is close to South Portland and there is so much to do along Commercial Street in Portland. We were able to drive South to Kennebunkport and North to Boothbay. I would recommend these trips!
- KatherineKX (10/5): best Maine vacation experience for our family - We visited Inn by the Sea in mid-August and cannot say enough wonderful things about our time there. The property is immaculately maintained and the hospitality of the staff was second to none. An unexpected benefit is that the property boosts natural flower gardens ne takes part in many environmentally friendly iniativies, which our family loved. My 10-year-old had a blast and did not want to leave. Among the highlights for him was a walk in the garden where a staff educator taught him how to spot monarch caterpillars feasting on milkweed. There was also a local animal rescue that came to teach kids about animal conservation. There are signs leading up to the beach about steering clear of endangering piping plovers that may be nesting on the beach. It was wonderful to be able to indulge on a vacation in a spot that aligned with our family’s values. Will definitely be back in the future.

- Andressa (6/5): - We chose Inn by the Sea because it was advertised as a “pet-friendly” property with beach access for pets, which was a key factor in our decision. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite align with those expectations. We arrived on a Sunday around noon and, as expected, our room wasn’t ready (check-in is at 4:00pm). However, unlike many hotels, we were not offered anything while we waited — no welcome drink, light refreshment, or even an early check-in estimate — despite having to wait the full four hours. Once we checked in, we were told our assigned room was not pet-friendly, and we would be charged for any accidents — despite booking under the premise that this was a pet-friendly stay. Additionally, the restaurant only allows pets in the outdoor seating area, and the pool area is not pet-friendly at all. So while the hotel does accommodate pets in some areas, it’s misleading to call it fully pet-friendly when the main guest amenities are off-limits. That said, the property is beautiful and most of the staff were friendly and professional, which we appreciated. But overall, if you’re traveling with a pet and hoping for a truly integrated experience, this may not be the best fit.
- worldtraveler21nj (10/5): Rest , Relax , Repeat!! - It’s a wow from when you see the property! All the beautiful gardens, beach, pool. 62 thoughtful rooms. It breathes like a 5 diamond sleep away camp. I have never been more relaxed or slept better. Our loft suite felt like we rented a well equipped house. Food service was excellent. Everyday make room for the ice cream social and evening s’mores. Portland is only 7 miles away ( wonderful restaurants, shopping and boating). Take the ferry to Peeks island and ride the loop on bicycle . I will return as soon as humanly possible!

- katherinekf2023 (10/5): Incredible Family Reunion at IBTS! - We had an incredible stay at IBTS at the end of July for a family reunion to celebrate our 70th birthdays. From our first visit in June 2024 and meeting with Laurie Inness to plan our trip we were impressed with the quality and beauty of the property. Laurie assisted us with every detail of our special occasion; from choosing the perfect beach suites for our group of 10 adults and six children, making dinner reservations, planning our birthday celebration dinner, recommending area activities, and keeping us apprised of all that goes on at IBTS (Family Beach Walk, Bug Walk, Lobster/Clam Bake, Yoga on the Lawn, etc). She even created a gift sand bucket filled with goodies for each of our six grandchildren! Laurie checked in with us every day to ensure that we had everything that we needed, and even stocked our fridge with beverages at the last minute one afternoon. Laurie’s support was echoed in the wonderful customer service provided by the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping staff. Each person we encountered was friendly and helpful. Our family particularly loved the pool and easy access to Crescent Beach and Kettle Cove. IBTS was the perfect choice for our special family gathering!

- 304curtisp (10/5): Exceptional Escape - Extraordinary experience: The suites, the restaurant, the grounds and landscaping are superb. Combine that with the location, situated next to a protected area with exceptional views and access to Crescent Beach - stunning. Room for a bit of improvement in just two minor areas: The convertible couches need an upgrade to match the quality of rest of the suite details; and perhaps some updating of the pool surroundings and experience with families in mind.

The hostess during breakfast hours is the sweetest person ever. Access to the beach and amenities are also wonderful. The best experience was sitting out on the lawn and watching the fireflies dance as the water crashes in the distance. Distance to other beaches and food also a huge bonus. I WILL BE BACK.

- arthurpA6626NB (10/5): - What a beautiful, calm, quiet resort. Our room had a beautiful view of the water, with a balcony that we utilized every evening. The hotel was so quiet, even though there were a lot of guests. Great insulation between the rooms. Best bed ever!! I don't know the type of sheets that were used, but highly recommended. Food at the restaurant was awesome, more beautiful views of the water from the restaurant. The bathroom had heated floors and a great tub and shower. So many great touches and excellent service. We will be back.
- ebkkme (6/5): - We stayed in a dog friendly suite with distant views of the ocean. It was on the first floor, as dogs are not allowed in the higher rooms, and it felt dark, despite the large windows in front. The suite itself was fine, but felt more like a mid-level beach rental than a luxury hotel. The kitchen/living/dining space was overcrowded with furniture so it felt cramped; the bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was spacious as well, though it was a very basic bathroom - no spa shower or luxury amenities - and there was very little water pressure. The biggest disappointment was the lack of cleanliness and how poorly the suite was maintained during our stay. There was grime all over the cabinet doors and a prior guest's food in the cabinets, dirty dishes in the cabinets, the floors were dirty, and we kept finding surfaces covered with dust. The restaurant gets higher marks - we had breakfast and a few dinners in the bar and the food was excellent, though the service was mixed. Overall, a nice stay with some issues and too pricey for what you get.

My husband had a massage with Jake. He said it was the best massage he has ever had. We had dinner and breakfast in the Sea Glass, it was so good. I can't think of a single complaint.

Our room was on the ground floor and opened on to the yard for the kids to play. The hotel was very nice, but certainly kid friendly. The food was excellent. We did room service each night and it was way above average. The staff was extremely acomadating to our family and made it very enjoyable for my wife and me.
- PFS3 (10/5): Great Stay at Inn By The Sea - This Inn is a paradise. Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, dog-friendly, courteous and service-oriented staff. Even though the Inn was full, it was quiet and peaceful. Crescent Beach is beautiful and the Inn is close to Portland and other Maine attractions.
