Guest Reviews
- J.L. (10/5): - Room was clean, quiet and no external light to disrupt sleep.
- richard (6/5): - It was very quant hidden little treasure but wish the bed was little bigger than a twin and then baam ahhhh
- Scott (10/5): - Excellent value, clean would recommend!!
- Troy (10/5): - Easy check in. Clean room. Would definitely stay here again.
- Richard (10/5): - Everything was good
- Jane (8/5): - The room was clean and fit our needs.
- Theresa (10/5): Adorable & affordable- hidden gem of Saratoga! - Great little hidden gem! Tucked away just outside of Saratoga Springs, this place is adorable, clean & comfy! Bri, the hotel manager was great & so very helpful! Would definitely stay again!
- Heather (10/5): Little Gem in Saratoga - I was extremely impressed. The communication was wonderful regarding check in and then midway through my stay I was contacted to see if I needed anything. The room was extremely clean and comfortable, and minutes from downtown. I would definitely return and stay again!
- Neil (10/5): - Great beds, ac, and super clean.
- Virginia (10/5): Simple Hidden Gem - The room was simple and bathroom had very nice towel set ups AND it was all beautifully clean. I'm very particular about cleanliness especially in hotels/motels -actually 1st time in a motel but reviews were so great I thought why not try it for the one night- I'm glad I did.
The only things they could improve on would be darker curtains and better quality linens (too thin) which would make it even more comfortable. Would definately stay here again. Oh and when I arrived at 5:30 on very warm day, the a/c was already on full blast!! Very nice surprise!
- James (6/5): - Not what we expected. We've stayed at the Robin Hood Motel in the past but wanted to check out a Motel closer to town. Won't stay here again.
- Cooper (8/5): - Good accommodation if you are just using for sleeping.
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The room was super clean and the bed very comfortable. It was relatively quiet and good value for money. I wish there had been a bedside light or two, and I did not like the air freshener/cleaning product smell at all. I’m not usually fussy about smells but it was pervasive.
- John (10/5): - Nice little motel, perfect for shows at SPAC.
- Michael (10/5): - Room was dated but very clean.
- Peter (8/5): No Frills, Good Deal For Area - It was a basic room, with no frills. It was clean and was fine for our two night stay. Only drawback was the shower only got lukewarm. The price was good for the area.
- Michael (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Peter (10/5): - Great spot, great service. Clean, comfortable.
- Krystal (4/5): - Beautiful setting and convenient location however located on a very busy road so there was a lot of road noise. You can tell that perhaps there is a new owner and they are trying to renovate. The kitchenette was nice to have and had brand new dishes (still stickered and unclean) Bedding was nice but for just being cleaned that morning, one of the beds gad all sorts of fun bugs inside. The room setup was a little strange and the overall cleanliness was lacking. Air filter for one of the window units was filthy and we had frequent bugs inside the whole time. I dropped something on the floor and when I went to clean up, there was broken glass stuck all under the cabinet where there was a big gap in the flooring. Putting your bare feet to close would cut your foot right open. They get an A for effort but still needs a lot of work to make it "nice."
- Harland (8/5): - Very neat and clean nice towels.
- stacy (10/5): Hidden Gem! - A hidden gem! Beautiful grounds/ relaxing! Older motel/ UPDATED. Room was extra spacious, beds comfortable. Very nice to have kitchette available for coffee, morning breakfast. Having a deck off room - heaven! Was great to have woods / sounds of nature with our coffee in am.
Great location - minutes from EVERYTHING!
- Mati (6/5): - The shower was very slippery! The air quality was musty.
Everyone I was in contact with was courteous and efficient.
Thank you!
- Maren S (10/5): - This was just the right place for us. We came into town for a concert and the proximity to everything was great. The room had just what we needed at a great price. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit the races!
- Carol (8/5): - Location isolated & quiet. Manager - accomodating, brought us cups and chair, new batteries for remote. No chair in room, no hangers, A/C too high to adjust, had to unplug to turn it off. Some discomfort with no curtain on bathroom window but privacy glass okay.
- Kathleen (8/5): Convenient stay. - Room was totally clean. It is an Adirondack style motel with little amenities but there was shampoo/conditioner. Body lotion. Hand soap and bath soap. They tell you your room # just before you arrive and the door is open with the key on the desk. When you leave, you leave the key on your desk, and you are informed to lock the door when you leave. There is not an office area but they do communicate to you via email. If you need anything you email them. You park right outside your door. Adirondack chairs outside your room to sit and relax. Wi-Fi and cable t.v. Microwave and refrigerator in the room.
- jackie (10/5): - Stay went very well. Very convenient location with easy check in and check out. Staff responded immediately to a question we had.
I would recommend a few things to make this hotel bette. A roll of paper towers in the kitchen area. Some tissues in the bathroom and some silverware to go with the dishes provided. A full length mirror would also be a welcome.
- Meredith L (4/5): Nearly Trapped! - There were some pros to staying here:
1) it was very clean.
2) it is not downtown, but easy to get to from downtown
3) the relatively low price during Dance Flurry weekend
4) the rooms have been updated since my last stay
However, there were some quite serious cons. When I first arrived at the hotel, I had been given the wrong room number, and frightened another guest. When I got to my room, there was no key, as the message had specified there would be. Being able to lock the door when you leave your hotel room is a basic expectation of mine. I called the number I’d been given, which is not the same as the listed number on Google maps or the one I was given when I called that listed number. The person at that number told me she could come in half an hour with another. It took closer to an hour for her to arrive. Furthermore, the door sticks, and so with the key is still very hard to open. More seriously, that night, knowing that the key that should’ve been there could’ve been taken by someone else, I bolted the door. (The chain lock was missing the chain.) in the morning. I could not get the bolt open! After trying for over 15 minutes, I made plans to leave the room through the window. I called that number again and reached no one but left a voicemail. I gave the door one last desperate attempt and was able to free myself, and left a second voicemail to that effect. I never heard back from the hotel at all in response to these problems. I will not return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a pleasant stay. The owner, Christopher, was responsive to our needs.
- Teddie S (8/5): - The room was great except the mattress was very hard so we had trouble sleeping. The walls are way to thin as we heard EVERY thing the neighbors were doing. Over all would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Enjoyed the stay. We were in for one night to attend a wedding and it was a perfect accommodation for our needs. Very comfortable bed! Some facelift could still be used in our room but I can tell this is a work in progress and was happy for what I paid to have such a great night sleep. Communication with inn keepers was great!
- Richard (10/5): - Brie, the manager was courteous and professional. She was very busy but always took the time to answer my questions
- Melissa (6/5): - It was ok. Smelled musty and was bare bones but comfortable bed and close to SPAC.
- Callee (4/5): - Rooms are aged & the bathroom is small & grimy there was only one cup for a family of 5 there was no tea or coffee available on the plus side the sheets were clean & the bed was comfortable. There is traffic noise due to the nearby road & the curtains do t really block out the light if you want a sleep in.
- Dawn (6/5): - The toilet didn’t flush
- Cindi (10/5): - Bri was very friendly and helpful! Was very surprised when we walked in and saw size of room! Close to SPAC! Compared to other places in the area that were ridiculously priced we found a great deal! Would stay again!
- Amy (10/5): Great spot for a quick stay! Clean and comfortable - Great little spot close to town, clean, convenient and easy peasy!
- Thierry (6/5): - Overall correct except a very annoying noise happening every couple of minutes coming from underneath the floor.
Tenant is aware and working on solving it.
A bit overpriced for the comfort level but we booked on high season.
- Susan (8/5): - Was just right for us as it was high rent racing season and all we needed was a bed and a shower as we were visiting family who are with the orchestra. The most important thing—the bed was very comfortable and the shower was fine. Christopher was regularly communicating and I trust would have been available if we needed something. Note there is no room service unless requested. We were thankful to get a place for the price in August. Would stay there again.
- Suzanne (10/5): - No complaints, cute, cozy perfect for one night . Would stay again
- Bob (2/5): 1960s room with a 2024 price - Terrible experience worst room I've ever had. A 1960s room with a 2024 price tag. No room to put luggage anywhere. Big gap around door and framework, daylight shining through, mice could get in easily. Overall the place was a joke.
- Howard W (10/5): - Close to SPAC. Came for concert.
- Shirley (10/5): - The motel is clean, no-frills, and quiet. We enjoyed our stay there for one night when we went to a concert. The beds were comfortable. Communication was excellent with the host. Ver nice place!
- Angel (10/5): - We will definitely stay here again!
- STEVEN (10/5): - Hidden Gem. Hot water, comfortable bed, good AC, clean - all you need. If you know, you know.
- Paul Viet (10/5): - Nicest motel I stayed at in a while, liked it being quiet and the outdoor space is great
- JEANETTE (10/5): Peace and quiet. No frills - My son and I stayed overnight. Just in town for a concert 7/17/24. The price was why we choose it, not really any expectations. We loved it. It was rustic, off the beaten path, quiet, peaceful. The room was clean, well equipped with amenities, but bring your own cups and coffee and filters if you want coffee. That was fine with us. Has a fridge and microwave. We would go there again as opposed to the bigger hotels/motels we have frequented. We don't need a pool, spa, exercise room. We are in Saratoga Springs to visit family and only need the room to sleep. They have TV and WiFi. Beds were comfortable, pillows fluffy.
- Megan (10/5): - Nice peaceful stay even though it was a concert weekend. They have done lots of renovations. Bed was comfy
- Katie (8/5): - Super cute cabin like setting! Great for concerts at SPAC!
- Robert (8/5): - Recent upgrades to outside were very nice. Beautiful Adirondack chairs for each room.
- Deborah (10/5): - A wonderful room with a delightfully painted dresser and a rustic look and feel that soothes your soul.
- Anne M (10/5): A newly renovated classic motel - A tucked-away little motel in a fantastic location. Snug in the woods but very close to town and SPAC. Our room was newly redone and immaculate. Plenty of towels, and the property manager sorted out the one issue we had (the battery needed replacing in the thermostat) within an hour. We loved our stay—so did our puppy!—and we will be back.
- scott (10/5): - Perfect place to sleep! No frills, just clean and the AC worked great!
- catherine (8/5): Great location for the Performing Arts Centre - Stayed only 1 night as going to a concert at the Performimg Arts Centre and the drive was only 6 minutes to it and 10 minutes back after the concert. Very old fashioned accommodation but cute. The bed was comfy. The main reason I couldn't give a higher score was the pillows (1 pillow each) which here not great and could do with an upgrade. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
- Ashley (10/5): - We had a great stay at Saratoga gardens! Very clean and spacious for 4 people in room 9! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!
- Robert (10/5): - A little different check in experience as there is no “office” but all went well and easy.
- Walter (10/5): - Well in Saratoga during track season rooms are so expensive so we chose this motel because it was 2.5 miles from an event we were attending and it was the lowest price with the highest ratings. The motel has recently changed hands and Chris was very quick to reply to my emails. The building is old but you can tell the outside was spruced up a bit. The room was very clean and comfortable with frig and microwave and good wifi. My wife and I liked the motel and would stay there again and recommend it to others. Thanks.
- dana (10/5): Great place to stay! - The Saratoga Garden MOTEL
Stayed two nights for the races and golf. We wre in the efficiency unit. Everything was great!! The rates were good, the unit was clean with everything we needed and it was quiet. Most satisfied!!!!!
- Shelley (10/5): - Very cute property nice room clean comfy nest town and track.
- Philip (10/5): - Perfect
- Michael (10/5): Nice owners - clean and neat room. - The room was clean, and neat. Bed was comfortable. It would be nice to have a small inexpensive microwave and one additional pillow available. The owners were very friendly nice people. Would stay here again.
- Rosemary (6/5): - When we arrived there was no office to speak of. When we called the motel phone number we got a recorded message saying it was under new management and stating the new number. No one answered and the mailbox was full. We found out from other folks staying there that we should try a door to see which one was unlocked and did find an unlocked door. No coffee or ice available. But it was clean. Just weird .
- Karen (10/5): Girls day at the Track! - New owner has made good updates around the place. compfy adirondak type experience. perfect stay when you want to uber to the Track !
- Marthe (6/5): - Under new management and the transition has hiccoughs. This is a modest motel, well situated, with small simple rooms, with microwave and refrigerator and flat screen TV, but needs to be tidied up before much time passes. Mattresses outside not an attractive look and no one to check in with except by phone makes things feel a little weird.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great place to stay! - This motel has a great cozy cabin feel close to town. Our room was comfortable, the service was great, and there was the best little breakfast place right across the street.
- David (8/5): - it was a spacious room with two bathrooms.
- Nicolas (10/5): The best in the area. - Amazing place. It's warm enough on the coldest days of winter and had power during a storm.
- Abigail (10/5): - Fantastic find and cute little property. The owner and staff are nice, and the room felt more like a cottage than motel. I'd recommend earplugs and an eye mask for sleeping - it's right on a busy road and the area is well lit at night.
- James (10/5): - Wonderful stay as always. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of decent towels. Thank you - we’ll be back next year!
- Randall (8/5): - The 50s vibe is readily apparent with wood paneled walls, a bottle opener on the bathroom wall and a hand-painted chest of drawers. Although it's a step back in time, it didn't have a weathered or worn feel - and the room and property were very clean.
A tad more amenities would be nice - like shampoo and facial tissue, but for the price, I could do without.
- Nina (10/5): - You can't tell from the picture how truly lovely this property is. We stayed in a room with two queen beds and the room was huge, with a couch, 1.5 bathrooms, and a kitchenette. There's a gigantic, gorgeous yard behind the motel. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. Very quick drive to the parks and downtown Saratoga Springs.
- Darlene (8/5): Good enough - Good enough for a one night stay. Pros : very quiet, comfortable bed, main room small but clean. Has a cabin in the woods feel and “smell.” The bathroom needed a good floor wash and upgrades- rust around fixtures. Close to everything Saratoga Springs offers. Stayed one night to see a concert and left early.
- Alexander (10/5): - Small mom and pop motel in an older building, but it looks like it's had some upgrades in recent years (the floors, windows, and doors look like they are newer), and the older stuff seems like it's been kept pretty well maintained. As high as motel/hotel room prices can get in Saratoga during track season, you're getting a lot of bang for the buck. The room had two beds, a full couch, a little kitchen nook with not just a mini fridge and microwave, but also a full size sink, toaster oven, counter space, and a small dining room table with two chairs. The room had two bathrooms, one with a shower, one without. It doesn't have the standard coookie-cutter floor plan that you normally find at most corporately owned motels. It almost feels more like an AirB&B than a motel. It ain't the Hilton, but it's got a lot more personality than a Super 8, and more than serves it's purpose as an affordable place to crash while you're staying in Saratoga.
- Shana (10/5): Proprietor Engaged - Very good ... proprietor really cares and is totally engaged. Quite ... perfect for what was needed. Thanks.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not up to Hotels.com standards! - Very old and basic. Old low quality air conditioner that functioned poorly. Only reason in stay here is that it’s cheap compared to everything else in Saratoga during racing season. I stayed only one night
- Peter (10/5): SPAC & Track - Clean basic room located conveniently to local attractions. It was perfect for our short stay.
- Nicole (10/5): - Absolutely adorable! This is a low-key location and perfect for an easy night away!
- peter (8/5): Good stay - Basic and clean and affordable
- Elaina (8/5): - The room was very clean and cozy. Very conveniently located to get to SPAC and the center of town.
- Judith (8/5): Quiet, clean place to stay - The property is dated, but clean and quiet. The garden is tranquil and lovely. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I asked for early checkin and late checkout and received both. The average marks on eco friendly is bc there was no recycling can. In hindsight there were three trash cans and I could’ve dedicated one to recycling. The room did have the odor of cigarette smoke probably owing to the fact that the ashtray and bench are right outside the door, with the air conditioner on the wall above. The location is very convenient and probably less than a two minute drive into the town center. Considering the price of lodging in Saratoga springs in July and August, this was a good budget option for a place to shower and sleep.
- Joseph E. (8/5): Convenient - Clean and centrally located within 5 miles of SPAC
- Paul (8/5): Nice place to stay Countryside - Very rustic and old but clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Rustic simple place to stay - Pleasant, comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. The motel is quiet, with plesant gardens around. The rooms are small, very simple furnishings. AC microwave and fridge but no coffee maker. Wood paneling. Very rustic. Not your cookie cutter corporate chain motel. Seemed rather expensive but I guess everything in Saratoga is that way.
- Marie-Pier (10/5): - Loved the easy check-in and how cute the room was. Didn't love how the shower was a bit meh on the pressure but very clean!
- Stephen D. (8/5): - I love the set up. The motel is a step back in time but with modern updates. The rooms were clean. I will most definitely stay there again.
- Martin David (10/5): Saratoga Garden - I was really happy with the experience. The rooms are "rustic" but clean, quiet, and accessible (once you watch for the entrance sign when your GPS tells you that you have arrived). I will stay again.
- Avery (10/5): So cute! And affordable! - The hosts were so sweet, setting was gorgeous, just far enough from the bustle and noise of town without being too far, very clean and homey, perfect for a place to hang your hat and get a good nights sleep.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - It was a clean, rustic relaxing place to stay at.
- Sarah (10/5): - It was clean and convenient and had windows that you could open, unlike big franchise hotels. It was close and convenient to Skidmore College.
- Barbara (8/5): - Property is very quaint. Needs to have coffee makers and hair dryers in room. Quiet and clean. Beautiful flowers on the grounds. Friendly staff.
- Gregory (10/5): Best Budget Find in Saratoga - Lodging is at a premium when they are racing at Saratoga Race Track. This property is a find and has been consistent for years. It is cozy, quiet and represents the best budget stay my wife and I have ever experienced. If you 'get' this place, you will want to return.
- Mark (10/5): - Alway a great stay.
- peggy (8/5): - Property was convenient for what we were doing in the area. The owners were very easy to contact and deal with. This is our second time staying here. If at all possible try to get the efficiency unit. Nice and big to expand out and not be right on top of each other. It has a full size refrigerator and stove plus a microwave. Dishes are provided also. The dinner across the street is good. Prices are very reasonable. Overall we wouldn’t definitely stay here again.
- Noreen (8/5): - I was wary at first due to the price, but was pleasantly surprised. Room very clean, fresh towels every day. Quiet location, close to town.
- peggy (8/5): - This is our second time staying here and for us it’s perfect at a great price.
- Jim (8/5): - No frills, clean, AC worked great. Great for a guick overnight stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was off the road. It was very cozy. Host was nice. Only thing i would change is attention to the bathroom cleanliness and possibly a little update.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great, convenient, friendly, clean..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Adorable old school roadside motel. Super friendly owners. Very easily accessible to downtown and the parks. Felt very safe. If you’re looking for something affordable and off the beaten path, this is the place.
- Marc (8/5): Comfortable but dated. - Facility was clean but in need of freshening up. No phone and dim lighting in room. Even uses old school room keys. Parking lot was not paved.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - vintage & very clean, nice towels, not much highway noise at all
