Guest Reviews
- Katie (10/5): - The bed ,bathroom, great place to safely enjoy family. Loved it
- Crystal Wiggins (1/5): -
- Pullen (1/5): Discriminative of service animals - Nothing We have a service dog, the owners knew that and we had stayed there once before. We got there this time and the owners decided my small service dog did not act like a true service dog and that i bought his card on line for 20.00.
These people are rude and out of line so we went elsewhere and not to return.
I truly hope everyone reads this whom have service animals because if your dog does not act like a drill sergeant after a 5hr ride they will tell you they don't act appropriately.
Good luck

- Debbie (8/5): The location is beautiful. The staff was amazing. It was very clean and quiet exactly what I needed. - Quiet spacious room right across from the lake Didn’t like the TV set up, but that’s OK. It wasn’t to watch TV.
- Greg (9/5): Quaint and quiet - Clean and quiet. Great decor! We walked to The Point Restaurant for dinner and it was amazing .
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): -
- White (10/5): I would come back. - I loved the breakfast at the point. I really enjoyed the antiques and how clean it was. The bed could of been a little more comfortable.
- Ben (10/5): - Very welcoming people and the place has lots of great extras that you don't find in most hotels
- Samuel (10/5): -
- Robin (10/5): - The very friendly and helpful owners have created a lovely small, cozy inn. the decor was fun and antique eclectic. There is a beautiful view of Foster Lake across the road. There is a nice walking path along the lake shore. Next door to the inn is an excellent restaurant.
- Mario (9/5): -
- Dennis (10/5): - Nastalgic, History just a quaint little place, Quiet, rooms are very clean..Friendly house keeper was very nice! Owners were great too!❤❤
- Vandehey (8/5): -
- David (10/5): excellent - great place to stay.
- Annette (8/5): Quaint. - Owners were very welcoming.
Everything was clean and cozy.
The only thing was our room had a bit of a musty smell to it.
- MELODIE (10/5): Aug 20-22 2025 vacation - We were very pleased with the cleanliness.
A lot of thought and planning went into the curated decor of historic memorabilia.
Outstanding rustic display of collections. Doll collection, mirror with ice skates hanging from peg. Treadle sewing machine. Stack of old suitcases.
All items were brilliantly displayed.
Every need was thought of. A small two door refrigerator, microwave & Kcup coffee maker.
Two bathrobes and ample linens.
Mini-split AC unit was efficient in the sitting room with the 95+ temp outside. The use of a standing fan helped to get that nice cool air to circulate through the bedroom.
Bathroom door stuck, hard to close but not an issue for us.
The charm far outweighed any “issues”. Still would rate at five stars.
We lost the lock code card when it slipped out of my hand and slid down the wall disappearing behind the baseboard trim - out of site.
- Wendy (10/5): Perfect Get-Away - We spent 2 nights in this charming inn by the lake. The friendly owners have created a wonderful place to relax with a comfortable bed and all the amenities for a pleasant stay.
- charles (10/5): - Unique old-fashioned room decor.
Pleasant helpful staff. Excellent restaurant within 2 minute walk. Room did not have a "lake view" and but did have a large antique style bathroom
- Laurel Reader (8/5): Employees/Owners (?) were very friendly and kind. And that is always important to me! - We didn't get any breakfast Too much air freshener spray or product throughout. Also thought there would be breakfast, but even the restaurant next door didn't open until 8:00 a.m., and we had to leave at 7.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): Very nice stay, would stay here agin - Spacious, good location, comfortable, easy check in Someone else’s hair was left in the shower
- Konstantinos (10/5): - Excellent location, very clean, super cosy and very nicely decorated. The owners are incredible too :)
- Jennifer (10/5): - This place was great! This was the first “inn” we’ve stayed! I liked the personal feel about it. The owners were really nice and accommodating. We also liked that there was a restaurant to the right and left of the inn. And we had a pretty lake view!
- Stacy tooze (10/5): Pleasant and comfy. - The bed was amazing. The most comfortable bed ever. It's nice to have the recliners and tv and futon , lots of elbow room I was looking forward to using the jet tub, but there was only enough hot water to fill about a quarter of it. I tried it all different times of day
- Jason (10/5): -
- Wymetalek (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Anniversary trip - The host was very friendly. The room was absolutely perfectly clean. It was great to have a fridge in the room.
- William (10/5): - I enjoyed reading about the History of Foster, Sweet ahome and the surrounding area. As I enjoyed my wandering the area, fishing, kayaking and Dining in the area. I would also like to recommend the Point for Dining and the little Dam Bar for drinks, meals and entertainment... As you wander, pay attention to little things like the architecture and area businesses... All of it can carry you back to a more laid back and easy time in our historic State of Oregon.
Our stay at the Inn was awesome as it proved to be a fantastic jump off point and accomodations as we wandered. The majority of the Locals were exceptionally friendly and genuinely intrigued by some of my questions about the area
I highly recommend a stay at the Foster Lake Inn ... I know we'll be back again.
- Rick (10/5): - Loved our visit. Loved dining at The Point within walking distance. Will definitely stay again
- Tracy (10/5): Exceptional - Loved it

- Ash (9/5): Great Stay. - Kim at reception was very friendly and helpful.
We even received an upgrade to our room.
The place was neat, clean and very tidy.
Our bed was super comfy.
The view of the lake and forested mountain is stunning Can be a little noisy at times with the road across the way. It’s not a busy road though at night.
- Maria (10/5): Great place - We left a dress behind but the hosts toss it out.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -

- Evin (10/5): - Really fun to stay in old Inn right across from the beautiful lake!
- Louise (8/5): Great historic inn near a mountain town - Nice historic inn lovingly renovated by the owners. Big suite with spacious bathroom. Friendly owner who was very helpful. Not close enough to walk to town and on a busy road with huge, loud logging trucks.
- Deann (8/5): - We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The owner was there to greet us and gave us great advice for our road trip. They were very friendly and helpful. The property is filled with wonderful antiques, it is very charming. The property used to be someone’s dream lake house and is now a wonderful place to rest by the lake.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phil (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing hospitality. Great location and restaurant next door too. Nothing it was perfect
- Rosie Marie (10/5): - We loved your Inn. Was so pretty and nostalgic. Wish we had stayed 3 days.
Lake front is lovely. Thank you for such a lovely stay.
- thomas (10/5): Awesome location, Helpful host - Foster Lake INN is a quaint building in a very, very beautiful location directly across from the Lake. Nothing fancy but everything you need to enjoy your stay, even in the off season. The town of Sweet Home has a lot more to offer than meets the eye and the POINT RESTAURANT, located 100 yards away, is rated in the top 150 in the US. Less than a hour from Eugene, the Foster Lake Inn offers a very nice contrast to the big hotel chains and definitely worth the experience.
- Alannah (10/5): - Great place to stay, right next to the lake and The Point restaurant. It was quiet, even though it’s on the highway. Bed was comfy, dvd selection was fun, and the bathroom was huge. Would stay again.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - The property owners were very nice. The place is located across the lake and has a beautiful view. The room was clean and comfortable.
- Bre (8/5): Very good -
- James (9/5): Lakeside rest - Steve and wife Great hosts. Right on lake, restaurant next door. Room Very clean and comfy bed. Well decorated. Recommended ! zero
- Andy (10/5): - The owner Greg was super friendly and easy to communicate with. Enjoyed our stay. Down for a hard situation but it was nice to have a clean comfortable place to lay our head at night!
- suzann (10/5): - cozy comfortable and quiet. will stay again. thank you
- Chris (10/5): - :)
- Jeannette (10/5): 3rd stay and wonderful - Very clean. Any needs we had were immediately met. Very charming house.
- Jiao (10/5): - It is a tiny bedroom, but a big bath room. Very clean, much better than I thought.
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good - Small local charm. Next to a restaurant that had good food and prices! Use of artificially scented plug-ins used in the building especially main floor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great surprise! - The owner remodeled this old home and his love for it shows. Definitely recommend staying here, family-owned and they're sweet folks. Comfy bed.
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was charming and nicely decorated. It’s a great place to stay for a couple nights.
- Julie (10/5): - Clean nice room with a very comfortable bed! Very friendly staff!
- Dawn (10/5): - Feel and ambiance of a classic farmhouse. Wonderful view, easy location and access. Highly recommend
- Ralph (10/5): - Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake first thing in the morning, with a cup of coffee as a deer walks by. What more needs to be said - besides, comfortable, clean, inviting. Great place to stay.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (8/5): Linens too scented - The inn is quaint, clean, and owners very kind. I had an issue with the linens. My problem was they had a very strong scent which did not agree with me. I had a very hard time sleeping as a result and woke up with a bad headache. I could not stay a second night which I had paid for because of this so my brother stayed alone. I was disappointed because of this. $300.00 for 2 nights. I will say the room was spotless, and the bed extremely comfortable.
- Toni (10/5): Grandma/Granddaughter Adventure - Foster Lake Inn was a wonderful step back in time…the property was newly renovated and the decor was vintage. The owners had interesting stories about some of the furniture that was from the original owners from the late 1800’s. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and spacious. There is also plenty of outdoor seating with a perfect panoramic view of the lake. We were able to watch a beautiful sunrise and sunset from the front porch. We cant say enough about how wonderful, personable, and kind the owners are. Highly recommend.
- James (10/5): Would have been great to spend more time there. - Actually got there late. After it got dark. The owner upgraded our room. Woke up to an Awesome view of a lake across the street. Great place. Nothing
- Doug (9/5): Superb -
- Evans (9/5): Superb -
- Albert (9/5): Superb - Quaint
Good bed
Air conditioning
Convenient to a great restaurant
- Katy (6/5): It was a nice safe place to stay. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of movies to borrow. Bathroom large. Room for suitcases. Air conditioner kept room comfortable in the very hot weather. It was on the main road through town so if windows were open you could hear traffic. I since it was an Inn and across from the lake i assumed that there would be a lovely place to sit outside. However, when I was there every day was over 90 degrees and there were no shade trees. The deck chairs were mostly in the sun and looked out over the road and there were speed boats on the lake, so it was not as peaceful as I had hoped.
- Merrilee (9/5): Superb -
- Fawn (10/5): - I love this Inn and it's right across the street from fosters lake. Next door to The Point, which has great food and good prices. I stay here to go hiking. There are a bunch of outdoor recreation areas within minutes. And Steve and his wife are just the best.
- Desiree (10/5): - The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated with a Parisian theme.
- Travis (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dar (9/5): Superb -
- Ursula (10/5): Best spot on the Lake - Excellent view!!! EXCELLENT beds!!! EXCELLENT price!!!! The cabinet of old dolls in the upstairs foyer...
Creepy
- Dewayne (10/5): Stayed there 3years in a row. Don’t have a desire to go anywhere else. - Located near lake, restaurant and completely laid back. A work in progress.
- Jeannette (9/5): definitely returning - Extremely clean. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy, clean, & comfortable.
- Frances (8/5): Very good -
- Kimvalrie (10/5): - Nice rooms and very friendly and thoughtful hosts. Highly recommend it!
- Justin (10/5): Great Owners, Great Place - Great owners, Great quiet place to stay. I will defiantly recommend this place to anyone looking for an old fashion country home setting. It's also only walking steps away from The Dam Bar, The Point Restaurant and Foster lake.
- Margo (6/5): place was old but cared for and functional. light from trailer court shone in window all night. - location was great except while the lake was definitely across the street, the building was literally in the front yard of a trailer/camper court. this was NOT shown on the pictures. a little more honesty in advertising. also never saw a soul after someone we phoned checked us in
- Melissa (10/5): - Beautiful spot on the lake.
- Regina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (8/5): Nice and quiet. - Foster Lake Inn was a nice quiet place to crash for the night. It was clean, comfortable and affordable. Used to be a B&B so not surprisingly, it feels more like a home than a hotel.
- Ronald (10/5): - We enjoyed the history and the host.
- Christel (10/5): - It was lovely
- Kim (1/5): Worst owner/manager ever straight shady - The room was nice tub was old and had bugs go into water when turned on jets the owner accused us of smoking and we don't smoke.then tried to take multiple amounts of money from my credit card they even said this was super SHADY do not go here also pretty sure I saw a bed bug.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Marvin (10/5): nice and cozy - didnt have breakfast nothing
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brandon (8/5): Very good -
- Ben (9/5): Great quite place-the only negative would be the unsightly Mobil home park behind it. But all in all had a great stay. - Loved the view-staff was great-food next door was good. Breakfast there was outstanding. Quiet. Nothing really it’s not close to amenities but that’s the reason we stayed there.
- David (10/5): Great -
- Ronald (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Wonderful staff, friendly, helpful. -
