Tania (10/5): Hotellet kändes som paradis på jorden - Estetiskt vackert, väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma personal, och poolen på taket var underbart. Mycket väl städat. Man fick ett personligt bemötandet varje dag. Vi skulle stanna en vecka men vi älskade så mycket platsen att vi stannade hela vårt semester eftersom Jaipur är ett underbart stad med så mycket att se.

The room had glass doors outside which where not sealed and the noise from the nearby restaurant/bar was blurring out all night.

Le personnel très professionnel et très réactif. L'architecture global de cette vaste demeure et son entretien (toutes les peintures semblaient neuves) Le petit-déjeuner : plus diversifié et meilleur que ce à quoi je m'attendais en lisant les commentaires Tout est beaucoup plus petit que ne le laisse penser les photos : - la piscine de 10 m de long - la maison qui est vaste mais qui n'est pas à proprement dit un Palace : rien de luxueux - la taille des chambres A noter le faible débit Internet et les coupures : pourtant signalé dans plusieurs commentaires, la Direction ne semble pas faire beaucoup de chose pour améliorer cet Internet : le pire débit que j'ai eu dans mes hôtels en Inde.

We literally had the same breakfast for 2 days because there were hardly 2 options to select from and we were not confident that the other option would be as ok as the first one! Paul (8/5): Very good - A really nice heritage hotel with lots of old India character. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel was really nice. Staff were relatively friendly, although compared to some of the homestays we have stayed at, it had a much more clinical hotel vibe e.g. no real insights into where the best places and local knowledge you would get from a homestay. Apart from that it was really nice. Very nice and clean rooftop pool, breakfast was good, buffet style and loved the antiques in the reception area
Ralf (1/5): Spend a lot of time on the toilet. - It seemed to be a nice hotel. I got food poisoned in their restaurant. They served me old food. It was likely reheated several times. I choose a more expensive hotel just so I could be safe from this cheapness from the hotel.
Cecilia (3/5): Lovely looking hotel from outside, but everything else was dire. - The outside and gardens of the hotel are excellent. The gardens are well maintained and there are lots of interesting features. Whist you sit there you can view the birds and chipmunks and it can be a lovely suntrap. There is a restaurant directly opposite, a bakery about 50mtrs away and a Starbucks/restaurant about 80 metres around the corner. Apart from that there is very little for a couple of miles. The Pink City is just a short Tuk Tuk journey up the road. Where do we start? The staff would not acknowledge the female guests, always deferring to the male regarding food, their day or the room. IF you want breakfast make sure you are there very early or you get what is left, and most of that has dried out or gone hard. The butter was full of other peoples jam and the only saving grace was the Masala Chai. We upgraded to a Superior Suite and we have no idea why it was considered to be any better. Our mats were covered in hair, we could write in the dust on the hard surfaces, the bed was soft and it was just generally grubby and tired. The plug socket next to the sink was hanging off and there were wires sticking out of the walls/ceilings. The fridge in the room was really dirty and it didn't look like the windows had been cleaned for months. The window alcove sported a lovely window seat however the old sheet covering it and dirty window killed it dead. When we asked for the room to be cleaned, the bed was remade and towels changed, but we had to ask for toilet rolls and water, and then had to wait for them, often having to collect them ourselves. Beer has to be bought with cash, although thankfully it was cold. On arrival I was told not to change the air conditioning temperature as all the rooms were linked and we would change everybody's room at the same time. It sounded like a tractor at night and the ceiling fan would often start and stop without any intervention from us. During Holi, they closed the pool which I understand however I asked if we could sit on the roof to have a drink but this request was declined. When we booked out I was asked how our stay was. When I reeled of a list of issues I was promptly advised they were very busy and they had guests back to back. Bizarrely they must have had ninjas staying as we didn't see many other guests.

Shobhna (1/5): Bad - The gardens and the friendly staff. The dusty smell as we walked in the room. The window curtains were stained, and the cushions were tattered. Tiny iron and ironing board on which you could not iron your clothes. Luke warm water on on 2nd day. On our third morning, we checked out as there was no hot water to shower when we woke up. We were told that it was caused by guest in another room who did not turn their taps properly. When we asked for a refund, they kept the taxes component for the 4 of 6 nights we had fully paid for. It is definitely a 2 star, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had issue with one of the room's bathroom which was smelling quite bad but the hotel promptly moved us to another room. If the rooms were cheaper, this will exceed expectations. But for the price, I would expect more.

Richard (9/5): Wonderful garden haveli retreat in Jaipur - Everything was clean, check in was easy, and staff were helpful. Mr. Singh, the property’s taxi driver was excellent for our trip to Amber Fort. The breakfast was simple but tasty. The pool was nicely set and kept clean throughout the day. Really the star was the property and its location on a quiet, garden street. It did feel like an oasis. The property doesn’t have a bar but the property right across the path has an excellent bar with an extremely nice outdoor terrace. Nothing really. The payment structure through booking.com wasn’t as straightforward as it should have been but was secure. My partner would have preferred a slightly more varied breakfast.

Jacalyn (7/5): Comfortable stay in beautiful building - The hotel certainly has the wow factor. It’s a beautiful building with lovely grounds. The roof is a lovely space to sit on. We didn’t try the pool as not heated and it was cold! The hotel is in an oasis set back from the road where there are several hotels, coffe shops and restaurants amongst the run down area around. To get into Jaipur you probably need to take a tuktuk. You can walk but the road the hotel is in is very busy and very dirty. The rooms are tired and a bit dirty. The light switch is by the door for the overhead lights. There are no bedside lights. The dining room is soulless. A few plants, lights etc will take away the canteen feel it has and make it a lot more welcoming. The hotel doesn’t serve alcohol (only small bottles of beer) so try opposite or Townsend’s down the road for great food and cocktails!

Made us feel comfortable. It was clean and comfortable, quiet and peaceful. WiFi was not very strong at times.

Biswal (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was clean, well maintained with its royal heritage preserved through architecture and collection of rare artifacts in its lobby. The staff was very cordial and made sure we have a very comfortable stay. There are a lot of good up and coming cafes and restaurants around as well and overall the location is great, and close to many heritage sites in Jaipur. They also help you with day tour cab services at a nominal price. NA
Devyani (1/5): I wouldn’t recommend staying there even if it was for free - The suite was nice and big I had booked for 3 nights we checked on after the first night as they had no hot water. Then they lies about the water getting hot in 10 mins. We spoke to another traveller who informed us he hadn’t had hot water for 3 days. We didn’t even stay for breakfast.

Hubert (8/5): Wonderful hotel with Indian place vibes - It feels like a veritable Indian palace! Very well decorated with a nice, peaceful front garden and inner court. The view from the rooftop is pretty good, you can spot Nahargarh Fort. The food available for breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing! Staff is there to help with a personal driver and laundry service at affordable prices. The cold water in the shower could be improved. There were two taps and setting the right water temperature was challenging for me.

Hairdryer also not proper. The bed sheets very low quality and too much noise.

Ball (10/5): Beautiful property, incredible rooftop pool, in the heart of Jaipur but quiet and peaceful, clean and spacious rooms wit - Gorgeous property, beautiful room, pool was amazing, breakfast was decent. Make sure if you have any guests join you that each one is checked in at the front desk with their passport info. If guests are hanging out with you at the pool but are not staying at the property, you have to pay $1000 rupees per person for them to use the pool.

Recommended if you are looking for a typical Indian family hotel with good facilities and Indian dining. Very good laundry service which was much needed. Opposite a really good restaurant called Clock Tower. Passages were a little noisy in the evening.
