Guest Reviews
- Ernesto (8/5): - Near to tourist spots
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Exhaust fan is not working on the room that was given. Slow wifi signal maybe due to number of guest connected. But other than that 5 star service.
- Pureza (8/5): - Very good short stay experience. The buffet were amazing.
- Editha (6/5): - Our room was large and clean, however lacked basic facilities one would expect even in a 3 star establishment such as no fridge (room across the hall had one), no USB ports, no iron or hairdrier no hotel director of services. The walls were paper thin and overhearing other guests and hotel staff conversations at all hours was unwelcomed. Two double beds were quite firm but bed bases were essentially a timber box that the mattress sat in meaning that wacking your shin on a corner was easy and painful. The room looked a little tired and over due for a refresh. Unable to turn off the bathroom lights completly.
The staff were typically pleasant and polite with one exception. The woman incharge of the buffett checkin counter was rude and condescending (a point noted by others in their reviews).
- Angelie (6/5): - Excellent location and staff are very helpful and nice.
Rooms could use a little updating especially the bathroom sinks, showers and lights in the vanity does not work on both our rooms and it’s way too dark to get ready.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Good value, spacious room, good food and fabulous Christmas decorations
- Maria Venus C (10/5): - friendly staff, attend to customers need
will highly recommend
great staff , well trained
- Ofelia (10/5): - Would recommend
- Marilyn (10/5): - Need to improve amenities and bathroom .
Too many staffs but not very attentive to customer’s needs!
- Ofelia (10/5): - Improve amenities and bathrooms.
- Elvira (8/5): - Breakfast Buffet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect
- Eric (6/5): - Price is the only thing thats nice.
- Karl (6/5): - We stayed here for 2 nights, we got the deluxe room with nice view. The place is nice. The room has a ceiling fan. It can get hot at times with only the ceiling fan cooling the room. Fortunately, we got the room with veranda and we just left the veranda door open to let cool air come in. Most rooms don't have veranda.
I am only disappointed with the breakfast. Supposedly, breakfast buffet should be ready by 7am. At 7am the buffet is not yet complete. Coffee is still brewing and not ready.
If you are on a limited budget, this will suffice. Rooms are just ok. No mini bar or fridge. They provide bathrobes.
Parking is not a problem. Problem is that the hotel does NOT have a drop-off area. PWD access is NOT well designed.
- jan (6/5): just ok - The hotel is not very impressive, most elements are run down. About every elment is either stained or chipped or just generally worn.
Rooms are bare, not even a fridge is available. Breakfast buffet was ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Went here last weekend with my partner and son. We came in 4 hours early, and we were allowed to use the pool while waiting. We were allowed to checked in an hour earlier too. Staff are friendly and room service was a breeze. The only thing I can comment is the carpet in the 6th floor, it was a little dirty and unkempt going to our room, and wish they have a bidet in the bathroom, otherwise, everything was great. Will definitely book here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Went here last weekend with my family. We went there 4 hours earlier than check in time, and we were happy to have used the pool while waiting (tho the water was really cold to swim in) and checked in an hour earlier. Everything was great, staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only thing that I think needs to be worked on is the cleanliness of the carpet on the alley, it was dirty on the 6th floor, otherwise, everything was perfect. My son loved our stay and so I would definitely book again here!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There were cracks on the walls of our room. Wooden flooring was squeeking. At times no hot water.
Location is good, parking was not a problem. Food was okay. Gym was good.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Newtown hotel review - We reserved for 2 rooms here and each room is supposedly good for 4 person but a room's bed is only comfortable for 2person, because of its small sized bed, it's just food that we add for extra beds that's why we somehow have slept comfortably..no bidet, towels looks so overused, exhaust fan in our room's cr is not working..one of the reason why we chose this hotel is because of their pool, but sadly, our children were'nt able to use it because it has no heater..
- Evelyn (6/5): - The room was very hot. We opened our windows to sleep at night but was still very hot. No air conditioning and the fan was set that it could not be reset to make the room cooler. The towels were very old and the robe was torn.
- Ronald (6/5): Have seen better days. - hotel had seen better days. the exteriors looks great. did not even bother to take pictures of the room. carpet in the room corridors are filthy. rest rooms have no bidet. no fridge for food.
breakfast spread was also disappointing. i have seen better spread from other hotels of the same level and price range.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Near the tourist attractions, away from the City Center.
- Marco (8/5): - Walking distance to Botanical Garden and Wright Park
- Verified traveler (6/5): - place was not clean during our 2 day stay. there were cobwebs on the wall inside the dining area, and stains on the floor leading to the hallway at 7F. Left over foods are left to stay until we were almost done with our breakfast. Good thing that we brought our own soap and shampoo, the free toiletries like the shampoo and soap was really not usable. Inside the dining area during our breakfast, the dining tables are not setup. we had to get our utensils.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hot water not working at times. The staff are commendable, considering we stayed during the holiday season. The breakfast buffet, however, is not that amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was accessible
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pool is not heated as specified in the hotel details
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love the pool area. But I hope that the staff would help in finding a cab for their customers. Thank you.
- Ginny (6/5): - When i checked in it was smooth at first although the lobby was confusing as it was on other floor, there was no direction where to go to.
I was checked in where i was advised that although i wouldnt have veranda( not available) i will have a good view.when i get to the room it was ok, space was big but the bathroom looks really old and the view was at the back of the hotel where u look down see roofs/ garbage.it was not a good view at all
We went down to the lobby to get lunch and i commented to the (other) lady reception named claire . And she said if i want the city view and veranda she can het me that with additional charge of php300 ( usd6) i was surprised and agreed to it right away as it was advised no avaialble earlier and was not offered this. The new room was far better but sink is clogged, bathroom still looks old .overall rating for this hotel for me is 6/10
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The food was excellent!
- Jane Marie S (6/5): Not organized - Towels are not brand new, looks a bit yellowish from age I suppose. On the 2nd night, bed was made up but there were no towels. Had to call to request it.
Not well coordinated, check out took longer time than necessary. No refrigerator in the room. 4 boxes of cakes was left behind. We checked out before 11am but front desk only called around 4pm when we were already halfway back to Manila. They should have a note in their computer system when the boxes of cake was left with the restaurant so they could remind guests before check out.
- Summery (10/5): - Love the mountain view and the breakfast buffet.the only problem was there is no hot shower in our loft
- Verified traveler (10/5): - more green plants and grass. Would have preferred it than a swimming pool with no heat.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The toilet did not flush and their was cigarette butts in the bathroom. Also the food was tasteless and they use leftovers for breakfast. I will never book this hotel again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good food and nice place for vacation
- Jerttie Rhea (8/5): Family Room - The family room can fit 5 adults (we had an extra bed requested). Room and surrounding were clean. Fresh towels, tissue, water and toiletries restocked daily. No bidet though in the bathroom and no exhaust. No A/C in the room so we left our balcony door open to let the cool air in. (Although I’m not sure if in the summer time weather will still be that cool). There’s an electric fan and ceiling fan in the loft area. 2 toilet & bath. Breakfast buffet tastes good. You’ll have to take a few flights of stairs going to hotel lobby.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This is an awful property. Booked for 2 adults one child. Only received two towels. Safe deposit not working. Room door would not lock. Breakfast terrible. All round a terrible hotel even at three star rating.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cool place - The buffet breakfast was good and the place had enough parking area which is convenient to leave and not worry before returning late at night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is new and hope theywould maintain the place.
- John (6/5): - This hotel needs some upgrading specially those carpets on the hallways. Room was just okay. No aircon in the rooms so expect a warm room during the day in the summer. Breakfast was the best part of our stay.
- Anwar (8/5): A great hotel near the botanical gardens . - It was a good choosen hotel during our stay in Baguio. Near Botanical gardens and Teacher's camp by walking distance by minutes. The hotel provided a free car parking👍. I didn't enjoy the swimming pool coz didn't know about it only next day when I was at the buffet breakfast! The breakfast was excellent so the staff were nice and helpful. All the deluxe and standard rooms have no air-con! Just fans, the executive and business rooms have the air con. I would like to stay again in the same hotel for my next visit.
- Teresita (10/5): - I arrived late but the staff was still accommodating and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. :)
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff great view of Baguio. Good value. Plenty of choice at breakfast.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - bathroom is always flooded, poor drainage. misleading information at front desk attendant
- Verified traveler (8/5): - near tourist spots, good experience staying in newtown plaza hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The staff and their attention to their clients
- Mariles (6/5): - Bathroom needed a pail and hand tub. (Tabo and balde)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Hotel close to botanical garden, bdo atm avail but no toilet bidet and no toilet exhaust. Was looking forward to eat simple western food everything is Chinese food. Thank you for providing fan on a suite room appreciate it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staffs - superb! They are very nice & accommodating, from the security guards to the hotel staffs.
Room - its okay. We had the family room. We are 2 adults & 3 kids. They upper part of the room where the main bed can be found is not safe for the kids. They can fall down from the railings so we are always downstairs or with them upstairs all the time. Have better railings please. Great view though.
Price - reasonable
Foods - the free breakfast buffet is great, foods are great. With free coffee & water in the room.
Restroom - bidet hose please. Toothpaste with "readable" markings too please.
Lobby - huge
Free wifi - its okay. At some point it is slow.
Arcade - superb! Very cheap & my son loves it!
Location - great too
Overall - we enjoyed it. Will definitely come back & hopes to experience better service.
Booking - easy as 123!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money hotel with a good location and very responsive staff.
- Vince (6/5): - Near Baguio tourist spots and church. Accessible immediately for public transpo, etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stained towels and carpets. Took a while to checkout.
- baguio (8/5): - staff customer service is excellent and accommodating.
Cleanliness is fine except the towels that are not white anymore but dirty white in color. no place to hang towels in the bathroom.
more variety of fruits in the buffet area.
air condition needed during daytime.
- Marites (8/5): Birthday @ 53 - Good
- giovanni (4/5): noisy surroundings - location was good near places beds are small. rooms are clean but very noisy you can hear dogs barking and cars passing by having a hard time sleeping.
- Ronald (6/5): - The ceiling fan is thick with dust.
You can hear the voice of people having conversations at their veranda.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - staff are very friendly & helpful
- Kim (6/5): - Our room was facing a construction site, Comfort Rooms has no bidet, the room ceiling has stains, I didnt feel comfortable, i called the receptionist to transfer us the next day, but no one assists us. Breakfast buffet is good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great experience! We have booked again for 2019!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel but room is warm, no aircon..would be excellent if management consider putting up aircon..
- LYNN (6/5): Okay - Hotel is new, neat and clean, but oops, No AC! Luckily it wasn’t too hot being December. Bed, not too comfortable. Staff very good. Breakfast 👍👍General local area nice. Immediate local area= Slummy and under construction right outside my window.
- Chantelle (10/5): - polite staff and good amenities especially for those with kids
- Kaj (10/5): Great! - Excellent to a moderate cost
- Marvin Paul (4/5): - No air-conditioning.
No refrigerator.
Non carpeted.
Floor under bed not very clean.
Internet keeps getting disconnected.
Asked room service to clean but 4 hrs later room still dirty.
Nice view if getting the mountain view room, kaya lang mostly sayang lang because of the above.
Feels cheap.
- Cesar (4/5): Barking Dogs - The bark of the dogs from the neighbours can be heard from the 8th floor where I was staying, I was not able to sleep and during the day the jack hammer on the adjacent construction site was too loud, because of this I checked out after the first night even if I paid for 2 nights.
- Noel (8/5): - Bed is too hard
- RALLY (8/5): - nice hotel can i ask for a refiept of my stay at NEWTOWN PLAZA HOTEL?
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Value for money with breakfast buffet included. Location is accessible.
- Jet (10/5): Good hotel! Food, service, facilities. - Excellent service and good food. Comfortable rooms.
- Jowell (10/5): What I like and What I wish! - It was a nice family vacation. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel especially my kids.
What I like:
1. Free Breakfast buffet - It was awesome! The food are delicious and as in sulit.
2. The room is spacious. My kids really like the room with stairs.
3. The amenities like swimming pool, outdoor play area, amusement room and the kids zone though the last two has additional fee.
4. Staff - they are very accomadating. Our requests were granted. One of the directors of the hotel also helped my wife when she was looking for a cake for my kids as we celebrated their birthdays.
What I wish:
1. To have a separate comfort room near pool area where they can change clothes.
2. The amusement room and Kids zone should have AC unit for more comfort and convenience with the kids while playing. Both places are amoy kulob.
3. AC unit in the room and again to add comfort and convenience with the guest.
4. Parking - Hotel guest should be the priority in the enclosed parking area. Walk in or Restaurant customers should use the open space parking area.
Again thank you so much 😍😍😍
- Timothy (10/5): Our three night vacation in Baguio. - The beds, balcony and showers were nice. I really liked the showers. The breakfast food was great. I am American and my wife and daughters Filapinas. There was plenty of variety for all to be happy. We also enjoyed the nearby resturants and the mango crab "shishi."
Getting around town was easy using the taxi but we did walk the first day to SM and enjoyed the exercise. However, at night we saw the movie "Avengers" and took the taxi cab.
My daughters also enjoyed the pool very much and swimming in the evening. The pool was nice and clean.
I will happily say at Newtown Plaza Hotel again on my next visit to Baguio. Thank you, Tim Birmingham
- LAZO (8/5): Comfortable... - Cool stay. Nice and good food....
- ladydoc (6/5): Fair hotel near botanical garden - Fair hotel... but lacks comfort and far from the center! Amenities in the room must be upgraded to suit the needs of the client!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing - This place is so clean, very accommodating staff, and it has swimming pool with heater. The free breakfast was so delicious and its a buffet. i will recommend this place to my relatives and friends and will be planning to go back again soon with the whole family. We celebrate the Mother's Day on this hotel. The price is so affordable and so near to tourist destination in baguio
- Lilibeth (8/5): - Restaurant always full from outside guests. No priority queue from hotel guest chances are need to eat outside hotel :(
Needs to improve bed (hard and squeaking sound)
Bathrooms have leaks, experienced twice
- Anna (2/5): Hotel NOT properly maintained. - Sticky floors, stained, smelly carpets and moldy restrooms.
- M (8/5): Nice hotel - All rooms do not have air conditioning equipment. Its the hot season and the room was so hot. We asked for standing electric fan but the room was still hot. Can't open the balcony door nor 2 windows because there was no screen and mosquitoes were coming in inside the room
- Jet (8/5): Very good hotel - Good service. Good food.lovely amenities. Friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Has ample parking. There are restaurants right beside the premises if you’re lazy to go outside and just want to relax and enjoy Baguio’s cool weather.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel and suitable for family/group stay. Hotel staff are friendly and the location is near tourist attractions! Breakfast is inclusive and selections are not so bad.
- Cecilia (6/5): - Dirty towels
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bang for the buck - Good location. Friendly staff. Good food. Value for your money.
- Fredy Ryan (8/5): - Room is clean, food is good, staffs are corteous and helpful. But they should install a bidet in the cr.
We will definitely stay here again.
- MATTHEW (6/5): Good decent hotel, but surrounding area noisy - I was awakened by chickens and dogs in the surrounding area at 3am and could not get any sleep as they continued until 6am.
The hotel must soundproof their rooms.
- SC (10/5): - Beautifully located new hotel in the heart of Baguio. The rooms are spacious and the view from the balcony splendid. Facilities are all new. Multitudes of varied restaurants just next door to the hotel to satisfy any type of cuisine. But please do try the in-house restaurant - we were quite pleased with their authentic chinese dishes. Highly recommended.
- Rene (8/5): Good hotel in Baguio - Pretty straightforward hotel type stay if that's what you prefer. I rank this as one of the better hotels in Baguio. All the comforts you may need. Lots of parking slots. Good location in the middle of Baguio. Traffic gets to build up on certain times of the day. Staff was efficient but not as friendly as one would like. Did not encounter any problem with the water supply. Food better than most places in Baguio. Very modern which is a plus but the only hint you are in Baguio is the cool air despite having no air conditioner and if you booked one with a balcony facing Leonard Wood road you will get a fine view of the foliage surrounding the botanical garden. All in all it was fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice place with nearby restos - Nice place, clean and quiet. Breakfast is great too that you can eat at the poolside. There is a bar with reasonable prices of drinks.
- Maria (6/5): Hotel with ants and no air exhaust - Lot of ants in the room, I lost some money in my room no air exhaust inside the bathroom
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was great, although one disappointment which is the swimming pool that is too small and narrow.
- blackass (10/5): Nice hotel - The only concern is about the price of your lunch and dinner buffet is too expensive ✌️✌️✌️
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a very relaxing stay at the hotel. The room is spacious & comfortable, the staffs are friendly & the breakfast buffet are superb!!! 3 thumbs up to the management. My mom is so happy! We'll definitely come back!
- Doc inty (6/5): Nice but lacking basic necessities - Pros:no bidet, clogged sink(room 505), needs more windows, the tissue provided is too thin that melts like butter heated in the oven.
Cons:staff and buffet breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel close to tourist spots - It was a feel good experience and the breakfast buffet was superb. This is our new favorite hotel.
- Russ (10/5): Great Hotel with fantastic Buffets - People come from outside the hotel just to enjoy their buffets. Lots of delicious food. We enjoyed our stay here very much.
- Robert Julian (6/5): Nice hotel but poor bathroom. - The staff are great, the food is good but the standard of the room was below par. The main problem was the bathroom where the shower flooded the floor, the shower glass panel was unstable, the light for the vanity mirror did not work until the mirror was pushed back to the wall (unsafe fitting and electrical connection), limited room to sit on the toilet, plus the audio of the TV was out of phase with the video (fixed but re-occurred), no table or chair for the balcony and no refrigerator to cool drinks although ice was available on the ground floor if requested. The bathroom problem is caused by lack of maintenance.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Internet connection was cut during late evening.
- gerald (8/5): baguio fun - It was alright. The view from the window was nice. The bathroom is clean. The bed though wasnt too good but its was ok. Great breakfast.
- arthur (10/5): One of the best in Baguio - Staying at the Newtown Plaza was an amazing experience. The hotel staff from the guards, the front desk, bell boys, dining and housekeeping were very courteous and helpful. You'll find your stay here well worth your time.
- Pascual (8/5): Very good hotel - The hotel is very convenient to tourist spots in baguio. Just in front of botanical garden. Very near wright park and mansion house. Accessible to baguio plaza thru public jeep.
The staffs are accommodating and very friendly. The standard room is spacious to accommodate travellers.
