Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great little getaway - This was a lovely little cabin that had a kitchen that we use for both meal and breakfast. Everything worked great. They had many extras that made it seem more like home. We enjoyed it very much.
- Katrina (6/5): - This is not a pet-friendly establishment but we had our service dog with us. They allowed him to stay begrudgingly. We were charged $50 after we left because there was dog hair on the bedspread. We swept and ensured there was not a stitch of hair on the couch or anywhere else but missed the hair on the bedspread. If you have a service animal don’t book here. Otherwise it’s a cute little cabin that we were going to book again.
- David (10/5): - Quiet and peacfull stay.
- Michael (10/5): - My family needed a rest stop to break up the drive from Seward to Denali. We all got a great night of rest at the Mooseberry Cabin. I enjoyed spending time by the lake and my family enjoyed the wifi.
- Robert (10/5): - Mooseberry Cabin from initial contact to departure was fantastic. Imagine a long. list of adjectives here like, spotless, comfortable, warm, convenient, friendly, open, beautiful, accessible.. and more.
The proprietors, Maggie and Damon, have gone out of their way to provide a beautiful well-equipped cabin that provides both convenience and privacy.
My only regret is that we were in the cabin for only one day -- it's the kind of place where you can take a break from those long Alaskan drives, sit out at the picnic table, breathe the fresh Alaskan air, walk down to the fire pit and the shore of Nancy Lake.
A great place and a great experience.
- Lavern (10/5): - Maggie was the most friendly host. Made us feel so welcome and very helpful etting us settled in, etc.
- Daniel (10/5): - Excellent for 2 or 3 people. Very cozy and nice access to Nancy Lake. On property of owners who were present and very nice if any issues.
- Kathy (10/5): - This is a fun little cabin; immaculately clean, and well decorated.
- Brett (4/5): - Property was double booked and we found different accommodations
- Eadie (10/5): - Beautiful, well stocked little house. Upgraded, feels new, surroundings beautiful. QUIET and easy to find.
- James (10/5): Couldn’t be happier! - Very happy with accommodations and price. Cabin and area around cabin was clean and well kept. I would recommend this cabin to my family and friends. I’m looking forward to returning for another stay in the very near future. The owners were very nice and loved the homemade cookies and s’mores ingredients that they provided for our stay. This property was well above expectations and once they complete their construction I can only see it getting better for a lot of good times to come.
- Alicia (10/5): Cottage on the lake. - Great stay! Lovely cute lil cabin in a great location. Needs more hot water in the shower, but other than that, a lovely stay.
- Constancia (10/5): Very comfortable - My daughters and I had a wonderful time. This cabin is very cute and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cabin is adorable, clean, and provided everything I needed. The communication was helpful. The bed was comfortable. I only wish I could have stayed (and slept) longer!
- affordable fun (10/5): Historical fun - If you like history and new experiences more than modern luxury, this is a great place for you to stay. This is an old WWII military building, but the owner has done a great job at decorating and making it cozy. She was very friendly and helpful. She brought us a small continental breakfast in a cute basket, and even loaned us a bell and bear spray for our hike. We had a great time there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and hospitable. The overall experience was great.
- Vic (6/5): Poor location, shared bathroom. - This was my first B&B experience and I would avoid in future if I could. Its location is in a residential area of sparse houses, we had a share a bathroom with other guests (phew..missed on reading that condition when booked) .. had to be cautious of others at all times, while using bathroom, kitchen or even talking. I am sure some other might enjoy all this but this is not for me and my family.
- Chris (10/5): Home From Home - Checked into Mooseberry as we were in the area for the start of the Iditarod, it was a great location and the closest we could find from Willow Lake, just a short 2 mile drive.
There was plenty of parking available by the house and the owners thoughtfully moved their car so we could be close to load.
The room was spacious,up a flight of stairs and as it's someones house it was polite to remove shoes at the door. This made the stairs quite slippy, be careful with heavy cases!
It was a bit of a surprise that the room wasn't en-suite, but totally my own fault as I hadn't read the description properly. The bathroom was the next door along the back of the living room. There were separate basins for each of the two rooms and the bathroom (and bedroom) were immaculate and spotless. On this stay it wasn't a problem sharing as the other room wasn't booked.
The bedroom was a generous size and the bed was huge and comfy.
Mooseberry had a stunning balcony offering views over the lake and the owners said they see the Northern Lights regularly, although I'd guess they are on the other side of the house. Unfortunately I was exhausted and slept through a rather active Aurora forecast.
Wifi was easy to connect to, fast and reliable. Breakfast was homemade and cooked to order, delicious! After breakfast we were on our way and never got time to say a proper goodbye or thank you as they had to take children to school; I'm sure we will be back!
- Dawn (10/5): SO hospitable - Maggie was absolutely wonderful!! We felt right at home and she went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The bed was really comfy and Maggie served a WONDERFUL breakfast! She even cooked us salmon in our eggs! But the thing that was the best was she allowed us to use her paddle-boat and go out on the lake! It was gorgeous!
- Laura (8/5): Nice B&B overlooking Nancy Lake. - Owner there just briefly, but gave us complete use of their kitchen to fix our sandwiches we were having for our supper. Maggie was very friendly. Breakfast was basically what we wanted.
