Guest Reviews
- Anna (2/5): - Room in terrible condition. I don't think this room should be offered for staying.
Outside 35F and no heating in the room!!!! I can't stay second night.
- Michelle (6/5): - Im no liked the room i run the hit water for a 30 minutes the whent start to get hot water its to cold and the heat no working
- Eric (4/5): - This did give me a chance to attend a film festival that was outstanding. But the hotel room had no water except for a trickle from the sink. There was no water for the shower or for the toilet. I'll let you imagine what that was like. I complained to the clerk, but nothing happened. It cost $220, which in those conditions was an insult.
- JAYME (2/5): - we did not stay at this property. the manager refused my 17-year-old to stay without me paying more when it clearly stated in the policy people 17 and under are considered children. he took my money though but refused to refund it when I would not pay him extra for a child.
- Gerald (2/5): - Dirty, poor lighting, missing light bulbs, fixtures unplugged. water ver cloudy fro sink tap and tap leaked and dripped
- Bret (8/5): - Friendly staff
- David (4/5): - It was not very clean and `needed much repair. The hot water never really got hot.
- Caroline (2/5): - It was dirty and infested with cockroches would never go back we left and didn't stay
- Jennifer (8/5): - Property needs a little TLC, great location
- Geraldine (4/5): - The place was clean and the location convenient. It took a good 5 minutes for the water to reach a mildly warm state and if you cupped it in your hand you could not see your palm because the water was milky white. We would not dare drink it.
- mihael (2/5): - The place was philthy. The heat did not work. Spider webbs in bathroom. I did not stay.
- Rick (6/5): - The young lady and young man at front counter very nice.
Overall all else below grade.
A bit disappointed with Expeddia on this one.
My fault for not checking REVIEWS first.
Never again.
Do not recommend
- Webster (4/5): - Nothing to like, I had no choice it was getting late. Room smell like latrine. Paint chipping everywhere, not worth the money.
- Mark (6/5): - Convenient location for Delta Lake Triathlon.
But, 2 towels were dirtied from someone wiping some black or brown substance on them prior to my visit.
Also, though room was labelled non-smoking, the room was damp and musty with definite smell of cigarette smoke… I opened up windows and entrance door wide & used my personal box fan to circulate outside air through the room and out the window in bathroom for about 2 hours. This helped a lot. I ran AC and kept bathrooom window all nigh to keep clean air coming in during sleep.
- Alberto (2/5): - This hotel is for squatter
- Raymond (2/5): - Years ago my uncle would stay there when he visited from California. Sometimes stay for two weeks. It was very clean and cozy then. The outside was well kept. While I stayed there it should have been closed to customers. They were power washing , stripping the old paint off the outside walls. Both days I was there. The owner/ manager lives in a house connected to the motel. I was one of the only customers staying there. Those that were were cooking outside their rooms because there were no inside cooking facilities. The owner manager should have charged me half of the regular 85$ rate if he insisted on staying open while this major improvement project was being done. And my car was in the middle of all this and during the day hours I had to leave or be subject to this power washing right outside my door. It should not have been advertised as open for business
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very old and smelly! Reminded me of the bates motel and very expensive for a night stay!!! But the room was warm and had hot water
- Verified traveler (6/5): older motel - Rooms were clean, basic room, older motel, no room service but that could be due to covid. we stayed 4 days and only had the bed made once.
- Melissa (4/5): Ever agIn go there - The room was cold no heat available. The bathroom was dirty. The rugs dirty beds were uncomfortable the room had a bad odor of funk. The water in the shower was hot then cold then hot then cold. The price was 120 a night it was no five star hotel. Its a motel in the middle of nowhere. Not much around to eat no pool no gym no laundry just a hiding place to stay
- David (4/5): Would not stay again - This place was a gamble for me. There were some poor reviews but my inner cheap-xss got the best of me and, in life sometimes I wanna get outside my “usual”
The place was kinda cute as I drove up in a 1960’s type of way and the women at the front desk seemed very nice.
Pros:
Full kitchen with fridge, sink, range/oven, micro for $65
Towels were new
No sign of any bugs save for a few small spiders
Fridge worked great
Bed was super firm but provided a good night’s sleep
Cons:
The facilities are not only old but run-down. The kitchen was ok but the bathroom was not. I didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower seeing the tub floor
The rooms were not cleaned to any standard Understand, I was not expecting a chain hotel’s standard of cleanliness, but there were cobwebs and dirt in many places indicating a lack of everyday cleaning
There was a pubic hair on the blanket
There was a cIgarette hole in sheet.
Air conditioner missing knob impossible to turn on
A few small rodent droppings in the cabinet (see pic)
The pube didn’t bother me all that much but a top sheet with a cigarette hole was the dealbreaker.
Bottom Line: I would not stay here again and I have found my “line” between being a thrifty person who is not pretentious about these types of things, and being someone who expects basic cleanliness.
If the room was $25, I might take a second look...but for $65, I need a sheet with no burn hole and a shower I feel good about getting naked in
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The parking lot is rough the room was damp and smelled bed
- Phoenix (8/5): Nothing fancy, but very welcoming & comfortable! - The gal at the front desk was super warm, friendly & helpful- we felt very welcome immediately! The place is not at all fancy, so if you're looking for something that looks really nice, this is not it-- and it may be at least a bit overpriced for that reason. However, we were quite comfortable & enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not safe - The chain lock was not attached to the wall. Owner wanted me to trust that the security cameras made it safe. Argued with me when I asked to cancel the remainder of my stay and would not refund the night after being there 1 hour. (In fact, charges me their normal rate instead of the rate hotels.com gave me)
- Nate (2/5): - You know the "shady motel" trope you see in movies and TV? Well here is example A. Stains on the walls. A roach trap behind the toilet. Weird smells. Bathrooms that would be too gross for a campground. I've been in humble motels before, and while those experiences weren't amazing, they weren't bad either. This was disgusting.
- BETH (4/5): Great welcome but sketchy digs - The place needs an overhaul. Hard to keep it clean because the carpet, bathroom and caulking is older. Stains in bedding. Smelly in room. A/C unit worked. Great welcome at front desk.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - They did not have our reservations and were surprised at our arrival. Room given was not room I reserved on line. No towels, no toiletrys, no coffee. Bathroom had mud splatter on walls (did not appear to have been cleaned) TV had no volume.
- Verified traveler (4/5): OK to sleep, nothing more. - Since my daughter and I were just sleeping at the hotel, it was ok for just that. The room was tiny, and the bathroom was just large enough for me to squeeze into. Pipes ran through the room, and water was going through them on and off all night. The room was very hot (it was 30 F outside). WiFi was locked and we weren't given a password.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room had a bathroom that was rusted on fixtures. The TV was terrible to view. The toilet was stuffed in a small corner! Horrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We asked for a nonsmoking room, and we walked into a room that you couldn’t breathe in. The bathroom still has hair in the drain of the tub from the previous tenant. It looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. The parking lot also hasn’t been cleared of snow until midday, so we had to drive through a foot of it to get anywhere. I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.
- Susan (6/5): - We just needed a place to sleep and shower and the Rome Motel fit the bill perfectly. Could use some updating but certainly was comfortable ( great sleep!), reasonable, and friendly proprietor and very close to our destination! Would stay there again as so convenient!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great quiet location - This is an older, basic motel in a nice quiet part of town. Owner very personable.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - There not much to say that is positive, other then it was a roof over my head for the night. We were in a pinch and didn’t have too many choices of places to stay. After reading the reviews, we got what we expected. We were afraid to sleep with the pillows and blankets supplied for the room, so we went to Walmart and bought some.
- Maryann (10/5): 😲❤️ - Comfortable!!! People were great!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bathroom was disgusting: bugs everywhere, the tub was peeling and rusted. Water pressure was nearly non existent.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terribe - Worst Motel Ive ever stayed at,dirty, small room and the bath should be condemned.
Absolute worst!!!
- frank sal (2/5): - Bathroom tomorrow in every need of updating the tub possum was all gone I wouldn't let my dog take a bath and at the ceiling fan in the bathroom was so clogged with mildew and we have framed to stay in that room longer than 20 minutes
I'm trying to check out in the morning and shorten my stay nobody at the counter I had to leave a handwritten note saying I was not saying the second day I do hope you will credit my second day
The motel appears to be in dire need of updating I would appreciate a response to my survey especially regarding credit for the second day which I did not stay I checked out at 8:30 in the morning This review has no insults or profanity
I would just like a response To know it was recd. I have photos if you want them
- David (4/5): Far from acceptable - The room is barely big enough to move around in. The sheets and bathroom were dirty. There's no staff and no housekeeping. More of a long term cheap living situation for some. It's just bad.
- James (6/5): - Okay place for a motel. Wouldn't stay more than 1 night. Woke up at 6am to the sound of violent throwing up next door but then again, it is a motel in the middle of no where Central NY
- Dennis J (6/5): Cold in Rome - For the price of $70 a night it was pretty rough. More in line with a $50 a night place. Also no breakfast.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ok as long as you don't have high expectations. - Poor heading control, lights on motion control and the bathroom switch is outside of the bathroom, lights would go out when in the shower. The bed, TV, etc, were Ok. Would not bring my wife there.
- Manuel (6/5): Rome isn't where it is! - it was alright but very cold and rainy
- Sheila (10/5): Mom & pop motel - It was a one night getaway so for that and price this was perfect. It was quiet clean. Its small its like a mom & pop motel no big franchise sweet people. I wouldn't stay longer than a couple days in a single room because its small but for a getaway to casino for a couple it was PERFECT
- Gill (6/5): nice for the price - I was visiting relatives in the area and this was very conveniently located. Very nice and clean hotel at a good price
- Chris (4/5): Small room. - Stayed in a room with one full bed. The bathroom was very small. So small it was a tight fit to sit on the toilet. I'm a slim person weighing just 150 pounds. The couple next door starting arguing with each other around 4am and kept shouting and swearing until I checked out at 8am. Terrible experience.
- Kenneth (2/5): Pour motel stay. - The smell was not good, checked out after first night, my wife couldn't handle another night.
Door jam had been ripped off already we put chair against door to have alittle security.
Shower wall had not been chalked in place just there against the wall.
Water changed temperature while showering several times, almost burnt me. Enough I could go in and on
- James (4/5): - AC didn't work. Clerk acted upset I was questioning her. She did something with the AC unit but didn't fix the problem. It was a very hot evening, and we had to open the window. The AC just blew warm air.
- David (8/5): Good Value in Central New York state - Nice independent motel. Front desk people were courteous. Price was right.
- Barbara (6/5): - Room was comfortable. Microwave and fridge in room.
- Chris (6/5): Perfectly Average - No complaints about the room. It was clean and had everything that was advertised. Definitely a "no frills" place but for the money I was pleasantly surprised. The shower head should have been a bit higher in my bathroom though.
- Darwin (6/5): Good value stop - I'm in sales and was tired of driving for the day so this got the job done. It was a no frills place but was clean, comfortable & quiet.
