Guest Reviews
- Chris (10/5): - Very nice and clean! Zane was great
- Lynn (10/5): - Nice room, friendly staff, views from the dining room beautiful. Pool area nice, and happy hour great!
- Bobby (10/5): - The staff were so friendly and helpful. Al is awesome! The room and Inn was the fourth one on our 8 day road trip and by far the best!
- Alex (8/5): - The place was awesome, I loved the bikes they provide to ride around the coast/town. The only downsides I can think of are we thought we booked the coast/oceanfront part of the property, but we ended up in the Clubhouse, a little further back away from the coast. It was great, but I just wished we know that beforehand. And I have to say, the Ocean restaurant's food was mediocre at best.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Eduardo (9/5): Great Place - facilities confy and nice
- Randy (10/5): - This hotel is located in a beautiful and elegant neighborhood of town. This property is first class and the management is excellent.
- Farah (2/5): - DO NOT stay at the Club House. It is separate from the main hotel and is a bit far to call walkable access to any of the main property amenities. The room was old, not well ventilated, all furniture was worn out and didn’t even look clean (probably because it was so old). The hallway rugs stained and also very very old. We could not stay in the room as I feared allergies would have me sick after staying. Never have experienced something like this before- especially at a price point of > $500 per night. The hotel helped us find another place to stay which was fabulous and they were quick to help. I writ this mostly to make others aware of the condition/situation w the Club house.
- Lavigueur (8/5): Very resourceful - Very clean place. Well organized
Every questions were answered Nothing

- John (7/5): Seems like the clubhouse is not the nicest part of this property, but would consider staying at the main inn on the wate - Beautiful location, and it was nice to receive some goodies and a bottle of wine when we arrived to the room. The room definitely seemed dated and had some issues. Paint peeling in the bathroom. Older/outdated decor. The leg of the ironing board was about to break in half which made ironing our outfits for the evening difficult. When we got back from dinner, there weren’t any parking spots available in front of our building so we had to park a little ways away at the main check in building. Not ideal in the rain.
- Kateryna (4/5): - The location is not as advertised. The club house is a pretty long walk from the main house and the ocean. We tried to switch to the main house but even rooms advertised as ocean view had no ocean to be seen. The staff is extremely poorly trained and unhelpful.
- Heather (4/5): - This property falsely advertises having a spa and gym on property. A sister hotel nearly 20 minutes away is available for massage bookings was the only response I got from the concierge, even though their Expedia profile and instagram say otherwise. The gym is an empty room with a peloton and a handwritten sign “Peloton out of service.” Additionally, the lack of care and attention to detail is off putting to say the least considering you pay nearly a grand for a two night stay. Though they left a bottle of wine in the room, there was no wine opener anywhere. When I called the after hours number and left a voicemail, we were awoken by hotel staff at 8:20 AM repeatedly knocking at our door and yelling they had a wine opener. The jets in the bathroom tub were broken. I am incredibly disappointed in this hotel as I spent countless hours trying to find a hotel to stay at. We chose this hotel for the amenities and aesthetic they boasted, and it was a complete fabrication.
- sims (10/5): - nice pool area.
front desk of main hotel not as friendly as they should be.
desk of their satellite hotel was very nice and helpful.
- PIERRE (10/5): - Tout
- Deborah Geller (10/5): - Great location! Friendly and very helpful staff. Great rooms.
- Kelly (10/5): - Cape Arundel was excellent! Clean, safe & the staff was so helpful! Where do you check in to a property & the person behind the check in actually carries your luggage to your room? They were so personal! Checking into the room and there was a hand written card welcoming us along with a bottle of wine! The property is centrally located overlooking the water, walking distance to restaurants & a short drive (5 min) into town. The shuttle & bicycles was an added surprise! Delivered to your room every morning fresh baked goods! When I go back it’s the ONLY place I would stay! 5 Stars from me!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - the property was small quaint inn on the hill. it was a pleasure to stay in. the staff was so helpful and any thing you needed you just need to ask. the resturant food was wonderful. i will stay again if i come back this way. thanks
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great breakfasts. Great service. Friendly atmosphere. Convenient location, beautiful room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent property and service. Location outstanding
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was outstanding, especially the view. Staff was beyond helpful and friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely, quiet property. We would definitely stay here again. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful and the clean, quiet Bunk House was perfect
- Francesca (10/5): - This property was AMAZING! Beautiful setting! One of the best dinners I have ever had. Very, very accommodating and kind staff. Thank you!
Man må gå meget langt for at spise i hotellets restaurant. Trænger kraftigt til modernisering. Måtte selv slæbe kufferter op at dårlig trappe værelset på 1. Sal.
- Michael (8/5): - Cape Arundel Inn is like going back in time to a kinder and gentler reality. Nothing hurried, nothing taken for granted. The room we stayed in was well appointed, comfortable, quiet and charming. What more would you want? Dinner with a view that never diminishes and excellent food/service. The breakfast should not be missed. They make their own blueberry jam and it is divine! Ok, it is fairly expensive, but the location, amenities and aforementioned time travel do require good people and well maintained facilities. We certainly enjoyed our all too brief visit!
- ELIABETH (10/5): - It was a MAGNIFICENT visit! We Thank GOD for such a BEAUTIFUL destination!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Amazing location, great quiet room and very friendly and helpful staff. We had dinner on my birthday in the restaurant - the meal was really good and the staff went out of their way to make it special with a table by the window overlooking the ocean, giving us free fizz and a dessert with a candle! We stayed in a club room in the annexe which was in beautiful surroundings and just a short walk to the main building with fantastic coastal views so best of both worlds!
- John (8/5): Resort fee too high - Nice facility and overall good service. Unfair to charge resort fee when some things, like food options near pool, not available. Was told by staff that it only starts later in summer. Not much offered for $35 a day.
- nancy (8/5): Great spot in Kennebunkport - Great place to stay!! View is magnificent!! Complimentary breakfast is excellent!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Upgrade when we arrived for our getaway. Had stayed with them before. Great place and very comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the location as well as clean. Staff was really friendly and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): Nice room overlooking the ocean - When I booked the room some months back I guess I didn't realize it was about a mile or so outside of the main shopping/tourist area so when we got into town and the GPS said to keep driving we were a bit disappointed.
However once at the hotel we were glad we were out of all the tourist traffic and in a quiter area. The young lady who checked us in (I believe her name was Nia) was very welcoming and once we got into our room we were really happy to have an awesome view of the water and the very nearby Walker compound where we actually saw the former president George W. Bush and family pull out of after the wedding of their daughter. One caveat is that the hotel is older and we could hear our upstairs neighbors conversations very clearly. I think the walls might be a bit thin.
The room came with a free breakfast which was nice but I do have to say that the service in the restaurant was a bit stiff and slow.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice stay! - Great stay. Good clean accommodation and welcoming staff.
- George (10/5): - The main building and dining room were beautiful with an amazing ocean view. The club house and pool were also beautiful. The room was very nice and the staff were wonderful.
Highly recommended.
- Susan (8/5): - Furniture could have been more comfortable in our room. Sink was too low.
- Glenn (2/5): - I book a room with an ocean view, they earned me to pay an additional $200, we were put in the clubhouse 1/3 of a mile from the main building with no view of water of any type. The gave us a King bed instead of a queen, it's not what I asked for.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great spot to enjoy Kennebunkport - We arrived at 10am after taking a redeye from California and the room was ready for us to take a nap and enjoy some down time before a busy week.. Staff was very hospitable an very accommodating. We could not ask for more from the hotel staff.
Only complaint is the WIFI was not easily accessed and or available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice hotel - Hotel was clean right on the water and the views were spectacular. Staff couldn’t been nicer and very helpful. Restaurant was excellent and I would definately go back in future!
- Debra Hill (10/5): - This is my favorite place to stay in Kennebunkport. The service is always excellent. The staff wonderful, welcoming and helpful. It is like going home..
- James (10/5): A room with an Ocean View to soothe the soul!!! - The Inn exceeded all expectations from stepping into the reception area where we were greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. Room was ready hours earlier then check in. The view from our room and balcony facing southeast had an unobstructed view of the ocean The room , recently renovated, contained two comfortable reading chairs, good lighting , gas fireplace which add warmth to the ambiance. Dinner at the Inn’s Ocean restaurant was 10+—service , wait staff , quality and presentation of food was the best we have experienced in over ten yrs. We can’t wait to go back!!!!!
- Theresa (10/5): Very nice - Very nice inn. We stayed at the club house which was a 10 minute walk to the inn. They did offer a ride in a golf cart if needed. Breakfast was included in your stay and served at the main inn. The breakfasts were delicious.
- Bryan (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE !! Warning !!! - I booked two nights at Cape Arundel Inn & Resort located at 208 Ocean Avenue Kennebunkport, ME 04046 at arrival I was notified that they were putting us up at one of their other properties..... Now I booked this place because it was on the ocean with ocean views and a restaurant what I got was a apartment building 3 1/2 blocks in and the only view was of trees and other buildings and no restaurant, the restaurant was at the listed address where I booked the room at it had almost no parking and it was closed I paid for oceanfront and got a parking lot..... When I complained they offered me a glass of champagne, I never would have paid the amount I did for a location such as this! The only reason I stayed was because it was late and off season so a lot of places were closed. This is a scam showing you one place and putting you up in another DO NOT STAY HERE !!
- Patrick (10/5): It's all about the ocean. - We stayed at the clubhouse, which is 1/3 mile from the main facility. Breakfast was free at the main facility, an easy walk. Love to listen to the waves crash on the rocks, directly across from the inn. Fabulous view. Quiet and relaxing. The food was very good. Service and staff were exceptional. Very clean and comfortable. My wife and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Gorgeous - Place was beautiful and just what you'd expect for east coast....can not say enough good things about this and the area was gorgeous....
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional - We visited Kennebunkport for our anniversary and stayed at Cape Arundel Inn. The facilities are amazing, food wonderful, and location right on the ocean you can’t beat! We’d stay there again in a heart-beat!
- Sid (10/5): Met all expectations! - My wife and I were looking for a special lodging and dining place that provided an opportunity to experience the exquisite coast of Maine in late September. The Cape Arundel Inn & Resort met all our expectations!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Old fort building was dark and gloomy. The pool was filthy and not maintained. Disappointing because we made an effort to spend the day there and it was horrible.
- JZ (10/5): Sst Among the Mansions - The Cape Arundel sits on a wonderful spot with views of the ocean and the Bush compound at Walker's point. The Old Fort Inn where we stayed is a short walk or golf cart ride away. The room, second floor, was spacious and included a fireplace. Breakfast each day overlooking the ocean at the Cape Arundel was excellent as was our dinner. The staff are extremely accommodating and make every effort to please their guests. There is a paved sidewalk along the coast for walks, jogs and bike rides and a walk into Kennebunk takes about 15 minutes with shops and restaurants along the way. There is a nightly shuttle that runs from 5PM to 10:30 PM which was very convenient and always on time.
The homes near the Arundel are out of a movie - breathtaking to look at. The Arundel attracts very nice people, more couples than families and we would stay again without reservations. Great spot to tour Maine or just enjoy the surrounding Kennebunkport area. The people we met and the staff really make the place special. Maine has a certain hospitality that you find in all the staff at all of the restaurants and shops which makes each experience special.
- Pat (4/5): Not to my liking - The address was on Ocean Ave in Kennebunkport but when we arrived, we were told that it was a different location. This was made not clear when I booked by phone. The hallway carpet looked worn & dirty. The room was dark with poor lighting & carpet was buckled. The window air conditioner was noisy. The bed was very comfortable & the heated bathroom floor tiles nice but overall not good value for the amount paid. I do not recommend this hotel. There are many hotels in this area, I will not stay in this one if I return to this location.
- Eric (4/5): Be careful - Be careful when booking this property. The main part of the hotel is right on the ocean with beautiful views and this is what is shown in all photos of the property. However, they also have a second part of the property (they call it a "sister property") that isn't disclosed when booking. This secondary location is back in the woods behind the main location. Its older and has no views whatsoever. And you have to go back to the main property for breakfast. This wouldn't be a huge deal if they actually presented the property this way and disclosed this at the time of booking. Seemed like a bait and switch.
- Verified traveler (10/5): beautifull location and friendly staff - Location is amongst the best in the region, overlooks President Bush summer retreat. View from the Ocean restaurant is just gorgeous. We will definitely go back
- Lou (10/5): Endroit merveilleux.
- Randi (10/5): Great Gatsby in Maine - We were upgraded to a beautiful suite in the carriage house without asking. The breakfast was fantastic, totally included with very upscale choices. The porch is extremely wonderful facing the coastal waters and the Bush compound in the distance. Heated pool, pool table, shuttle to town in the evening. It was all very well done!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful, peaceful Oceanside experience. - The Inn is magical and the staff delightful. Will definitely return and will recommend to anyone O hear is traveling to the Maine coast.
- burt (4/5): Disappointed in Maine - Nightmare. Food service was awful. Room was over machinery that made our bed and chair vibrate. Morning manager was great.
