• Steven (10/5): - Room was clean and welcoming. Very comfortable. Sink area in bathroom was tight and could use some shelving for personal toiletries but all in all an excellent space. We enjoyed our stay immensely!
• Lesli (6/5): - Pros: free water, chocolate chip cookies, breakfast voucher ($27 to cover 3 ppl :/) to a great cafe. Coffee machine. Responsive host. Door code easy entrance. Ear plugs provided. Fluffy towels, lots of TP. TV with mute and CC options. 2nd bedroom had a mini couch to sit on. Free parking. Cons: listing photos need to be updated. We stayed in the Orange Blossom Room on the front of the house. There was no comfortable seating in the room, the desk was child sized and cramped in a corner. Loads of bird poop covered walkway to entrance. Porch was very dirty and the chairs were covered with pet hair. 2nd bedroom is only accessible through bathroom. Bathroom door was sticking really bad. Woke up everyone when shut or opened. The neighborhood was noisy. Loud dragsters and a car alarm went off forever on our night. The beds are quite high making it difficult to get in or out for some. The tub, fixtures and liner curtain were gross. Need to be replaced. P.S. I went back and looked at the reviews from past years and noticed others have mentioned this and suggested replacement. Time to take care of it! Final thought: I mention all the above because I always read the reviews before choosing a place to stay. The listing photos and reviews were the reason I finally chose this property. In my humble opinion, I feel the $214 charged was way over what I feel this particular room should be. Of course, we all see and value things differently. You be the judge. :)

It had all amenities we needed plus some special items that were truly considerate: cookies, water, mints & even ear plugs as AC was a little loud. Was truly a treat! Wish I could have seen the owners to personally thank them as we checked in and out with instructions sent via text. Made it very easy and convenient. Was easy walk to several restaurants. Would recommend!

We saw The Fiddlers Inn, on the booking site we use, and decided to try something different. I’m so glad we did. The room had its own exterior door, a cute bathroom, awesome bedroom, and all were very nicely decorated, and clean. 7 year old was running around checking everything out: “They left us cookies! You can have my earplugs, if I can have your peppermint patty! We can read these books! I’m first in shower!” Breakfast comes in form of a voucher to cafe, 2 doors down. I had bacon egg cheese croissants, she had French toast. Then I had time to braid her hair, before heading to the caverns. Perfect stay. Thank you Jenn
• Nethaniel (8/5): - The stay was nice and all, but its definitely a small area thats cramped and overpriced for what it is worth. The breakfast, like many stays, is very meh. They just give goua coupon to go to the breakfast restaurant next door which is very good but very busy. Good luck trying to catch them on time if you want biscuits and gravy! Other than that...the yard is very nice, the rooms are comfortable, and I absolutely loved the cats there.

Good reliable internet, especially for this level of accommodation seems basic nowadays. Also I don’t recommend staying the basement room because the upstairs footsteps are loud and annoying.

What we were most impressed about was the service we got when one of lamps was missing the light bulb. The lamp itself actually didn't work so they tracked down a replacement lamp for us. That was definitely going above and beyond. The ice and water in the fridge was also helpful. Lastly, the breakfast voucher worked well and it was nice to get what we wanted. I would definitely recommend the Fiddler's Inn.

There is no reception desk and I didn’t receive any check in info prior to arrival but once we made contact, everything was a breeze. The room was adorable - quaint and comfy. Breakfast is next door at the blue house cafe (you get a voucher) and this is a happening and fun bakery cafe. This is an anti- chain type of place but I give it high marks and would stay again!

• Westah (10/5): - This property is super cute and well kept. The rooms are unique and provide a fun getaway outside of the normal hotel stays. It is located within walking distance of the Blue House bakery (which you WILL want to visit) and a grocery store. Parking is available out front and was free and convenient to access. It is within driving distance of many must see places such as Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains national parks. Management was very accommodating and addressed any issue or concerns promptly. We would stay here again and highly recommend it.

• Verified traveler (6/5): B&B gets C&C Grade - It wasn't for me. There are different expectations for B&Bs. If you are desiring charm and contact with fellow guests, this is not the right place. Sure, there was a text before your arrival, and frilly decor. The best B&Bs, IMO, are the ones where you can interact with the host and other guests. There were some things that didn't work in the room, like one of the USB ports on my wife's side of the bed. But texting for assistance or reporting issues is just awkward in this setting. The breakfast was delicious, but it's at a popular bakery. So, you are competing with a crowd. It's not really the peaceful atmosphere to start your day. It was a convenient walk to all we needed. So, charmless and convenient gives it a Grade C. This was our choice for our 29th wedding anniversary. So, it was a pleasant enough stay, but also disappointing.

Comfortable beds, all the amenities travelers might need with the charm of staying at someone's home. Easy parking and responsive staff. We had a nice one night stay.
• Mark (10/5): Charming Cottage - We were on the area to see Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The room was very quaint and comfortable, except for the sitting chairs. We especially liked the little breakfast shop that came with staying here. The food and coffee were outstanding. It was packed with townspeople. We also enjoyed the restaurant that was recommended in a little guest book in the room.
• Lisa (10/5): - We enjoyed a fantastic stay at Fiddler’s Inn. We appreciated the darling, comfortable atmosphere and amenities. We’ll likely be returning when we visit Carlsbad in the future. The improvements I’d like to see in Orange Blossom would be removal of the worn carpeting, an updated King mattress, replacement of the bathtub, grab bars in the tub area and a higher mounted shower head. Overall, a gem to be able to lay one’s head while visiting Carlsbad.
• Tobey (6/5): Cute little B&B - This is an old house converted to a B&B. There is no one on site and access instructions are sent via text. When we arrived there was someone already in the room and we scared the heck out of them trying to open the door. i called the number on the door and Jennifer was very apologetic, getting us an alternate room for the night. The room was very clean, definitely not your standard chain hotel room. The only parking is on the street, but we had no problems with parking. Overall not bad at all.
• Amy (10/5): - A lovely place to stay! Close to the caverns and many places in Carlsbad were walkable, like the cute bakery a minute walk away! Comfortable bed and cozy room.
• Wendy (10/5): Cute and comfy - Super cute room with Sailor theme. Comfy bed! Great place to crash after a hike through the caverns.
• Micheal (10/5): - Me and my husband drove up to Carlsbad to hike McKittrick Canyon and see the leaves changing. We decided to stay here because it just looked so inviting. We were not disappointed at all. We had a great stay and enjoyed the amenities.
• Kala (8/5): - Loved our stay here in the Sailor’s Hornpipe. The room is below ground so super quiet. We enjoyed hanging out in the courtyard although a bit noisy. Although we loved the room itself the overall property looked a little tired. Seems like a little attention could make a huge difference.

• Kate (10/5): - I'm so glad we booked Fiddler's Inn! We had the Sailor's Hornpipe room and it was wonderfully cozy but not too small. The room is down a set of stairs and there's plenty of room for two suitcases near the front door so you don't need to walk everything down. The bed was comfortable and the welcome cookies were delicious! Easy safe parking right outside on the street. The bakery where you get the breakfast coupon was half a block away and had plenty of options. We spent a little bit more than the amount you're given but we decided to splurge a bit. Would stay again!!
• Rene and Sheila (10/5): - Great in and out to Carlsbad. Loved the restaurants with discount card. Only thing I would suggest is more lighting. Room was very dark and lighting challenged. Meaning light available shined in eyes. Light near couch lamp not working. Hot tub was not advertised like on reviews but water (rainfall) was way down for the year. Great stay but be mindful of the small things people notice.

• Charles (10/5): Wonderful Place - What a great find in Carlsbad. The house was easy to find, the parking was right in front of the house, and the room was outstanding. The owner worked with us on a minor issues, not her fault (water main broken) and she was easy to reach and communicate with. We had a small studio apartment in the back of the property. Included a small kitchen, large refrigerator, sofa, chair, small table, king size bed and bathroom. The room was in great shape, clean and inviting. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of blankets if you need them. The unit was well supplied, with things like plates, wine glasses, towels and paper. She left chocolate next to the bed, coffee on the counter and chocolate chip cookies on the table. :) The house is surrounded by businesses, but more like dentist offices and such, all closed by the time we arrived and not an issues. Two doors down was a bakery, which you are given a credit to get breakfast. Outstanding food. My number one choice for the area if I were to return in the future.

• Gloria (10/5): - We both loved this place. It feels like a home away from home. You don’t have to check in with anyone. They send you a text message with the code and instructions shortly before you check in which is convenient and the room is so nice and cozy. The room has microwave, fridge, tv and everything else you could think of. Very clean and comfortable as well. The shower is wonderful and has a rainfall shower head. I loved it so much that I bought a rainfall shower head for my own house. The bathroom and sink is very nice.

• Elias (10/5): - Man I loved this place! Very comfortable! The staff were so nice, it was my wife’s birthday so I asked them to leave a note on our bed and they printed a cute note on some decorative paper! 10-10 this place is a hole in the wall!
• Rachael (10/5): Would stay again - We really enjoyed our stay. The room was quiet and comfortable. We would have loved to hang out in the lovely courtyard, but the extreme heat wouldn’t allow it. The cat welcoming committee was a nice touch too.

• David (10/5): - This was a great find staying at Carlsbad before going to the Caverns. Loved the room, very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed breakfast at the Blue House. It is near a busy street but earplugs are provided… and cookies! I definitely recommend.

When I arrived, I realized it was a Bed and Breakfast. I typically don't use B&B's because of the sometimes community setting and occasional shared facilities. This place was absolutely the best room I have ever stayed in. The rooms are all separated with individual outside entrances. My room was the "Sailors Hornpipe". It had its own climate control and full bathroom. The decorating was awesome with the ships captain theme. My only regret is that I did not have the time to stay longer. Very clean, very friendly owner on site. I would highly recommend the Fiddler's Inn.

• Carolyn (10/5): - Fiddler's Inn is like staying at a friend's home. We were in the Orange Blossom Suite; it was adorable, and there were so many nice touches and amenities, like homemade cookies! Jenn was an amazing host! She made sure to contact us and communicate with us. She was very responsive to our questions. The breakfast offered two doors down at the bakery was wonderful, and the general location right in downtown Carlsbad make this property an ideal location.
• Anne (10/5): Great Place! - The Fiddler’s Inn was a wonderful place for our short stay in Carlsbad. We were in the Orange Blossom suite with two rooms, one for the adults and one for the children. Grocery store and restaurants are nearby and the cafe for breakfast had great offerings.
