Guest Reviews
- Tan (6/5): Near my office - Location convenience !
- Travelonup (10/5): Nice, affordable hotel in Yagon. - Staff at every level are extremely professional, nice and always willing to help. Amenities not listed include: private ensuite bathroom, and in-room safe and refrigerator. Wi-fi worked excellent at all times and free breakfast was a plus. Hotel could use a little touch-up paint here and there. It was simple to hail a taxi out front to go to pagodas, 2,000 kyat OR $1.36 USD, or downtown 3,000 to 4,000 kyat. I would stay here again in a minute.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - スタッフが優しい。対応が良かった。
ただ、食事が、トースト、チャーハンしかないのが残念。メニューには焼きそばも載っているのに。3日間1度も出なかった。また、お湯が出なかった。
- Tan (4/5): Very poor - The PVH hotel since two years ago change the new management n new generation not families, kindliness and Human touch and the staffs always change ! Especially we are old n regulator customers they treat us as walk in customers no feeling too commercial and the prices increase at this economic so bad as and no connect with the wedside for Hotel.com n other they given the member rewards for fee night stay !
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quite and Nice location. Easy to access downtown area. The Shwedagon Pagoda is not very far, just walking distance. Recommended!
- Kimleng (10/5): Good hotel in Yangon - It’s clean room and toilet. Price not expensive with delicious breakfast. Staffs are all friendly and kind. If I go Yangon again, I will stay this hotel again.
- AlengL (10/5): Nice hotel in Yangon - We just finish our traveling today. I would like to recommend this hotel for people who are going to visit Yangon. This hotel is clean. Staffs are all friendly and helpful. Breakfast are delicious. The price also not expensive. In addition, location is the best. It’s nearby Shwedagon Pagoda, just walk.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - พนักงานสุภาพ ห้องพักสะอาด บริการประทับใจ ที่พักเดินทางสะดวก
- Jose (8/5): Bueno - Buen hotel
- AlyshaR87 (8/5): Nice place. Great service. - The room was clean and well-stocked. The TV didn't have any working channels, but not a huge deal. The service was amazing. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food was tasty. The place needs some updating but I would definitely stay again.
- Strawberry2009 (8/5): A Simple Hotel with Great Staffs - We arrived early morning in this hotel after our eleven hours bus ride. Although we had bought the room from the hotel agent with early check-in price, it was still too early to check in. After eating breakfast and waiting for almost two hours, they let us in. After taking shower, we can go to the pagodas with fresh face. Really appreciate it!
The room is clean and simple. According to them, they had renovated their hotel recently. We can have a good rest that night. They can arrange a car to take you to the airport as well.
The breakfast is simple. We can choose between bread and fried rice. They serve us tea or coffee.
The staffs are great. They will help you if they can.
- Tan (8/5): Feeling homely ! - I already stay PVH hotel more than 3yeard because is very convenient for me and the staffs are friendly n prompt services!
- ArtMonsan (8/5): Pleasure view but no view. Anyway, good sleeping here. - We check in just before midnight because we waste 1H to waiting airport bus that already out of service since 9pm. (What's stupid?, Ha...) However, the manager and a bellboy still wait for us with smile. Our room have a little window and not face to Shwedagon pagoda, so no view to see. Anyway, room is clean and comfortably sleeping. A set of breakfast is OK, not a buffet as said by others.
- ChrisB189 (8/5): Very helpful friendly staff - Excellent value for Yangon with small but pleasant rooms , with the usual facilities and air conditioning. The restaurant served me a good meal when I arrived tired at 9.30 at night.the TV has premiership English football which provides some entertainment.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excellent staff - Everyone from the day manager and night manager, staff on the front desk, staff that served our breakfast, the kitchen staff, housekeeping (who cleaned our room daily and who put clean sheets etc on our bed when I was vomiting because of food poisoning in the middle of the night) to the man on the front door who always greeted us with a smile.
The girls on the front desk were so sweet and the manager very helpful. I did enjoy my stay there. The hotel was having renovations but it didn't impact on our stay too much. There was a change of management/owner and the hotel is now called "Pleasure View"
In saying all of this I will add that I was quite terrified each time I had to cross the road in front of hotel. Over time I did learn to not cross alone. I watched the locals cross in small groups and joined them. The hotel is situated in a good position to visit Swengon Pagoda
and close to " French Eclair" restaurant owned by a local man who was very nice and helpfull. The strawberry smoothies are fantastic along with the eclairs and other dishes.
- hellenmaymdy111 (10/5): I will stay soon . - I called to hotel for room inquiries to stay recently and I saw pagoda view room at Facebook . He explain room facilities and strongly point of hotel . I decided to stay there. He is a professional sale man and know how to promote their room . I seem he have kind heart and willing to help to the guest . Pleasant view hotel's Hero Mr Kyaw Zin .I really appreciate for your service .
- Esther (2/5): No water supply for almost 3 days - Worse experience staying in a hotel.... with no water for 3 days (Thankfully was only in the day time) and water has got a sewage smell!
Room was decent in size but very old and filled with mosquitoes...
Only compensation was the helpful and friendly staff... apart from that nothing else is worth mentioning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Be much better once renovation finishes - Shouldn't be allowing guests to stay while renovating.
Noisey during day (obviously).
Very basic, step above backpackers.
Nice staff though.
- Zwillingsseele (8/5): Cute hotel - It does not look that good from the outside, but it is a cute family hotel and you can discover its charm on the 2nd view. The staff is absolutely sweet and they cooked a wonderful dinner for me. The location is really good. The east entrance of the Swedagon Pagoda is just 15 minutes away. There is free wifi and an AC in the room.
- rebecca (6/5): Mixed reviews - Stayed here twice now. Staff are great. The room left alot to be desired the seconomy time around. Ants everywhere, even on the bed. Ceiling in bathroom leaking. Something weird left in fridge. Clearly some rooms are ok but some are not.
- William D (10/5): Value... - Friendly Staff. Helpful beyond belief. The free breakfast had very limited choices (I'm not really a breakfast person, so not a problem ). Good value for the money.
- ARATT_SG (6/5): Very friendly service but overpriced for that kind of room - There is no doubt that the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is not super clean (lobby is smelly), the bathrooms are very basic. It's probably good for just one night of transit. Nothing much in the neighborhood too.
- Bill (8/5): Clean Hotel with Helpful & Friendly Staff - Frankly, the hotel is a little old, but not run down. However, the staff are very helpful & friendly.
Breakfast portion is good & generous.
Location is near to the ShweDagon Pagoda. Walking time is about 20mins.
Location wise, it's between the old town -- China town & the new town -- Inya Lake area.
Grab taxi service is very2 convenient & I strongly suggest visitors use the app rather than flagging down a taxi along the roadside.
Given the price of the hotel, it's still worth the stay.
- Jaroslaw (10/5): Perfect place to stay while in Yangon. - I stayed in Pleasand View Hotel for three nights and would highly recommend this place for others. The service was brilliant, especially from the night manager, who have helped us to organise and book a bus to Bagan, and the following morning was kind enough to serve us the breakfast at a very early time of 5.30am, just before ordering a taxi from Grab, that was a couple of thousand Kyats less that if we were to get a taxi individually from the street. The hotel is ideally located for visiting Shwedagon Pagoda that is easily accessible by walking, but you will need to get a local bus No 61 right to the downtown of Yangon. Also you could get a local bus No 36 right from the main bus station to get to the hotel, but remember that in a rush hour it will take you around an hour to get to and from the bus station to the centre of Yangon regardless of whether you choose to travel by taxi or a local bus.
- wanderwithed (10/5): Excellent service - Stayed in this hotel last night and I really experienced excellent service. The reception ladies were really helpful to find bus tickets and they are very friendly.
The hotel is located close to Shwedagon pagoda, and the room was cleaned. The wi fi voucher did not work, never mind I already purchased mobile sim card.
- janelH904OE (10/5): December 2017 - I have stayed at this hotel on two separate tips. A Consistently reliable Hotel on all accounts and a convenient location. I notice that professionals use this hotel. I value the friendly staff. . Book online through booking.com
- Andy (10/5): Good location - Cheap and good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location excellent whereby you can reach many places easily (central location)
- Zaharan (10/5): Clean budget hotel closer to Shwedagon Pagoda - Clean hotel with good breakfast by local standards. Bathroom needs renovation other than that value for money . Highly recommend budget hotel.
- Lesa (10/5): Pleasant View Hotel - I very much enjoyed my stay at 'Pleasant View Hotel'. The location was excellent and I had a view of the beautiful pagoda from my window. The staff were absolutely amazing, so helpful and polite. Breakfast was a real treat. I definitely would go back and stay at the Pleasant View Hotel on my next trip to Yangon...
- 281emmav (8/5): Good simple hotel with great employes - I went there one week it was my first days in Myanmar and the employes was really helpful. The breakfast was good , you can choose between salty or sweety.
The bedroom and bathroom was everyday very clean. The bed is huge and very good to sleep.
The WIFI is working very well a really good point for Myanmar place !
- Ayeaye (8/5): - It is near with Shwe Dagon Pagoda . The room is small but clean .
- arzklh (6/5): good location near Shwedagon Pagoda - good hotel, simple and clean, helpful and friendly staff.
on a busy thoroughfare so it can be noisy and you need earplugs specially if you open the window.
breakfast is basic, but it's a good value in Yangon.
they charge 3% charge if you pay with credit card and you get better price if you book in advance on tripadvisor or an other website.
- 72balanm (8/5): Good people, good value for the money. Walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda - Each of the front office staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged for my air tickets to Bagan at very competitive rates. The day I was leaving, I had to depart the hotel for the airport at 5:30 am. And they woke up and made breakfast for me and got me a cab as I was finishing breakfast!!
The hotel room was satisfactory, but because the hotel is situated right on a busy road, you can hear the traffic noise.
- dmolitious (10/5): Really nice and comfortable stay - I arrived at the hotel directly from the airport, and the front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and I was rewarded with a good night's sleep. In the morning, the staff was also very helpful with recommending activities in the city and keeping my luggage (as well as the luggage of a few friends) while we explored.
Another bonus is that it is very close to the Shwedagon pagoda and some rooms will have a great view of it.
- brian (10/5): Great breakfast and service! - We moved from a hotel downtown where the neighborhood was just too gritty so really appreciated this nice little oasis in Yagon. The staff was very helpful and gracious and helped us at every moment. Although with they had warned us that they send out laundry, spent $18 on a small load as they charge per item and we did a bunch of socks and underwear. Internet did not work very well but I think that's Myanmar more than this hotel. Breakfast is really well done!!!
- jonjudis (10/5): Very Simple and Clean Hotel - This hotel is considered a budget hotel and met all of our needs very well. The Hotel is very clean, a breakfast is provided and the staff are helpful and friendly. The location is about 20 minutes from the airport and about 10 minutes from the Shwedagon Pagoda. Inya Lake is also nearby as well as a lake that has a floating restaurant. Taxi service is very easy to use to and from the airport.
- Jose (8/5): Good Location, inexpensive - It is very well located, close to the Swedagon Pagoda, you can walk around and see the core of the city, it is not far away. we did not spend much time here but staff was very helpful and friendly.
- alan (6/5): Burma adventure - 3rd hotel in Yangon. 10 min to Shwedagon pagado plus other places to see within easy walking if you like the" Midday Sun".otherwise taxi or TucTuc. Good base for north yangon. Chinatown and Sule pagoda need taxi. We walked in two hours and saw Bagan temples- very hot.
- shahzain11 (4/5): For Dollar wasters - We booked this hotel hoping it would be as nice as other $40 hotel rooms in the city. Although all hotels in Yangon are over-priced as compared to same services hotels in other countries around Myanmar, yet this hotel will charge you at least $10 extra per room, huge! Room worth is not more than a $30 room.
Cleaning is normal and breakfast too. Inside room you'll find mesh of wires and ducts which obviously looks bad. Towels and walls of room (the one we were given) have marks.
The only good thing is its location. You choose wisely before you select this one.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The cable was not working, when I complainted they told me "this is my country", when I have seen the tv working in the reception. Then the shower mas broken.
- 319cindym (10/5): A Jewel and an Oasis in the hustle and bustle of Yangon. - "Never judge a book by its cover." This saying applies here. Everything about this hotel is great. It may not be the most modern, but any missing esthetics is made up by the friendliness and graciousness of the staff. Our rooms were clean and comfortable. We had plenty of hot water for showers. The air conditioning quietly kept us cool. The food here is excellent. For breakfast try the omelette with grilled tomatoes on the side. My favorite menu item though was the sweet and sour chicken. I'm just sorry I didn't try it sooner. The Pagoda is visible from the hotel and just a short taxi ride away. This is definitely a place I would stay again.
- Randall (10/5): Hotel close to Shwe Dagon Pagoda - The staff really make this a pleasant stay. If you actually want a view of the pagoda you probably need a better quality room than what I got. However, the view rooms probably have noice from the street that is always busy. You may already know that when in Myanmar it is apparently required to honk your horn every several seconds to announce your presence.
Again, the staff is very helpful.
- KYAW (8/5): - Staff are friendly and Approachable. Food quality for Breakfast is slightly above average. Overall, the hotel is value for money and recommended.
- markbonefeld (8/5): Nice hotel with very friendly staff - Me and my girlfriend stayed at the hotel for two nights and were very happy with our stay. It is a very good value for the money hotel close to the beautiful Schwedogen Paya. Do not expect it to be fancy but for a three star hotel it has all it needs: good solid breakfast and nice clean rooms. The best thing about the hotel is the staff. They are very helpful, warm and always there if you have questions or need guidance regarding transportation, trips etc.. I would love to stay here again if I ever get the chance to come back.
- paul (8/5): Room with a view - The rooms are spacious although the bathroom could do with a little renovation as it was very basic. The view of the shwedagon pagoda is incredible.
- Charles (6/5): Only top class rooms nice; eschew mothballs - The people who work here are very, very nice. The food in the restaurant is good too, although the free breakfast was so-so. When we checked in, we were stunned at how small our room was, much smaller than the photos convey. So we upgraded on the spot to the top class of room, which was larger and had a fabulous view. It would seem only this one class of rooms has any kind of view at all. Being vulnerable as we were, we had to pay a relatively high price to upgrade so be sure to reserve and pay for the nicer room in advance unless you don't mind sleeping in a shoe box. Finally, and importantly, this place puts mothballs in the closet so the room reeked when we got there. Even though I got them out of there right away, we were still headachy and sneezing for the first day. I suggest you tell them to prepare your room for your arrival by removing the mothballs and airing it out. Again, the view from the top class of room is just fabulous and the staff at the hotel are great!
- Ailyn (8/5): - Great place to stay, good location and great foods.
- Davide (10/5): Wonderful services for cheap rate - In Yangon I think I saw impossible to find a hotel like that for this rate: clean, kind, good position, great and cheap food.
- Meeshka-yoga (10/5): A nice stay... - Greeted with a smile and kindness - room was good and very clean - view was nice but didn't see Pagoda which I'm guessing is the deluxe rate - breakfast tasty - safe location - service overall for hotel is exceptional!
- S (10/5): Excellent staff, excellent breakfast. - Amazing staff - very friendly, attentive and fair. We booked the first night online. The hotel automatically validated this rate for additional nights we stayed. Very simple. They provide you with free umbrella if it rains or is too hot.
They have a choice of breakfast. Western bread, omlette, veg etc or Burmese noodles , fried rice etc, made for you. You get fruits, juice and tea/coffee. It isn't a buffet so you don't need to rush downstairs before everything is gone.. highly recommend this hotel.
Downside : pillows are way too hard.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Exceptional staff - This hotel was clean and had everything you needed including safe box. The staff were always kind and helpful and smiling. I would definitely recommend.
I will point out the view in the photo is not from all the rooms - I didn't have a view of the Pagoda but my view was ok anyway.
- Patrick (8/5): - Good shopping for carved Buddha's and close to the temple
- Eugene (10/5): Good hotel for price - It has an excellent restaurant next door.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value for the money close to the temple - Excellent service, helpful professional staff, close proximity to sites
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close walk to temple - Very good value for the money, helpful staff, clean rooms
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I had a very pleasant stay there. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and they even let me check in early as I arrived in the early morning from a night bus from Bagan. The location was quite good and walking distance to many of the main sites of the city.
- Chen (10/5): Recommended hotel in Yangon - Big room and clean, toilet is also clean and big, I recommend this good hotel in Yangoon.
- John (8/5): Friendly staff and great location near Shwedagon - Great location near the Shwedagon Pagoda. Nice big room for our group of three.
Good view of the pagoda, lit up at night, from our fourth-floor room but the dirt on the outside of the window made it difficult to get good pictures.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Room is a bit on the smaller side, but clean and comfortable, breakfast buffet is decent, owner and staff are always there to help, walking distance to Shwedegon, short cab ride (1500-2000 MKK) to downtown, great if you want to avoid all that hustle and bustle there.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Holiday in Yangon - The bathroom floor gets flooded easily although the water clears eventually. The hot shower is a bit inconsistent.
There isn't much of a view from the hotel as we had expected "pleasant view". Other than this, it's a good location for venturing around various attractions within 15-30 minutes walk.
The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
It's over-priced as compared to many other similar sized hotels with similar facilities in SE Asia or in other parts of Myanmar.
- Marc (8/5): Good Place w/ Great Staff; Okay Value by Yangon St - This is a good place. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The included breakfast was good. The staff were, one and all, exceedingly pleasant and helpful. Anywhere else in SE Asia, I'd say it was over-priced, but by Yangon standards it wasn't way out of line.
- leon (10/5): Very good stay. - Very good stay. But, rooms do not face the temples as the website photograph shows. Breakfast is good; location near important religious locations. Taxi needed to visit downtown. All staff very friendly and most helpful. Wifi very good. You will be allowed to use the computer in their office.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small hotel with friendly and very helpful staff. We had a clean room near the back of the hotel where it was quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda - A small hotel which is walking distance to the Shwedagon Pagoda. We stayed in a grand deluxe room on the top floor near the back of the building with a lovely view of the Shwedagon Pagoda (especially at night time). The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive to all our needs. We enjoyed our stay
- Gayle (10/5): Fantastic Service, great location - highly reccomm - The Pleasant View staff were the best thing about our stay. They did everything they could to make us welcome and accomodate us. The view of Shewedagon from the top floor is spectacular. I would highly recommend this hotel because of its location but primarily because of the awesome friendly service
- Verified traveler (8/5): Can't go wrong with this hotel - Very attentive service. Rooms conditions better than expected (for Myanmar standards). On my last day I had to check out at 5am, they prepared for a me a takeaway breakfast as the restaurant doesn't open till 6am. Very satisfied with my stay.
- KYAW SWE (8/5): - Hotel staff were very friendly and approachable. Hotel is located not very far away from airport, convenient stores and shopping centers.
For cleanness, I'll rate it 8/10 for 3star hotel group. Overall , Its worth for staying and friendly environment.
