- Alan (4/5): Below parr this time - The location for the Tissington Trail are perfect The main building was closed for refurbishments so no breakfast option, no evening bar opinion. Poor water pressure in the shower, heating on a timer for 2.30 so when we came back for a shower at 1.30 the room was freezing and we couldn't warm it up?

- Carolyn (9/5): A very pleasant stay & right on the Tissington Trail - The staff were very friendly. Had a nice quiet room to the rear overlooking the gardens. Great location for cycling the Tissington Trail. Breakfast was lovely & plentiful. We didn’t dislike anything as we’ve stayed before. We did find a restaurant to eat in the evening, just a shame this hotel didn’t offer food at night save having to drive out.

There was nothing i didn't like,I just wished I could have stayed longer

The beds were unstable and creaked as soon as you moved. Bathroom was tiny and the toilet so closed to the sink that one could barely manage to sit. The room was very dark. For the price of the room I was expecting much more!

The breakfast was delicious and the walk just outside the house was super convenient. Truly recommend this place! Ps. Let them know when you are travelling with your dog!

The hotel was in a convenient location and made it easy to get to nearby towns and there were plenty of pubs/restaurants nearby. It was also quiet and it was on the Tissington trail which was nice. The room was very comfortable with fast WiFi and a smart TV.

- Chloe (10/5): Perfect escape from the rat race - Easy to find, easy to access, conveniently located for Ashbourne. I particularly loved the shower.
- Gary (4/5): - It's on a decent spot handy for Ashbourne and the Peak district/ staff's moorlands. Their furnishings are tired. And the staff seemed indifferent at best. There's a small 'club bar'. The guy in charge was watching the TV as we walked in ( fair comment). However he didn't turn it off after we'd been served. Seemed weird. Its a decent location but, be aware it's very basic and rather tired looking . Hotel. .
- Isiasha (1/5): Extremely disappointed - The hotel looks , the cleanliness and the colour scheme The discomfort during this stay was very high. As an individual whom works alongside adult social services I'm shocked at how bad of an experience this was. Especially arriving at hotel to UK and GB flags as a mixed race dark skinned individual. Straight away I felt uneasy due to such. I came here to get away from current world stressors but that really made me feel uncomfortable. We then felt pressured about ordering breakfast I did say we are ok for breakfast as we had porridge pots packed but was told we needed to tell them if we wanted a breakfast a few times which we didn't want a breakfast. We was coming for a short break booked from a care plan. We was shown too our room and it was cold when we entered and ok the rest of the time but not particularly warm. The staff shown us the bathroom and said you've booked disabled and looked as us which I felt a discomfort here so I just carried on with things as I don't feel I need to talk about my hidden disabilities to anyone. As an individual with fluctuating illnesses where I cannot stabilise my body temperature it's high priority for me as a disabled individual to be kept warm in a space I'm spending time in. My care team at home are aware of such with evidence from the specialist doctors and neurologist.I also have mobility challenges that sometimes I feel ok to walk and other times I need my scooter so I want to be able to be at ease on a break. I felt some discomfort like I was being watched around the space. We was Locked out the room late at night as it had a Yale lock and one of those automatic closing doors, I rang constantly on my other phone from the car as an adult and child was locked out the room and the dog locked in the room. It seems you could only access the porter by knocking on his door which you couldn't know which one from outside of the hotel as the doors was locked. I was beeping my horn shouting for help and calling and nothing.

- Jez Devlin (9/5): Que maravilla hotel & environs, tis a super fine dwell fot ales int Dales! ;-) - Very friendly welcome from all the staff. Tissington Trail is right behind the hotel, only a two mile hike to the hamlet of halls & 'High' Sheriff of Derbyshire, lots of paths downhill into Dovedale. They have a belle jardin derriere to sink ales post perspirations, good bar & games room by reception. My amigo's snore-fest ;-o Games room is big enough for a ping pong table, or upgrade the current snooker table which drunkards couldnae crack!

- Maria (10/5): Hidden Gem - Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. We were in one of the apartments (room 3) which was very clean throughout. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was spacious. The staff could not have been more helpful, they were friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. We felt very welcome. The breakfast was excellent, lots of variety and all fresh, our little dog was also well looked after with a sausage for breakfast each morning. There is also a lovely walk with amazing views just at the back of the property. The bar was open on both nights, it has a games room and a nice atmosphere. We highly recommend a stay here.

Value for money - The property was very clean immaculately clean and it was very cosy comfy we had everything we needed . Mirror dressing table large wardrobe and chest of drawers . Hairdryer and Towels . The beds are made up and comfy . They made our dogs very welcome and even gave them a breakfast . The breakfast was amazing fruit croissants yogurts and hans toast cereals water and has much tea and coffee as you wanted . We gave paid a lot more for less choice elsewhere . My digs had breakky both days which they both thought was just Pawfect . The Tissington Trail is just behind the hotel to walk the dogs . There is also a lovely garden at the back if you can’t walk far and use the trail and ample room for the dogs to run around. We parked our car outside our room . There is ample parking . Recommendation’s a small fridge to keep things in . We had taken some cheeses and some wine to have later when back at the room . Also an extra chair to sit on would have been perfect to eat our cheeses and drink our wine . The staff could not do enough to make us welcome and nothing was too much trouble . I’m sure if we had asked for a chair they would have provided one . They were all Very friendly and they were all very welcoming . It was so quiet and relaxing we throughly enjoyed our stay . Not having a fridge and an extra chair to sit whilst watching TV . One of us sat on the bed but that would be difficult for some . The shower was very low pressure and needs to be looked at this is something that I forgot to mention before leaving .

- Rad (8/5): I would consider this place again in the future - Pre installed Netflix in the room and strong WiFi was enough to get me comfortable in the evening. Room was clean and quiet and bed very soft which helped me to sleep all night without waking up. Not having fringe and hair dryer in the room was a bit inconvenient but we have survived!
- roger (5/5): Overall disappointing, decor and facilities were no where near good enough. - Breakfast was good for the extra £10 per person you had to pay but they catered for Vegan and Vegetarian guests with a seperate area containing things like Oat milk, Soya Milk, toaster for gluten free toast making plus plenty of fruit options. Dated decor, over priced for the condition and quality of the accommodation, met by member of staff in very scruffy shorts and vest top, low budget room furniture with hard uncomfortable bed that had no mattress topper, cupboards were chipped and door loose, bathroom was tiny.

Friendly and helpful staff, brilliant location for walking with easy access to Tissington Trail and a very special cooked breakfast with lots of extras available. Didn't discover skylight hook until our departure.

They even had a bar with some good draft options. Would definitely stay again next time we go Alton Towers or stepping stones. Just need to stock up on ice in the bar

Very pleasant downstairs seating area. We stayed for two nights and the room was not serviced, ie. mugs and glasses were not refreshed, tea coffee milk sachets etc not topped up and bins not emptied. There was no bin in the bathroom. Breakfast was passible. We had been led to believe that the bar was open in the evening but on Friday we arrived back at 8.30pm and it was closed. It was open on Saturday evening but the choice of drinks was extremely limited.

The apartment has a living area, kitchen area, bathroom, and bedroom. Some furniture fixtures and fittings people will think a little dated, but I found them to be very comfy, especially the reclining chair and the bed. The full English breakfast was good, the selection for the continental was very good and both tastes great. Staff were polite and friendly and I thought it was good value for money. I would definitely come back and stay here The only criticism I have is i was expecting to pay the balance on arrival, but I found it had been taken a couple of days before I arrived. As I've mentioned, some will find the furniture, fixtures, and fittings a little dated. Note, there is no breakfast available on Sunday morning, not sure if that was due to the time of year I stayed (End of June) Note 2, some will find the road a little noisy, personally it didn't bother me

- Claire (10/5): Lovely stay - Great location, lovely property, very clean room, fab breakfast, nice big TV with lots of viewing options. Also had a lovely view from our room. It would be nice to have information in the room about the property & local area I.e breakfast times. It would also be nice to have a breakfast menu.

- Stuart (8/5): A spacious hotel with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. - We only had one night at the hotel and left the next morning. It was spacious inside, very clean with friendly staff. The full English breakfast was nice and adequate complemented with plenty of coffee. Only stopping for one night it is difficult to answer. We both really enjoyed our stay and would go again if we go to that area again.

Very good breakfast with gluten free and vegan options which was much appreciated. The room hadn’t been hoovered in a while. Lots of hair and dirt on the carpet on the floor as well as the bathroom.

- Shanshan (9/5): Great place to stay - The property is in a very good location. Just by a main road so easy to find but very quiet. The room is nice and clean. The breakfast continental part has lots of choices. The full English is good except the sausages. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had problems with the hot water in the bathroom. The staff did their best to try to solve it and kindly offered us discount. The hot water problems.
