Floor hadn’t been clean in a while, so we had to wear slippers. The pool outside is creepy at night and not well lit, so don’t go alone. Otherwise, the stay was ok.

The hot pool outside in the trees was a little creepy when looking for it in the dark, but it was very clean and we had it all to ourselves this time of year. It was a nice find off the beaten path!

- David M (10/5): - I've stayed here a few times and they have the absolute friendliest people working the front desk, the rooms have always been very clean and for an older facility it is very well maintained. The small park behind it along the river is a great place to relax, as is the pool. The pool is closer to the river than the motel, but I absolutely LOVE where it is. It also boarders the park, is shaded by some nice trees and makes for a lovely evening soak!
- Tammy (8/5): Meets Expectations - Place met expectations for a 2-star. Was clean (caulk in tub looked new), with worn furniture. Sheets were slightly scratchy but bed was perfect firmness. AC kept us cool and provided consistent white noise at a moderate level. Water pressure good, to the point of almost being aggressive. Not a lot of surfaces to place items on. For those with mobility issues, a couple steps and gravel in lot we used. Garden tub is deep and wide, but has grab bar to get in. The "resort" is spread out and close to other properties without consistent style/color or much signage, so it can be a bit confusing to navigate. Went to peek at hot pool on property after returning from public pools, but it was too dark for us to be sure we were going to the correct area or not. Overall served its purpose and checked the boxes most critical for us for a one night stay (clean, safe, quiet).
- Destiny (6/5): - The person who contacted me regarding my reservation was great. She had keys ready for me for a late check in. It was a great price and it worked. In my opinion, it could be improved by ensuring that the Internet is set up to the television as I was not allowed to even watch basic television because there was no Internet. Internet was advertised. The blankets were incredibly thin and they weren’t on the bed. There were spiders we had to kill three. The floors are very soft and water leaked out of the standing shower badly. The bunkbed squeaked so badly every time you move that it woke everybody up. And the only chair to sit on was the two dining room chairs there was no chair or couch.

- Meghan (10/5): - This hotel has a motel feel with big rooms and a fabulous hot spring fed pool. Our family of 5 loved it. We wish we could have stayed a second night. The town is small and touristy with great food and coffee options. Be aware if you go during the week some quick food options are closed earlier. If you come through the area, this hotel is a great place to stay.

- Sammi (8/5): Cozy and Convenient! - Lava Hot Springs is a neat town, and the stay at the Lava Hotel has been pretty good! It’s located on the Main Street next to shops and restaurants that are a short walk from the room. Parking spaces were limited though. The room was very clean and cozy for our family.

- Lorraine (6/5): - We had a good overnight stay. The hotel was conveniently located close to nearby attractions, and the beds were very comfortable. However, one concern was the bathroom window. Although it had frosted glass, it still showed a shadow if you stood too close especially when getting out of the shower. Since there's a hotel directly across the way, it felt like privacy could be compromised.

- Dan (8/5): - This hotel has multiple type of room type. Mine was built with cinder block, only one story. Apparently this is a very outdated housing type. However, the hotel turns it around with remodeled interior and keeps room very clean. However, we did not use the in house hotspring as it has lots fallen leaves at the bottom of pool, and no one else as using it. We use the Lava Hot Spring nearby, which is prestine and crystal clear.

- WhirldWind (8/5): Best Value in Lava Hot Springs - We’ve stayed at the Lava Hotel (Courtyard View) twice, and will do so again when we get a good rate. They are a very short drive from the main office and convenient to the hot spring pool. The rooms at this location are pretty basic/ no frills. Our room was very clean, although the building and rooms could use some painting/ maintenance. The wall-unit AC drowned out most exterior sounds. Our room had plenty of electrical outlets. No closet, but there were wall hooks that worked for us. Check-in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. Our room had a small fridge and microwave, but no coffee maker. (We knew to bring our own for the second trip.) Parking is tight and limited for these rooms. Our bed was firm, but comfy and clean. The location is perfect for walking the town. (There is even a back path to a great Bar & Grill, where you can get good food, seated right on the River.) Our bathroom was large, with a wall-mounted hair drier and a garden tub/shower with good pressure and hot water. The towels and washcloths were good sized and soft/absorbent. The WiFi signal is not very good for these rooms, but is probably much stronger if you move toward the office. Our courtyard had an outdoor table and three metal chairs. There is a courtyard for each of these rooms, but they are along the common walkway to the rooms. If you enjoy being friendly to others who pass by, this can be a bonus. The hot spring pool, next to the river, is cleaned twice a week. We prefer this pool (open 5am -mid nite) over the tourist springs nearby, as you can bring your own beverages and come and go as you like.
