Guest Reviews
- Mary (10/5): Comfort and affordablity. - The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and well stocked, the shower was hot. The parking lot was confusing, and the road in was in disrepair
- Heather (4/5): -
- Beth (8/5): - Good value for the price. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet.
- Sherry (6/5): Guest - The quitness No snacks
- John (8/5): Very reasonable price for a short term stay on a long trip. Would definitely stay here again. - Check-in was quick and easy; staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Slept well in a comfortable bed and quiet environment. Excellent value! Microwave did not work
- Berne (6/5): - Convenient, but the place noisy at night time.
- Efrain (10/5): - very good
- albert (2/5): - I would never stay here again. Our non smoking room reeked of smoke, there were holes in the walls and the parking lot was a disaster. The room next to ours was wide open and was apparently set up to be a maintenance shop. The door was left open. We could hear pounding on the walls all night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Simple, clean and easy access
- Walter (6/5): - Customer service experience was great
- Marqwis (2/5): - Full of roaches, tv doesn't work, smell like cigarettes and was extremely nasty
- Garland (8/5): - D
- Scott (6/5): - xxx
- Garry (6/5): - Easy to get to
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No Coffee machine or other basic conveniences. Had to change rooms as doorlock was not functioning. Otherwise clean and comfortable bed to sleep overnight
- Rose C (2/5): - There was cockroach and it smelled really bad in the room like cigarettes
- Jorge (10/5): Very nice room - Very nice room the room was clean the bedding was clean I had a nice large size mini fridge with a lot of room with a separate freezer area and it had a microwave and parking right outside the room
- Priscilla (8/5): Cheap, clean, dogs allowed. Good size room . - I was pleasantly surprised. The room was sparkling clean, smelled like lemon as opposed to cig smoke or off-putting chemical cleaners. The linens were fresh, bed seemed new. My room 104 was near the office. Large nondescript 2 story motel with doors to the outside. Surrounded by a sea of concrete at an interchange area that has seen better days. Grass was mowed. Plenty of places to walk dogs. Front desk was pleasant. Sound proofing was adequate, never heard neighbors. Next to large conv store for gas, coffee in am. Near 95 highway but not so close I could hear traffic. Looked like the long term renters down on their luck were shuffled off to the far reaches of the property. No issues. Stayed in far worse too and fro on 95 with dogs.
- DUSTIN (6/5): - Solid spot. Nothing fancy just an affordable place to stop. Dated but clean
- Demetrius (10/5): - Excellent for those that travel on a budget
- Ovidiu (2/5): - Need a lot of updates
- Mike (10/5): - There great
- Jessica (8/5): - Older property but affordable, clean, quiet and what I need right now!
- Kai (4/5): - Perfect for an easy access rest stop along I-95 that offers early 2 p.m. check-in. Clean unit. Comfortable bed. A few nearby places to eat. Although this is clearly overpriced for such an old low-end no frill roadside motel. I see the effort, but it is very underwhelming. I will not recommend this place to anyone, at this price level.
- Carlyle (8/5): - The property exterior looks really bad and run down, but the room was clean and comfortable. And it was quiet. So it was a nice stay.
- Arthur (2/5): - It was nasty and dirty
- Wanda (2/5): - The room had no hand towels, the air conditioner didn’t work properly, ants in the room, it smelled bad. I left after the first night. I will never stay at a red carpet ever again.
- Pavel (4/5): - There was a small hole in the not transparent window to speak with a property manager. When he had my driver license, I could somehow see him through the whole, but when he took my credit card, he went somewhere else, and I was worried about copying a card because a day before I had to cancel a credit card I used to book this place for a fraudulent transaction appearing right after I booked two places on expidia. The room was run down. The property too. I went to look for another place.
- Beverly (10/5): - My room was very clean and accommodating. I stayed 4 days and it was so quite.
- John (4/5): - Run-down to the point where the mini fridge has to be unplugged to sleep
- Robert (10/5): Good stay - Great for the price
- Anne (6/5): - On line when I booked it showed breakfast provided; and it is not and there is not even a coffee pot in the room. The room was very clean, however it was difficult to heat and the tile floors were very cold.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good for the price. The place is just run down a bit
- Ashley (4/5): - Bathroom wasn’t clean and there wasn’t many towels. Looked nothing like the photos and there was a death next door to our room and woke everyone up at 2am.
- sahin (2/5): - no staff at the front desk when we arrived. gave us a room smelling of drugs and tobacco. Later 1 am at night, people started to make noise, and they were using drugs just in front of our room door! Then the police came. knocked on our door and asked if we called the police. TERRIBLE experience!
- Marie (2/5): - There was not much to like. Roaches in the room, shower didn't work, loud music nearby, very thin towels.
- Iryna (10/5): - Nice place for take a break from the trip.
- Maged (4/5): - The room is badly smelly
There was no breakfast or even coffee though it was mentioned in the amenities
- Verified traveler (2/5): Big no - Terriblement malpropre, ça pu et c'est un endroit à éviter surtout avec des enfants
- Genevieve (2/5): - The beds had stains on it, the rooms smelt horrible and the people hanging around the property made me feel uncomfortable.
- Gary (8/5): Red carpet ride - Room was what you would expect from a budget hotel. It was fairly clean
Definitely not the Ritz though.
- Darlene (4/5): - Room was nasty, bugs had to be killed inside room, bad odor, noisy area, homeless people hanging around parking lot, and the picture on the internet looked welcoming but was far from it. Total dump.
- Maxwell (8/5): - You get what you pay for. It wasn't horrendous or anything. Simple and clean for the most part. Obviously outdated, but not bad for the price.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Bugs, bathroom and shower were poor. Bed was nice.
- Julian (8/5): Worn out but satisfactoctory - Very tired and ready to sleep when I arrived, so any place to lay my head would have been acceptable. It was OK but very worn out and dated. As best as I could see the room was clean so that's really what's important to me and parking was great right outside the door. They required onsite payment after already paying through Hotels.com which was a first for me. Fine as long as I'm not double charged. Overall satisfactory for the reason I booked it, a quick nap. Did appreciate being able to book after 2.am.
- Cameron (4/5): - Another run down hotel. Place smelled. Found personal items on bed.
- Christopher (6/5): - Wasn’t expecting anything special at the price point, but the place was areal dump.
- Andrei (2/5): - nothing
- Troy (2/5): Stay Away - AWFUL! Dirty, bugs in the room, loud, shower didn't get hot.
Nothing good about this stay.
- Charles Richard (4/5): Only if you have to… - The room was a bed and a place to lay my head. It was not the cleanest, nor the most comfortable. The grounds were extremely run down and the rooms were very dated.
I would not recommend this place to anyone.
- Banh (8/5): - Good.
- James (8/5): Very good. - Considering the price we paid, the service and the room itself was better than some that I paid twice as much for. Even the outside wasn't as bad as some of the reviews stated. Worth the price paid, plus some.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I was a little apprehensive with the area when i pulled up..desk clerk said it was safe and gave me a room right next to office to ease my mind...i was very pleasantly surprised that the room was immaculate and ice machine was right next to my room. Would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The bathroom especially needs serious remodeling
- Verified traveler (2/5): - THE PROPERTY WAS OKAY HOWEVER THERE WERE A BUNCH OF BUGS IN THE ROOM THAT KEPT HOPING ONTO MY FACE AND MY KIDS, WE WERE SO TERRIFIED WE SLEPT WITH BLANKETS OVER OUR FACE, EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IN A NONSMOKING ROOM IT SMELLED LIKE SMOKE... I PROBABLY WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN. HOWEVER IT IS CONVINIENTLY ACROSS A WAFFLE HOUSE WHICH WAS A PLUS FOR ME AND THE KIDS
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Exterior of hotel & parking lot were a little rough, but inside of room was clean, A/C was cold, and shower was hot. The floor was recently replaced with vinyl laminate, which was nicer than carpet. Better than average for $50/night.
- Lauren (6/5): Just a random motel along 95 - This is the shadiest place I have ever stayed at but I survived so there’s that.
The room is in rough condition. No deadbolt on the door either which felt unsafe given the area. Dirty walls and permanent stains all over the place. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot so the basics were fine.
- Lesley (10/5): Great - It was amazing
- Michael (6/5): - The bed sheets were not changed until I left for checkout. I fell like something was bitting me the last nite of staying.
- Verified traveler (6/5): NO BREAKFAST OR COFFEE! Don’t believe advertising - We chose this hotel based on price and the included breakfast that advertised- hoping to make a quick exit in the morning. There was NO breakfast- not even coffee. Don’t advertise anything you cannot deliver!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Drug addicts and drug dealers .. arguements fussing kids outside yelling all night .. room was clean but outdated felt like I was sleeping on a box spring. Go outside for a smoke break and you get offered sex and drugs
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Poor lighting outside of facility. Bugs on the bed. Dated room. Area felt unsafe.
- keiarra (10/5): I loved our stay - My husband and I stayed for our two year marriage annivesary and we enjoyed our stay. The room was cozy and very clean.
- Christy (2/5): - Horrible i booked on ur 6.5 stars roaches stained sheets the smelll is still in my nose we got refunded but had to sleep in a parking lot
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We checked in quite late at night and the staff was very accommodating. No issues traveling by with our dog, just a $25 fee at check in. I also enjoyed that the room had a copy of the Baghavad Gita. The only issue I had was that the tv in our room was not working.
- Verified traveler (2/5): A landfill is cleaner - This was the most nastiest place I have been in. Everything was filthy! The toilet looked as if someone's intestines exploded in the bowl, there were holes in the walls, the carpets were nasty, the furniture looks as if it was picked up from a dumpster, the linen was filthy, the bed springs stabbed me when I sat on them (like literally punctured my skin). Drug transaction took place on property like nobody's business and the manager...Let's just say that Red Carpet Inn should be ashamed of themselves for even allowing this dude for running this dump under their name. I would have taken pictures, but the place was so bad until I slept in my car until the next morning. I actually felt safer there (I had very good reason to feel safer there by S&W) and it was a hell of a lot cleaner. Don't book here please. You come out better and safer sleeping under the bridge next to the guy with scabies.
- Michael (8/5): Hoosier Daddy - Certainly not a Hampton Inn, but not bad for $50/night. Probably would be better if they spread the guests around a bit instead of in clusters. One obnoxious guest (i.e. loud TV all night, loud cell phone discussions, smokers, etc.) can ruin the whole night for everyone. The Hindu bible was an interesting touch.
- tired-Lee (6/5): - Comfortable bed; but non smoking room had cigarette smell and cigarette burns in the coffee table, sink and bathtub.
- Verified traveler (2/5): WORST STAY EVER - I asked for a room that I knew didn’t have any animals In it lately. I got put in a room that smelled like dog... I couldn’t sleep. I called the front desk and he said no dog or any other animal been in the room. Well I didn’t sleep and my allergies was a mess. This was the WORST stay here...It’s could have been solved...I might not stay here anymore.
- robert (8/5): - check-in was easy room was mostly clean & in order but there were a few minor problems 1.the light over the sink did not work & the switch plate for it seemed to have a lot of dried blood smeared all over it. 2. one of the chairs had a large stain on the seat cushion 3. for whatever reason I could not get the tv remote to work on more than one channed I hit every button n it with no luck.
- Camilo (6/5): - It is a motel.
Cheap and okay
- Tarchia (10/5): - The rooms was nice clean and updated. The owners are very nice friendly and helpful. I will be staying here again.
- Britt (10/5): - Very nice customer service and clean room and bathroom
- Joseph (8/5): Good for the price. - Friendly staff. They try to take care of the place.
- RedCarpetInn (2/5): - ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Really bad. They have “pizza” there so I go to buy one for $3 and they handed me a frozen pizza and told me I have to microwave it and the microwave in my room did not even work! Bed was not even cleaned.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was so old. The walls were disgusting. The bathroom was the worst. There was a roach beetle as soon as we walked in. The towels were hard and so small. The bed sheets were so over worn, I put my own blanket over the whole bed just so we could sleep. We stayed bc we were traveling and it was really late. But we will definitely not be returning. Disappointing!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Free wifi and breakfast room was clean. The hotel was easy to find.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good enough - Only complaint was that the water only reached a tepid temperature in the morning. There seems to be a trend not to have a box of facial tissues in hotel rooms, and that's the case here too.
- Jessica (2/5): - Very nice staff. BUT...Hair, hair, hair everywhere(short curlies if you catch my drift). In the shower, on the tub and on the shower walls (along with a previously used bar of soap); hair in the bed, between the sheets (along with the blood stained mattress and the grime), hairs on the toilet seat -yes the seat- with some kind of substance splattered. Crumbs of left over ramen noodles on the sink. Dead bugs on the floor and one in one of the beds. The smell was of freshly smoked cigarettes and must. And oh, the party in the adjacent room that raged passed 4am. One of those regretful situations where you drive for 8 hours and have to stop out of necessity and immediately regret it. The only thing this place was missing was bed bugs.. If we didnt check in after 1AM, EXHAUSTED, at the last place we found above 1 star, we would have left. We got our few hours of restlessness.. oh i mean rest.. and got back on the road bright and early. If you like hovering over a toilet in your own room, gagging to shower, and feeling like you're contracting an STD from what your sleeping ON, this is a great spot for you. But again, night clerk was a sweetheart.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice comfortable room. - The room was very nice. I had the handicap room. I asked the gentleman in the office if the rest of the rooms were as nice as that. He said they were.
- Verified traveler (6/5): As expected. - This was as expected for a budget motel. However, the shower did not work well but we were only there for one night. The TV was stuck on one channel. The breakfast was sparse. I may paid more to stay a Econo Lodge for their breakfast. I wanted to try this motel since I travel through here a lot. It is similar to Rodeway Inn. I may try another area too. The bed was clean which is important. The towels were dingy but clean enough. It could be a hit or miss depending on which room they give you.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good value for what we got. Bed spread and curtains were new.
No hassles to check in with our reservations.
- april (2/5): Save yourself and don’t book this hotel - They tried cause the sink, tub, & floor looked new. The bed was awful to sleep on. When I went to the bathroom their was bugs. When we checked in I had a reservation. They tried to tell me I had to wait in the car cause they didn’t know if they had a room for me. I was like I have a reservation and finally they got me checked in. The staff was nice but I should have just left cause the parking lot was full and their was people everywhere outside their rooms partying. We walked in the room and I told my husband I didn’t want to stay. He said you already paid and it was only for one night. We got no sleep that night. It was loud all night. I didn’t even attempt the breakfast. They had put money into new things but it was on top of remodels that should have been made before putting in new sinks and tubs and floors. I will never stay at a red carpet again and next time I will go with my instinct and leave.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room we booked got flooded before we got there so they put us in other room that smelled really bad when we walked in! The sheets did not look like they were cleaned recently! The staff were nice but that's it
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The service was excellent. The bathroom was old, towels old with stains. The bed was very conforatable but there was a stain on one of the decorative coverlets. The room telephone was not hooked up. The air conditioning/heating unit,TV, microwave and refridgerator were all in great condition.
- Joseph (6/5): - Staff was very nice but the room we had was out dated and not very clean.
- James (10/5): Excellent choice - The staff could not be more accommodating. The beds were the best on the trip. The area looks rough but had no problem. Right off interstate. Would definitely stay there again. Good value for the money.
- Elsa maria (2/5): - Bedbugs!!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There were several roaches in the room. They moved me to another room where I found someone else’s towel there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Easy to find off the interstate.we found a roach or two on the room.Room could stand some updateing and air did not cool that good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was overall I great hotel experience. The staff was super friendly and even accomodated us with things like extra bedding for our extra occupant and put us downstairs so it was easier for our young one to be herself.Upon entering the room we sat on the beds thinking oh no these are hard but it ended up being the best nights sleep we ever had.I have hip pain that causes me to toss and turn all night long and I was still all night. The price is amazing for what you get and I would recommend this hotel to my closest friend. We were in 5 different hotels this vacation as we travelled around but this was my favorite.***** stars in my book!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 1 night stay and did what we needed. Got the 3 bedroom room with two full and one twin beds, but the twin was almost child size. The property should be listed as a short twin for small adults or children. I am only 5'4" so slept in small bed. If a taller adult bed would be too small. Staff were very nice.
- Jessica (2/5): Worst hotel ever!!! - Why anyone ever rated this motel above one star is beyond me! We checked in just after midnight, got everything unloaded from our van for a 3 night stay and then I used the restroom and the toilet wouldn't flush. I had to go back down to the office and they moved us to another room. We had to move everything to the new room and didn't get to bed until about 1. The next morning, we go to take showers and the fan in the bathroom doesn't work. Instead of stocking the room with towels for 4 people, we had 2 bath towels, 2 washcloths and absolutely no hand towels. Not only that, but we had no flat sheet for our bed, only a fitted sheet and the comforter. Or so I thought. Until I was leaving and threw all the covers off the bed to make sure we had everything. Then I found our flat sheet all the way at the foot of the bed, and that leads me to believe the sheets were never changed from the previous guests. I tried not to dwell on that because it makes me want to throw up. Continental breakfast was fruit loops or Cheerios. The air conditioner was terrible and although it was set to 66 and high cool it never actually cooled the room down. Of course it didn't help that there was no exhaust fan for the shower. Overall it was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. It was so bad we didn't even stay the 3rd night. We went home early just so we could get a decent night sleep.
- BigJimmy (6/5): - Smelled musty on opening; I asked for a non-smoking room. I didn't smell any smoke, but it didn't have a No Smoking sign on the doors as other room shad.
The fridge didn't work (yes, it was plugged in), various light switches apparently didn't do anything.
But its (fairly) inexpensive.... ??
- Lawrence (8/5): Had to go to Walmart for an aerosol. - Except for the smell of the room, it was OK.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Roaches in the room and bed.. Parking lot looks like a property closed years ago.. Paint and trim peeling away in bathroom.. previous guests wrappers for soap and shampoo in shower area.. toilet paper had 3 sheets on holder.. Desk attendee wanted to charge me 10$ per person for guests that chose a different hotel.. my roommates .. all driving together. Let the owner know about bugs.. no apologies.. just a shrug. Went to a Red Roof Inn next day in Wilkes-Barre and was completely satisfied with everything.. 100% different experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): 3 beds sold us - Nice place for a budget friendly hotel. The selling point for us was their having rooms with 3 beds which makes traveling with kids easier. No need for a roll away or travel cot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pulling into the parking lot, I was worried we were in for trouble, but this is definitely one of those places not to judge by outside. The worker at front desk was probably the most friendly guy I've ever met working at a hotel. Very sweet older gentleman. The room was very roomy and clean. Nice size fridge/freezer. My main problem was the Wi-Fi would not work well at all, but just staying for the one night I could deal. Also, needed more towels as we were in a deluxe family room with five people and only had 2 towels and one wash cloth when we arrived, but they have no problem giving you more. The tv channel selection was ok, not all that was listed were there. Breakfast is your typical pastries, cereal, fruit, and oatmeal/grits. Needs some improvement, but was very impressed with the friendly staff and spacious room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Excellent bed and room.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
- Gigi (8/5): - Nice room, comfty bed everything appeared okay until the bathroom the door wouldn't stay close and no hot water. But, it's a good place to sleep from a long day of driving.
