- Verena (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful mansion with delicious breakfast - We liked everything. It is a beautiful mansion and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms are huge and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and told us a lot about the house and its interior. We would visit again and highly recommend Ash Hill. We liked everything.
- Jan (9/5): We enkoyed our stay and ised Ash Hill as our base for exploring the western parts of Ireland. - Spacious, quiet and very nice hosts.
- Eve (10/5): Fabulous breakfast - I loved the beautiful room and comfortable bed and the fantastic rashers and sausages at breakfast. My kids absolutely adored the e dogs. I suppose it's a pity there isn't much to do around there so we only stayed one night passing through the B&B itself was great and we would have loved to have stayed longer.
- Colette (10/5): -
- Maryse (9/5): - Very nice quiet historic house. Very much enjoyed our stay, and the hosts were very nice and helpful.

- Metford (10/5): We wish we could have stayed longer, and it will be our first choice of where to stay when next in Ireland . Thankyou , - An old building with loads of history. Massive bedroom with huge four-poster bed,and period furniture with a large bath-shower room attached, all very tastefully decorated retaining original features..
Superb breakfast served in the huge dining room..
Owners were so friendly , and told us a lot about the history of the buildings . Nothing to dislike !
- Martha (10/5): Exceptional - The whole place was absolutely wonderful! A 1700’s manor house with huge bedrooms and soft beds. I was treated to breakfast at the formal dining table with made to order breakfast and honey made on-site. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

- Myree (10/5): 305 years of history in a village of 1000 years of history. - Quiet, no traffic noise, surrounded by farm land and a short walk to the village. Flowers in the garden, birds and bees. Breakfast served at a civilised hour and plenty to choose from. The loveliest host and hostess, happy and helpful. We were in the Blue room that has a kitchenette so we could cook dinner. Nothing to not like about a 305 year old mansion, that has a few creaking floor boards.
- Phil (3/5): Disappointing, expensive, bedroom and bed appeared damp and uncomfortable - Staff were nice and friendly.
House had nice character.
It was fairly quiet until 7am Smell of damp in bedroom and bed felt damp .
No separate toaster for Gluten free dietary requirements.
Breakfast was cold .
Very expensive very poor value
Lacked comfort , experience, attraction ...fireplaces dirty not cleaned out not welcoming did not give a good impression.
No television in room .
Difficult to find not signposted.
- Richard (10/5): What a wonderful introduction to Ireland: its history, its beauty, its warm welcome - we loved our stay here. - Everything: the friendly welcome, the beautiful room, the amazing property and its fascinating history, and the delicious breakfast in elegant surrounds. Nothing, it was perfect
- Kathleen (10/5): A marvelous Georgian Manor House. - We had a very comfortable and relaxing 3 nights stay at Ash Hill. A marvelous 300+ year old Georgian Manor house. The entire guest wing is beautifully furnished with a grand staircase and lovely parlor and dining room. The guest rooms are spacious with high ceilings, tall windows letting in lots of light. We stayed in the Blue Room which included a kitchenette, sitting area in front of a fireplace, small dining table, very comfortable queen size bed and a bathroom with a hot shower and tub. Nicole prepared a delicious breakfast every morning. Ash Hill’s location was perfect for us as we came to walk in the Ballyhoura Mountains and also enjoyed a day trip to Adare. Nothing
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - This place is absolutely delightful. The breakfast was delicious and the service was exceptional.
- Barrett (10/5): A wonderful new memory - So much history in the home- felt like we were transported to another time and place. The owners were just so lovely. Spectacular views, amazing rooms. Perfect!
- Mary (7/5): Historic location and stay. - Breakfast was excellent. My poached eggs were sublime. Condiments and fresh croissants were appreciated.
The weather was unfortunate and my only quibble was the heater in our bedroom did not work.
Superb hosts. Historic location and the house reflects this in abundance. Well worth a visit and a stay. The problem with the heater.
- Deirdre (8/5): Very good -
- Kerry (9/5): Superb -
- Megan (10/5): Peaceful retreat in a beautiful manor - An absolutely stunning location with beautiful views! The house was decorated artfully and the room was a delight. The room was bright and airy, with ample space and a stunning en suite. Breakfast was cooked fresh and to order, and was absolutely delicious! The owners were so accommodating and very welcoming! I wish I had stayed longer!
- Peter (10/5): Excellent hosts, beautiful house, authentic historic experience. - Beautiful Property - exquisitely maintained. The guest rooms were impressive. The Hosts, Simon and Nichole - Delightful. The breakfast - We had several options. What we chose was delicious. Nothing. If you are looking for an off the beaten path, and an authentic, historical experience - this is the place for you.
- Gemma (9/5): Superb -
- Katherine (10/5): You'll feel like royalty at this beautiful historic estate - Our stay at Ash Hill B&B was one of the highlights of our whole trip. It's such a gorgeous house and estate, and Simon was very kind and accommodating, sharing the fascinating history of the property and surrounding area. We couldn't believe the value; given its size and elegance, it could easily have been double the cost.
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - A lovely situated estate where we stayed in a very spacious and fully equipped room/apartment. The owners were welcoming and shared many interesting details about the history of the place. Breakfast (both continental and Irish) was served in a very nice formal dining room (where we also met Bertie, a curious and cute dog). Also our compliments for the tasty homemade honey!
- Joe (10/5): Highlight of our trip to Ireland - Our stay at Ash Hill was the highlight of our trip to Ireland. It is a true destination character property and you will find points of interest all over the house and grounds. The hosts couldn't be more helpful and were happy to share local knowledge, local history, history of the house itself, and made us feel completely at home.
Breakfast was served in the most beautiful dining room, and Nikki's cooked breakfast was among the best I've had.
The town of Kilmallock is in easy walking distance and was well equipped with a small supermarket, welcoming pubs, and an excellent Indian restaurant. We regretted not spending more time and the house and in the town itself (a visit to the priory is a must for any heritage/history lover) as we had busy day excursions planned long in advance.
Thank you to Nikki, Simon, and the rest of the staff. We can't wait to return.
- Costanza (10/5): Your place is a real dream, no words to describe the feeling of live there even just for a night. Thank you so much, see -
- Nicole (9/5): Quiet and relaxing Irish countryside stay! - Ash Hill B&B was a perfect base for us to explore the western part of Ireland. The house and grounds are lovely and so quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and the honey from the property was some of the best I have every had! Nikki and Simon were great hosts and had great recommendations for us to see and do. Restaurants were a little out of the way but not bad. We ended up dining in nearby towns of Bruff and Charleville.
- Geoff (9/5): Superb - This is a very impressive place to stay. We enjoyed the wonderful architecture, especially the high ceilings and airy rooms. Overall, it was very comfortable, and the host was very helpful. The very rough,
long driveway to the courtyard. Just go very slowly.
- Jennie (8/5): Wonderful experience and a good spot to make trips - Every morning it was a surprise ( in the good wat) what kind of ( hot) breakfast we got
- Annita (10/5): Peaceful and relaxed - The setting was beautiful. It was like going back in time in this beautiful old estate. The room was luxurious and I loved the 4 poster bed. Breakfast was lovely. This place is all about the setting. It was an experience.. N/A

- Ciaran (10/5): Exceptional - Large bedroom with a comfortably super king size four poster bed. The breakfast was top class and made to order and the hosts were very friendly and informative about the history of the house. Excellent wifi and a short walk to the small village of Kilmallock. Nothing
- Alison (10/5): Special place - Everything! We were on a mission to look for family contacts in the area. Nicole and Simon were incredibly generous with their time, as has been mentioned before. Between them we've been sent down more rabbit holes to investigate. Breakfasts were yummy, beds were sublimely comfy. The house and grounds amazing. Even the toiletries in the bathroom were special. We could have stayed a year. Thank you to our very gracious hosts. Nothing.
- Valovics (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phoebe (10/5): Exceptional -
- O'neill (3/5): Same as above. Extremely remote. Not close to much - We didn't have breakfast so can't comment A bit of heat and hot water would have been a bonus. We were absolutely freezing all night.
- Bethany (10/5): Amazing stay! - The hotel is absolutely stunning. Being able to stay there was a real experience in and of itself. It was very authentic and felt like time traveling. The location is not super close many attractions/restaurants. If you are planning to explore the countryside it is still a good location.
- Margaret (1/5): Terrible - Misrepresented on booking.com.
House and grounds in disrepair.
Old musty smell throughout, entry dirty with cobwebs, dogs 3 in house and not identified on booking- my daughter has allergies and immediately became affected with facial swelling; exposed wires; toilets not working. Guest areas dusty…
Left and booked other place to stay In disrepair, not safe, in partial building repairs, allergy with pets.
- Peter (10/5): A B&B is an understatement - enjoy. - Fabulous historic country house.
Bedroom was roomy and bright and the bed was comfy.
Great Irish breakfast.

High level of comfort , very pleasant and accommodating hosts .
Elegant bedroom with the largest and best bed we have ever slept in .
Spacious and well fitted bathroom .
A romantic location ( Even at our age ! ) We have absolutely no complaints .
- Carol (10/5): A must must must visit country house! Wonderful! - The hosts were fantastic and spared time from their very busy schedules (they were hosting a community fete on the grounds the following day) to show us around their beautiful, renovating, home, giving us nuggets of history and interesting pieces of information. Nothing
- Liang (10/5): What a place! - The historical mansion is unbelievable. I’ve never stayed in a place so full of history. The ceilings, furnitures, decorations are all amazing. It’s a perfect experience of what Irish country life feels like. Plus the hosts are so friendly and they are eager to tell you about this place’s history. Simply Nothing.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nothing
- James (10/5): Ash Hill is a must stay on your next trip - There was some much history to soak up inside the B&B
lots of books to look at, so much history in one place There is nothing bad at all to say.

We had an amazing stay, with a huge bedroom and a bathroom. Mountain view was a bonus surrounded by a beautiful garden. Host was amazing and went out of their way to look after us. Loved our morning and evening walks throughout the stay admiring nature and the peace and quiet. We will definitely be back! none
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (10/5): Relaxing and unique stay in a beautiful historic home in the Irish countryside with delightful hosts. - Beautifully decorated, spacious bedroom and bath in a lovely, historic, countryside manor house located only 50 minutes drive from Shannon Airport. The prearranged dinner was bountiful and absolutely delicious, and visiting with our delightful hosts and their son made the evening even more special. Breakfast the next morning included honey from their own beehives, a selection of breads including freshly baked croissants, yogurt and fruit, and a full-Irish breakfast if desired. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and highly recommend Ash Hill B&B. Nothing.
