Guest Reviews
- Kim (10/5): - Beautiful cosy cottage
- Carol (9/5): -
- Lidiya (8/5): - We had such a lovely stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Our 5-year old had a blast exploring the garden. The only small drawback was the foldable additional bed, which wasn’t very comfortable as the springs could be felt through the mattress, and the cooking space was a bit compact for preparing meals. Other than that, we truly enjoyed our time and would happily stay again.
- Belinda (7/5): Nice private little cottage with everything we needed for a short stay - Cute little cottage in a good location Road noise and no screens on windows or doors
- Janine (8/5): - The rainforest backyard. The musty smell.
- Trish (8/5): Great stay close to everything could definitely recommend - Lovely little cottage with private access, surrounded by natural park and walking distance from Curtis falls. Friendly owner with tips on the local area. There was no windows to open or screens on doors. We did leave the back door open that looked onto the forest. There is road noise early morning and though out the day.Quite overnight

- Farah (9/5): Cozy, wonderful hideaway from the bussle of the city close to a great coffee place. - Great host, great place. We loved the area it was in, nice and warm for the cool night. great front and back porches. The amenitites inside were all very good and sufficient for us. The internet signal is sometimes not there but that wasn't an issue for us.
- Carl (10/5): - It was clean practical cute little cottage, staff were helpful and attentive if needed. Perfect little get away. Everything only a short drive away, quiet location surrounded by nature.
- Diane (10/5): Fantastic place to unwind and enjoy nature - Lovely place stayed there 2 times. If in the area again will definitely visit again N/A
- Diane (10/5): Very relaxing - All you needed was there just like home.
- Tony (8/5): Enjoyable stay - Close to Cutis Falls and walks in National Parks on Tamborine. Wildlife at your door. Also close to restaurants, cafes and shops. It is a very comfortable, clean and charming cottage right beside the rainforest. Friendly host Richard. The traffic noise from roads close to property has increased from our 2 previous stays as the population grows on the mountain.
- Aidan (10/5): -
- Mcnaught (9/5): Great location and very clean and comfy and private. - All very clean, well equiped and organized. Nice to have own space
Good central location. Unfortunately carpark roof too low for my Prado wiht roof racks.
Some of the higher tv channels had sound but no picture. I think remote was on its last legs. But no problem, was not visiting the mointain to watch tv!
- Moreno (7/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): Relaxing, quiet and close to sight-seeing venues. -
- Joanne (10/5): - We loved this cosy cottage ,clean ,well-appointed, and quiet getaway from the hustle & bustle of city life. Private cottage.
We loved the Mountain Hospitality of our hosts Richard & Elizabeth.
Our grandson loved the mountain. He didn't want to leave. There wasn't one thing I didn't like about this humble ,cosy cottage. 🥰 Breath in the mountain air nature at your doorstep, a short walk to Curtis Falls National Park . The abundance of birdlife as music to your ears . Relax & enjoy nature at its very best unwind & reboot your soul.
- Kaz (10/5): Cosy little cottage - Very cosy little cottage, just perfect for a couple to get away. The bed was very comfortable and the grounds are just beautiful. Thank you for a lovely stay.
- Joanne (8/5): Very good - Cosy and private. The toaster didn't work. Only one side heated.
- Weekes (8/5): Very good - Toaster needs replacing. Needs hooks or rails in the bathroom.
- Barry (8/5): good - cleanliness needs disability rail in shower
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Danielle (9/5): Superb -
- Jane (10/5): - Great quiet place to stay. Very spacious. Lovely walk nearby. Richard was very helpful. Maybe a repeater for the wifi as it was hard to connect sometimes as it would be a great quiet place to work. Would definitely stay again.
- Melody (9/5): Superb - Overall an excellent stay. Property was quaint, clean, and well-maintained. Beds were comfortable. Very close to Curtis Falls and other attractions around Mt Tamborine. Easy key pickup among arrival and Richard the host was very nice. Also there were a great collection of board games provided in the cottage which was quite fun. There is free wifi at the property but the speed is very slow, we ended up using 4G/5G on our devices during our stay. Would be great if you're looking for an internet detox but kind of annoying if you need wifi for work/studying (as we did). Cottage is also close to a main road which can be a bit loud. Hot water is limited to 8 minutes - have to wait 20-30 min to reheat.
- Ryan (10/5): - Stay was really nice, Richard was great and gave great recommendations for things to do. This was a really peaceful getaway.
- Jane (8/5): Cosy cabin in the woods - Richard welcomed us to Curtis cottage which had everything that we needed during our stay ( apart from a washing machine which might have been handy after two weeks away from home) .
The location was perfect for walking and visiting all areas of Tamborine Mountain.
- Brylowski (8/5): Beautiful stay and Richard was a great host - Location was great to wslk to everything The road noise was quite bad
- Ivan (9/5): Superb - Central location, quiet and peaceful.
- Jordan (9/5): Superb -
- Werner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brad (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous, cosy cottage with beautiful views of the rainforest and wildlife right from the back patio. Warm, friendly hosts.
- Tree (9/5): Excellent romantic weekend getaway -
- Liam (9/5): Superb -
- Brad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Weir (10/5): Will definitely be staying again - Great little cottage for a getaway. Loved having the National Park right at the back door & the visits from the scrub turkeys and kookaburras while having our morning coffee. The whole cottage was clean and very comfortable. Our hosts were very hospitable. Having to leave.
- Karla (10/5): Awesome Experience - The location was amazing, step out the back door into National Park That we had to leave
- Stewart (7/5): Very pleasant and well worth it - Nice location, short walk for a coffee and to Curtis Falls The room smelled very strongly of room deodoriser/freshener which was overpowering.
It was quite close to main road so traffic noise was noticeable and the figs dropping off the tree onto our roof all night woke us many times-I suppose when you’re in the middle of a forest nature does take precedence though!. Nothing would dissuade us from booking there again.
- Ron (8/5): Would definitely come back. (without the rain) - The location was central to everywhere on the mountain. Very close to restaurants, eateries, wineries and distilleries.
Although not new, the comforts were like a normal home. Rainforest at back door but rain during our stay prevented us from enjoying the outside facilities. A grab rail in the toilet would be of assistance for older clients.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - A great area to stay in.
- Salter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terry (8/5): Very good -
- Chenoa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derna (7/5): Good - Shower was very good.Bed very comfortable.
Convenient and all kitchen appliances for meal prep in cupboard. On a noisy road although did quieten at night. Kitchen area very cramped. Lots of juggling of appliances required. Wi Fi was hopeless.
- VLADIMIR (10/5): - nice peaceful location. Great and helpful owners
Thank you
- Dearna (7/5): Our stay was very pleasant. There was not too much to fault other than the mustiness of the cabin. - The location was perfect, cafe close for morning coffee, restaurants close, walking distance, or for more choice easy short drive. Other than the busy road (was referred to before we booked) the area was lovely backing onto the national park. There was enough cooking appliances and utensils to cook if preferred. The nice touch to have paper towels & some cling wrap was appreciated. Qld has had a wet summer, therefore there was some mildew on the raked celling which made the cottage smell musty. The windows don't open to provide a breeze though the cabin, we opened the two doors to create some breeze to eliminate some of the smell. It was not so pleasant sleeping with the doors closed at night. As there was no 'breeze' the towels didn't dry after each shower and other than the small washing rack there was no place to hang outside to dry out. Nothing seemed to dry so well.
- Teena (1/5): Horrible - No much Was mouldy wasn’t ready when we got there although they did set it up fast black mould on the roof made it very uncomfortable paid for 2 nights left after the 1st night would recommend to anyone
- Marty (10/5): Brilliant Place - From the moment I arrived was greeted warmly and made feel very welcome by
Richard and Elizabeth.
It is a lovely relaxing cottage all you need is there.
Richard is a wealth of information on places to see and restaurants or cafes for breakfast or just a coffee.
Thankyou ever so much.
I will certainly be back.
- Barbara (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful I loved walking out the back door and feeling like I was in a forest - This is the perfect location for a peaceful retreat but close to shops and tourist attractions
- Sutcliffe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helana (9/5): Superb -
- Albert (10/5): Excellent - All good No Hand rail in shower
- Benjamin (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (6/5): - The Cottage is quaint however, somewhat dated decor and furniture. No coffee machine as listed. Unfortunately, the road noise is audible inside the cottage. Otherwise, close to The Gallery Walk, other coffee shops and shopping.
- Julie (10/5): Great location for a relaxing getaway, walking distance to rainforest walks & cafes - Lovely neat & tidy cottage, very comfortable & close to everything.
- Leslie (9/5): Superb - Very relaxing , the bush walk was awesome, facilities were excellent Having to leave , the entrance was quite close to a corner of the road , had to aware of traffic
- Maibach (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely garden cottage stay. - Private garden location, easy access to local tourist attractions and cafe's. Cottage had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Backs onto forest so lovely bird song in morning and evening. Road a bit busy during the day but once day visitors in town leave, we hardly noticed the traffic noise.
- John (8/5): - property character and environment was lovely but It was very close to busy noisy road .
- Sutcliffe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicki (8/5): Great short stay to clear the mind and relax the sensors - It backed on to forestry so very relaxing. Great spot and only a couple of minutes from everywhere. Lovely host. Good place to unwind
- Stacey (10/5): the cottage was lovely and had an excellent location the staff/owners were accomodating and helped with suggesting a - the location was fantastic near everything from food to nature walks. the facilities were well kept and maintained pillows were a bit uncomfortable but swapped it out for a better one.located in the cupboard
- Nioly (9/5): Just loved it! - Location was excellent, central to everything, so road was busy. However, the convenience of close coffee shops, breakfast and waterfalls, well compensate for that! Delightful hosts. Nice, homely touches in cabin. Happy to stay there again. No towel rails in bathroom or tea towel rail in the kitchen.
- Ian (10/5): Loved our stay. Good location as able to walk to places - A lot of traffic noise
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (8/5): Very good - Location No wifi no Netflix or cast tv
- Lyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angela (10/5): Perfect for a short stay. Far enough away to enjoy the quiet and close enough to enjoy the local attractions. - This is a wonderful property. The warm welcome from Richard on arrival helped us with local information and the surroundings are great, especially the pademelons hopping around outside the back door. We made the most of short walks to the falls and local cafes and enjoyed the peaceful quiet surroundings.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
- Rosemary (9/5): A quiet base away from the hussel - Loved the privacy and solitude Bed too soft and a little tall
- Naomi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - privacy all good
- Holly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josh (10/5): 11/10 would recommend to everyone - Excellent place to stay. Quite and peaceful. Owners are very pleasant and helpful with food and locations around the area. Meet our needs.
- Julie (10/5): Very pleasant - Great All good
- John (9/5): great to hear the birdsong and be so close to nature in a comfortable cabin. - next door to a national park with a walk to a waterfall. on a busy road, but traffic disappeared once dark.
- Judy (10/5): Excellent value for money, hosts lovely -
- Geoffrey (10/5): - Cottage was great Hosts Richard and Elizabeth were very nice and helpful information was excellent as far as places to eat and things to see would recommend Curtis Cottage to anyone having a weekend or a few days in Mt Tambourine close to cafes and attractions.
- Sara (10/5): Family getaway with a toddler - Lovely little self contained cottage. Perfect for couples or families with little children. Close to everything. My 3 year old loved the 10 minute walk to swim in Curtis falls and the two minute walk to the ice cream shop and cafe. Less than 10 mins car trip to glow worms, skywalk and thunderbird park. 2 min drive to Main Street and gallery walk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful cottage, very friendly host. Close to Gallery Walk, with restaurants, cafes and interesting shops, and other local attractions. Wish we had been staying longer.
- Greg R. (8/5): Private and restful - The cottage was a bit retro but clean and comfortable. It was close to all places of interest on Tamborine. The road noise through the day was more than expected but quiet at night. It borders the National Park and Curtis Falls is a 10 minute walk. We had an enjoyable stay.
- Kate (10/5): - Richard is a great host, we stayed in the studio apartment which has recently been renovated. Everything we needed was here, and the location is walking distance to the main Tamborine tourist hub - great walks and wineries just a short drive away. Would definitely come back again.
- Leanne (10/5): Peaceful, relaxing haven - Peaceful, relaxing stay. Amazing and friendly hosts. Lovely breakfast. Self contained and extremely comfortable cottage.
- Peter (10/5): We enjoyed 3 nights atCurtis Cottage - We stayed at Curtis Cottage who have a quaint, a little dated but neatly and cleanly presented and comfortable self contained cottage. There were condiments there already. A whole carton of milk. A lovely selection of both herbal and breakfast tea. The hosts Richard and Elizabeth were lovely and accommodating and bought us a generous, beautifully home cooked hot breakfast the first morning, that was really appreciated after our travel the previous day, and were happy to talk about the places where we could go for the day later that morning. A friendly bush turkey would try to come in if you left the back door open. The cottage backs onto the bush, tropical rain-forest. The road noise wasn't too bad. Parking for our rental car was easy. I wouldn't rate it 5 star but a very good 3.5 to 4 star. We hadn't been to Tamborine Mountain in over 20 years so it was good to see what had changed over the years. It's busier now days but still charming. 30 minutes’ drive from the Warner Bros Movie World and Dreamworld theme parks. Gold Coast beaches are 45 minutes’ drive away. About 50 minutes from Coolangatta airport it is convenient to the attractions of both the mountain including the sky walk and some good cafes and shopping. The bed was very comfy. We would stay again, and recommend it to others.
- Paul and Shona (10/5): A romantic little cottage, amongst the rainforest. - The cottage is within close surrounds of all, the cafes, wineries, shopping strip ,gallery walk, the cool mountain air makes the rainforest walks, a delight, the glow worms at night are right next to the cottage, and a tea house on the boundary which is a must visit, the timeless essence of this mountain village ,is something to explore, leave the car keys behind ,and let the legs take you on a journey...a mountain adventure awaits you...
- S&L (8/5): Long weekend getaway - We decided to go to Mt Tamborine on a spur of the moment to see the scarecrow festival and to go somewhere different for the long weekend.
Though a bit pricey, we chose to stay at the Curtis Cottage for something different.
Richard and Elizabeth, the managers, were excellent and very friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely relaxing time and would definitely stay there again.
We enjoyed the resident bush turkey and the kookaburra and the overall atmosphere and privacy.
A cooked breakfast was also included. We were lucky enough to see some rain on the last day as well.
Its conveniently located near shops and parklands and a short drive to restaurants and lookouts.
