Guest Reviews
- Robert (10/5): - Parking was on the street next the hotel. Could get very congested in the evening. We parked our vehicle and walked wherever we was going. Everything is within walking distance. Staff was very helpful and attentive to our needs.
- Matthew (10/5): - The staff are friendly and great. The hotel is very close to the hot pools and several nice restaurants. Very charming stay
- Kristina (10/5): - Parking lot is convenient and was walking distances to everything! Will definitely stay here again.
- Tim (10/5): - We love the Home Hotel!! It is quaint and cozy and clean and the staff are super friendly!!
- Natalie (10/5): - Would definitely stay again.
- William (8/5): - The hot springs water is the cleanest I have ever seen. Nicely developed pools of varying temps.
- Emily (10/5): - The hot spa both outside and in the huge soaking tub in the room felt amazing on sore tired muscles. The restaurant right next door had great food and beer and was only 50 yards away. Would definitely recommend this place!
- Lacey (10/5): Clean, Relaxing, and Convention - Staff was super friendly! I loved getting the text beforehand with our ETA, which made it easy to get the after-hours check-in instructions if we needed them. The room was really clean, and we loved relaxing in the oversized tub. Everything was within walking distance, which made our 18-year anniversary amazing!
- Susan (6/5): - The private hot pool was fantastic! The beds are very uncomfortable and the doors do not seal all the way so there was a ton of bugs in our room! Should be an easy fix if the hotel wanted to increase their ratings.
- Hardik (10/5): Amazing stay near hot lava springs. - It was amazing. The location is beautiful and staff is accommodating and flexible. Would highly recommend.
- Cheri (8/5): - The room had a really strong smell. Not sure what it was. Not dirty but maybe a cleaning spray?
- Steve (10/5): weekend in Lava - Awesome place to stay in Lava, great staff, location and nostalgia. Listened to the live music from the Brewery on the back porch, very relaxing. I'll stay here again on my next visit.
- Laura (10/5): - Cute and quiet town. Cute room!
- Jim (10/5): - Super friendly and responsive.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Clean room and nice personable staff! Coming back!
- Scott (8/5): - Great location and clean hotel. The room was a bit small but would definitely stay there again.
- Vilma (8/5): - Todo muy limpio
- mike (2/5): - What we order was not promised stayed for 160 a night it was worse than any other motel I’ve stayed in
- Kaylene (10/5): - It was clean, quiet and treated very good.
- Doris (10/5): - Super clean, updated rooms, close to hot springs
.
- Stacie (10/5): - Everything is within walking distance. The staff was extremely nice and we loved the room!
- Angela (10/5): Old but good. - Location was perfect, close to to everything. Room had a mineral jetted tub, miny fridge and microwave. Free coffee or tea in the office. Small table and chair outside your door.
Cons-There is no place to put anything, no drawers or shelves to sit your stuff on in the room or bathroom. No space to sit your make-up or hair stuff on or next to the sink. So you will have to sit everything on the floor or your nightstand.
- Lonnie (10/5): - Old building, but clean. Very nice staff! Great location! It was our 1st visit to Lava, but we will be back!
- Kelly (10/5): - favorite place to stay in lava hot springs so far. the room was nice, the bed was comfy, there was a tv that had satelite and internet, if you know lava that is a huge deal. Will staybhere from now on.
- Janice N. (8/5): - There are not very many places to stay in this small town. This one was comfortable and quiet and fine for one night.
- Larry (10/5): - Good all the way around.
- Michael (10/5): A sufficient room for a short stay. - Small room, but sufficient. Comfortable bed. HUGE soaking tub fed from hot mineral springs. Close to Lava Hot Springs pools, several dining options, coffee. It's a cute little town.
- Linda (8/5): - It was a nice quaint hotel— historic don’t expect all the bells and whistles. One cool thing is the hotel’s water comes from the hot springs in the area. Love the antiques and the old pictures trough out the hotel
- Suzanne (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Easy walking to restaurants and hot springs
- Chamaiphorn (8/5): - The room is clean,good location.
- Yukari (8/5): - Outdoor Jacuzzi, could enjoy the view of the river, I wish that open hour was 8 am instead of 9
- Donald (10/5): Exceeded expectations! - Excellent place to stay. Room was very quaint with a very comfortable bed. The bath with natural hot mineral water was amazing. Would definitely stay here again!
- Carrie Ann (10/5): Great Couple's Getaway - We very much enjoyed our stay. With the hot pools just a short walk away, a brewery (with excellent food) right next doors, and the gigantic two-person tub in the room, this was a great place to spend a couple's night. We will absolutely be back!
- sherry (10/5): - They're awesome
- Russell (6/5): - Basic room with that could have been cleaner.
- Deborah (8/5): - Bed was super comfortable. It is a great location and really liked the back porches.
- Eric (10/5): - Check in was pleasant, very friendly staff, room was well decorated and clean.
Would recommend to anyone for their stay.
- Jonathan (10/5): - Access to their sister property’s hot spring pool was nice. It was only a 2-3 minute walk from our room. The air conditioning kicked a$ in our room!! The tub is Massive (could easily fit 5-6 midg3ts) and they pipe in the hot springs water directly into the tub inside the hotel room to soak privately!!!
- Milton (10/5): - Great location and history.
- Nikki (10/5): - We love visiting Lava every year. Last year we found a last minute booking at the home hotel. It’s a little older than some of the hotels but Tracy (front desk) made it awesome. We were so happy when she called the day before our booking to make sure we were coming. The only thing I asked is if she was going to be there . She truly makes it feel like you are staying with relatives - all the good parts, none of the annoying parts. Thanks Tracy and we hope to see you next year.
- Tim (10/5): - After a very nice visit we left something in oir room. Not only did the staff call to let us know, they mailed it to us. Excellent place with great service
- sarah (10/5): - The location is fabulous, close to everything! Beds are so comfortable. Rooms are very clean. Great little place, I would definitely stay there again.
- Sandra (10/5): - The check-in experience was wonderful, lovely lady at the front desk. Our room was clean and we were able to park right in front of it as an assigned spot. The facilities were a bit outdated and just remember, the minerals do a number on the tubs! But everything else was spotless and totally enjoyable for our 2 night stay.
- corina (10/5): - The staff are very friendly.
- Matthew (10/5): Cozy place to stay, central to everything - We had the best time in Lava Hot Springs and the Home Hotel. Such a nice town, tucked into the mountains and the hotel offered a very comfortable, clean and relaxing place for us to stay. We'll definitely be coming back soon.
- Kimberly (4/5): - Bugs in bathroom & when I asked front desk she offered to “clean” them but they still came back.
- KHANHLINH (10/5): - Love my private hot spring bathtub. Comfortable bed. The receptionist when we were check in she very nice helpful. Stay one night 6/8/2025.
- Vilate (10/5): - Great
- derek (8/5): It was great - Had a great time but did not really see much hotel staff.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - We spent a night here in late May while on a road trip vacation. Positives were the big in-room soaking tub fed by hot spring waters, easy parking, and the friendly host. However, the town of Lava Hot Springs was just not for us - overcrowded with tourists and grungy with litter. After 8:00 we had a hard time finding place to eat ... walked out of one place that was just too dirty. Four stars for the hotel but none for the town.
- Becky (10/5): - The tub was amazing!! The bed was really hard and the room was cold. The staff was so nice.
- Katie (6/5): Save your back! - The people were amazing but the bed was so terrible. Everything else was good. The room was as clean as possible for how old the hotel itself is. Definitely still has a musky old smell, which makes anyone uneasy. The sheets and bedding all clean. The room was as clean as possible but the condition of the bed was awful. Especially when you are out of town to take advantage of the hot pools and massage, after that bed my back is worse off then before I left home. Definitely won’t be adding that to the list of places to stay again. Also it was very loud next to the street. We were awoken all through the nights all weekend, from loud music to stupid drivers. It wasn’t my favorite stay.
- David (8/5): - It was a nice quiet place to stay for a fun trip to an old town.
- Shaun (10/5): quaint and wonderful - A quaint original hotel and inn looked after with care and run by lovely staff who were very helpful and accommodating
- Stephen (8/5): - ...
- Todd (10/5): - Beds were pretty hard but enjoyed everything else.
- Dannell (10/5): - The property is very close to lava springs very convenient restaurant
- Verified traveler (10/5): Tracy is amazing!! - Tracy was absolutely phenomenal!!! She made my trip so relaxing and helped me with everything little question or concern I had. She absolutely made my stay amazing!! Thank you thank you thank you Tracy!!
- Jeremy (10/5): - Close proximity to everything in town. Short walk to the hot springs. Older accommodations but everything was clean and in working condition.
- Leslie (8/5): - Was convenient & close to everything. Good accommodation.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - The check in lady was very helpful and provided above and beyond customer service!
- Lori (10/5): - Home Hotel just like home
- Chereneh (10/5): - Awesome place! Was able to find out more information on other rooms for our next stay!
- Stephanie Gooch (6/5): - The queen room was very small and cramped. The heater didn’t work and it was cold. They had a portable heater in the room instead. We picked tge room because of the whirlpool hot springs tub in the room. The jets for the whirlpool tub did not work. They did not disclose this until we had checked in. Would not go there again.
- Jessica (10/5): - So close to the hot springs and there is a new restaurant down the street.
- Nora (8/5): - Love the place. It was cute convenient. It has free parking close to the public mineral swimming pools, which are a great option. It was my first time at this little town and I would definitely recommend it.
- Jess (10/5): - Super cute, great location! Right by the new brewery and hot springs!
- Rhiannon (10/5): - The large tubs and the lady at the front desk..loved them!!
- benjamin (10/5): - The hotel staff was helpful and kind. The room was clean. Good environment.
- Melissa (10/5): - I liked the location. We were next door to the brewery and the hot pools. The rooms have large soaker tubs and there is a hot tub on the property. We also used the hot pool at their sister hotel. I took my 7 year old grandson and he loved it. Coffee and tea in the hotel lobby. I like coffee makers in my room which they didn't have but a minor issue, not a deal breaker. Staff was friendly.
- Scott (8/5): - Staff were amazing! Extremely helpful and professional. Accomodations were good for an older facility.
- Michelle (8/5): - The hotel has a great location. Close to the hot springs and walking distance to everything in town. The walls are thin and I was able to hear the neighbors just talking and was worried about hearing them through the night but it was very quiet.
- Scott (10/5): - Great room!
- Wallace Shane (10/5): - The front desk staff was incredibly helpful. And the minor issue we had they took care of right away.
- Brittaney (10/5): - Everything was cozy and the staff was very nice
- Primrose (10/5): - I’ve been staying here for over 10 years. I loved it then and I love it now.
- Christian (10/5): - Old hotel around hot springs
- Tiffany (10/5): - Great location. Clean room. Loved the little patio with private hot spring tub.
- Jessica (10/5): - I knew there was a soaking tub, but I didn’t realize it was so big! Definitely a huge perk! The hotel is just a short walk away from the pools and all the stores and restaurants. We will be back soon.
- Ruben (10/5): - Close to the
- William Shane (10/5): - This was a great place to stay for the weekend. The soaking tub in the room was amazing. Will definitely be staying again.
- lisa (8/5): - Great stay
- Primrose (8/5): - I really like this hotel because it’s cute, quaint and comfortable. The staff are always so kind and helpful. The free coffee and hot chocolate is a major plus. The hotel is historical. When I walk into the hotel lobby, I feel like I’ve been transported back to the early 1900s. The hotel has a very beautiful charm to it.
- Shellie (10/5): - Loved it
- Judge (8/5): - Super cozy
- Kevin (10/5): - While there was an issue with the AC, the person who manages it, Tracy, was incredible with all she does there. Makes you feel welcome, fixes any and all issues, which if any arise you let her know and she does an amazing job. My pillow had a tear, she replaced it, AC didn’t work, she brought me a fan, dogs in a parked car outside barking, but my concern they were left there over night, she made sure she got the plate and verified they weren’t staying all night, it was someone at the restaurant across the street. Truly above and beyond service and my fiancé and I will be coming back because of this experience.
- mindie (10/5): - Very cozy and warm, felt
Like a home away from home, staff was extremely nice :)
- Heidi (8/5): - Tubs are wonderful.
- Anastacia (10/5): Home hotel - Each room is based on an artist. It was super cute. Close to the hot pools and central to everything. Great stay. The staff is so friendly and there’s a cute little coffee station in the lobby.
- Seth (10/5): - Very close to the Hot Springs. Clean and simple. The hot tub in the room was nice.
- Kimberly (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the hotel is so close to Lava Hot Springs, we ended up walking there after we drove over and realized the parking was only a tiny bit closer than the hotel. The rooms are dated but very comfortable. We stayed in one of the motel – like buildings next to the main hotel.
- Janet (10/5): - Quaint and clean. Great location-friendly staff. Will return
- Richard (10/5): - I am thoroughly impressed with the staff during my stay. I cut my finger pretty bad, my own fault, and the staff went out of their way to help me by driving me to the local store to get some butterfly bandages and etc. to administer first aid. They were kind and attentive and just pleasant to visit with. After that, the stay was superb! The soaking tub with the mineral water from the spring was a unique touch and very relaxing. We slept well after a soak and walked to breakfast and the hot springs the next morning. I will be staying here every time I come back!
- Brent (10/5): - Loved it. Will be back again
- Kaylee (10/5): - Love this place so cute..
- shawn (10/5): - Older but clean hotel. Friendly staff. Coffee is on. And close to hot springs… you have all you need.
- Parley (10/5): - Great location on Main Street. Walking distance from the hot pools, bar, and dining. Friendly and personable staff willing to offer help or local advice when needed.
- James (8/5): - I loved the giant jetted tub in the room big enough for two
- Austin (8/5): - The personal mineral bath was nice.
- Cynthia (10/5): - The mineral spa was awesome
