Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never Again!! - Hated it. Seemed more like for homeless people. Parking area was in the back in dirt was very creepy. Some men were back there aaking me too many questions. A huge space was at the top of the door had to cover it with a towel. Covers didnt look to clean. Place didnt remind me of a hotel at all. Overall the front desk person was nice. Didnt have any shoes a little unprofessional
- Jamie (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - This was the worst hotel ever. I have a bunch of videos from this establishment. It was a bedroom with no ac unit. The door to our room would t lock. They let the back door of the place stay open so who ever wants to come in they can. There is a bar next door we felt very unsafe knowing our door wouldn’t lock and they didn’t keep the back door locked. Also upon walking in every single time the building smelt of weed. I let the front desk know and he didn’t care I have a video of that as well. Also the vent in our room brought cigarette smoke through our room. Once again a video of the front to caring. I would like a call back from someone here and a refund.
- LUIS (4/5): - Lack of security at day and night time
No privacy
- William (10/5): - It was very quiet rooms were clean
- Ahmad (2/5): - It’s very bad , very very bad period
- Adil (6/5): Ok for the price - Tv didn’t work, no toilet paper or hand soap in the bathroom. No coffee or water
- Rodolfo (10/5): - 👍
- Shawn (6/5): - It was ok i didnt like the fact i had no mini fridge or control of my ac so it was a lil warm for my liking
- Frank (4/5): - No heat there was a 3 in gap under our door where a cat or rat could crawl under just not a good place for Expedia
- James (6/5): - Ehh Very old not very clean and the doors didnt lock
- Mark (2/5): DON'T BELIEVE GOOD REVIEWS - This place is going to HAUNT me for a bit. Our power was out at our house during a freeze and it was one of the few places with availability. We left within 2 hours of getting there and went home to sleep in the dark and cold. Anything is better than this place. I think I'd sleep under a bridge first. Just to give a rundown of the issues. The whole place stinks. It is such a strong smell it was still on my clothes the following day. The flooring in the entire building is unlevel, so much so that our TV stand sat at an angle. There is a 3" gap at the base of the door to the room so you have the hallway light coming in and you hear everything. The rooms don't have a thermostat. I guess the building is on a single unit? I would not be surprised if the building has asbestos. This place shouldn't pass an inspection. Save yourself the trouble, DON'T STAY HERE!
- Sandra (4/5): DIVE! - The door was broken and needed to be lifted up to open or shut. There was a 4” gap between the door and floor- had to stuff a blanket under to keep my dog inside. Freezing- and no individual controls, central AC. Bed was uncomfortable! But owners were nice.
- Matthew (2/5): - The door had about a 1.5-2" gap at the bottom. The TV didn't change channels. There was glitter or something on the bed sheets. Management offered to change rooms and were nice however it seemed like an easier and better option to find a different hotel.
- Jay (6/5): - Convenient but please ask the lady with the dog to get her dog to stop barking. Thank you.
- africansmith (2/5): This place is a dump! - I was deceived by the pictures they posted on Hotels.com. Every room has a shared vent (ours was caked with black mold!) so you cannot change the temperatures in the room. The "hotel" is located as a "storefront" on a very busy, noisy street. There are no windows looking outside. The only window is behind a curtain that looks into the hallway. The room smelled like B.O., and the halls stunk with the unmistakable smell of marijuana. I asked the management to see 3 more rooms before choosing the one for the night since Hotels.com refused to help me with a refund/credit. In my opinion, this place should be visited by the health department! Also, I don't know what would happen in the event of a fire!
- Brian (2/5): This "dump" is fraudulently revealed by the Pics. - The pictures on Hotels.com are very deceiving! This place is a dump! I am also suspicious of every positive review I read before reserving this "hotel." I am convinced they are all contrived by relatives.
The rooms all share the same airconitioner! You cannot adjust the temps in your room. The vents are caked with black mold!!!!!! This place is a health hazard. This place was so bad it brought my daughter to tears.
- Survalvin (10/5): - I like the entertaining tv channels. A variety of channels. Clean rooms and restroom was awesome. Staff was very kind and even helped hold the door when I brought in my luggage. I Would recommend a stay there. Price is reasonable also.
- LuAn (4/5): - Very primitive and misleading photos. Smelled of cigarette smoke.
- chrisaltonc (10/5): Relaxation and Meditation Guaranteed - This place is the best. Friendly and accommodating Talent that really know how to help you with a great experience and relax. The room are large and very nice, well kept. I have to say this is the best place in Manor Texas. Reminds me of a B&B and I love those, because it has the feeling that the owners are opening up their home to you. I felt welcomed and had an amazing experience. Thank you all so much and God bless you!
- Maria Fernanda (8/5): Will come back - Great staff, close to restaurants
- Dominic (8/5): - It was a pleasant stay at a small local hotel...
- Michael (8/5): Cold water - Clean hotel. Water didnt get hot at all
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean and surprisingly quiet for a busy area. Bed was comfy.
- Patrick (10/5): - Nice
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The pictures on the website are totally different from reality. The door frame didn’t match with the door so there was a space at the top where I could see the hallway and there was a window in the door for no apparent reason!!! Totally paid too much for a worthless room and it wasn’t even close enough to Austin!!!!!
- Typhanie (2/5): So scared that I could not sleep. - Building was old! Very old!
Beds was old. Mattress was old.
Barely light in the bathroom.
Really sketchy area of town.
Door did not seem to lock too well. Huge gap at top of the door and at the bottom.
I was worried that if someone wanted to break that door down, they could easily. I couldn’t sleep at all.
I should have left but I didn’t know Austin and didn’t know where to go.
I really want my money back.
- jim (2/5): - We didn't stay there. Water leak in our room,
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older style vintage facility. Rooms are nicely remodeled.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was no way to control the heat in the room and it was very cold. When the font desk was called they said they would raise the heat and they did not or at least to where you could tell. Also there were no extra blankets in the room either.
- Meg (6/5): - We were desperate for a room when we booked this and wound up not staying here. Stairs, no elevator, worn carpets, old old beds/mattresses. It was clean and manager willing to accommodate the very cold conditions in the rooms that had no heat. Located in middle of block of old stores. 17 rooms. No elevator. Not recommended.
- Merari (6/5): Good area to stay in nice owners could update room - Room smelled a little funny, bed was squeaky and the door to the room had a huge open gap between the floor and bottom of the door. Somebody could defiantly look thru if wanted to look under the door.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean, very simple hotel. I will definitely stay again!
- Verified traveler (6/5): You get what you pay for. - Rooms have no windows and room walls are very thin. The hotel rooms look just like the picture.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great affordable place close to Austin clean very comfy bed
- Verified traveler (8/5): It was good other than I never felt the air condit - It was good other then it was a little warm in the room
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Due to computer problems, I couldn’t be given a room key at check-in and had to be let in by staff. I finally got a room key the night before I left.
- Q (2/5): The Most Atrocious Hotel Ever. - This hotel was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever seen. I walked into the room and the smell alone caught my attention, I open the fridge to see if there were food left in there and there was a dead roach in the refrigerator. Seriously! The pillows were yellow and so were the towels after four minutes in the hotel I walked back down to the front desk and ask the receptionist to check me out as the room was beyond filthy and she gave me attitude and proceeded to tell me that she could not give me the check out paperwork until the morning when her boss got back and the printer was down. I left and went to a different hotel paying 150 bucks a night without a second thought. This hotel was horrible.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I drove up to the front door, it was locked. given the appearance I left without checking in
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Our room was canceled with no warning. Place had no parking and was seriously sketchy. 10/10 would not recommend.
- April (6/5): Won't go back - The room was cold, there was no maid service. Remote to the TV didn't work very well. We were only given 1 towel when there was 2 of us. Wifi didn't work at at
- moore707 (2/5): Don't waste your money! - The hotel is not closed. When we checked in it looked like the manager was strung out, we also noticed people checking in that were clearly paid for the hour of fun... when we got to our room it smelled funny and the trash hadn't been removed, plus the bed wasn't made. The help was smoking out back and had their child running around - not a professional environment when you have to bring your child to work, she was a young child and I felt sorry for her having to play in a hotel, she should be at home in her house playing with her toys. Thankfully we refused to stay. Not a place I would recommend or even go back to. No wonder its so cheap to stay there. Don't waste your time or money.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very old building. Tastefully redone. Had to ask for toilet paper when our roll ran out. No soap in room.
- gchutrau (2/5): never again - My overall experience was very bad.
I booked a night for 60$ with Booking.com. The property is in an old building in the town of Manor, Tx. It is very odd that the main door to the first floor corridor leading to the rooms is the front door to the street! The room was clean, equipped with a fridge, microwave (not spotless clean), flat screen TV and something that looked like a router (I didn't try to connect to the internet). The only window was on the room door. It didn't have a blackout but a curtain so all the light from the corridor made it into the room. The door had a gap at the top so more light and sound inundated my room. I could hear everything happening in the corridor. I had no sense of privacy. Rude guests would be very loud at the corridor late at night 12AM-1AM to the point I had to go out and ask them to shut up. Even though it seemed the room had been renovated there was no sound insulation. I could here all sorts of noises around and above me. The people in the room directly above me in the 2nd floor wouldn't stop walking, dropping stuff on the floor, flushing the toilet. They went on and on until about 2AM. Overall, I couldn't sleep more than 2 hours.
The bathroom was clean but almost no toiletries. One cheap small bar of soap, cheap toilet paper, and old white towels. I was shocked when I came back from dinner to find a lady (maid?) sitting on the floor in the corridor, folding the towels meant for the rooms ! The corridor also strongly smelled like food (curry?). Toilet seat was plastic and just a tad small for the toilet, Hot water was OK. I did not see any bugs. Nowhere to put my tooth brush, coffee cups or coffee machine, no telephone.
Beds were 2 twin beds, OK for me but very small for any tall person, One of the mattresses wasn't in good shape so I used the other one. No chairs in the room. Furniture seemed cheap, especially a small round table like from a bar, but OK.
The young man at the check in was polite but didn't wear a uniform, just a white T-shirt, didn't look very professional.
Parking is free - on the street. There's no private parking.
Sometimes I'm OK about the tradeoff between low rate and quality, but this was too bad.
- Niecey (8/5): Awesomenesd - I love the fact it’s in a small town but not far from major stores & restaurants. The bonus is enroute to Houston, TX. The hotel has a home feel to it. Only set back was the remote to the cable box & tv didn’t work with no access WiFi. Also, the central heat & Air is automatically controlled so you’re unable to adjust the temperature if you get too hot or cold.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Unsafe to stay - Walked in and waited 20 min to get my room key. Once I got my key I opened my room door and turned around and walked out. Did not feel safe staying. Holes in the blanket, room wasn’t big enough to stay comfortably for my week stay. Men standing in the hallway and being vulgar as I made my way to my room. Don’t know what they converted this place from but they should not have tried to make it a travel stay destination! More like a halfway house in the ghetto!
- James (2/5): the hotel room was horrible smell like urine - did not stay in the room room was not suitable
- Norman (8/5): You get exactly what you pay for - The people running the motel were kind and helpful every time. The convenience of having a store and restaurant with a sports bar was a major plus. Had the feeling of a small town motel. Would stay there again without any hesitation.
- Stephenie (2/5): - Extremely nice staff. Tho room was clean. The hotel itself is rather odd and old. Very loud. I could here everything going on from other guests.
- luz (2/5): - I want my money back horrible hotel please take of this hotel from hotel.com horrible
- Soumyaranjan (10/5): Expect the unexpected !!! - This place will not be usual location...not near downtown or some happening area. But it's nice cozy place if you want to spend a night. some local food places and a bar are in walking distance. The room was surprisingly big and clean (I was not expecting by looking from the appearance of hotel...to be honest). I felt it more kind of studio apartment (smaller though) than the usual hotel.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Awful - Rang a doorbell to get into front office. Queen-sized bed was 2 twins pushed together. Bathroom locked my boyfriend in. And our door was at least 3 inches off the ground. Plus the key reader was apparently broke so we didn't have a key to our room.
- Donald (2/5): I will not do business with Hotels.com again. - This place and the weak effort to remedy the situation is why I will not do business with Hotels.com ever again.
This is a place that probably charges by the hour when people stumble over from (connected building) Bar next door! People were smoking crack at the back entrance in broad daylight!
I'M NOT TRYING TO BE FUNNY!!!
Where I ended up charged $30 MORE on Hotels.com than the lady at the desk quoted on the phone. Nice discount!
- Tony (2/5): NOPE.COM - Do everyone a favor, and do not stay here, from the bottom of the door missing about 2.5 inches so you could slide a pizza under it, to the place smelling like drying wood, to the AC not working.
- C6892AJjoshuac (2/5): SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL - This place made me want to gag. Literally. The entire place smells like a dog's butt and shrimp ramen noodles.
Our room had dog hair all over the bed. The fridge had Klondike bars and KFC from the previous person. When I pointed this out to the staff, they asked if I wanted to keep the food... and they were not joking.
There was dog food all around our bed. Something that looked like meatloaf on the wall. No toilet paper. No shower curtain and best of all, what looked to be KFC chicken grease on the headboard. Let's hope that's what it was.
We spent 80 bucks at Walmart to have clean linens just to endure a single night. I woke up to what smelled, again, like a dog's butt and shrimp ramen noodles. Someone must have been making breakfast. I don't know what the hell goes on in this place, but it ain't right!
I'll leave you with a picture of a spoon that someone else left. I wish I had taken more pictures, but that was the last thing on my mind.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a great place! Really nice people. Check in and out very easy!
- mgc1750 (2/5): A joke? - Refused to stay here. Front door directly on street front and locked. View of narrow hallway with really bad carpet. No parking. Backs up to a dirt alley. Walked to front door and turned around and left. Sketchy area of town. Take this off your website!
- TexasAuto (2/5): Horrible horrible experience..... Very rude staff, no service, roaches - Horrible horrible experience..... Very rude staff, no service, roaches. Staff refuses to change bedding and will not provide basic services required to stay ie. toilet paper at the very least. Runs this hotel like it is an East Indian home and you are simply irritants that occupy space, I have never in my life been so disrespected and treated poorly especially by anyone from eastern decent .
- Belfraq (2/5): Avoid at all costs! - If I could rate this hotel no stars I would. On arrival we were assigned a room in the lobby area which on entering my Fiance picked up a router to locate a Wi-Fi password but instead found a family of cockroaches. We were offered another room which was dark, dingy and dirty and the whole hotel had strong cooking smells.
I asked for a refund which was agreed but would have to be arranged by hotel and expedia. I even left with a signed document confirming we did not stay. On arriving back to the UK I phoned the hotel directly as Expedia confirmed they were having trouble confirming this. I was hung up on twice. In the end expedia refunded me anyway as when they finally made contact they said they never agreed to a refund! Please read previous comments from the manager where he claims he would ask for a refund if he didn't like a room. These people are full of lies and deceit, do not give them your money because all you will get in return are unwanted creepy crawlie pets, filth and grime.
- Fridge86 (2/5): Worst hotel ever! - I have never had a worse experience at any hotel. The room, the service, everything was awful. There were bugs in the room and they said they would refund us, but after leaving (our stay lasted less than 10 minutes) they then refused. If you do have to stay here, don't lift anything up, as it will have cockroaches underneath. I would suggest buying a sleeping blanket and kipping outside as a preferable situation though. Please don't give these rude and untrustworthy people your money!
- H8139YKjuliem (10/5): Excellent value - We stayed in the first room as you come in the front door, it's a king room and was as nice as any higher end hotel. Bed, pillows and linens were comfortable, TV was easy to see, bathroom was large and clean, as was the shower.
Really appreciated the extra security at the front door (you have to have your key to get in or you have to ring the bell and wait to be let in), although many of the other guests would turn the lock so the door didn't close correctly.
Management was friendly and easy to work with, the food smell was a bit overwhelming, in the hallway, when coming in, but the rooms all smell fresh and clean.
There's a tiny grocery next door with the basics needed and 3 restaurants within walking distance that have good food, plus Austin is 15 minutes away for anything else.
- TTexasTom (2/5): Never Again - Booked 3 rooms here. First, when you walk in the strong smell of curry will knock you over if you are not used to it. Standing in hallway we could hear conversations in rooms down the hall. My room: no windows, except for large window in hallway door that had miniblinds on it, light from hallway flooded room (had to hang shirts over door to get a little darkness, cracks under door, thin walls, "king" bed was 2 uncomfortable twins pushed together. Other rooms were upstairs overlooking street. Again thin walls, commotion in street in front of hotel upset those in my party. One room had no toilet paper. On plus side, there was hot water and decent pressure and free wifi. Microwave (very small) in room, fridge in room (although it had food left over from previous guest). We were suppose to stay additional nights but cancelled and booked elsewhere. It is cheap, but you get what you pay for. Scratch this one off the list.
- tastrophe (8/5): Unique, quaint, cost effective - If you expect a Mariott or Hyatt, or even a Red Roof type place, look elsewhere. However, if you want a clean room in a real small-town TX neighborhood, this is the place. The hotel is nestled within a strip of stores and appeared to have been an office building or something before it was converted. It reminded me a bit of a dorm. There are windows from each room into the hallway and the hallways are narrow. The room was clean and comfortable, had a microwave and fridge and a gigantic bathroom. I don't know if there was wifi, but there was cable. It's old, but very cute. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance.
- johnhN788MG (2/5): The Terrible Inn - I can't remember the last time I stayed in such a terrible place. First of all ADA forget that. This old remodel building has cooridors that are tight and wires hanging through out with low ceilings, Terrible. The rooms have no chairs or air controls, the door had a large gap at the top which cause hall lights to shine into my bed keeping me up most of the night Terrible. Also their is a window to the hallway which also let in more light. Bed mattress is lumpy, Terrible.
Rooms have no chairs or land line keeping you from calling the desk, not manned, so you can not get on the WiFi as promised Terrible. The manager told me it was on but my iPad could not log on since it had no IP address. I found a dirty micro wave and shower stall had empty bottles from previous client. Terrible. Also manager would not let me see room unless I paid in full without a refund.
- 12LauraB12 (8/5): Formula 1 USA in Austin: close to Circuit of the Americas - We traveled the weekend to attend the Formula 1 event in Austin, Texas. We booked late so, no many hotels available, and this one seemed to be close to the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). It was located in Manor, Texas, close to 290 route that we took to come from Houston. And that's right: from the crossing street, 20 minutes south, was COTA. The hotel was recently remodeled and the carpets, painting and furniture were brand new and nice. The bathroom was large and the shower probably is the only one, in all the hotels I recently stayed, that you can take a shower without wetting all the floor out of the shower curtain. The town was very small but, in the same block where the hotel was located, there was a BBQ place, a Mexican Cafe and a supermarket. It would be nice though, if they would have a coffee maker in the room (they have microwave and under the counter fridge) and some place to hang clothes, but for our only night stay was enough.
- LaruChibKauv (10/5): Great remodeling and service - First off, this hotel is in historic downtown Manor, meaning it is in an old style building that's a line of lots. That being said this is great hotel. You can really tell this place was remodeled, from the fresh paint to the newness of the rooms. The front desk was quick and greeted everyone warmly (when I arrived, there were 2 other check-ins that arrived just before I did) and showed each guest their room personally, partly because there are no number plates yet, explained to us by the front desk because they had just repainted, and partly because there aren't any pictures on the websites. We saw the front desk (who we later learned were the new general managers) pretty often, showing guest rooms or giving guest directions to locations or just advice on what and where to go during their stay in Austin. A great and charming duo! We did have to let the hot water run a few minutes, but other than that, everything was perfect. The beds were soft, the TV and cable was good, and it was quiet. The WiFi could've been a little better, but, that seems to be a common problem with hotels. Downtown Austin is about 10 - 15 minutes away and there are a lot of restaurants nearby. I recommend this hotel and will be staying here again in future travels.
- 349kennya (10/5): Nice remodeling! - I've stayed at this hotel before the renovations and i have to say it has greatly improved! The room was spotless, nice working shower, awesome bed, and a very quiet environment. Would definitely recommend this over staying in a expensive austin hotel.
