O pequeno almoço é muito bom e toda a casa é bonita e merece uma visita. Lugar muito tranquilo, muito bonito e muita simpatia por parte dos proprietários e funcionária.

• G (10/5): A fantastic Manor House and amazing hosts, I would love to go back - This is a beautiful house with an immense history, and its heritage still leaves in the family of the current hosts. The rooms are incredible, and there is detail and comfort in everything. The breakfast is fabulous, and is served in one of the beautiful rooms of the house. We loved the garden, the pool , the view, sitting in the balcony, visiting the surrounding towns and restaurants. The hosts made our stay very welcome and comfortable, I was privileged to be shown so much of the house's history and having memorable conversations that made our time so special. These are the most charming and kind hosts
• Ortrun (10/5): Our second stay at this beautiful historic family home - This was our second stay at Casa da Portela de Sampriz and we enjoyed it like the first time here! Thanks to the history of the place, its outstanding renovation, the nice setting in the landscape, the excellent interior and exterior - and the hospitality of Leonor and Alberto, this was again one of the most remarkable stays of our trip through the North of Portugal. The rooms are delicately furnished with historic furniture and equipped at a very high standard. We felt immediately at home and enchanted, not at last in the common room among the old granite walls of the former winery's basement. In the morning, Leonor makes sure that you cannot leave without having tasted the many little treats of a Portuguese breakfast including home baked cake while enjoying the historic charm of the large breakfast room. The place is perfectly located next to the Peneda-Geres National Park and Alberto will not fail to recommend routes, sights, and restaurants. Upon return, enjoy a bottle of refreshing local Vinho Verde at the pool as well as a gorgeous sunset over the hilly country of the Lima river. As after the first time, we have a personal pledge to return ... and we are hopeful to do so :) None

Passámos uns dias fantásticos a desfrutar da calma da zona, perfeita para descansar. A propriedade é um solar lindíssimo com espaços exteriores e uma piscina que são um convite ao relaxamento. Fomos recebidos com uma hospitalidade e simpatia notáveis, que nos fizeram sentir em casa desde o primeiro momento. O nosso quarto era muito confortável, com um espaço generoso, um ótimo quarto de banho e bastante arrumação para a roupa. O pequeno-almoço era bom e a localização, a poucos quilómetros da vila, é ideal para quem quer almoçar ou jantar fora e regressar ao sossego do alojamento. Não tenho nenhum aspeto negativo a apontar.

Elisabete uma querida! O quarto é mesmo muito bom. Tudo muito melhor que um hotel de 5 estrelas Para quem quer mesmo descansar e não ir para a confusão do mês de agosto, em plena festa de S. Bartolomeu, seria agradável a opção de servirem refeições ou ter um mini bar no quarto. Sei que descarecterizava a decoração mas era útil

• MatildePint (7/5): Os donos criaram mau ambiente e os quartos não têm ar condicionado - Foi uma experiência gira e diferente visto que não é um hotel moderno como aqueles em que costumo ficar. Foi bom mudar de ares e de estilo. Os donos do solar vivem na casa. Não me parece um comportamento adequado ou correto, sabendo que há hóspedes ali alojados, estarem a discutir e a serem agressivos no trato um com o outro. Todos os casais discutem, mas há que ter consideração pelos outros, especialmente se a casa deles está aberta a terceiros: não paguei para estar a ouvir discussões e desrespeitos!! Ainda para mais, os próprios tinham passado pela esplanada onde eu estava antes de começarem naquele disparate. Se não se sabem comportar, então não abram a casa ao turismo. Além disso, os quartos não têm ar condicionado e o wifi não funciona na zona da piscina.

• Michele (9/5): Very lovely and interesting historic building in a beautiful and quiet country setting close to town - Charming hostess and staff. Very historic house with beautiful and apt decor and furnishings. Extremely clean with large comfortable bedroom and modern ensuite and a huge guest sitting room. A breakfast spread sitting with other guests at a large table in a historic dining room. Gorgeous grounds to wander around. The place is very peaceful and quiet and very handy for driving to the National Park for hiking. Guests very much left to themselves which is lovely. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room or in the guest sitting room. We both had colds and it would have been very helpful to have had the ability to make hot drinks. The ‘menu’ says tea can be ordered for a charge but there is no one to ask for hot drinks and I think at this level of accommodation it should be included.

• Karen (10/5): Gorgeous Country Mansion Near Peneda Geres National Park. - This gorgeous old family mansion is the perfect spot to stay to enjoy the best northern Portugal has to offer. You can explore many small villages and monasteries and hike in the wonderful Peneda Geres National Park. At the end of the day, enjoy a swim in the luxurious pool with a vista of farms and vineyards. The owners of the casa justifiably take pride in the 20 generations of their family that have been stewards of this beautiful home and it’s lands. Breakfast is excellent. The wonderful Elizabeth tends to all guest needs. The village of Ponte da Barca has several nice restaurants and lovely walks along the river. Highly recommended! The only thing we wished for was that we could get more fresh air at night. We never succeeded in opening the windows.
• Alwynne (10/5): Exceptional kindness, gorgeous location and stunning set up - I cannot state how much our stay meant to us! We were traveling with our infant for the first time and all of us had gotten ill - just a cold but I was worried it was something worse! When I asked the owners for help, they went above and beyond, even accompanying my husband and I to the local doctors to translate as much as they could to help us. Our son was luckily fine, but it truly felt like we'd stayed with family and it was a huge help to us. They could not have been kinder and the room, location, setting and everything about the hotel far exceeded our expectations. It is truly a hidden gem that provides exceptional value for money but more than that, a warm, welcoming and truly kind place to stay. We are so happy we chose to stay with them and cannot thank them enough!

This time we stayed at the Queen's bedroom - it is just stunning! The breakfast is lovely and the relaxation at the swimming pool is priceless!

Oleskelumme aikana oli sateista, joten ikävä kyllä emme päässeet nauttimaan uima-altaasta, joka sijoitettu hienolle maisemapaikalle. Majatalosta hyvät yhteydet kansallispuistoon joka oli kohteemme tällä matkalla. Samprizin kylässä myös hieno "yläkylä" kirkkoineen ja vaellusreitteineen. Ensimmäinen huoneemme oli mielestämme kostea (ummehtunut haju) mutta uusi huone järjestyi joka ok. Isot yhteiset tilat käytössä mm. pelejä, sohvaryhmä ym.Isäntäväki antoi hyviä neuvoja ravintoloista ja kansallispuiston ajoreiteistä.
