Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): - Everything was great! Loved the bears in the river!
- Donna (10/5): - Enjoyed the hotel and the spacious room. The beds were very comfortable. Only negative was one of our beds squeaked.
- Tisha (10/5): - Quiet area away from the hustle of downtown. Clean, friendly and helpful staff.
- Laura K (10/5): - The property was lovely and they kindly checked us in early. It was our first time in TN and we can’t wait to visit again!
- Dana (6/5): - Clean, Convenient, and a Couple of Bears!
The room was spotless, check-in was a breeze, and the location couldn’t have been better. Traffic, however, was a different story — thankfully, the bypass saved our sanity (and possibly our marriage).
We actually spotted two bears in the creek behind the hotel our first night — a true Smoky Mountain welcome! Unfortunately, we visited during Slammedenuff weekend, so traffic was a nightmare and the kids roaming around were... let’s just say “enthusiastically obnoxious.” Still, being slightly off the main strip gave us a nice noise buffer, so nights were surprisingly peaceful.
The beds were a bit firm and the bathroom was cozy (translation: don’t drop the soap or you’ll have to exit to pick it up), but the air conditioner worked like a champ. Overall, a solid stay and definitely worth the money!
- Tanya (10/5): - Loved the room, location, and staff!!
- Sharon (8/5): - Clean, hallways were very warm but rooms were cool. The fitness center was hot, don’t think air was working and it wasn’t much bigger than a closet. Hallways are very outdated and drab. Rooms are clean and appropriately mountain-style. Overall a good place to stay.
- Tiffany (4/5): - Property seems run down compared to the last time I stayed here years ago. Needs to be cleaner also. My room was just ok.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very nice staff and convenient walking to downtown Gatlinburg.
- Lee (10/5): - Great experience
- Jennifer (10/5): - Awesome stay. Clean and well maintained
- Kim (10/5): - One of the nicest places that I’ve ever stayed in. Must get river side with balcony.
- Randall (10/5): - Great place!
- Jacob (10/5): - Very nice place!! Rooms are very clean as well! Convenient walk to the main strip just right across the street for shopping and restaurants. Will definitely be our first pick every time we vacation in Gatlinburg.
- Donna (8/5): - The property is in need of some updating and a larger dining room.
- Bobbie (10/5): - This is a great hotel.
We highly recommend it for the convenience and cleanliness.
You can walk through the parking lot and you are right on the Gatlinburg strip.
- Ricky (10/5): - Needs better handicap parking had to park to far from building
- Jaclyn (10/5): - Loved this hotel, great price and wonderful staff. Very close to the trolley pickup or walking into downtown.
- ALAN (10/5): - Excellent pools
- Bruce (10/5): - The only negative is to look out at the stream by it and see another motel looking back at you. Would still recommend it.
- Bonnie (10/5): Trip - The hotel was exceptional. The room was clean, as well as relaxing hearing the river roaring below.
The breakfast was great. The pancake machine had everyone in ah
The hotel was close proximity to town, as well as trails in the park
A great experience.
- Andrea (10/5): - Thank you for having comfortable beds! A must on vacation.
- Tracie (10/5): Amazing Service,Stunning Views & Memorable Visitor - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Bearskin Lodge on the River! The service was amazing from start to finish, and the view along the river was simply stunning. The location was perfect—tucked away from the busyness and traffic, giving us the peaceful and quiet getaway we were looking for.
One of the highlights of our trip was being joined in the evenings by a big, friendly bear who is somewhat of a local celebrity! It was such a unique and memorable experience that made our stay even more special.
We can’t recommend Bearskin Lodge enough and will definitely be coming back!
- Jason (8/5): - Nice spacious clean rooms. Free coffe and complimentary juice in the lobby. Good quiet location. Fitness room is a joke.
- Diane (10/5): - We had beautiful rooms. I wish there was at least one water Bottle in the fridge.

- Kathy (10/5): - Easy check in. Easy walk to Breakfast
- Charles R (8/5): - The staff is friendly. The property was older but maintained.
The bathroom shower and toilet area was very tight. The vanity area was open to the room if traveling with others there is no privacy for getting dressed.
- Denise (10/5): - Great property! Gatlinburg is very safe and family friendly. This property was right in the middle of everything. It had plenty of parking. Breakfast was great- even for someone that can't have gluten!
The only issue was one of the elevators was down (but this didn't cause too much of an issue).
Great stay. Will stay again.

- Ashlee (10/5): -
- Audrey (10/5): - Bearskin Lodge was a hit w/our family! The staff (Emily) was super friendly and accommodating about checking us in early, as there was a room available. She made sure we knew about about afternoon lemonade and cookies. The room was spacious and the view of the river was nice. Just the way they advertised. (Not a complaint, but wish - there somewhere to put 2 full size luggage.)
- Juan P (10/5): - Great staff!
- Sheree (10/5): - Very comfortable beds. Coffee available all the time and close to great restaurants. The view and sound from the river is pleasant. Great place to stay in Gatlinburg.
- Michael (6/5): - Room floor was dirty
- Danielle (10/5): - The property and grounds were beautiful. Close enough to the strip yet still tucked a road back. Will definitely book again.
- Guy (10/5): Nice stay in Gatlinburg - Staff pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast good, however not over the top as far as offerings go. Nice balcony on the river, it was charming to sit the an enjoy the river and its sound. Easily heard hall noises and footsteps above us from the room but not to a degree that was super annoying. The shower was A++. Nicely done with a great showerhead. Hotel is easy walking distance to all the attractions in Gatlinburg. Take the Gatlinburg bypass to get to the hotel (which is on the far end of Gatlinburg) to avoid some of the town’s congested traffic.
- purnachand (6/5): - Sleeping room is spacious however bathroom is too congested.Breakfast is terrible.
- Jeanne (10/5): - Nice place, nice pool but small. Only one washer/dryer so that was difficult. Breakfast was good but basic. Nice room.
- Chris (6/5): - The whole time we was there the pool was out of sert. The breakfast was poor. Hardly anything to choose from.
- Janet (10/5): - Loved our stay here. Would stay here again.
- Rachelle (10/5): Short friends trip - We stayed 3 nights , the balcony over the creek is awesome to listen too, fireplace was as well, beds were comfortable, all was very clean , pool was relaxing and it was within walking distance of pretty much everything on the strip in gatlinburg!
I would definitely stay again
- Christine (10/5): - Well informed, friendly and helpful staff.
Very clean
Great location
- Jennifer (10/5): - The property was beautiful and in the perfect location for a visit to Gatlinburg. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. One of our favorite activities was sitting on the balcony and listening to the river run by. Perfect stay!
- Amber (8/5): - Great location. Easy to park.
Didn’t clean room daily and breakfast was okay, not many options.
- Jerome (10/5): - We had an amazing week long stay! All the employees are super nice. Room was clean!
My only complaint is the toilet paper is horrible.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Overall great
- Alaya (10/5): - I stayed here to do some hiking in the Smoky Mountains. The location is great. It's walking distance to lots of restaurants and there is a shuttle that will pick you up right around the corner and take you into the national park. Emily ( I think that's her name. She is the blonde woman at the front desk) checked me in and was so kind and personable. She made me feel and assured I'd be safe as a solo traveller. I'll definitely stay here next time I come out.
- Fincher (10/5): - This is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here ,good place to stay
- Debra (8/5): - The hotel’s lodge theme and decor are neat. We liked the fireplace in the room. The breakfast item choices could be improved. The location was convenient to the nearby shops and restaurants.
