However, we felt a bit uncomfortable when one of the staff members was scolding their team in front of guests. We completely understand that managing staff can be challenging, but we kindly suggest handling such situations privately to maintain a pleasant atmosphere for customers.

Staff were all amazing, nothing was too much trouble - they just wanted us to be happy. Breakfast was fabulous, we didn’t eat other meals in hotel apart from a beach Buffet which was excellent - very romantic. In our first room (superior) the air conditioning was so loud we couldn’t hear the sea - the waves crashing was really loud. We were immediately offered an alternative room but having spoken to another couple we decided to upgrade. That was a great choice!

Beliggenheten var også veldig bra – kort vei til stranden, og det var gøy med både aktiviteter og treningsrom tilgjengelig. Vi benyttet oss av spa-avdelingen, som var helt fantastisk. Dyktige og profesjonelle terapeuter som virkelig kunne massasje, noe som gjorde opplevelsen ekstra avslappende. Personalet var gjennomgående hyggelige, høflige og serviceinnstilte – spesielt når det gjaldt å ta hensyn til allergiene våre. Vi er glutenallergikere og allergiske mot sjømat, og de var veldig flinke til å tilpasse både mat og oppfølging etter dette. Frokosten var også veldig god, med godt utvalg og fine smaker. Oppholdet levde dessverre ikke opp til forventningene. Rommet hadde flere utfordringer som påvirket komforten betydelig. Aircondition-anlegget var ekstremt bråkete, og dersom det ble skrudd av, ble rommet raskt fuktig og ubehagelig. Sengen var også veldig hard, noe som gjorde det vanskelig å få en god natts søvn. I tillegg var det mye støy fra omgivelsene – både trafikk og tog som passerte var godt hørbart. Selv om lyden fra AC-en overdøvet noe av dette, var den så høy i seg selv at vi måtte sove med noise cancelling. Det hjalp litt, men støyen var fortsatt merkbar. Badet var helt greit, men levde på ingen måte opp til bildene som var vist på forhånd. Generelt opplevde vi standarden som betydelig lavere enn det stedet gir inntrykk av å være. Maten var også skuffende – spesielt kjøttet, som ofte var tørt enten det var kylling eller biff.

• bob (9/5): - The staff is amazing and helpful. Great beach, pool and bar. Would recommend and we will come back. The rooms were a bit musty. Maybe some of the accommodation needs an upgrade (some paint will go a long way). But nothing really to complain.

• Oliver (7/5): Amazing place, kind and generous staff. Right next to the ocean if you want a pure relaxation stay. - The breakfast options are always amazing, as well as British food options; you can enjoy some traditional curries and traditional Sri Lankan food options. I'd recommend either the chicken curry or the fish curry! You're located right next to the ocean with hotel beds to use, unlike others who don't own their own beds next to the beach; you can use the hotel's free of charge. There are showers next to the pool for when you come out of the sea, and if your room is on the lower levels, your room walks straight out onto the sea. The staff are always exceptionally friendly and thoughtful, making sure you have everything you need. An overall beautiful stay. Nothing major at all, your perspective has to change when coming from the UK to Sri Lanka. The country has put a lot of money into raising its tourism standards, which means, unless you're staying at the higher-end hotels, you will notice smaller things like walls needing re-painting and rooms that could do with updating. But this is a small drop in a bueatiful stay.

• Indira (9/5): This was a rewarding experience - The breakfast was superb! The variety was commendable. The staff, especially Denuwan, the restaurant manager, together with the staff, was very supportive.
• Andrew (8/5): Could be better as hotel is in a lovely location - Clean and comfortable accommodation but let down by the quality of its food both at breakfast and dinner. Booked half board but ended up eating at The Cut the second night just down the road which was brilliant. Needs a little TLC too. The staff on the other hand were all so helpful.

• Majtényi (10/5): Remek - Nagyon szép tengerparti szálloda, finom, jó ételválasztékkal. A szoba kényelmes, a recepciós hölgyek rendkívül csinosak és mindenki nagyon előzékeny és kedves. A parton lévő bárban gyors harapnivalók és italok vásárolhatók. Korán reggel már lefoglalták az alkalmazottak azoknak a vendégeknek előre a napozóágyakat, akik valamilyen formában ezt honorálták. Kevés a napozóágy és az árnyékos terület a strandon. Nincs kártyaasztal a közösségi helyiségben.

• Tina (10/5): Perfekter Strandurlaub im Traumzimmer mit schönster Aussicht - Es war ein sensationeller Urlaub ( 6 Nächte im Pandanus) und rundherum perfekt! Wir hatten das Zimmer 510, wunderschön und reduziert stilvoll eingerichtet mit großer Terrasse und traumhaftem Ausblick. Das Personal superfreundlich und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Ms. Poojani, sie hat unseren Check-In gemacht und war während des gesamten Aufenthaltes extrem herzlich und großartig! Wir hatten kein All-Inclusive-Paket, aber das Frühstück, die á la carte Snacks an der Pool-Bar sowie die á la carte Drinks an der Bar waren ausgezeichnet. • Jolita (7/5): - Viešbutis buvo tvarkingas, švarus, maistas ( švediškas stalas) įvairus ir skanus, kambariai erdvūs, valomi kasdiennl, šalia jūros, kurioje galima maudytis.Vieta rami, Bentota miestelis pasiekiamas lengvai. Mes rinkomės čia praleisti- poilsiauti- paskutines 4 naktis po aktyvių kelionių po kitus Šri lankos miestelius. Kaip ir viskas gerai ramiam poilsiui, bet lyginant su kitų miestelių viešbučiais ir ten gautomis paslaugomis, kaina tikrai yra per didelė. Kituose viešbučiuose mokėjom 4-5 kartus mažiau už kambarį naktį, nors tiek maistaa buvo puikus ir kambariai buvo švarūs ir erdvūs,į personalas netgi buvo malonesnis ir lankstesnis, nes tai būdavo nedideli šeimos viešbučiai. Kai mokami tikrai nemaži pinigai, tai būtų malonu, kad vakarienei šalia maisto( švediškas stalas) būtų pateikiamas bent jau vanduo ( dabar vakarienei netgi vandenį reikia pirkti, jau nekalbant apie sultis). Visuose kituose viešbučiuose iki tol vanduo, sultys tiek vakarienės, tiek pusryčių metu buvo nemokami. Taip pat, tikrai rekomenduotumet pasitikti klientus ne su sulčių gėrimu iš parduotuvės, o su tikromis sultimis ar kokosu arba bent su arbata, arba tada bent jau su vandeniu, nes visur kitur , kur mokėjome žymiai mažiau, pasitikimas ir pirmas įspūdis buvo žymiai kokybiškesnis. Antra, lankstumas labai apribotas tvarkomis. Praseme pusryčius perkelti į pietus dieną prieš isvykimai , nes mes isvykome paskutine dieną anksti ryte į oro uostą.. Personalas atsisakė, nes pasakė , kad jie įdeda pusryčius į dėžutes ir tokių dalykų neleidžia daryti tvarkos Į Kalbant apie vaikus, tai jokių pramogų, išskyrus baseiną, viešbutyje nėra.
• Gábor (8/5): - The view from the room was beautiful, and the room was well equipped and clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and there was a huge selection. The area around the hotel is somewhat deserted, so there isn’t much to see outside the hotel—just a few restaurants, which are also empty.

The European guests took sunbeds by placing their belongings before breakfast. There were never enough sunbeds for us to use.
• Maura (9/5): Beachfront paradise - I loved the beachfront location and our room was so spacious with beautiful frontal sea view.Seating and sun chairs by the sea were readily available and the attendants were terrific. Bed was extremely comfortable and the jacuzzi bath a treat.Our anniversary was acknowledged with a chocolate cake delivered by surprise to our room. The staff were courteous and willing .We were very well looked after by every staff member we encountered.Live music on some evenings was also lovely. There were little things but nothing that took in any way from the enjoyment of our time at Pandanus.

• Pradip Kumar (8/5): A nice resort in a quiet beach area with friendly staff. The value for money can be improved. - The staff were friendly and always smiling. We were offered an upgrade to our rooms which was superb. The beachfront is clean. The swimming pool is really nice. The room service is also prompt. We used the spa and Ms. Putu was excellent with her treatment. We had taken two adjoining rooms, 219 and 220 for four in our family. The room no 220 had a few issues. The bathroom was leaking water from the sink and the air conditioner was also not functioning properly. The television had reception issues. However the management upgraded us to a higher category room after two nights (of a three night reservation). That experience was very good. Wish we had the upgrade after the first night itself. We had taken a bed and breakfast option. The buffet prices for lunch and dinner were quite expensive. We ordered a la carte instead. The staff had language issues and could not quite understand the order and we needed supervisor to double check it. The breakfast was just about good. The other problem was there are a bunch of stray dogs on the beach near the hotel that can be unnerving. It would be helpful if the resort management can keep that in mind. I am providing honest feedback but I will recommend this property to others. I saw many satisfied guests from all over the world in this property having a good time.
• Sara (7/5): Sympa! - L'hôtel est très jolie mais ce que j'ai le plus aimé c'est que les gens qui y travaillent sont très gentils et serviable!! L'hôtel est un peu isolé mais si on veut la tranquilité et une vue exceptionnel c'est l'idéal ! Le petit déjeuner était très bon aussi! J'ai trouvé les lieux commun un peu sales, surtout les vitres malheureusement, ce qui enlevait un peu de charme à l'hôtel et qui ne donnait malheureusement pas l'impression d'être dans un 5 étoiles. Les transat était extrêmement pas confortable aussi.
• Anusha (9/5): Lovely stay! Would recommend this place to friends and family and will certainly visit again - The food, location and staff. We were happily surprised to get a free upgrade of our room and also the fact that they allowed for extension of check-out as my husband fell ill! The staff was so courteous and took care of us very well The only problem we had was with the water bottles they gave us. They provided very small 400ml bottles per room and we were ordering in 4-5 extra per day. Unnecessary usage of plastic. Instead the hotel can consider placing large bottled water atleast 2l per day. Since the weather is hot you also tend to drink a lot of water!!

The bar staff Maduranga with his cocktail skills Keevasha and Noel were all attentive and efficient at their job. The whole hotel had a calm and peaceful feel about it. • Saud (10/5): Home away from home with lovely staff - All the staff I will miss them I only stayed in the hotel for one night felt like a month special thanks to Mr. Anton In charge of Front Office Dept for his professional attitude and to the smiling angel Miss Chathu waoooo what a charming lady she is definitely a valued person for the hotel. Our rooms were upgraded and we were granted late check out free of charge. We enjoyed excellent breakfast and dinner. The hotel in general is clean and comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was weak hope it will be corrected.

Would like to mention Raveesha and Heshan specially who went out of their way to facilitate at all points and made our stay a memorable one. Would certainly stay here again. Room have small tv and are very basic. Not bad have comfortable beds but for 5 star resort bit basic and lacking.

• Esther (8/5): It was very relaxing. - It is a very beautiful hotel. Our stay was very relaxing. It is very clean. Our room was very large and very comfortable. The view of the sea from the balcony was fantastic. The bathroom was very nice and modern with a Jacuzzi. The food was very good. There was always a rich buffet with a large selection of international and local dishes. The music in the evening outside the hotel was very nice. The beach was very clean and fantastic We would like to especially thank the following hotel employees, who were always very very nice, competent and helpful: Thanu, Chathu, Pooji, Matheesha, Raveesha, Fowzan, Kumara, Pubudu, Hesham.

Direction qui prend le client en otage car toujours des surprises à payer ! - L’emplacement et franchement la vue mer mais impossible de se baigner car trop de vagues violentes. Séjour très décevant : personnel peu accueillant et surtout tourné vers la vente de services/boissons. Hôtel en mauvais état, installations vieillissantes, nourriture médiocre. Chambres mal entretenues avec des mouches (manque d’hygiène). Bruit insupportable dès 5h à cause des trains derrière l’hôtel + route très passante et klaxons. Plage petite, transats en bois abîmés et insuffisants : obligation de se lever vers 6h pour en réserver. Rapport qualité-prix très mauvais, je ne recommande pas.

We didnt agree with the compulsory 125$ each for xmas eve buffet, definitely overpriced. Bathroom was tired and in need of renovation for the price of the room expected higher quality. When asked to fill out the hotels rating experience the staff read it as soon as I handed it in while I stood there which felt uncomfortable and they questioned it. One of the ladies had asked me to give it a 10 out of 10 ! and asked me to mention her name in the review.

The hotel had live music in the evenings and planned activities during the day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and dinner buffet was very extensive. We also had a double room for our family. This room was dated and old. Needs a refresh

Warm and cooperative staff who is ready to meet your expectations of a comfortable staff. Special shout out to Chathu, Thanu, Pooji, Upul and Kumara for their excellent hospitality. The hotel is placed strategically next to a clean and quite beach. The swimming pool adds to the cosy ambience of the hotel. I would highly recommend this stay to all the travelers who are thinking of staying in Bentota area. Well, I simply cant think of anything bad about this hotel.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the entire property is well-maintained and very pleasant. The biggest advantage, however, is the staff — incredibly friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. The reception team ( Chathu Thanu Nayomi)was extremely kind and flexible, allowing us to check out late, which was a great convenience. You can feel the hospitality and genuine care for guests at every step. This is definitely a place worth recommending, and I would be happy to return during my next visit to Sri Lanka.

• Julia (3/5): Exécrable - Pas grand chose. Cet hôtel a sûrement eu de beaux jours, mais malheureusement cette époque est révolue. La chambre été très défraîchie et une odeur d’égout y régnait. Elle était également très mal isolée puisque nous avons été réveillées toute la nuit par les bruits de passage dans les couloirs. Quelle ne fut pas notre surprise de découvrir en rentrant nous coucher, un cafard d’une taille impressionnante dans la chambre ! Par ailleurs, nous avons déjeuné à l’hôtel et avons été malades toute la nuit qui a suivie. Le Petit déjeuner était également d’une qualité très médiocre. Nous avons souligné ces désagréments à la direction le lendemain matin et nous n’avons pu bénéficier d’aucun geste commercial. Nous avons même dû payer le repas qui nous a rendu malades ! Bref, passez votre chemin, il y a beaucoup mieux et moins cher dans le voisinage. En deux semaines au Sri Lanka, le Pandanus a été notre uniquement mauvaise expérience. À fuir !
• Allison (10/5): - Our stay here was truly wonderful, from our warm welcome by staff, Poojani on reception made sure we were well cared for, and Kumara the bellboy, everyone was do lovely and the service was exceptional. Our rooms were incredible, comfortable and perfectly clean. We highly recommend a stay here for the incredible experience.

• Vanessa (8/5): - Good beach even though the waves are too high to swim. We got a really nice free upgrade to an amazing room - thanks! It might not be obvious to everyone but this is an all inclusive resort so you should expect the Germans to cover the best chairs at the pool before breakfast. The food from the a la carte menu is not good, while the buffet is nice. There are some activities like waterball that might be anyoing sometimes if you are looking for peace and quite. Many comments say the resort is a bit older - which is true and can be seen at the furniture but it did not bother me as erything is still cozy and clean.
• Ananya (4/5): Great location but the experience will surely be destroyed by pathetic hospitality - The location of the property right on the beach is fantastic. The restaurant (both staff and food) were also top notch. The Staff went out of their way to make vegetarian items for us and were extremely accommodative in all aspects. The breakfast and lunch spread was also quite good covering a wide variety of cuisines (continental, sri lankan) The main desk / reception staff was one of the rudest and least helpful staffs I have seen in many years. It seems like they are focused on running a business and maximizing their profits, not on ensuring their guests have a good stay. One of many examples - we had 3 rooms booked for 1 night and we requested a slightly delayed check out (2pm instead of 12pm) for 2 of the rooms, a day in advance. One of the reception staff said it should be possible, but then never got back. At 12pm sharp the next day we were confronted by a woman at the reception who demanded we hand in our room keys. After telling her of our conversation with her colleague, she said we had till 12.30 to vacate the 2 rooms, otherwise we will be charged USD 50 for each room and they will incrementally charge more the more time we take to vacate the rooms. She even sold us a story about how the 2 inter-connected rooms were to be given to a family who were checking in at 1, and that was the only set of inter-connected rooms. We found out later this was a complete lie - nobody checked into those rooms and they were completely vacant the entire day and night. The above is just one of many instances where the front desk was extremely rude, unprofessional, and not befitting of the hospitality industry.

• Linda (8/5): entspannter Urlaub - Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand. Langer toller Sandstrand. (Leider konnten wir aufgrund hoher Wellen nicht ins Meer). Das Personal war stets freundlich. Das Essen war immer sehr lecker. Das Hotel liegt zwar direkt am Stand, aber etwas ausserhalb des Geschehens. Einige Renovationsarbeiten wären nötig. Manchmal hatten sei einige Drinks der Karte nicht, was schade war.

• Jayasinghe (9/5): Excellent - The room was spacious and comfortable, instantly setting a relaxed mood. My excitement soared when I discovered it came with a jacuzzi. The balcony opened to a serene view, the perfect spot to unwind with a book while gazing at the distant horizon. The beach in front of the hotel was almost deserted, making it ideal for peaceful evening walks. The pool was impressively large, framed by trees that created a picturesque backdrop and added a touch of natural elegance to every photo. The menu lacked variety, with only a limited selection of meat dishes. A wider range would have enhanced the overall dining experience. On a positive note, the à la carte menu offered several well-prepared options at reasonable prices, providing good value. However, one drawback was that the room was not cooled adequately, as the air conditioning could not be adjusted to a lower temperature.
