Guest Reviews
- Brent (2/5): - Place sucked bad.
- Heather (6/5): - I stayed there with my girls and was a little uneasy with other guests hanging out and making noise in the hallway. The ceiling in our room had some water damage. It was okay but will probably not be back
- Craig (8/5): - 2nd stay and both great
- SUSAN (8/5): - The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was fine. The bathroom appeared to be updated. The lobby and halls need to be updated.
- Krystal (8/5): - The service was great. The room was clean, the bed wasnt great at all. Rhe bed was horrible but you could feel the dip in it. I was tired and was able to sleep on the opposite side so it worked out. The price i paid was excellent.
- Mike (4/5): - Hotel needs updated and some type of breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): No Breakfast: Change the listing to reflect that. - The listing said that there is a complimentary continental breakfast. There was only coffee. We were also disappointed that the pool was closed, "under maintenance." Looked like it has been under maintenance for some time. The room was clean though. Only 2 bath towels in our room.
- Tom (6/5): - A little run down but for 1 night it was fine.
- Richard (8/5): - This hotel was nice for the price. It was well kept, clean and simple. The only negative I have is that the lobby furniture was dirty and stained needing cleaning or replacing as cement. Overall the hotel was nicer than I expected and I will stay here again.
- Roberta (8/5): - Clean ,quite,staff helpful.
- jodi (8/5): - The best thing was the person at the desk named Kamal. He was immensely, helpful and kind and very attentive to our needs. Thank you.
- John (10/5): - People who work there are fantastic! Very clean rooms . The interior paint and carpet makes you think your living in the 70’s but if you can get over that it’s a great 2 star property
- Charles (8/5): - --
- McKenzie (2/5): - Weird smell in room
- kalli (8/5): Fine - A little run down but quiet and clean
- Verified traveler (2/5): Smoking - The entire building smelled of smoke. You couldn't stand walking down the hallway because of the smell.
The room was fine. The smell wasn't terrible in the room.
The beds were really comfortable though.
- Margaret (8/5): - It's a budget motel that met our needs.
- Margaret (10/5): - Our first time here but we will definitely keep it in mind for the future
- Paul (6/5): - Needs to be updated no $ has been put into the property to maintain it
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfect budget stay - One night stay. In late, out early. Room was spacious, basic, clean. Good value!
- Edward (8/5): - The room was quiet that was good, didn’t like that the pool wasn’t working and empty. Oh well !
- Loni (6/5): - Coffee pot didn’t work well in the reception area sometimes you would get coffee and sometimes not and there was no decaf coffee at all. It came out as hot water. This is the third year staying here and the pool is always closed!!! The room was fine.
- Suzanne (6/5): - The lobby carpet and chairs were stained. The Continential breakfast was Cherrios and Froot Loops and some danish. The pool was closed.
- Jasmine (8/5): - Elevator was dangerous the carpeting was not laid down, my friend tripped over it a few times getting on and off, scared for my Mom who used a walker. Pool was closed. Otherwise we did enjoy our stay and thankyou very much
- Bobby (8/5): - Ok
- Thomas (10/5): - Great value for a basic motel. I stay here often
- Dan (6/5): - Property clean
- David (8/5): - Reasonably priced for the area. Could use some refurbishing.
- Suzanne (8/5): - The refrigerator’s noise was ridiculously loud and high pitched. An order of spilled, mashed French fries was in the parking lot when we checked in and when we left.
- Susan (2/5): - This property was groess and very noisy! People screaming and yelling all night. Party’s in several rooms around us! The elevator was very scary and disgusting! There was carpet cut too small and placed with duck tape over the other carpet in elevator. Hallways were very dirty, and bad Oder! Would NEVER stay here again. They also asked us to tell Expedia that we didn’t stay there so that they could collect the full payment and not have to pay Expedia.
- Jessica (8/5): - The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable! It was close to so many food options in walking distance. It was a disappointment to see the pool was still out of service.
- luvculeb (2/5): In extreme disrepair - needs some TLC - Clearly and sadly, this hotel is in extreme disrepair. Bathroom: door framing warped so door couldn't close, warped ceiling tiles, mismatched faucet handles, cold water turns on in either direction, exhaust fan operates too loudly to use (sounds like metal on metal), dirty walls. Room: holes in carpet, worn paint, broken light fixture, pillows as thin as pancakes, missing security prevention device on door, inoperable hot tub with a ironing board placed in it to prevent usage, no coffee maker. Common area: smelled heavy of Indian food, carpet dirty and worn so thin it's rippling, pool closed for "maintenance" (but judging by other reviews it seems it's been closed since January of 2023).
- Mary (6/5): - This property was in a pretty decent location not far from the I 35 freeway. They graciously let us check in early as we were there due to attending a wedding nearby. That allowed us a chance to clean up and dress for the wedding after our car ride.
- Brandon (8/5): - Cool
- Pamula (10/5): Over night stay - The room was nice, clean and comfortable
- Verified traveler (2/5): Avoid - Location could not process payment, took 3 days to actually push it through. The entire property had a stench. Just an overall fly-by-night location with no organization whatsoever.
- Michael (10/5): - Very clean and reasonably priced
- Daniel (6/5): - Zero amenities. No breakfast, pool didn’t work, no breakfast or even coffee, even the vending machines didn’t work. Also bad water pressure and lukewarm water in the shower
- Alison (4/5): - Hotel smelled, carpet dirty, all vending and ice machines were broken, bad water pressure. Check in staff was friendly and helpful, bedding clean.
- Gail (10/5): - Older hotel so carpet was old and worn. Comfortable stained. Management was very considerate and accommodating. It appears there is some remodeling in process so I assume these conditions will be improved soon. Expedia quoted us $60 more then the hotel actually charged us. Pleasantly surprised.
- fawn (6/5): - Had to unplug refrigerator. Noise was unbearable. When shower running pipess howled.
- Ronald (4/5): - The room was not supplied with enough Kleene's or toilet paper. There was no stopper in the bathroom sink. The halls smelled like smoke.
- Kelly (8/5): - The rooms are adequate but the pool has not been accessible when I've stayed there.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - IT WAS OBVIOUS THEY NEED A REMODEL . OUR BATH FAN WAS TOTALLY RIPPED OUT AND HOLE WAS JUST LEFT OPEN.CARPET THROUGHT WAS DIRTY IN HALLS AND ELEVATOR, BUT CARPET IN OUR ROOM WAS FINE. OUR ROOM WAS OK - JUST COULD NOT USE CEILING FAN THAT WAS NOT THERE! ALSO THE POOL WAS CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE, AND I BET IT HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR A LONG TIME.
- Denise (4/5): - I would not stay here again.
- Robin (8/5): - Rooms have been updated and repainted giving a more updated look.
- robin (10/5): - Another late check-in
Staff was friendly
Room was clean and comfortable
- Kathy (10/5): Biz trip - Hotel is older but very clean and comfortable. Worked welll for a one night stay (business trip). Close to freeway. Pool was down for maintenance
- robin (10/5): - Late check-in
Staff was available
Room was clean
No parking issues
- Larry (8/5): Improved - Our first time. From what I'd heard from friends experiences prior, I had my fingers crossed. Reviews from a year ago plus weren't great overall for cleanliness. Dead bugs was the issue mostly. But more recent reviews were improved. And they have. Though dated, the room was decent and good size. Fridge and microwave provided, but no in-room coffeemaker or amenities with it. Counter space is limited for that. For the money, it worked. Thumbs up for improvements.
- Joanne (8/5): - It was good. Inexpensive and close to area attractions.
- JULIE (4/5): - The hotel really needs to do some updates. Everything is old, dirty and run down. The exterior looks nice but the inside is not. The pool is closed for maintenance, but has been closed all spring & summer. And no continental breakfast is offered anymore. The people are very nice though.
- Timothy (10/5): - Easy access from freeway, close to several eating options, and the lady at the front desk was pleasent and helpful.
- Paul (8/5): - Very comfortable bed. Shower lacking pressure, wouldn’t even hit the back wall to rinse soap off. Swing I was there staying for work, I was dirty and needed a shower badly. I will look somewhere else because of this.
- Suzanne (4/5): - Unlike most motels they demanded payment at check in. Their breakfast area was tiny and very limited.
- Verified traveler (8/5): would stay again - easy to find, easy parking, no frills. Easy check-in. Pool was not in working order. three floors with elevator.
carpeting rough but room felt clean enough. Bathroom has fan, shower was a little smaller shoulder width than most hotels. a/c works great. quiet enough area and rooms. Beds were on the softer side and had a few pillow options. no frills breakfast. Would stay here again, decent value for location.
- Jowdell (8/5): 4.5 out of 5 - The hotel was great, the only downfalls the pool was down, but I didn't notice there was a pool when booked so not really a downfall. Main downside was I could not readjust the shower head but that was it. I could not adjustit from where it was pointed. They bed was way more comfortable than most others. Way better than my own currently. I had booked 2 rooms and my mom loved the bed as well. Loved having a bath tub as its been ages for her.
- Helen (10/5): - Convenient access. Efficient check in.
- Helen (10/5): - Staff was friendly and check in was efficient. Nice room.
- Alicia (8/5): - Nice people and stores nearby
- Verified traveler (8/5): What did I pay for - Room was clean but very dated. Needs some TLC. Quiet location and area has restaurants and gas stations close by. Could use something for breakfast besides old coffee. The price was a bit much for what we got. I wouldn't stay here again.
- dave (10/5): - Easy access to food , gas and entertainment. Price was right and room was pleasant but not updated
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cheap friendly staff Easy stay - Place was very clean efficient with easy access to rooms & everything else
Pool was down for maintenance but that wasn't a deal breaker. Complimentary breakfast would've been great.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - It was great!
- Tammy (8/5): - Nice place to stay for the night
- Jennifer (8/5): - It was a nice location and better than we expected
- Verified traveler (8/5): No Pool and Duct Taped Carpet - This is your standard low budget hotel. There is no pool. It will be months or longer before it is fixed although there is a huge sign out front that claims they do have a pool. The room had dead spiders and sticky flat surfaces but the bedding was clean. Carpet was gross and there was a chunk of carpet duct taped over the old carpet in the elevator. The room set up was comfortable and we had enough space to place all of our things. The screen was torn in the window but the ac and heat both worked wonderful. The parking lot was large and well lit up. The walls were thin and we were awoke at 5 am by people walking around above us. These weren’t noisy kids, just people getting ready for the day. There was also a large bulge in our ceiling. It looked as if someone did a DYI repair over a sprinkler or something?!? You can see it over the bed in the pictures. Overall the location is perfect for what we needed. We would likely stay here again but only because the price is fairly low. Our expectations are not very high.
- John (10/5): - It was quiet nice room had Breakfast plan s with family so didn't have the breakfast
- Debra (6/5): - Price was good, girl at check-in was very nice and polite.
- gordon (8/5): - No smoking no pets
- Lisa (4/5): - The staff was excellent. Property was rundown and dirty. I wish I would have taken pics but it was pretty gross. Even the walls were dirty. The mattresses were a joke they were so mushy. Got out as fast as we could.
- Dale nelson r (8/5): - It's quite
- Steve (10/5): - Quiet, friendly
No breakfast
- Danielle (10/5): - Everything was fine
- John (6/5): - Dead bugs in window sills in eating area. Grotesque carpet in elevator, scant employees. Needs new interior painting in common areas. Week continental breakfast. Otherwise worth the $95/night.
- Patricia (8/5): - Stay was acceptable
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not worth its price - When i arrived at the hotel i was told they hadnt received my reservation yet. I had received a confirmation email prior to arriving at the front desk. Ended up waiting for a half hour before i could check in. The room wasnt very clean, the heat light and fan in the bathroom didnt work either.
- Cathleen (6/5): - Rooms were clean. In much need for updated counters, carpets, paint, etc. Caution, the manager at desk takes and copies drivers license. Never had any hotel/motel do this. Other hotels/motels only look at license and I've never needed to surrender your license. Should change the policy. What are you doing with our licenses? How do I really know you are only confirming my ID. You can look a the license to confirm my picture and ID.
- Maiken (8/5): - Nice and clean
- Jill (8/5): - For the cost, it was a good value- clean room, quiet and close to the interstate. Plenty of parking availability. For the cost, it didn't have any frills but that was not needed for our stay. The elevator floor was dirty and the carpet in many areas could be replaced but the room was clean and check in was fast.
- Kurt (6/5): - Older hotel needs updating, carpet and paint. Seems as though owners live on first floor.
- Natalie (10/5): Convenient and clean - I'm surprised the reviews for this place aren't better. For the price paid, my stay exceeded expectations. It's definitely no frills with outdated decor, but the room was clean and comfortable, the location was greatt, and I had a good night's sleep.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great value. Pleasant staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Second stay. Very quiet and excellent for a great nights rest.
Kind staff.
Priced affordable....great stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Location was good. Staff was ok. Carpet was terrible. Room was fairly clean just overall condition of room was poor. Pool was closed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - convenient location
a little dinged up
- Verified traveler (8/5): - What I liked the most about this hotel was:
1. Location to interstate.
2. Appeared to be family owned and operated.
3. Rooms, towels etc were clean.
4. New door locks.
What I liked least was a few things, but could be fixed simply
1. Elevator carpet is filthy
2. Old dirty furniture in entry way
3. Dirty windows.
4. Room was not ready at 3:30pm
Suggestions.
1 Get replacement carpet in elevator
2. Get new furniture in entry way
3. Wash the windows.
4. Wash the carpets
5. Get pool fixed ASAP.
6. There is no need to have a breakfast..bag breakfast with coffee to go.
It is a very simple sleep and go hotel. Not a bad thing...but cleanliness goes a LONG way with travelers....
- Michael (4/5): Poor Hotel High Price. - The online booking stated ammen8ties as swimming pool and free breakfast. Neither were available. When i asked about the Pool, he statedit was down for maintenance, except according to a former resident of North Branch, it has been down for maintenance for 2 years. I inquired about what time breakfastwould be availabe he stated they dont have a breakfast because due to COVID (which is over now), the Health Department has not cleared Hotels, even though other hotels in the area serve breakfasts. This person kept claiming it was the fault of MN Health Dept. This hotel, as of June 1st, 2021 raised their rates from $70.00 per night to $90.00 per night. I requested a Senior Citizen Discount as advertised when I booked the room, but was refused this discount. I askedwhy and this person asked if i booked online, which I stated, I did, he stated that i could not have the Senior Citizen Discount. I askedhim why and he stated then the price is the price. No Discount was applied at the time of booking. So even though the Discount was offered, there was no discount. I inquired about a Restaurant in thevacinity and all he could recommend was McDonals. I got the impression he had no clue as to what was in this city/town for restaurants. Very poor. The room was comfortable but over all the $90.00 per night too much. Very Disappointed. In the future I'll stay at AmericInn.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Liked the ease of access, the elevator and price. Didn't like the that carpet in the public hallways seems to have been last cleaned pre-Covid.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Pool was closed for maintenance. Hotel room wasn't ready at check in. Hotel room had cob webs in all the corners. Hotel did not have any breakfast available when it states that it does on the website.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very outdated in every way you can think of microwave missing told I'd get one never did told almost sold out empty every day
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was a nice motel. It was handy located for us. We was running the kitchen @ Northwest Saddle Club.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was dirty and stinky
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There were no hangers in the room...no courtesy info regarding services of the facility...only saw staff when we checked in. No one was at desk when we left in the morning. Room was very sparse & tired but clean. Said breakfast was provided but we didn't see anything set out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean and service was great! Beds were very comfortable and room was very clean. Prices are very reasonable. I enjoyed my stay here. Also love that they have a elevator cuz i have bad knees.
- James (8/5): A nice low cost hotel - Room was clean although the decor was out dated. Still had a nice in room tv
- Brenda (8/5): Okay for the money - Found a toy truck in the room. Otherwise room appeared clean. Pool was closed as it was our last stay here. Smelled like fried food throughout the building.
- richard (2/5): A bad place to stay. bad service. Dirty - No breakfast as promised. Dirty entryway. No coffee machine in the room. It smelled bad in the hallway. No one behind the counter. i'll never stay there again even if they paid me to stay there. Id sleep in my truck before I stay there.
- James (4/5): Budget - There was no pool and no breakfast as promised in the reservation I made.
In addition, the place was not kept up at all. Lobby was horrible, carpets were very stained.
It did look like they re-did our room thought as the room was very nice (clean carpet, spacious).
- Lyle (4/5): - Was not friendly at check in, property smelt of cigarette smoke, carpets were dirty even in hallways and elevator.
