Guest Reviews
- Kenny (6/5): - Advertise continental breakfast and there is none due to change in owners, casino being built next door prob has something to do with it! The rooms are big though and it was quiet which is nice!
- David (2/5): - Even though I had a confirmation number from Orbitz, they did not have me on the list of registered guests, so I ended up going to a different hotel. This was not the staff's fault, and they were good to talk with.
- Donna (4/5): - AC worked well seemed pet friendly.
- Michael (2/5): - Terrible service
- David (8/5): - We stayed in a refurbished room, that except for a few minor blemishes was large, clean, and very nicely appointed! The colors and furniture were better than they have every been. We really enjoyed this stay.
- Tania (10/5): - Clean, easy parking, convenient for my needs and absolutely beautiful view from my window!
- Barbara Jane (10/5): - Best Customer Service & cleanliness of rooms!
- Janet (4/5): - On arrival, there was a note on the door to phone someone for checkin. The guy showed up as I was making the call. I’ll check in. I asked about the hot tub, but was told it was cold which it was. Had to ask for the Wi-Fi password which he got off his phone. Also asked about breakfast and he said there was none. We got to our and found a large piece of bread from the bathroom sink. I found a guy cleaning a room and told him about it. He went to the room and tried to grab it. It fell apart in 2 pieces and cut him. I also check the TV later because I was unable to use it and after 20 minutes, he couldn’t get it figured out either. We were given another room that was clean and comfortable, but I never did find a way to turn the tv off. Check out was the same as checking in. I handed the key to the guy that was cleaning another room.
- David (8/5): - Advertised Continental breakfast not available.
No hangers in the wardrobe.
- Julia (8/5): - Good stay.
- TED (8/5): Nice place to stay! - This was a convenient place to stay while visiting the gold country and the wineries. The room was good, and the service was fine. The only downside was that the pool was full of leaves, and the hot tub was broken. Otherwise, would recommend this hotel.
- ELIZABETH (6/5): - Although newly decorated, room was not cleaned on daily basis, Had to request more towels 3 times. I spilt water on the floor and used a towel to mop it up, was not a clean floor! Base boards dusty. No longer serving breakfast.
- Charlotte (8/5): - Close to everything we needed.
- Mitchell (2/5): - I don’t leave reviews EVER but first off I called the property 7 times and only three of those times I had someone answer and all three times I was told they would call me back in regards of checking in early and I never got a call back so that was already frustrating although we figured out an alternative plan since we never were able to check in early. Next we get in our room and the TV doesn’t work and then try to shower and the shower head doesn’t work. When you pull the tab for the water to come out the shower head it doesn’t come out so we bathe ourselves with faucet water. It’s frustrating paying $200/ night for no TV and no shower and then to top it all off the walls are PAPER THIN. You can every single move and step the room above you makes and we didn’t get much sleep since we heard them all night and couldn’t have no TV as background sound to drown out the noise. Spend the extra $50 and go stay at Jackson Rancheria!!
- Viviana (2/5): - Canceling my reservation without notice was probably not the best.
- Mario (2/5): - Terrible customer service
- Monika (2/5): - Beware. Do NOT stay here. Property changed hands and is under construction and no services like breakfast, coffee. Pool so filthy unusable. Very shady, cannot get a hold of mgr or office.
- Mary (8/5): Wonderful welcome - Wonderful stay! Comfortable bed, very clean room and bathroom. Brand new furniture
“Effie” was kind enough to allow an early check in which was nice as I arrived early to meet my family at County Fair.
- Cynthia (4/5): Changing ownership and construction underway - I booked this for a girls trip and did a test stay prior. At that time I requested 2 rooms next to each other on the side of the hotel with the nice view for the girls trip a month later. I was told we would have room numbers 215 and 216 which were perfect. We arrived for this stay and the parking lot was full of boxes of staged furniture and the hotel is under construction. We were given 2 rooms on the opposite side than what I had requested and they were not next to each other. That was disappointing, but the worst part was the construction crews all over the place, the lack of parking, the hot tub was not heated and the desk clerk didn’t know how to turn the heat on. Over a week later, the manager finally returned my call and was apologetic about the timing of the construction. Apparently the new casino that is being built next to the inn has bought the inn and is taking it over. If I had been warned that construction was going to be going on, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere.
- Lourdes (10/5): - The staff was friendly and helpful and considering the age of the property, it was very clean. The rooms were huge and they all had a pretty view of the field behind the property. This property was conveniently located near a wedding venue we were headed to. It was not fancy but it was very clean.
- julie (8/5): - I like that it had a pool and that it was clean unfortunately heater inoperable in hot tub. property is conveniently located and newly landscaped. We were informed the fitness room was closed due to recent change of management. Hope the amenities mentioned will be up and running during my next visit. Thank you.
- Courtney (10/5): Amazing - Had the best time here. When I booked this it was originally the cheapest place in the area so I was nervous but it absolutely BLEW me away. All the employees were incredibly nice and helpful. We met the GM, our rooms were clean, the pool was clean, I went by myself with 3 kids and they totally were helpful.
- Leon (6/5): - Room was very nice, but it had no bath soap. I had to go to front desk to get some.
Only a Continental breakfast and it started late at 8am
- Ann (10/5): - Check in and out was fast. Room was clean.
- Cynthia (10/5): Great location - The view from the property is beautiful. Nice place to stay when enjoying the wineries in the area.
- Nancy (6/5): - Nice room but air conditioner very nooisy
- Terry (4/5): - Dead flies on the floor, window left wide open and we couldn’t close it. Had the old aluminum windows. Had to have someone come and close it. Needs some major updates especially for the price.
- Craig (6/5): - The property appears to be undergoing remodeling. Often the desk was unattended. The toilet tank filled very slowly.
- Elise (8/5): - I love this area. The hotel is on process of redoing all its landscaping and remodeling its rooms so it was not very pretty but the view from my room was nice. Construction did start by 8am. The staff were lovely. If you don't mind renovations in progress it does the job of a very nice room with convenience to the wine country.
- Sonia (4/5): - Needs a lot of work in the outside, did not clean rooms, it was clean and people were friendly and nice.
- Ed (4/5): Property Under Construction - Property under construction no landscaping. No access to pool or any of the facilities advertized. No one there. No landscaping. Room was comfortable. That was all that was ok. Continental breakfast was old and stale. All packaged foods.
- ELIZABETH (10/5): Plymouth, Amador County - Lovely hotel in Amador county. Affordably priced with nice amenities. Close to the 48 vineyards in Plymouth.
- Kenneth (4/5): Terrible stay - The room was not clean, floors were dirty including the bathroom
- Mary Ann (10/5): - The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean and the view was beautiful.
- charles (2/5): Very bad. - This place should not be open. The exterior landscaping was under repairs and it was a mess. The pool and hot tub were closed and full of dirt. The A/C didn't work and we had to change rooms after unpacking. The so-called breakfast area didn't have coffee cups and the choices were laughable. We cancelled the second night's reservations and left.
- David (8/5): - If you are looking for a clean safe place and very nice people.
This is your place but it is a no frills. The area is amazing and this hotel is centrally located.
- Asia (6/5): - Showed up at 4:30 to check in and the rooms were not ready yet.
- Julia (10/5): - Great place with a stunning view!
- Cyndy (10/5): Friendly Folks - Had to cancel. Did not stay here. The owners were extremely easy to work with and very nice
- Joey (10/5): - It was great for me and my wife and child. Thanks
- Debra (10/5): - I was very impressed with the property. Quiet and off the highway, safe and clean. The staff (Jessie) was super nice and helpful whenever we needed to ask her something. The view from our room was a plus and the room was a nice size. Bed super comfy. All in all no complaints at all. Thank you so much for a nice laid back atmosphere!!!
- Rick (10/5): - close to the wineries
- Gail (10/5): - This property was clean and comfortable and close to many activities to do in the area. The hot tub was supposed to be open until 10 and they closed it at seven which we were a little disappointed in that. Otherwise, we will definitely come back to this hotel. We were very satisfied.
- Carlene (10/5): Great quiet hotel! - Wonderful quiet hotel with amazing views of a field with cows and birds. We stayed one night while on a trip to Amador County.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hotel in the Amador wine country! Quick family stay for the holidays. Breakfast is toast and muffins. The lobby was closed Christmas Eve and Christmas so if you need anything such as a room key you are out of luck. Pool and hot tub had no lights so very dark but worked.
- Angel (10/5): - I loved my stay the service was amazing the rooms were HUGE I went for my wedding and had an amazing time
- Molly (8/5): Spacious, clean room - Room was spacious and clean. The continental breakfast was nothing special…so don’t choose this hotel because of the breakfast. It was conveniently located off the highway, but still quiet. I would stay again if I needed the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was AMAZING!!
- Maria (2/5): - Need, better lights and elevators
- Erich (4/5): - Hotel was ok. Someone threw up all over the second floor. And also threw up over the balcony on to cars below. The throw up was not cleaned up and stayed on the stair well and second floor hallway the next day.
- Eli (6/5): - The place is immaculate. The internet hookup was poor and the breakfast bar was sparse. The staff was very kind and friendly.
- Mia (10/5): - Very nice, quiet Inn. Staff at the front desk was very friendly and even recommended a nice breakfast spot that we ended up loving! Thank you for such a nice stay
- Judith (10/5): - It is always super clean.
- Debbie (4/5): - no place to hang out in the evening, pool closed early. No hotel restaurant, we were hungry at 9pm, nothing to eat except gas station across the street. HOT in summer, no shade in parking lot. Staff great, clean but outdated.
- Vernon L. (8/5): - Close to Lake Pardee
- Stephanie (10/5): - Clean and quiet, staff very friendly
- Charles (10/5): - Staff was excellent and helpful !
- Kevin (6/5): - Exterior is looking a bit worn and we thought we had a faulty toilet, but we just had to get used to its quirkiness. The young woman at the front desk was very nice.
- Charles (10/5): - Great place to stay
- LEOPOLDO (10/5): - Very clean and nice rooms
- Mark (6/5): - Price point was high for the product advertised. Breakfast was very minimal
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Was informed at check-in that because I booked through hotels.com I was being charged a higher rate than if I had booked directly, and was told the higher price “included the government’s cut.” Weird way to begin. I booked a king room and instead was given a room with two queens. My bed was so saggy and creaky that it woke me several times in the night. Pillows rock hard. The AC did not maintain a consistent temperature in the room so we ended up having to open the window in the middle of the night. When showering half the water went down the drain instead of coming out of the shower head. When the patron on the floor above us was showering, our room became too loud to even converse without raising our voices. Points for cleanliness, but otherwise I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
- Carol (10/5): - The best part about it was the cow view. Conveniently located, well-built, clean.
- Ralph (10/5): - The staff was very nice and the rooms were spacious! Very convenient location in proximity to the Amador wineries.
- Rhonda (10/5): - The only thing was there were no restaurants
- Victor (10/5): - Nice Place to stay close by the winery
- Kristy (10/5): - We stayed at this hotel for high school rodeo. The rooms are oversized, every amenity you would need is in the room and the hotel is very clean.
- LaRae (10/5): - Easy check in and check out
- Susan (8/5): - Overall stay was good, however we had to wait on person to show up from home to get checked in. Left for the day, and returned later in evening.
We stayed for two nights and asked for more coffee to be put on the room to make the next morning, and they never did. So left feeling disappointed that we were not a priority to them. There was very few guests so they were not busy at all.
- Jaclyn (8/5): - Very clean hotel. We had a nice stay but we wish the beds were comfier.
- Cortni (8/5): - Beautiful surroundings.
- Vickie (10/5): - It is an older building and you can see signs of the need to replace some wood etc, but I am picky and it was no big deal at all. It was clean, quiet, comfortable beds, nice people running it. They offer a complimentary breakfast but we could only eat the eggs, we are carb free. Bananas would be nice. Would stay there again!
- Kathy (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and staff was very accommodating. Definitely we highly recommend
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We stayed at the Shenandoah Inn for 2 nights to attend a wedding close by. As far as a review, here is what was good: friendly staff, beautiful views (we had a ground floor King room), NO CARPET Yay!!, the little extras that were provided if needed (tooth brushes, shampoo, razor, lotion, makeup remover wipes). Here is what needs improvement: Our bed was NOT comfortable (although other reviews said that theirs was comfy), the mini fridge needed to be defrosted and had visible mold, when we walked in the room there was a very strong smell of cleaner (probably Pinesol), the continental breakfast was just OK but there were only a few small tables.
This hotel has great potential. My first thought when we drove up was that it looks tired and needs updating. The exterior needs paint and the grounds need plants/flowers etc.
I don't usually write reviews, but felt that the owners are trying to update a little at a time. My comments are suggestions for improvement as a frequent traveler.
Overall, the hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the views are fantastic.
- Marguerite (8/5): A nice find in Plymouth! - This was our first stay at Shenandoah Inn. We were in Plymouth to attend an event at a local winery and didn't want to make the 2 hour drive home late at night, so we took a chance on this hotel. The lobby could use some updating and freshening up but the staff was friendly. Our room was spacious and very clean - fresh paint, newer furnishings, comfy bed.
- alicia (6/5): - In order to get help you have to go find the room attendant. Hot tub was lukewarm and dirty, it even had a nail in it. Pool was not heated and there was no hot water at 10pm. Disappointing and unacceptable for $200 a night
- Elke (6/5): - The rooms are nice. I is a little remote. Staff doesn’t answer the phone and we couldn’t figure out if the windows open. But assuming they didn’t but it seems like they should have. But you can’t get a hold of the front desk.
- David (8/5): - Bill at the check in counter was very personable.
- Shreenivas (10/5): - The property was great. Just make sure to arrange for arriving later than 7 PM as they may need to make alternative arrangements.
- Shirley (10/5): - We had a wonderful time! It was close to the event that we were attending in Ione, CA.
- Peter (8/5): Nice - Nice, comfortable place to stay. Basic amenaties.
We would go back.
- Wendell (4/5): - 1. Hoel photo ad was different from actual, and it was disappointing.
2.The high cost/price was not matching the overall service, amenities, location of the hotel.
3. The breakfast they were promoting was not a breakfast that was a scam.
- Charles (10/5): - V
- Dawn (8/5): - Hot/cold water in shower was not working well. Property was easily accessible from the main road. Close to a gas station and market place.
- theresa (10/5): - The rooms and pool area had a beautiful view out over the hills. Very clean, comfortable beds, great patio.
- Rita (10/5): - The staff was especially warm and welcoming. It was almost as if they were welcoming us into their home.
- Philomena (8/5): - Personeel very nice. Morning breakfast alway available. The only problem was trying to open the door on each entry. Hardware or doors need som adjusting. Had to get someone assist on that problem. Toilets far to lw. should be higher other than those two complaints it was a lovely scenic are and place to visit.
- John (10/5): - Ken was a great host,he even called me on my cell phone to tell me my room was ready early.
- Ellen (10/5): Where to stay in Plymouth - It’s a beautiful property and very well maintained. It is a good location to visit wineries and restaurants.
- Carolyn (8/5): - This is the only place to stay on Plymouth’s wine road and not much around—but buzzy sutter creek is just 5 mi away. The motel was clean, bed was awesome, complimentary toothbrushes, plenty of towels, quiet.
- Thomas (8/5): - Good locatiion in Plymouth.
- Abe (10/5): A very nice surprise, exceeded expectations - We met the owner of the hotel when we checked in. He is a retired marine, retired police officer and a gentlemen. The hotel was squared away, it was clean, spacious and we were treated as one would be treated as a guest staying at someone's home.
- Mark (8/5): - It was quiet and clean
- Sandra (10/5): - It was very clean and the staff was very friendly.
- Natalie (8/5): - Close to wineries. Very clean with a wonderful manager. However, the heating/AC unit was very loud. We had to turn it off half way through the night.
- Theresa (10/5): - Ken is a great host. Very veteran and First Responder friendly! Rooms were clean, modern and nicely designed. comfortable bed. Great views form bedroom window.
- Carleton J. (8/5): - Nice place. Mexican restaurant recommendation was not going.
- Melissa (8/5): - Room was very clean & roomy. Very comfortable bed & pillows. A bit pricey for what it is but it is in a great location for wine tasting in Amador County. We were disappointed that the jacuzzi was only lukewarm because it was the main reason we booked this place & I was a bit thrown off by the interesting military esque check in process that I have never experienced elsewhere.
- Kevin (8/5): Clean and comfortable - The hotel was clean and centrally located to the places we visited during the weekend.
- Joseph (10/5): - Very nice, large and clean rooms. The pool was the main reason we chose this Hotel.
