• Sophie (8/5): Great hostel, friendly and welcoming staff - Great atmosphere. Loved the bar and social spaces. Great location by the canal. My only complaint would be the lighting in the room. The bedside light was very bright and would have benefitted from a dimmer, warmer bulb.

• GIANLUCA (8/5): When you find yourself facing an unexpected sea around the corner let yourself be amazed and sail it - 1. location, location location 2. When i booked i didn't realize the scope of YHA. It was a real pleasure discovering how HSA is committed to let children and youth live experiences that otherwise they probably cannot live. A reason more to came back again. Thanks The metal plague on the wall near the bed could be displaced or rethinked. people risk to hurt while sleeping

Las vistas al canal desde el comedor son muy bonitas. Me gustó el desayuno inglés - aunque faltaron champiñones - y el precio es muy barato. Volvería sin duda. Forman una cadena de hostels, está bien consultar sus folletos del hall

• Dan (9/5): Very nice and pleasant stay, much cheaper but far friendlier, and as good a standard and any hotel - My room was spacetus, clean and quiet. Everything you’d want from staying at the hya The WiFi was sporadic. Also, there was the option to round up the bill with small donation to charity. Usually, when I see this when I pay for something, I usually make it very clear that I don’t like that because it’s guilt tripping. However, the staff were so nice to me and they did warn me well ahead that I reluctantly accepted it with grace. I would usually make a point to object but not on this occasion because the staff were so nice and kind.

Posizione eccezionale, vicinissima alla stazione ferroviaria di Deansgate e allo storico Castlefield basin, un luogo unico e pieno di storia. La colazione, per essere un ostello, forse è un pochino costosa (ma almeno è un self-service illimitato). La prenotazione è solamente senza rimborso.

• Tracey (7/5): Lovely location and good value for money - The YHA is in a Lovely location next to the canal. We had our own room to sleep 5 of us with an en suite. The beds were comfortable. There is no kettle in the room but there is access to a shared kitchen which can be used for cooking as well as hot beverages. There is also a bar. The common room area is very nice there is lovely outside seating next to the canal. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. It was good value for money The en-suite was a bit like something that you would find in a caravan . It had quite a bit that you had to step over to get in and out of it which I think could have warranted a mind the step sign. Towels are not provided automatically you have to pay a small additional fee if you want them

Il bagno era pulito e la stanza piuttosto spaziosa. Tutto sommato ok per un ostello a basso prezzo dove trascorrere una sola notte. La stanza era poco arredata, senza comodini o posti dove appoggiare i bagagli. Inoltre era poco insonorizzata. Le tende coprivano molto poco la luce del sole che entra dalla finestra la mattina. Il letto era piuttosto piccolo e scomodo, uno dei due cuscini aveva la federa macchiata. Il bagno era molto piccolo, in particolare il lavandino era minuscolo e non c'era il miscelatore.

• Marwan (4/5): - The location was good to get to the main attractions in Manchester. Great set of restaurants and pubs nearby as well. Loads of noises inside the hostel. Strong amount of humidity in the room and the bathroom. Another main issue was that we had to pay for our towels and toiletries. My friend and I travelled to several cities and have slept in hostels before with lower rates, and yet towels and toiletries were always provided to us without having to pay extra.

• Andrew (9/5): Unexpected pleasure in a unique canal side location. Will be coming again! - Unique location. Entrance impressive with good facilities. Slept in a 4 dorm which had its own shower / wc pod which worked well. Everything was clean. The price was affordable which is saying something now days with such high overnight costs out there now. Mattress a little hard but nice pillows. Hot water was down on the day I stayed.

Perfecte uitvalsbasis voor de matchen van Man u (half uurtje wandelen langs het kanaal). Ontbijt zeker aan te raden (de all you can eat optie), dan kan je een tijdje verder overdag :).

What I didn't like was that there was no hot water, and after a long day, at haydock races, and how hot it was that day , we all could have done with a shower that was the only downside of our stay
