- Simone (10/5): Amazing stay - Fabulous small luxury hotel. Beautiful green garden, nice pool area, great staff, spacious rooms. We liked it all. Nothing
- Michal (10/5): -
- Cain (9/5): - Staff, food and property were all great. Loved relaxing by the pool. Not much around the property so a good spot to power through a book We stayed in a chalet and it was very noisy at night, sounded like squirrels living in the ceiling.
- Jessica (8/5): A lovely way to end our trip - cozy and secluded - The property is completely secluded and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was spacious, clean and the bathroom was completely unique! They have a lovely pool and lounge area where you can relax and play games. Our dinner was delicious and they catered for a vegan diet very well. I also wanted to point out the exceptional staff; while my partner and I were staying he managed to cut his hand on a glass, one of the members of staff helped dress the wound and without hesitation went with us in a tuk tuk to a local medical centre to get it checked out and pick up some medication. He was so helpful and we cant thank the staff enough for their help! The only thing we may have benefitted from was a mosquito net! But we can understand this may have ruined the aesthetic of our lovely room
- Artem (10/5): Great hotel - Private like experience with very high service standards.
- Ledderhof (10/5): - Prachtige plek met geweldige service. Voor ons een ideale plek om de reis af te sluiten en daarna door te reizen naar het vliegveld.
- David (10/5): We loved it and would definitely consider staying there again. - This was our first accommodation in Sri Lanka and turned out to be one of the best. The bungalows are set in the grounds of a nineteenth century dutch estate, well away from the roads and in an open wooded / forest location. The bungalows were very well decorated and the host was so kind and attentive. We were even provided with a cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Breakfast and dinner (we took the half board option) were excellent and plentiful. The entry hall, lounge and dining area of the main building were beautifully furnished. Nothing really, quite happy
- Andreas (10/5): Very nice hotel in a calm and serene environment with very friendly staff. -
- Alex (10/5): A lovely peaceful setting, with peacocks wandering around. Helpful booking process, especially as we had a complicated s - Beautiful setting, elegant and comfortable. Helpful and charming staff. We liked it all!
- Suresh (9/5): Superb -
- Megumi (10/5): Amazing experience - A truly wonderful hotel nestled in nature. The spacious, immaculate rooms, the infinity pool seamlessly blending into the natural surroundings, and above all, the incredibly kind and hospitable staff made our stay unforgettable. The curry we had was also delicious. Thank you so much for such a fantastic experience! Nothing
- Joanne (10/5): Great stay! - Our stay was perfect! The spacious bungalow was clean en beautiful. It is located in a tropical garden with many birds. The pool is beautiful! It is close to a small village where the people are curious and super friendly. We walked to do some shoppings. It is not a touristic area and that is what we loved. The food was also really good! The staff helped us to arrange a drivers to bring us to the next stop. He recommended some sightseeing and our visit to temples was great! No tourists and we were invited for a tea by a monk!
- Marcin (10/5): A tranquil jungle paradise with stunning architecture, perfect for relaxation and meditation. - This is hands down the best destination on earth! It feels like a piece of paradise nestled in the heart of the jungle—stylish, tranquil, and beautifully designed. The architecture is truly enjoyable, blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. It's the perfect spot for relaxation or meditation, offering a serene escape like no other.
- Giuliana (9/5): Superb - Perfect start for our Sri Lanka adventure! The host was very welcoming and fulfilled all of our wishes! The food was amazing!
The House is located nicely in the jungle with fantastic views. We would definitely come back!
- John (9/5): Peaceful, helpful staff, good food, comfortable. - Very peaceful and comfortable bungalow in lovely surroundings. Good pool. Fresh tasty food. Excellent staff who made us feel at home. They were exceptionally helpful in organising a courier to send on a package we had left behind. Fantastic service, thank you. All good.
- Heidi (10/5): As if at a retreat in the middle of a coconut plantation - We had a magnificent stay at Comilla Bungalow.
The staff went out of their way to make us feel looked after, the home cooked meals were delicious, the house is beautifully decorated as if in an old coconut plantation house in the 18th century and the bedrooms are spacious and the grounds and swimming pool absolutely beautiful! The birdlife on the property was also incredible. Nothing
- Tamsin (7/5): Great but could do with a few small tweaks to make it better. - Elegant house and beautifully designed rooms - very peaceful with beautiful birds and nature surrounding Lovely swimming pool and gorgeous gardens. Very comfortable and spacious rooms but they do need a little redecoration but were lovely nonetheless. Food was nice enough but limited - no alcoholic drinks available. Access tricky by car.
- Thérèse (10/5): Exceptional - A very very nice hotel, everything super Nothing
- Jade (10/5): Piece of heaven on earth - This place is something else. A little piece of heaven on earth. We had such a relaxing stay and the staff was so great! Highly recommend this place. The interior design and the pool are reasons enough to go, so is the food served. Nothing to dislike.. maybe that the small road leading up to the property is not in the best shape.
- Clair (10/5): Perfect first night in Sri Lanka - Beautiful surroundings, polite and attentive hosts, very comfortable and AMAZING food! Lovely pool for a dip. Perfect first night in Sri Lanka. Nothing
- Sarah (10/5): Nothing short of excellent - You won’t make a mistake staying here whether it’s on your way in or out of Sri Lanka! This establishment embodies the very essence of Tropical Modernism. Great for families, couples, and single people all around, you won’t regret enjoying the magic this place has to offer
- Malene (10/5): Exceptional - THANK you so much for this beautiful stay.
At first we were there for 6 nights - and everything was amazing ! So actually we came back a few days later for 4 more nights !
We enjoyed the calm atmosphere with the stunning view, the garden, the pool and sounds of the birds.
We will never forget the outstanding service and the food.
We will definitely visit Comilla Bungalow again.

- Lucy (10/5): A real gem of a place. A beautiful hotel, matched by beautiful souls in a dreamy location. - Everything! The location, the room, the staff...everything was perfect. They even organiser a taxi from the airport for us and the cooking really was spectacular. N/A - Everything was awesome!
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hotel set in a lush green area full of sun birds, squirrels, flycatcher birds and lots more amazing animals. We stayed in the Silva villa which was incredible. The food is really great but what made our stay memorable was the two awesome staff members Chamara and Indika who went above and beyond with helping us out every day. The hotel is quite close to Gampaha which has a nice botanical gardens that you can visit. .
- James (10/5): An unexpected slice of peace and understated luxury -
- Rp (9/5): Superb - Quiet in the nature just outside from the Colombo region but near to the airport. Our last accomodation on our Sri Lanka tour. Thanks. We ❤️ Sri Lanka. 🙏
- Andreas (10/5): It was a beautiful stay and I recommend going there! -
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - This was an amazing place to stay, the accommodation, pool and surrounds were beautiful, we could see nothing but greenery so it was very peaceful. The service and hospitality from Chamara and Indika was incredible, they were so kind and generous to us. I arrived early from a flight and they did everything to make my arrival comfortable and easy. The breakfast and dinner was also great.
- Michelle (10/5): Superb, relaxing and so peaceful - The setting was idyllic. Very quiet, we had the whole bungalow to ourselves and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. It was very interesting to read about the history of Comilla Bungalow and the information pack about the area was very informative. The birdsong at dawn was wonderful.
The room was spacious and comfortable, the shower was large and water hot. We enjoyed chatting to one of the staff and he was a great person to have in the hospitality industry, so attentive - a real asset to Comilla.
The dinner was good although it was cold.
We would have liked to have stayed longer. Nothing
- Felix (9/5): Superb - Beautiful hotel, one of the best (out of 12) hotels during our trip to SL One thing needs improvement / consideration especially if you travel with kids:
The pool has a underwater valve sucking out water (to get filtered). It creates a very (!) strong sucking effect, somewhat painful for an adult and potentially dangerous for a kid. A kid could potentially have their arm or leg pulled into this (slim chance but possible). Watch out if you use the pool with a kid.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - absolutely exceptional in design with very large windows looking out into the jungle! Beautiful atmosphere with a smaller infinity pool. Highly recommended.
- Maud (10/5): Fantastic! - What a fantastic stay we had at Comilla Bungalow. The surroundings are beautiful, the bungalows luxurious and beautifully decorated. The shower spectacular with a glass ceiling. And then the people who work there... Chamara and Indika are the best hosts around. We were pampered from start to finish. Nothing was a problem. We were taken to wherever we wanted by Tuktuk, WiFi was arranged when it stopped working for a while, and when there was a power cut, a generator was turned on. And the delicious food was cooked for us. The breakfast in the morning was beautifully prepared and completely tailored to our wishes. The first evening the food was so delicious that we decided to enjoy dinner there the other evenings as well. Wow, we enjoyed our first 4 days in Sri Lanka, thank you very much for your fantastic care Chamara and Indika! All the best and hope to see you soon!
- Michelle (9/5): Lovely stay - We stayed here for 1 night which was perfect. Calm, nice pool good food.
- Gayan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gillian (10/5): A hidden gem, paradise! - Beautiful little resort set in stunning manicured gardens surrounded by jungle. We saw so many birds, plants and trees that we have never seen before! So relaxing to sit and watch the peacocks, squirrels and birds from the terrace.
Comilla Bungalow is a great location to have a stay after flying to Colombo or before leaving, it’s only an hour from the airport.
We stayed 2 nights as a halfway point driving between Kandy and Galle and it was perfect, so relaxing and quiet.
We had delicious breakfasts and we also chose to have dinners there which were some of the best Sri Lankan food we tried. The staff are first class and so genuinely lovely and kind, like most of the people we met in Sri Lanka! We loved it!
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raphael (9/5): Superb -
- Adeline (8/5): Peaceful and calm environment with a beautiful view of a coconut farm. - The overall experience is good especially the meals provided by the staff. Superb authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, they have ample natural ingredients made available especially coconuts.
The room is spacious and loved the interior design of it.
Surrounding of the place is also very calm, peaceful and lots nature around with various species of birds, squirrels, butterflies and lots of plants they planted too.
Loved this place and their hospitality a lot, it’s our second time and we will always go back there. The day before on a Sunday, there was a private party at the pool. After that the pool wasn’t cleaned and couldn’t swim in it.
- Vivienne (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful quiet house within an hour or so from the airport. A great place to spend our first night. Delicious food & beautiful pool.
- Sanne (10/5): Perfect jungle oasis before/after flight - The 2 absolutely lovely staff members that took care of us made our stay unforgettable. Comilla Bungalow is probably one of the best places to stay when you’ve just arrived in Sri Lanka after a long flight. It’s a bit remote so don’t expect restaurants or other facilities in the neighbourhood, but the staff will prepare the best food for you and drive you to places if needed.
- Ng (10/5): Exceptional back to nature retreat and offers superb local sri lankan cuisine, and accommodating. - The Silva Lodge wasn’t what we expected and it was so spacious. Hence, it offered a beautiful view of coconut trees with lots of greenery and nature to offer.
The staff, Chamera and team were very friendly, accommodating and offered great customer experiences. We checked in late and he led us to our room directly without having to sort out the registration, and asked if we needed dinner via the chat on the platform.
The location is very tranquil and remote, peaceful and the night prior it rained, in the morning it was so misty.
Lots birds, squirrels, butterflies, dragonflies were at the vicinity of the bungalow. None
- Benny (9/5): Superb -
- Lottemarie (9/5): Superb - very nice staff
