Guest Reviews
- Joseph (10/5): - Great location
- Dan (10/5): - Does what it says on the tin vlean tidy and comfortable, in a good locatio for a quiet pint.
- LEE (10/5): - Quirky building and a lovely room. Upgraded free of charge which was a lovely surprise đ„° young man who checked us in was so lovely polite and friendly đ
We went for a meal elsewhere for my mums birthday and when we came back we visited the pub across the road which is also part of this family business and again the place was cute and clean with wonderful staff and locals. In the morning we visited the dolly tearooms and yet again fabulous staff lovely breakfast menu. Again this is run by the same family... and to add more the family are from the village itself which is nice that they have helped raise the business and employment in a little village
And all the locals think highly of these business owners, who also do alt for the village itself. This shows this family and their services k ow what they are doing and because of all of this we will definitely be back to stay.
Thank you all the staff keep up the great work and customer service đ đ đ
Best wishes

- George (10/5): Chapel Cross Guest House - A very nice guest House, recently refurbished and ideal for short stays. It is close to Rosslyn Chapel.
- Tyler (10/5): Old Town Charm - Stayed at Chapel Cross Guest House while visiting Roslyn Chapel, which is a short walk away. Unforgettable experience with nothing but glowing reviews. While this hotel is older and the floor boards squeak, I found my overall stay to be pleasant. The beds are comfortable and the rooms and amenities are clean. For the price, they provide high value.
Across the street is The Original Rosslyn Hotel which has amazing food at the Gastropub. I can't recommend the Steak & Stewart Brewings Ale Pie and the House Special hot chocolate enough! Honestly, it is some of the best food I've had in my life!
Down the road is the Rosslyn Chapel which is my second favorite church, next to York Minister.
Awesome place to visit if you're in the area!
- Nicola (8/5): Does what it says on the tin - Breakfast is served in the pub across the road, not really where you feel like being first thing in the morning.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap hotel near Edinburgh when no other choice. - The windows haven't been cleaned for years in room #6, with cobwebs everywhere...
- Sue (6/5): Not our cup of tea - This was our least favorite place to stay on our trip. We had a mix up with the hotel staff about payment (didn't realize that we still needed to pay and it was not done through Orbitz). The staff checking us in didn't know what Orbitz was so we did not start off on the right foot. The room was clean, but the celling in the bathroom was peeling and there was mold/mildew on the window frames. We also had never seen an electric shower before and didn't know that we needed to find a breaker to turn on (it was not obvious in the bathroom). There was no staff to ask so we ended up going showerless that night. We ended up not staying the 2 days we booked as it just didn't fit our personalliyt
- Melissa (10/5): Comfortable and Quiet - Room was comfortable and quiet. Note that check-in ends at 9pm. Our confirmation said 10pm and if we hadn't caught Richard we would have not had a place to stay the night. Richard was very courteous and assisted us in checking in. This restriction needs to be corrected on Orbitz/Expedia.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Affordable B&B situated near Edinburgh. - This affordable B&B has a small off street car park, is conveniently situated near Edinburgh, and we found our bedroom with ensuite bathroom to be comfortable and clean.
- louise (6/5): - I wasn't pleased with room needed curtains as window was directly over looking a popular pub
Also double decker bus stopped out side so people on the top could see in our room
- Philip (4/5): OK guest house with no breakfast and poor parking - Staff were really friendly and the Owners are doing the place up so things will get better. However...
It is SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTING that for a business traveler, there is no way to get breakfast. Food is not served until 10:30 in the tea room.
Parking was poor ( with two skips in the car park blocking spaces )
- Ian (8/5): Chapel Cross Hotel - Primarily to visit Rosslyn Chapel. No food at hotel, but pub / bar / hotel over the road was very good, 1 minute walk.
- Gilbert (10/5): Great Stay! - Great neighborhood, people were very friendly. Bus stop right around the corner taking you into the city.
- Heather (8/5): Fabulous for a trip to Rosslyn Chapel - Beautiful, comfortable, big room. Comfortable bed! Right next to Rosslyn chapel and a darling pub and restaurant. Tea room on site for snacks and coffee and tea. We loved it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Strategically placed. - We had a family gathering as grandparents had lived in Glenside Cottages in the glen late 19th/early 20th century and are buried in the chapel church yard. Most of us stayed at Rosslyn Castle, and three of us stayed at The Chapel Cross GH.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very helpful, - Very helpful friendly staff, all the facilities necessary for a comfy stay.
Lovely pub next door providing an excellent lunch.
Not much in the town but perfect for a quiet get away.
- Jodie (10/5): - Lovely guest house staff were amazing would stay again
