Guest Reviews
- Marina BROOM (5/5): - Large room. Bed quite comfy. Had fridge and microwave Bathroom dated, sink cracked. Toiletries were cheap and difficult to open. Noise all night from neighbouring rooms mainly banging and shouting. Not a very nice area
- Benny (10/5): -
- Jared (1/5): - Checked out a day early, still charged me for the additional day.
- Kiah (10/5): -

- Gota (8/5): I love the staff and I’ll def come back - The staff was kind and responsible. 24/7 Nothing. It was good for the price
- Alberto (7/5): -
- Ramiro (8/5): - It was ok need more food services
- Ray (2/5): Don’t stay here - I never actually checked in. When I drive up into the parking lot, it wasn’t somewhere I’d stay. Vagrants hanging around in the sidewalk at the entrance. Photo in Hotel.com is VERY misleading.
- Shawneea (10/5): - Here is this small, somewhat hidden motel, that is super clean and comfortable. We were going to a concert in Gallagher Square, and we were driving. It took 10 minutes to drive to the concert. What drew us to this motel was the free parking and the great price. You won't find THAT downtown. BTW, around the corner on Market St, is a very interesting store. I wish we had had more time to truly explore.
- Juan (10/5): - Staff members were very kind!!
- Daniel (7/5): -
- Armando (10/5): - Always clean, super spacious, Front desk is always nice and helps with anything. Even offered to let me stay an extra hour. Would recommend. 10/10
- Joe (8/5): - Easy to get to ALL good
- Cholla (8/5): - Affordable and clean. Very nice owners who made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Shower was a little weird as the handle was not working properly but besides that the stay was perfect.
- Isabel (8/5): - Great place for the money
- Malgorzata (9/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Dated but homey. - Our stay was comfortable.. The building is a little dated but theyve done a good job of keep it nèat and modern. It was a little homey. No complaints. We will return next yr.
- Pedro (8/5): - I liked the customer service.
- Justin (10/5): - Great property for comic con stay. Close to convention and quiet.
- Daouze (7/5): - Personnel très sympa Les cheveux. Pas de changement de serviette le 2e jour. Et quelques passages de prostituées la nuit.
- Frank (10/5): - Thanks
- Giuliana (4/5): - I liked that it was small but not what I expected. The room was nice but everything in there looked outdated. Outside parking was very small and calm.
- amy (10/5): - This is a great little hole in the wall fine. I didn't want to spend as much money to stay downtown right near the convention center so I decided to take a chance on this nice hotel. The gentleman at the desk was very kind and very welcoming when I showed up to start my trip. The hotel is in a nice little back area that is close to the highway yet it can be seen but once in the room not heard. The room overall was very clean and quite spacious for the one king bed that was in it. The Aesthetics were very update, and a nice little letter of welcoming me a joined the room when I got there. The amenities are perfect not always in the room but we're available on demand. The room overall was very quiet and well lit. There is a Latino that played some music about two blocks over that could be heard in the room but stopped every night at 9:00 p.m. which was never a problem. The hotel was about 2.3 miles from the convention center which was about a 8 to 9 dollar Uber or Lyft ride. Even at one time I did walk from downtown and did just fine. Please consider and supporting this local business these guys have done a really good job of keeping everything nice and clean and safe.
- Lilit (2/5): - Property was overall in not so good condition. My bathroom door was missing a handle. Only one towel was provided. Walls were so thin you can hear your neighbors conversations. Paint was chipped all over the room and bathroom. AC was not working.
- Wendy (2/5): - Do not stay here. Our stay was terrible. It’s sketchy activity at night with various nighttime activities going on. The room was not entirely clean and the bed was uncomfortable.
- Jamie (10/5): - Loved the room
- Jose (10/5): - Great service, close to the city! Couldn’t ask for more!
- Giovanna (3/5): Poor -
- Verified traveler (4/5): better options are available elsewhere - Are is near an industrial zone on edge of residential. Pretty sketch after dark. Room was clean but a bit rough. Bathroom sink fixture leaked whenever it was on. Mattress was not good. Staff was very helpful.
- Sissy (9/5): Superb -
- May (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Martinez (5/5): Passable -
- Maryline (10/5): - Nice
- Jose (7/5): Good -
- Hebrew (8/5): - The stat was great but the WiFi was terrible. Wanted to get work done but the connection was spotty at best and cut out frequently. If you’re on business and need internet access, hopefully your phone can do everything you need otherwise you might be in danger. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star review
- Aliyon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (7/5): Overall, it was a pleasant stay. - friendly staff and very easy to find. It is in an excellent location. My room was next to the street, and I heard some cars drive by. It didn't disturb my sleep as I am a deep sleeper. The room next door had the TV on all night, which was rather impolite of the occupant. I could have called the front desk and complained but I didn't.
- Angela (10/5): Memories - Check in was smooth and good and the renovations turned out pretty good. I like the employees/owners of this establishment I have been going here for years even when they used to have rooms to rent by the hour. So I love this place
- Andrea (10/5): Great stay!!! - We were able to check in early which was a big help. The front desk aget was really nice, friendly and helpful
- Khalid (10/5): Great - Great
- Khalid (10/5): Exceptional -
- DeEtta (8/5): - Convenient nice staff just beeda alot more effort cleaning of the rooms
- Yasmin (10/5): - Room was spacious and clean .
- Gabriela (8/5): - I liked the location, the size of the room , bathroom and closet. The fact that it has a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room . I missed the coffee maker but I didn’t ask for it because there’s no phone in the room and I didn’t bother to go to the office..the building has a clean look and there’s a big tv in the room. The bed was comfortable. We have a comfortable stay.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Front desk very helpful Noisy neighbors
- Luke (10/5): - Great spot
- Verified traveler (4/5): Fine for one night. - Check-in was easy, the staff was nice, and the water pressure was great. However, it needs major renovation and a good deep cleaning. I would not want to stay here more than one night, but the location was good for my purposes, and the price was cheap.
- Naomi (10/5): - Clean spacious room, didn't smell like smoke. About a 3 minute drive from some great restuarants
- Justine (8/5): Very good - People were very kind and helpful. Wifi was not working well
- Peter (7/5): Worth the money for a short stay, but not a good neighborhood for walking around. - Convenient, private, and with the basics for a short stay. Room counters were sticky and if rooms were update a little, it would really boost the experience.
- Matt (10/5): A + Customer Service The way hotels use to be - They were just so nice what hotels use to be like in the 90s just so accommodating and nice
I will go out of my way to stay there again The staff and the rooms were clean and well kept you can tell it’s family own
They really take pride in their hotel and the service they provide
I had a car accident and was healing they were so nice and accommodating I was so grateful I will go out of my way to stay here again
- Sergio (10/5): - Evwrything
- Gordana (3/5): Although the staff was nice and helpfull it was very unpleasant stay because of a very dirty room and it was far from an - Big beds. The room was very dirty! As soon as we got in to the room I walked few minutes bare foot before taking the shower, my feet were black from dirt! I couldnt belive how dirty the floor was!!
On the bathtab I found someones body or pubic hair!! This all made me feel realy uncomfortable and unable to relax and rest in that room! Luckily we stayed just one night there.
- Tammy (10/5): Great plac we to stay, not enough vacancies - Location, price was within my budget Nothing
- Andrew (10/5): Rooms, service, location, everything was great and I can't wait to return. - The room was great, comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and professional, always available for service/questions and made sure I was satisfied with my room. Everything about my stay was excellent, no issues or complaints. I will 100% come back, thank you Lodge for making my trip more relaxing and memorable. Nothing, I liked everything.
- Christina (10/5): - Easy fast check in.. The room very spacious and had a modern look..
- Shota (4/5): Disappointing -
- DALE E. (8/5): Nice motel - Very quaint motel. Clean, with amenities to match. Parking is tight. You have to slow down coming around the corner on 32nd or you'll miss the entrance! (I did!)
- Carlos (10/5): - Just outside the downtown area, nice quiet area. It was right off the freeway making it very easy to come and go. The rooms were clean and maintained, and staff was very accommodating. Would definitely stay there again.!
- Tamara (5/5): Known prostitution hotel via the local uber drivers - Liked that we saved money on a room for 2 nights. The floor was filthy and the tub needed cleaned and the lighting was dim. We were told by many uber drivers that the prostitutes in the area use the rooms all day long. The ice machine was broken so the guy behind the counter went to the back of the office and brought us out some. I'm praying the sheets were clean, but they seemed to be. It was just a dive. Had to wash my feet everytime I was barefoot..it was just gross.
- Robert (8/5): - It was an average place to stay. Staff is nice. We stayed 2 nights which was fine. Neighborhood is old but all in all it worked for us.
- Hatsuko (6/5): - The floor was very sticky. Very little parking available.
- Alyssa (10/5): - Very nice and well cleaned hotel
- Irina (2/5): Very poor -
- Phaedra (4/5): Bare minimum funky roadside hotel, hard bed and pillows but clean and friendly reception. - Very friendly counter worker. Funky roadside hotel. Hard bed and pillows.
- Joel (10/5): - Easy in and easy out
- Francisco (10/5): - Good price, close to downtown.
- Dilshod (6/5): Pleasant - Unfortunately some amenities was not provided: hair dryer, coffee machine or tea.
Wifi was not working. Broken wifi
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sunil (9/5): Superb -
- Sharath (10/5): - Excellent location, clean room and very friendly staff.
It is close to the zoo, seaworld and many restaurants.
Manager Manny was responsive and very helpful.
I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here for my future visits to San Diego.
- Michael (8/5): Good value. - Good value. Friendly staff. Tight parking, though. Those with large (or long) cars might consider looking elsewhere. There is some street parking available in front as well, too. Wi-fi worked from our room, but was rather slow.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The bathroom door knob was broken and the top where a window was had bars of used soap so that part was not cleaned and the bathroom sink had ants crawling everywhere. The bed frame was hard and uncomfortable. We were told they were renovating but cleaningness and pest control matters to me.
- Thomas (6/5): - It’s a good stay for a night or two. I liked how there was parking and the staff is very nice.
- Moazzam (9/5): Host was nice and friendly - No breakfast! Morning coffee
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hershey Marie (10/5): - I would come back and stay in this hotel again. I love it. The staff were so helpful and nice to me when I checked in. The room is clean. It's not in the nicest area in SD but again, I would love to come back and stay here again. I even extended another night and they were okay with. Parking is free and only a low deposit.
- Susana (10/5): It was nice, but there was one cockroach. - It was nice. We found cockroaches.
- Aidan (8/5): - Nice rooms, good service, clean. Bizarrely did not have a toilet paper holder and the shower temperature fluctuates a lot.
- Araceli (10/5): - .
- Sahil (10/5): - great place
- Michael L (6/5): - Very pleasant front office, very limited facility
- david (10/5): Great spot, economical - Pleasantly surprised. Thank you
- Ramirez (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, clean, nice staff.
- Rosalinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Raul (8/5): comfortable - aged location but you can tell the management is really trying, they're working with what they have but they don't have much to work with
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (8/5): Good experience for a quick stop - * Personnel at the reception was kind and helpful.
* Parking
* Fridge available in the room
* Bed was comfortable * Dated furniture
- Kathy (8/5): - Beds are uncomfortable. Heater was noisy
- Daniel (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel isn't the most sightly but we weren't expecting it to be. Rooms were nice and very clean. We were visiting our son who was in SD for business. He lives in Europe. Would stay there again sometime if we were going for a short stay and needed to be in that part of SD. Nice place.
- Arlene (4/5): Staff was nice and helpful. Would not stay there again. - Staff was nice. It is very outdated. It seemed like there was mold inside the room.
- Anna (7/5): Good -
- Nate (4/5): - This is one of the cheapest places to stay close to the airport, so I expect it to not be perfect - I don’t know how they have a 7.6 rating -
Nothing within walking distance
Doesn't look like the safest neighborhood
The shampoo was in packets, that’s annoying when you are in the shower trying to open packets
Had to complain about the noisy neighbors at 10pm and they fixed that quickly
The TV didn’t work properly - remote wouldn’t change channels or anything except volume and power
Bed was nice, facility was clean
- Soldateii (1/5): Never again - There was free parking on site The rooms have zero insulation. Extremely noisy from other guests, very cold at night and bathroom was not clean.
- Eddvera (1/5): Bad -
- Ticegrl (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - Love the staff. Very helpful. Perfect distance from the Convention Center. Quiet. Slept great.
