Guest Reviews
- Robert (2/5): - FLIES in the room dead and alive! Some stuck to a sticky strip in the Only windows that did NOT open AND there was NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! DIRTY Place!!!!
- Joyce (8/5): - This is a basic older motel near downtown Iron Mountain. We just needed a place to sleep for the night and wanted to be able to walk to some local establishments. The rooms are basic, but clean and the rate was the most reasonable in town.
- David (2/5): - It was horrible want Jennifer's money back to her the shower wouldn't even turn off . The room was disgusting. N hot
- Cathy (8/5): - Room was nice check-in was easy good place to stay if your just passing threw
- Michael (4/5): Lack of heat - No heat - walked into a 65 degree room, with outside temperatures forecast to fall into the 40's during the night. We couldn't get the heat to turn on and had to get the manager. He pushed many buttons, lectured us, and bled water from the radiator system - telling us it would be warm in 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, no change. We contacted the manager again and he then confessed that the heating system was not turned on because it was summer (Sept. 7). By then it was late and we slept in a very cool room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Room review - Room was good for the price pretty clean kind of Retro
You get what you pay for. For just needing A place to
crash for the night and A shower was good I would go back
for the price.
- Julia (8/5): - Great price. Microwave and fridge. Motel is worn and tired but clean. Bed was average. Thin walls - could hear neighbor's conversations and tv. Good value for the low price.
- Gene (6/5): - O
- Wendy (6/5): - The place is fine for one night. Facility is very dated, sink and bathtub heavily stained, some rust. Unprofessional patch job on the tiles in the shower. Even so, the place was reasonably clean, and the price was right.
- Steven (10/5): - friendly
- Brian (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay. Quiet and safe.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Very outdated hotel room. There was a group of long term tenants standing around outside my door into the late hours of the evening smoking and drinking both nights I was there.
- Lesa (10/5): - Owners were very nice people! Very accommodating!
- Phillip (10/5): - The staff are super freindly! The room was clean, bug free, and the bed was very comfy. Will definitely be staying here again on my next trip out!
- Jory (6/5): Budget motel in Michigan - The shelves in bathtub/shower we’re not clean looked like they had mold or mildew or something green or black in the cracks… The towels were sort of thin and skimpy. I have used two of them to dry off. Of course we realize this is an extreme budget motel so going by that it was acceptable for us. We stay in a lot of motels as I work on the road.
- Joanne (8/5): - The only unfortunate portion of my stay was that other patrons were gathered outside my unit talking and playing music beyond 12:30am. Otherwise the room would have been quiet
- Carolyn (10/5): - The room was clean. The owners were personable, professional and friendly. The rates were affordable. I recommend them highly.
- Terry (8/5): - The only problem I encountered was the toilet seat was not bolted down. Other than that, all good!
- Corinne (8/5): - This hotel is dated and not fancy, but was a fantastic price for what it is. Beds were super comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was great! We would definitely stay here again if we were passing through the area.
- Rodney (8/5): - It was ok. Heat was hard to regulate. Bed was a little firm.
- Eugene (10/5): - Just what we needed. Owners are very sweet.
- Nancy (10/5): - The parking areas were not plowed. You couldn't tell where the sidewalk started and the parking lot ended very unsafe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Worth the cheap stay - Desk personnel very nice. Rooms very old/outdated but quite clean. Firm comfortable matress in my opinion. Was worth the very resonable price I paid.
- William (6/5): - OK for one night.
- Erik (2/5): - There was a ring of black mold around the top of the bathroom walls, likely due to being used as extended-stay lodging. The motel is old and in great need of renovation.
- Dennis (8/5): A room worthy of it’s rate - Nice lady for check-in and out. Room comfortable with basic necessities provided. TV was great! Great hot water supply! Bed firm and comfortable.
In need of some updating and maintenance, but price was reasonable and the room was clean, as were the lobby, entrance, and parking lot.
- Patricia (6/5): - Beds rock hard would have been nice for 2pillows to help with comfort
- Linda (8/5): - Very courteous staff clean
- Rob (10/5): - Ideal spot and great price
- Deb (8/5): - Had a very nice stay. Not what I expected when we first drove in. Room was clean but needs updating. Bed was quite hard but the room was clean which was our first priority. Staff was very friendly also
- Amanda (8/5): - Reasonable stay on short notice. Great rates.
- Andrew (10/5): - Rize up dispo across the street !!!
- Nicole (10/5): - The owners were very nice and welcoming. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.
- Kyle (10/5): - This is an older hotel. Price very good. It could use some renovation but everything worked. Ac was cold. No bad smells in my room. The staff was very polite and accommodating. Medium sized fridge/freezer . Microwave. I dont think there was breakfast. Stayed nextdoor at the bigger hotel and payed triple the price with a company discount, with an ac that didnt work. This is a good place to rest. Its not fancy. The price is fair. People are nice. I wont stay anywhere else in iron mountain
- Jamie (6/5): - Great right next door to a restaurant; perfect location for passing through Iron Mountain.
- Therese (8/5): - No hang on bars in bathroom. The bed was noisy with springs.
- Robert (4/5): Motel Hell-o? - This trip was a 180 degree turn around from last. Carpets were stained. Towels stained, a/c loud, smelled bad, mattress rock hard, refrigerator not plugged in on arrival so it was warm. The only redeeming factor is that no one was staying there so it was relatively quiet. Checked out a day early.
- rebecca (8/5): - Just a basic room but that’s all I needed.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great job! You made my stay rememberable - Great room, very clean, great staff, felt safe, I will definitely be coming back
- Christos (8/5): - Older, but pretty clean. Nice owners, courteous and accommodating.
Italian restaurant steps away
- Kathleen (10/5): - As always, clean and comfortable
- Charlie (10/5): - The hotel was a bit dated but very clean and nice. I can recommend it for any budget-minded traveler. The front desk staff was extremely friendly.
- Tim (8/5): - The property owner was very friendly and even loaned me a USB charger because I forgot mine. A lot of motels have USB chargers built into the lamps or wall outlets, but this motel is very basic. It met my needs and was clean and comfortable. They also have coffee in the office in the morning. Some of the dinning options in the area are only open 4-5 days a week, so limited dinning within walking distance is a small problem. I'd stay again!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Low budget, clean and safe. The motel manager was very friendly. Nothing special but perfect for a 1 night stop to sleep.
- Joan (8/5): - What we liked: warm, personable front desk lady; clean room (except possibly the table); quiet (no noisy neighbors).
Could have been better: stains on carpet and chairs; would have liked one more pillow.
- Gary (8/5): - was clean and had everything I needed for the price..:)
- David (6/5): - Affordable, older building but acceptable
- V8857KQsuem (8/5): Hidden Gem - Older family run motel but spotlessly clean things were a little older but ok. The host was wonderfully accomodating. Will stay there on our way back home. This was our first time traveling with our pup. Most places wanted every cent we owned plus our first born to bri g out dog in.
- fatdad69 (10/5): Awesome place - It was a great place. The room was very nice and plenty of room. The hosts are taking very care of the whole place. For an older building they have put in a lot of work. I'm sure it is going to be are go to on future trips to the area. We left a pillow but that's no big deal.
- tiff (10/5): - The new owners were great, they were very accommodating for my friend that has a sevice dog and our room was very spacious. It smelled clean and beds and sheets were clean and comfy. It was perfect for a nite stay in the UP, I will definitely be going back on my next trip.
- Isabella (10/5): - Loved my stay at iron mountain! The owners were so kind and welcoming and the area was very peaceful.
- Laura (8/5): - Bare bones and a bit shabby, this older motel is very reasonable for a place to sleep. It has the essentials, and the room was very quiet. The mattress was very comfortable, firm but not hard, bedding was clean and cozy. Towels were thin, if you care about those kind of things, but freshly laundered. Worst part was trying to get the shampoo packet open. I had to use my teeth. Everything else was just fine for what this place is.
- Richard (10/5): - Even with new owners, still love this place! Always will choose this place when we come to town
- Robert (10/5): - Awesome
- Betty (10/5): - It’s a bit older, but was clean and well kept
- Brayton (10/5): - The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean just aged a bit. For the price it exceeded my expectations!
- Carla (10/5): - Exactly what I was looking for! The price was right, and the accommodations were more than I was expecting! I will stay here again if I have an early morning airline flight, as it is better than driving from home in the dark for 2 hours and chancing a flat tire and missing my flight! The owner was very friendly and I felt safe as a single traveler staying there.
- Gene (6/5): - Old
- katehY5502KE (2/5): Gross - The front desk staff was nice. The hotel room itself was incredibly run down and gross. Stains everywhere and overwhelming smell of musty moldy and carpet fresh trying to cover it up. The bed had a good amount of hairs that were not mine in it, the bathroom door couldnt shut, the window was painted over the glass, the tiles in the tub were cracked and the tub was stained. Both chairs in the room were stained and really gross. The TV came in all grainy and bad quality picture. The mirror was chipped and had a soap dispenser from the 80's attached to the wall and thats the only soap you get. Dust on everything and the coat rack was rusty. The fridge was disgusting and unplugged so wasnt cold for us to use. Very cold in the room had to go out and get my sleeping bag. The dropped ceiling tiles were worped. I mean its $50 a night so what else do you expect but overall totally yuck. Go to one of the other hotels close to that area and pay the $20 more. Seriously.
- Andrew (10/5): - I have stayed here in the past and like it. Price is great and staff are very accommodating.
- Carol (10/5): - This is a VERY clean property!! I have stayed her multiple times over the years that my Mum was in a nursing home near. Great owners and gre location!
- MICHAEL (10/5): - Nice and clean. Nice people
- John (8/5): - For a trip back in the 60's this is the place. The furniture is worn and the bed is hard. There was a smell of mustiness or carpet shampoo. Overall, the room, linen and towels where excellent.
- john (10/5): - Very nice staff made me feel at home.
- Sandi (8/5): - This is an older property, although it was very clean. The owner is super nice. The bed was to hard for our liking and the pillows were not big enough, but for the price, I'm not unhappy.
- Robert (10/5): - Friendly, welcoming staff. Rooms and property were clean and welcoming. Large Rooms. Beds we're a little stiff.
- Jerry (10/5): - I stayed here twice within the past month: once with my son, and a few weeks later with my family. Nice clean place; great staff; excellent if you're on a budget and need a place to sleep. More than enough parking, and it's in a well lit area. Considering the prices of neighboring hotels and motels in the area, I'd recommend it. We'll likely come back next time we're in the area.
- Juan (10/5): - Remodeling
- Delanie (10/5): - Staff was very friendly and helpful
- Patricia (8/5): - Older property but very clean and friendly staff.
- Johnson (8/5): - The front desk staff was very nice and accomodating. We would definetly stay here again.
- brian (6/5): - This place was fine for spending a night on a long drive but the carpet did smell musty and I am sensitive to such smells. There was no bathroom fan and the window would not open. I slept with the door open.
- Fred (10/5): - clean...no frills....great value....just what I like when traveling and need a comfortable stress-free stay.
- Anthony (10/5): - Ownership was great; they treated us with professionalism, integrity, and attention to our needs. The owners take a lot of pride in the motor inn and appear to be in the process of modernizing it.
- Evelyn (2/5): - This place is a dump
- Andy (8/5): - Only thing I did not like is that the refrigerator was unplugged upon arrival. I was overcharged by 9 dollars but the owner fixed it and I do appreciate the honesty as it would have been something I would have overlooked and not known about.
- Steve (10/5): - Nice clean, quiet, relaxing motel. All staffencoyntered were warm and very accomodating and seemed as if they truly wanted us to enjoy our stay. Would DEFINATELY stay here in the future. Highly recommend!
- Robert (10/5): - Great place to rest on your journey.
- Carol (10/5): - This is a very clean property…. No frills but I would stay again.
- Keith (6/5): - Very hard bed and pillows
- JOHNNY (10/5): - Good & cleaned room.
- SCOTT (10/5): - Nice clean room
- Rodney (10/5): - Room was nice , and the desk clerk was very accommodating and friendly.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great place to stay on the way up north. Very clean and comfortable.
- claude (10/5): - Great
- Kevin L (10/5): - Cleanest place in a long time would definitely stay again.
- Brian (6/5): Wouldnt recommend - The room was very nice and clean. The bed was like a rock. Couldnt adjust the water temperature in the shower it was either in or off
- Russell (10/5): - Owner was very friendly and offered a restaurant suggestion. Room was clean and warm. Shower had very hot water available which was nice after a day ice fishing. Can’t really go wrong for the price
- Brian (10/5): - This is one of the best hotels I stayed at in a long time
- Brian (10/5): - I recommend that anyone comes to this area stay at the budget host hotel BJ is a great host. The room was very clean. Heat is great all the amenities work as they should. I give it 10 out of 10 stars.
- Christina (6/5): - Beds are hard as rocks
- T2173GXlisam (10/5): Planning to stay again! - I was in Iron Mountain for a couple of days for work and just needed a place to sleep. This place got the job done and I'm planning to stay there again in a month. It is an older motel type of property. I haven't stayed in one in a really long time and found it refreshingly easy to park 4 steps outside the door to my room. The room had older decor, but everything worked and was clean. The shower had good pressure. The bed was comfortable. There is coffee in the office in the morning staring at 6:30 and the owner offered a coffee maker for my room if I wanted it. The couple who own it are very helpful and friendly. It isn't fancy or luxury, but will stay there again for work next month.
- Cindy (10/5): - Nice clean affordable stay!!!
- Wayne (10/5): - Everything was great
- claudialM6639IF (8/5): Comfortable stay large room - A last minute stay near-ish Apostle Islands. Was hoping for the best and it was delivered. Clean, comfortable quiet - and larger than most - room. If I am in the area again I would stay here. Easy check in/out. Made for a stress-free stay.
- Marcel (8/5): - ok
- Matthew (10/5): Look no Further! - The owner is kind and friendly and hard working. I enjoyed my stay and will return.
Look no further when in Iron Mountain.
- Deanne (8/5): Nice surprise! - Small mom and pop motel! Clean, comfortable. No frills but great for a quick overnight!
- hdstormriders (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Stayed over the July 4th weekend on a motor cycle road trip with my wife. Great place for a stop for us. Just about every other place around was $250 or more for a one night stay- I didn’t want to make a downpayment on the place- just stay the night. This motel for our needs perfectly. Old style motor inn, where you park in front of your room, just the way I like it. The room was clean and comfortable. The inn keeper is very personable. Is it fancy? N be ope. Does it give you what you need for a nights stay? Absolutely! So, if you need fancy- get out your wallet and make a downpayment on one of the other chain motels in town. We stayed for about $75 bucks and in no way regret it.
- Craig (8/5): - Very affordable motel. The bed in room 21 is very uncomfortable.
