Guest Reviews
- anne marie (10/5): - This view was over the top spectacular! Rooms big, balcony area perfect, found blue starfish in water! Staff very attentive. Food and drinks scrumptious đ
- Doug (10/5): - Each room looks out to the ocean. The beds are king sized. The staff was super friendly and helpful at cooking adventures for us. The food in the restaurant at the hotel is made fresh and has local and international options. The pool is clean. The hotel sits on a reef with tide pools. We would love to come back and stay again
- Sarah (10/5): - Loved our stay at Eden Resort, we stayed in room 7, they have 10 large well appointed rooms, with large spacious balconies, each with a panoramic view of the ocean, rooms are clean, nicely furnished, with a comfy bed, sitting area, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a mini bar. The bathroom had plenty of hot water, however the water pressure wasn't very good and the shelves both in the shower and over the sink were useless as they sloped. The restaurant was comfy with a nice view and food was tasty. The pool was sparkling clean and a lovely place to chill out.The staff were very friendly and helpfull and arranged transport to Oslob to dive with the Whale sharks. This hotel rightly receives high review scores, as it is a great place to spend a few quiet days chilling out, however, we were rather shocked to find they have recently opened a Techno Bar just above the resort, every Saturday they hold a Techno Rave party and blast out the duf duf music until at least midnight, not at all in keeping with the quiet ambience, so just be aware if you are visiting on a Saturday, ask for room 7 to 10 which arent as affected by the noise.
- Richard (10/5): - Nice place to stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay. Great service, so and relaxed.
- RICHARD (10/5): - Beautiful hideaway, had problems finding a international atm and not much grocery options. The food was great and close to the whale sharks. Bring pesos no money changer. But it was a beautiful ocean view Dumaguete off in the distance..
- Shawn (10/5): - Great views
- Felix (8/5): - Very good
- Felix (10/5): - Great customer service
- lisa (10/5): Hidden treasure - The Eden Resort is a treasure. The location and staff are amazing. A big shout out to Luz for all her help.
If you ask they will help arrange a ride to and help with a Whaleshark dive adventure.
The resort has an on site restaurant that will also deliver to your room if asked.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice place always
- Dustin (8/5): - We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and upon arrival we were absolutely blown away. The views from our room were stunning, and the room was very good size. The units are 2 per bungalow so very little interaction with other guests. We loved having a patio overlooking the water, and the pool was warm, huge and very refreshing, especially the blended drinks we ordered (PHP150) from the poolside bar area. The wood fires pizza was delicious, although interesting since it appears they use ketchup for pizza sauce. We also appreciated the hotel is in a very private area with no traffic.
This hotel is the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of busy cebu/mactan. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and we felt very welcome. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing place understanding the following (which for the most part didn't effect our stay, we just had come from a brand new hotel in Oslob with a lower nightly rate):
- the hotel was likely ahead of its time and extremely nice, however needs some maintenance throughout;
- room WiFi didn't work it was slower than our roaming 4G phone service, so not good for a working traveler;
- bathroom is extremely dim and not well lit for any type of getting ready or makeup. No bidet & very slow flushing toilet;
- our shower had large spider webs in the corners;
- our unit AC unit didn't get cold so was very very warm to sleep, almost a sleepless night;
- Christopher (10/5): - Always a great place to stay!
- Nikhil (10/5): - Located in a secluded area, this resort is an excellent place to stay if you want to have a peaceful time.. Close to the whaleshark dive spot and few waterfalls too.. Nice and courteous staff as well.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Jonaluke (10/5): - SUCH A GREAT PLACE TO DISTRESS
- Rochelle (10/5): - Itâs a beautiful resort with nice view. Staff are friendly and approachable. Itâs clean just few minor fix to be done. If you are planning to go to Whale shark at Oslob this is best resort just 10mins drive. We had amazing time, pool with stunning view.
- Christopher (10/5): - Great place!
- Austin (10/5): - Eden resort was quite nice and the staff was very accommodating. The proximity to Oslob made for some fun days seeing Tumalog falls, whale shark watching, and Sumilon island snorkeling. Great ocean views from the room's balcony, pool, and dining area were truly amazing. A nearby ferry to and from Dumaguete was also very convenient. Highly recommend.
- Hsing (6/5): - The hotel is actually nice âfor the areaâ and the staff very kind. The only reason I canât give a higher rating is bc there was no hot water. We found out very early when we checked in and there still wasnât any hot water when we checked out. This is a huge issue bc itâs very hot and humid and so we must shower in the cold water.
- Ronaldo (8/5): - Nice place for relaxation. Service is superb
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice little gem in the south - We were all alone at the resort, service was good and food as well. Initially there was a misunderstanding regarding the payment (they had an email saying it wasn't paid when I had clearly already paid through Hotels which my booking and email indicated), in the end it was sorted though but just kind of odd experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A Beautiful Resort with friendly staff just like the garden of Eden. The room is big with full glass wall overlooking the ocean. The balcony outside is superb to relax and enjoy the view and breeze. Each of the staff member is so friendly, we received smiles and greetings from the receptionist, housekeepers, the men cleaning the pool and ground, and the dive shop owner. They know when is a good time to snorkel off their beach and provide good advise on what to do when COVID-19 restrictions were imposed (helping guest change plans to visit Aguinid Falls before it closed). A big thank you to all the staff at Eden. We will definitely be back and recommend others to stay at Eden.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The view from the room was very beautiful and breakfast was good.
- Lily (8/5): Free BUT limited - FREE WiFi turn out to be 1G ONLY. Suggest to make it clear in the hotel description. Shower water was low flow.
Other than the above, staff were helpful and sweet.
- Jackie (10/5): - This is a wonderful little resort that I would not hesitate to recommend. The rooms are nice, large, have comfortable beds and a big deck with nice views. The staff are courtious, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and arrived quickly. The infinity pool is lovely, well maintained and has a great view. There are lots of adventurous things to do in the area. You canât Go wrong staying here!
- Mark (8/5): Generally good place to stay while seeing w-sharks - Overall a really nice stay.
Hotel: staff were very friendly, the room with the balcony had a nice view of the sunset and the food was mostly good. The pool was small but clean with a small area to sunbathe that overlooked the same view of the sea and sunset.
Area: the âprivate beachâ isnât really a beach that you can sunbathe on. There is a small beach with a bit of sand around the corner for a small entrance fee. The hotel does have access though to a half decent snorkelling area. The shelf is about 100m out and there can be a current, but we saw a decent amount of fish and a few turtles. Other than this, there isnât anything else in the area and it seems that most people that stay there are doing so with a view to go to the whale shark watching in oslob.
Whale Sharks: go early. It takes about 30 minutes from the hotel. We left at 5:30am and arrived at 6:00am. They start sending boats out 6:00am but people are there waiting earlier. Others that arrived at 5:30am went out at 6:00am. We, however, had to wait for about 2.5 hours.... so ask the hotel if you can leave earlier than 5:30am.
The hotel is good for just spending a few days snorkelling and seeing the whale sharks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice environment and staff.
Still help us takeaway early breakfast at 4am
The food menu limited choice and the air conditioner not so cold
- Christine (8/5): Wonderful view, lovely staff, food needs improved! - The rooms at Eden Resort all face the ocean which is lovely - sitting on the balcony listening to the waves coming in is so peaceful and relaxing! The rooms are simply but tastefully decorated, and very clean. The staff were all lovely, from the moment I was checked in until the moment I left - the staff in the restaurant/bar were always smiling and friendly, the staff at the dive shop (Rafael and Ronald) were brilliant, and Ronald even took me and a couple of other guests around Dumaguette one afternoon which was great! Transport was always arranged promptly, and when I asked if I could have my breakfast late after swimming with the whale sharks that was not an issue.
The only thing I would say is that the food could be improved. It was pretty simple, which is ok, but the meat was quite often overcooked and a bit dry. For such a lovely place in a gorgeous setting with great staff, the food let it down a little bit for me. It "filled a hole" but could have been so much better.
Overall though, a wonderful place to stay, and I would not hesitate to go back again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good enough. Awesome room view. Very quite and peaceful area.
- Lars (10/5): - Second time at eden this year, one of the nicest hotels on Cebu. I will stay again In February
- mike (10/5): - This place is a great value and a hidden gem of a hotel. I travel all over the world and all over the islands here in the Philippines and found the Edwin resort to be an outstanding value . Well designed , well maintained , spacious rooms, friendly staff.
- Trond Arne (8/5): Perfekt stay for whalshark - Room look amsing abd have nice loiation, and price is ok, and food is good, only one part I thrink should be better and that is cleaning in kitchen and resuant. Feel this hotel realy can be awersome.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place. Quiet, good food and great service.
- Wanpaphasiri (10/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay at Eden - We picked Eden resort as we wanted to do whale shark snorkelling and Kawasan falls. The resort helped us with getting a scooter which we picked up from the resort itself so we were able to do what we wanted on our own, Location was great for that.
Staff were friendly and helpful, our room was clean, and we had a beautiful view from our balcony.
The food was ok, I am vegan and they were able to accommodate alternative options for breakfast.
- Hong (10/5): We had a great time - The resort is a beautiful tranquil hideaway with beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was great with daily specials. The corals off the resort is healthy and colourful. The dive shop on site was very convenient. From the resort one can easily go to whale shark watching, Sumilon island and many waterfalls in the region.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect hotel and location. If you are going to be visiting Oslob this is right next door and you can hire a tricycle driver to pick you up and drop you back off. The hotel balconies are amazing to watch the sunset and hear the waves crash on the shore.
- qh (10/5): Quiet Hotel with Amazing View - nice hotel room with amazing sea views. The location is about 20min drive from Oslob whale shark. It is self sufficient therefore you can have your meals at the restaurant. Food is average with reasonable price and portion. The sunset view is great from the infinity pool.
- Beata and Gilles (8/5): Good for a day relaxing by the pool - View from the room and pool- amazing! Good size bedroom.
Affordable and good restaurant on site to get a lunch/dinner. Breakfast very basic. Hotel is far from everything so its only good for a relaxing day by the pool and views. Free water. There is nothing to do in Santander, just a village. Approx 30 mins by motorbike from Oslob. Diving in the hotel highly overpriced. I arranged with Deep Dive Centre in Oslob diving with whale sharks and they pick me up for free from the hotel. Also highly recommend them.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Hotel - The rooms are splendid, the pool is beautiful and the food at the restaurant is sensational.
They have an extensive menu and new specials every day.
It's a great place to relax.
the only negative is that they really are not good at organizing trips. We went online and did things on our own. They did help us to book at scooter :)
- Elaine (10/5): Very nice and clean hotel to relax. - Has infinity pool, good breakfast choice, all rooms with ocean view, quiet, friendly and helpful staff.
- Paul (10/5): - All very good. 5 star service in the province.
- Jeff (6/5): Intimate And Private Resort! - If you're looking for a small and quiet resort, this is it. Breathtaking views on a private balcony in a private building! So spacious. Outstanding audio system and did I say spacious? On-site spa.
Small staff made for a bit of a wait. Room had an insect problem. I had my laundry and sweets covered with hundreds of ants after only a few hours of checking in.
Great! 7.5/10*
- Geradine (10/5): A touch of class with breathtaking views - It was one of the best hotel stays. A fab classy spacious bungalow type rooms very tastefully furnished. There is also a fab infinity pool and a small toddler pool. Ala carte and breakfast was brilliant in choice and quality. Ideal location for seaport and various attractions. Hotel also has a dive shop attached for activities such as diving, snorkelling, kayaking etc. There are steps leading to the coral sea area just below the bungalow for those who love shell and coral hunting. All I can say is it's haven to relax after hot days out. 5 stars in my opinion.
- Miguel (10/5): One of the best hotels I have stayed - One of the best hotels I have been at. VERY friendly staff
- Arlene (6/5): Great for short stay to swim with the whalesharks - It was a place that has a fantastic view of the ocean. Perfect distance to whale watching and swimming with the whale sharks. It is secluded and good for short stay only. The food was not that great but the staff were awesome!
- Ho (8/5): Nice resort, near to the beach - It is the best resort in that area, very clean, well maintained, but choices of breakfast is limited, lunch or dinner cost around 300 peso.
- Kathryn (10/5): Little piece of paradise - It's the perfect place to stay if you want to swim with the Sharks. The venue is magical. It's a quaint little place perfect for those who want to escape the rat race. I wish we stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Best Resort in Oslob - Best resort to stay for whale shark viewing in Oslob. Room was clean and large. Massages were very good and cheap. Friendly staff and excellent customer service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful place to stay . - Great place to stay overlooking the beach with clean washroom .. The staff are friendly and welcoming .. I would recommend this ace
