Guest Reviews
- Enzlag (10/5): -
- Jamie (3/5): Poor -
- Sochen (7/5): Good -
- Aaron (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were lovely, tuk-tuk driver for the hotel was the nicest guy ever, drove us wherever we wanted always for good prices and was as good as any tour guide
- Hokuto (10/5): - There were no particular problems. I think the room is worth the price.
- Hannah (8/5): Good location (1km from pub street), friendly staff and great value for money. - We loved the staff, we got a free pickup from our bus from Bangkok. The driver waited for us for nearly 2 hours because we were late with the bus. He helped us with the Angkor wat tour and it was wonderful. The staff kept our bags the last day until our sleeper bus came to get us. It was perfect. AIRCON!!!! Loved it! The bed was comfy and clean. The facilities are a bit old, it is not like the pictures. For backpackers like us it is totally fine and seriously good value for money! The toilet wasn’t cleaned properly when we came and the shower kept dripping nonstop.
- Alice (8/5): Good for a short stay in Siem Reap - Good location, good size rooms with private bathroom and hot water. The pool was refreshing. Aircon was a pay extra and the pool size has been reduced so doesn’t look like the pictures. A fair few mosquitoes too.
- Morgan (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay ❤️ clean and friendly environment !
- Attila (7/5): Good value for money and it is near to attractions within town (not the temples) - The location is very good. Near to all the places one wants to go (except the temples as they are far from the town). We could rent pushbikes for $5/day and they were pretty good. There are bicycle roads in town and they are kept in good condition. With the bikes one can comfortably visit the temples. The staff could have been a bit more open to help us. We asked a couple of things to be sorted and they seemed a bit reluctant to help us out. Only one of the could speak English and in the "kitchen" area we saw a rat....
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - If there is any bad feedback about this place don't trust it!
We had a great staying at Five Rose. The room was fine and the owners gave us a great support with renting the motorbike and was very flexible with the timing (both arrival and departure). They have been very gentle from the very beginning.
Last but not least..there is a swimming pool, a refreshing touch after visiting the surroundings.
We would suggest this place also to families.
- George (8/5): The staff here at amazing - The staff was unbelievable Nothing it was great
- Carla (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carla (6/5): Nice staff - Staff The pictures are so different from the place.
They are irreal.
The place is very simple.
There a dirty small kitchen to use it.
There is no refrigerator to hosts( I asked to reception keep in her fridge )
- Sai (6/5): Pleasant -
- Guillaume (8/5): - Assez bien situé (en dehors de l'agitation), petit hébergement sympa.
Le gros plus : la literie impeccable
Le petit moins : la piscine ne donne pas très envie
- Isabella (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pascal (8/5): A very nice stay to visit the astonishing Angkor - The owner and staff are juste amazing. They are extremely nice and helpful to organize different tours for very good price and value. It is highly recommended to check with them. Just don’t trust the pictures of the hotel, the swimming pool is half smaller now, there is no bar or restaurant anymore and the whole place is somehow oldish.
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (2/5): Very poor -
- Seçi̇l (1/5): Berbat korkunç - The hotel was very old, neglected and bad. the sheets were full of stains. They may not have been washed. The towel had changed color from dirt. There wasn't enough room to step in the bathroom. We took a shower behind the door. There were insects in the room They suggested that we buy the bus ticket there to go to Bangkok. We gave 60 dollars in cash and bought tickets for the 02:45 bus. We were ready at 02:00. We waited for the bus until 03:30, but no one came. We returned to the hotel with our own means. There was no one at the reception. We found the key where we left it and were able to enter our room. In the morning we explained the situation and asked for our money. They didn't give it back. We said we would call the police, they agreed to give half. the hotel sucks. You cannot buy any tickets there. scammers.
- Nikar (7/5): Good -
- Roxanne (6/5): It's all okay. - Near the center.
- Ema (8/5): Very good -
- Jassal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ok for traveling alone - The room I originally booked doesnt have air condition, only fan. So I paid 4$ and moved to the room which has air condition.
Not the best place but fair enough with the price. If i am not alone, i am with family or girl friend I will not stay here. But travel alone, it one of cheapest option to stay.
Swimming pool was super small and not clean.
- Anna (9/5): Superb - The free pick up from the Bus station was really good and the driver is very nice.
The location is perfect, only 10 Minutes of walk from the Pub Street- so close enough to go but also good for having a quiet time.
There are good restaurants/ Cafés around.
The owner is very friendly and kind. Even as we didn't stay at the Hostel, we could bring our luggage and take a shower before going to the Bus station (we have been completly wet and full of Babypowder from new year celebration). Thank you so much for it✌️
- Cristo (7/5): Clean enough place, lots of mosquitoes. AC doesn't work well. But you get what you pay for. - The price was good. Clean enough, could spend a little more time and cleaning the place, but for backpackers its fine. The beds were comfortable enough. LOTS of Mosquitoes here. AC couldn't adjust more than ON/OFF.
- Timothy (6/5): Pleasant enough but dated. Needs updating. - The location away from the busier parts of the town. Also, not near all the noise on pub street but still walkable. Great vegetarian restaurants nearby: the Haven and Banlle vegetarian restaurant. Also great vegetarian food at Lotus Dosa Corner. Pool was also good but a bit too much chlorine and smaller than in the pictures. It’s all looking a bit tired and needs a refresh. Hire bikes need a service desperately. The early morning staff were slow to help and a bit dour. Senior staff were very accommodating and friendly though.
- Kika (6/5): Not worth the money, room was alright but facilities very bad - Rooms were nice and clean. Most good restaurants are at 15 min walking distance. The staff was very good and kind. The hotel/ hostel was not really like the pictures. The swimming pool looks bigger on photos because there are 6 beds next to it and in reality there are 3 beds. There was no pool table, the bar looked like it hadn’t been used in years and the ceiling at the “restaurant” was falling down. For the price you pay there is much better you can find.
- Ilya (3/5): Cheap, and if you will be lucky you receive a proper room - Very cheap When we arrived reception person told us that our room is not available due to air-conditioning issues
So they will give us a temporary one, which is basically ex-hostel big room (definetly there were 3x2 floor beds)
Next day when I ask about a normal room - the answer were “after cleaning 1pm” (and not after reparation), so I believe actually it was occupied by other people, but not conditioner issues.
Also note that there are 2 floors there, and on the first floor all windows are boarded up.
- Ruby (7/5): Good - The staff was kind and welcoming, rooms where clean and service was good. The pool and common areas were well kept and they offered scooter and bike rental service. They also have a travel desk. When we arrived in town they couldn't arrange the pick up service for us but we got a tuk tuk via grab and they paid for it, very nice of them. From booking it appears that the place has a restaurant and a pretty big pool. When we got there the staff greeted us and they were very good, but we discovered they haven't got a restaurant anymore (so you have to go somewhere else for breakfast etc) and the pool size has been drastically reduced when the town renewed the road in front of the building. Nothing bad to say here, except they should update this details on booking, the pictures of the pool can be misleading.
- David (9/5): Superb - The hotel was really nice and clean. The staff were helpful and hospitable Do not book any onward travel through the hostel. The company they work with is awful and make for a terrible journey.
- Gab (8/5): Very good -
- ROBERT (8/5): Bien dans l ensemble - Bien dans l ensemble, acceuil sympathique et disponible,a 15/20 minutes du centre a pied, petite piscine mais agréable apres une bonne journée a angkor, bon rapport qualité prix
- Mehrangez (10/5): - Good location but hard to find the hotel itself. Lovely receptionist girl, she helped me to find location and gave late check out because of my flight :)
- Regina (5/5): Misleading photos but quiest hotel ever - It was the quiest hotel we've been in Siem Reap. We asked for a room with silence and we could sleep and it was enough far from the street. Swimming pool is completely different from the pictures. Way smaller and you can't even swim of how small, just literally dip in. Only 3 chaise long instead of 6 as I saw in the pictures, and no sun deck or garden whatsoever. Big big disappointment. The pool seems to be the same tho but pictures maybe adultered. Everything else was fine.
- Nithin (9/5): Superb -
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Etienne (10/5): We loved this place! The staff was so friendly and relaxed. No noises at all and a patio/garden full of beautiful pl -
- Maria (10/5): - It was just perfect. Nice friendly people, top service,
- Ross (7/5): Great location, staff friendly, shower pressure needs fixing - Very quiet location only 10 minutes from the main areas and close to the bus station. Really friendly staff, large clean bedrooms, swimming pool. Shower was very poor, either cold or scolding hot. The pressure was also way too high which made it painful to shower. We had to take the head of and use as a hose
- Tal (9/5): Very Good -
- Kenichi (5/5): Passable -
- Sebastian (10/5): Good place - The people at the hotel were very nice and friendly. Not the fanciest hotel but everything was alright
- Spencer (9/5): Awesome 😎 - Great location , friendly staff 😸 , easy access to everything , gym nearby with sauna (Angkor fitness) 5 min walk . Pub street very near . Comfy bed , cheap rental for bike scooter . I will stay again ! Also very safe location Maybe paint the room in areas touch it up
- Bastian (7/5): Good - They accepted an early check-in (~10AM) ; possibilities to rent motorbike and book bus tickets at quite cheap prices Sheets were not very clean (many stains)
- Kevin (7/5): Good -
- Amelia (5/5): Nice location - Good location and has shops and restaurants in good walking distance. Helpful young man at reception. The room itself is very basic, not too bad but the bathroom isn’t great.. big vent at the top that can easily allow mosquitoes through and the shower was awful! It literally felt like a pressure washer. Ok value for money if you are only staying for 1-2 nights
- Camille (7/5): Good - Well located in Siem Reap. Helpful staff. The swimming pool is very small compared to the photograph. There was strong noises close to our room due to a water leakage outside, and also when it is raining.
- Gianpaolo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - Good location, great value, friendly staff
- Federico (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (8/5): Great value for money - The staff were so lovely and the location was really good, the pool was perfect as the weather was so hot. It was great value for money. The room was fairly big and we had our own bathroom even though we paid for a shared one so that was great. When we booked online it said that all the rooms had air conditioning which is true but if you want the remote to turn the AC on you have to pay an extra $3 per day which would've been half of the price of our room so we decided to just make do with the fan. Also during the week we were there the room was never serviced once so we had to keep asking for toilet roll and didn't get a change of towels!
- Nisan (8/5): Very good - We really like the hotel and the staff. They were really lovely and helpful. The ceiling of the room was very high so it gives lots of expanse to the space. The bed was not soft but comfortable. The pool is small but refreshing enough and they're cleaning it very often. Afterall we enjoyed our stay here and recommend easily.
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - I really loved the staff, the room and the swimming pool! They even kept our backpacks for a few days for us to go on the scooter without weight. They are really incredible! Nothing even if something is not working they are fixing it straight away. They are amazing.
- Jane (10/5): Little gem in Siem Reap - We loved our stay here. Tin was very helpful and was nice to talk to. All of the other staff were really friendly and helpful too. The room was huge and an absolute bargain! We slept really well. The Hostel is more like a hotel/guesthouse with lots of activities that they can arrange for you, we booked Phare circus (really good!!) with them and it was really easy. We rented the bikes for a cheap price and they were really nice to cycle. We really liked it's location, an easy 15 minute walk to Pub street (all flat and no hills). It was nice and quiet but still very close to the edge of the main tourist area (about 8 mins walk). The pool was really nice! It's not massive but is a really nice spot to relax with the beautiful pink flowers and comfy sun loungers. Even if we came back with a bigger budget, we would stay here again. Nothing
- Sonia (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, super convenient when you arrive early by nightbus as they open the Gate and give you a room straigt away if there is no customer.
Sweet little pool to refresh After a hot day
- Nelly (9/5): Superb - The staff was more than kind and there for anything you need. I was almost sad to be leaving. The room was very clean, very simple and pretty big with nice bathroom. The pool was a great addition to our stay and made it even better! The location was ok. I feel that we were on the wrong side of the river for visiting all the night markets, pub street, etc… Despite that, it was a three minute drive from the hotel.
- Ee (9/5): Superb -
- Siha (7/5): Very good keep up the good work! - The location was accessible to many places.
The price range was moderate and not that expensive.
The staff were accommodating and friendly. Some insects were found in the lavatory.
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Annabel (9/5): Perfect stay at Five Rose with great customer service - We had the best stay at Five Rose, out of all the hotels and hostels I booked on my trip Five Rose were the most responsive with communication and gave great recommendations.
They arranged a tuk tuk driver for us to go around Angkor Wat on the day, which was ideal.
The staff were very helpful in every way. We arrived in the morning after taking a night bus and they let us store our luggage and take a shower. Our room was even ready before lunchtime so we could check in straight away which was really convenient.
The room was clean and large, the bed was comfy and the air con was good (a must!)
The pool looked nice to have a dip in but we didn't get a chance to use it during our stay.
I would definitely recommend Five Rose and would stay there again without hesitation!
- Milena (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly and helpful staff! Always tried to make us more comfortable (tea), some talking, we could book bustickets and motorbike at the front desk.
Room was nice, we even got a free upgrade, pool was good to cool down in the heat of the day.
Thank you for the very nice stay with you!
- David (9/5): Second time arround and only positive things to say. - I've stayed here before. Friendly staff and convenient location. Rooms are clean and good value for money. I'll be back. N/A
- Jacqui (9/5): A well-priced, comfy and convenient hotel which we definitely recommend! - This little guesthouse was well-located, great value and run by a delightful family. The facilities ticked all the boxes - and we loved the pool! Recommended for sure!
- Nguyen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (7/5): Good value for moneu - Our second room (the one we booked) was very comfy and clean
Good value for money They overbooked so for our first night we were moved (downgraded) to a triple room which was very dirty and the aircon didnt really work
A bit out of the way from the centre
- Rolando (8/5): - I like the people in the reception. very accomodating and friendly. the place is near the park, cafe, pharmacy. the room is clean, the water supply is good, there is hot water in the shower. Recommendable to others ..
- Marie (8/5): Nice memories and lovely Bougainvillea flowers growing up the wooden house - Traditional Khmer house with friendly helpful staff Wi-Fi in the room was weak but fine outside
- Jake (9/5): great value for money - very comfortable room and bed, the pool was also perfect to cool down in after a day of sight seeing nothing! :) the only thing I would say is that there could have been more sun loungers around the pool
- Tony (9/5): Superb - Nice room, nice pool, nice staff.
- Radim (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Prem (2/5): Very poor -
- Nicole (10/5): Wonderful! - Everything! Great location to town, markets and restaurants. The staff are so helpful and lovely to speak with. Da worked on reception and was wonderful! The room was spacious, very clean and water in-room. Price was reasonable and Wi-Fi was great. Overall, an excellent stay and I would definitely stay again. Tv was a bit small but it worked perfectly fine.
- Basile (8/5): Very good - Staff is very kind
- Michal (5/5): Passable - Nice and welcoming service I understand that covid Times took a toll on the business here but ive been staying in so many places in Siem Reap and only this one is so terribly innacurate with what is shown on the Pictures.
Forget about the swimmingpool shown on the page, rooms (espacially walls) have seen better Times and should be painted.
Receptionist told me they have plans to update the Pictures on booking.com.
I do hope so cause for the time being its Just unfair to keep the Old ones.
I paid 13$ for a room and have my budget been destroyed - no. Not at all.
Can you have better options for less in Siem Reap - certainly Yes
- Eva (5/5): ok - good location with big room the mattress was a little too hard for me and the room could be made a bit more cozy. the noise however was keeping us up at night until midnight and got us up before 7am. the room above us has wooden floor so we could hear everything from waking, jumping around and talking, laughing and shouting.
the pool also looks different and smaller than on the pictures however you can still use it to dip and cool down
- Robert (8/5): good and recommend - The hostel was clean and Soukaun ( the guy on reception) was very friendly and helpful at all times.
The hostel seemed busy but there was no actual noise. we had a really good sleep and the bed was comfortable. We stayed in a private twin room and it was big with an extra bed. nothing
- Lukas (4/5): Disappointing - good location, cheap price bad condition, rooms not as described
- Orlando (7/5): Good - Friendly people Service roomcleaning
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaimee (8/5): Good hotel thank you - Nice and helpful staff, rooms were spacious too Thin walls and floors as they are just wooden beams you can hear people walking. not too disruptive as not many people come home late when we stayed
- Emma (10/5): Fantastic central spot w friendly staff - arrange trips n scooters - great fun outdoor snooker table - Great staff very helpful n/a
- Alessandro (7/5): Good -
- Heng (4/5): Disappointing -
- Deep (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vin (8/5): Everything went smooth - The location is good cause it's not too close the the bars so it's pretty quiet in the evening. They provide amenities. I didn't try the tv in the room by the way. Bring mosquito spray. The bathroom is small, when taking shower it'll get the toilet and sink wet.
- Beatrix (9/5): fab value for money - -pool
-great location
-super soft bedding, it was a dream
-price -as everywhere we visited in Cambodia you had to be sat on the toilet to wash your hair on the shower
-make sure you tell staff about a 4am depart to ensure gates are unlocked
- Anonymous (9/5): stayed one night moved to another hotel due to wanting a swimming pool to swim in . - it was cheap and clean , close to city centre. the pool was so tiny dipped my toe in as rest of me would not fit :) joking it half a pool so ok as dip pool not swim pool.
- Amy (8/5): Good for the value - Had everything we needed. Would stay again.
- Rhys (7/5): Good -
- Edwin (9/5): Superb -
- Phanith (7/5): Was an okay stay - The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. Location is pretty close to town. There was a swimming pool as well. The room I stayed in was okay for the price I paid for. The room was pretty basic. There was a TV and aircon that works just fine. Toilet was clean. The room could use some renovation. The electric went off when I was in the shower, but the staff was helpful to turn it back on real quick. Wasn't a big deal. Swimming pool has very little privacy as the pool is to next the fense with open street without any blind barrier for privacy. In the room, I could hear every step the people on the top floor walking all the time which will effect how people sleep. In the end, it is a budget place, I could not ask for more. Recommend this place if all above is alright with you.
- Hannah (7/5): Good - Located between Angkor Wat and city center. You can walk 20 min to center and drive 20 min to Angkor Ticket Office by motorbike. Doesnt look like the pictures. Rent a motorbike is quite expensive at Hostel. Smelly bathroom.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grzegorz (9/5): Superb - The pool isn't the biggest, but it's clean and it's great after a full day of sightseeing.
The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
The WiFi is fast and reliable.
The staff is very nice. Google claims that the hostel is located at a one way street (11.2022). Unfortunately, it isn't.
The street can be noisy when you chill at the pool.
- Leak (5/5): Passable - the AC was not working
