Guest Reviews
- oliver (5/5): Very old, somewhat clean, aggressive dogs, unfriendly - The rooms were a good size. I had different rooms and I liked the big windows in the older rooms.
The rooms seemed fairly clean despite everything being old and broken. Pai is very dry, so many things are dry and dusty. That is not the hotel's fault. But the website photos are very, very misleading. The hotel is old and everything is very rundown.
I didn't like the 2 large dogs barking (aggressively) at me every time I walked in. If a hotel has dogs, they should at least train them to accept guests.
Pool is very cloudy. (If that's due to the salt/cleaning product, they should put a sign saying that.)
Hotel looked very empty, but when I arrived at 1pm, they said that I could not check-in until 2pm. (Baring in mind that it's 37 degrees outside, 300+ pm2.5, the hotel is a 20 minute walk from the town, and the government has sent warnings to everyone's phone saying it's dangerous to be outside.) I've not experienced that in Thailand before.
- Pornpak (9/5): Good accomodation - Comfortable In the bed room some area not clean much
- Tristan (9/5): -
- Volfgang (7/5): 3 night stay in Pai near walking street - Staff provided double bed for us, resort common area, room size, bathroom size, Air conditioner didn't work in heat mode, it was very cold in the room; a bit pricy; strong smoke from the neighbour's garden.

- cyndie (8/5): -
- Doron (3/5): - Location Not a good maintenance
- Erik (6/5): - Room was dirty, not well cleaned and I found many long hairs.
I woke up every single day of the noise of bike engines roaring.
- Ilse (6/5): -
- Duane (8/5): Nice place just outside the walking street. Staff were excellent and the room was clean and affordable. - Conveniently located in a quiet area. Affordable and clean.
- Bella (9/5): Would absolutely stay here again if I was looking for a more relaxing stay with a pool! - Great location just outside of the main bustle but walkable still. Staff were very kind and helpful, super flexible too. Pool is divine and surrounded by trees, really clean and private little rooms. Would absolutely stay here again. Facilities are very clean and tidy

- Sarah (10/5): Excellent place 😎 - Close to Main Street but nice and quiet to sleep 😴 lovely staff and clean rooms with hot showers. Nothing
- Lola (9/5): Every time I come to Pai I book this hotel. - Staff is great, the place is really chill and calm. The room was cleaning every day.
- Victor (8/5): - Удобное месторасположение, близко к центру. Тихое место. Старые номера требуют обновления.
- Natalia (7/5): Good value for money, don’t expect 5 star hotel. - Very quiet location, spacious rooms.
Comfortable enough beds, great shower pressure.

- Stéphane (9/5): Série vraiment sympa dans un petit village très charmant - L’emplacement était top et le personnel très aimable Pas mal de moustiques mais indépendant de l’hôte
- Leor (1/5): The place charges 500 THB, while here I was charged 585! - Still trying to understand how come I was charged 585 THB via booking, yet the hotel only charges 500 THB!
Also, the hotel itself was quite poor. Pool was rather disgusting and room was average at best.
- Marie (3/5): Poor -
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Near to walking street. The pool was amazing and staff were friendly.

- markcM4106ZJ (6/5): Let down by Service again, otherwise great - Arrived last week in February for a 5 night stay, arrived at nightfall after 3 hour trip on mountain roads from Chiang Mai, site is situated 5- 10 minutes out of town on Walking street, although I walked straight passed on arrival, the place is cute chalets in campsite type resort with canopies of trees and swimming pool. The site is far enough out of Pai for it to be quiet and waking up is lovely as al the strange sounds etc make you feel like you are waking up in a jungle, only basic Thai channels on TV, now for the bad part, after checking in and being surprised, unpacked all my stuff, got settled then went to go out for dinner, door broken, went to reception, they couldn't fix door so they moved me, I had to rush around packing again only to be moved to the next cabin where the walls were dirty, paintings on a slope, Bathroom smelled really badly of damp, substandard furniture and art on walls compared to my chalet, so if you inconvenience a guest, you don't downgrade them, you upgrade them, also no attempt to check on me, see if things were ok and whether I wanted to move back into other chalet which was locked the following day, so average score it is!!!!
- Junghoon (9/5): Superb -
- Meikoon (10/5): Exceptional - Nice...
- Chanisa (4/5): - We’re got a lot of black ants in our bathroom, washed them down with hot water but come back from outside. The bathroom has very bad smell from the drain have to put down wet town on top all the drain.
- Philip (8/5): Good value and location - Close to Pai Walking Street
Very comfortable beds Dated
- Xavier (7/5): Good -
- Naimah (7/5): Good - Location very strategic.Walking distance to night market and halal food Toilet a bit dirty
- Jonathan (10/5): Highly recommended -
- Julie (7/5): Rooms let down this hotel - Location fridge in room , outside are pool. Size of room. Bed, was very hard, water not very hot. Apartment smelt damp,I had to buy airfreshners...only one pillow. Bathroom was horrible to be in.
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jenny (6/5): Basic room out of town centre - Basic rooms but cute vibe. Small porch with a table and chairs. Wet room was basic - warm water not hot. Pool was very small but nice although no cushions on the loungers.
- Reshu (10/5): Cute - The rooms were huge and the property is walking distance from the night market. Also has a swimming pool. Everything was alright.
- Alan (7/5): Good -
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Rachel (10/5): Nice outdoor space to relax - Nice balconies and outdoor area to relax, nice location with an easy walk into town. There are a few open areas to the outdoors from the bedroom where some mesh / glass to stop insects entering would be good.
- Nathalia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dumoulin (3/5): Poor - Good location. Have a swimming pool. Very friendly staff. It was my third stay at this hotel. Usually it is a quiet and peacefull place.
This time, there was a group of 40 people with childrens, very very noisy.
Management didn't have the power to give them respect other guests.
- Beth (7/5): Good - Great size rooms, great location only a short 5 minute walk down to Pai walking street. Very quiet part of Pai. Great value for money, would definitely reccomend
- Anthony (8/5): Very good - nice location no food available on-site
- Tom (7/5): Good -
- Phoebe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Genna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (7/5): it was nice! - chilled atmosphere

nice self contained bungalows with privacy little bit tired/dated

- Bethany (10/5): Exceptional -
- Francis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (7/5): Close to charnchai Muay Thai perfect for me - Cosy treehouse room cleaned as often as every other day Bugs in room
- Trevor (6/5): Ok for the money - Price Needs maintenance
- Lisa (10/5): Great place in Pai - Brilliant hotel bungalow , very clean, good amenities, lovely pool
- Rob (7/5): It was perfectly adequate for what I needed no frills but there was hot water - Location and peaceful Beds were not comfortable
- Chanelle (9/5): Great value for money - The room looks better in person than the pictures and the bed is really comfortable
Location is a 10 minute walk away from walking street
And the hotel gives you 2 bottles of water a day which was good
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Kea (8/5): good stay - the property looks better than the pictures. except the pool. the pool isn’t as nice as the pictures. a bit of a far walk from walking street.
- Isabella (7/5): It was okay despite the circumstances - Good location Our friend who stayed with us at the hostel cut his hand on a loose screw at the bottom of the pool and required stitches and serious medical treatment. Staff refunded our final night as we had to head to Chiang Mai early to go to another doctor but only after we asked multiple times.
- Aisling (4/5): Poor - Not a resort, not as pictured, very run down not well maintained. Looked as though it used to be nice. Pool is dirty, doors have large gaps that let lizards in during the night.
Shower broken.
Much nicer places in pai for a little more money.
- Emily (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - The room was lovely and spacious and clean! The accommodation also has a nice pool. It is located around a ten minute walk from the center so ideal if you’re looking for a place to relax. There were barely any sun loungers to sit around the pool and relax. One and the other one was all broken then there were two plastic chairs. As this property is located abit far from the center we were hoping to use it more as a place to relax but found nowhere really to sit at the pool. This is an easy fix though: invest in some sun loungers and seats :)
- Consuelo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Charlotte (6/5): Pleasant - Really scenic grounds and had a swimming pool. Good value for money. Ants everywhere in bathroom & walking from pai village at night dogs chase you
- Leonard (4/5): Disappointing -
- Ashley (4/5): Disappointing - location is great, about a 10/15 minute walk to the famous walking street. quiet area. free bottles of water everyday. swimmingpool. staff did not say a word at the check-in, no conversation or explanations at all. first room we got the bedding was not clean at all and a cockroach, so we asked to move. the second room the bedding was better but we had a lot of ants in our bathroom, they were all over the place. shower head was not strong. bed was really hard aswell as the pillow. swimmingpool had only normal chairs to sit on and was dirty the first days. also we had a power outage two days of our stay and they did not mention this at all to us before or even at the check in.
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Turian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vicki (10/5): Lovely hotel - The pool and location. Nothing
- Kirsty (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (4/5): I wasn't expecting this. - The garden and the pool They put me in the worst room. It was all wood (not a nice one) and poorly constructed; kind of an old garden shed. The room was smelly.
- Julien (8/5): Very good - Just a few minutes walk from the main street in Pai, we had a good time relaxing by the pool and the place was exactly what we were looking for.
- Mairead (9/5): chilled out atomosphete - Great location just 10minute walk from the town. really nice atmosphere around the small houses and swimming pool was great ! wish they had more lounge chairs around the pool
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): ok for what we where looking for - quiet place to many tall trees carnt see out
- Monika (9/5): pleasant bungalows, nice garden, calm place to chill - surroundings, garden was beautiful, very nice terrace. easy to reach with scooter, otherwise idk. power sockets did not work ! this is huge disadvantage - nor did kettle ..
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (8/5): It is a nice place, so I would recommend it. - It had a pool, kettle for boiling water and coffee. Location was good - 10 min from the walking street. It was quiet. During night the room was a bit cold, but the blankets were warm.
The bathroom could’ve had a better lighting. It was a big dark.
- Noemi (10/5): Great - The resort is nice. Stuff is very friendly and polite. Comfortable bad. I did not like the curtains as there is a gap on the edge and people who pass by can see through your room.
- Ben (10/5): Lovely Hotel - No idea why there are negative reviews for this place, rooms are lovely, bed really comfy.
- Vicky (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Trabucco (7/5): Good -
- Una (8/5): Nice Room - Nice comfortable room. Good shower pressure. Nice sized pool. 10 min walk from Pai walking street. Room could do with a paint job. Pool area is tired looking with broken loungers and no umbrella as shown in the photos.
- Devaki (8/5): Very good -
- David (8/5): - Comfortable hotel with nice pool in walking distance to city Centre. Would recommend.
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic stay - great value, great staff. - The stag at this place are so helpful and amazing! Cannot fault it at all! Pool was clean, rooms cleaned daily with clean towels. One of the staff even arranged a side car on a bike ride to take me to the bus station for free! I have the lady who kindly took me a tip to say thank you. Great place, great staff! Loved it and would go again!
- Katherine (10/5): Cute and great location - Baan Chokdee is cute and in a great location. It is located right down the street from Pai's walking street which makes getting food or shopping really convenient. The hotel is set up in a cottage/town house style. The room and bathroom were clean and in nice condition. The beds weren't the most comfortable but not too bad. Overall a really good place to stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was nice and we even had a little back patio with a nice view. Only downside is we could here out neighbors TV, conversations and moving around but other than that the room was very nice.
- Amy (2/5): Don't book here. Not a resort! - This place is really bad for the price. Not a resort. No hot water in the showers ( and we had used these kinds of systems right throughout Thailand) , minimal toilet paper - at one point we had to wait an hour for more toilet paper and the staff had an argument about it. We were able to be picked up from the bus station, but the driver didn't turn up to take us back when we left, even though I booked and confirmed with reception, so we had to walk about a kilometre with all our luggage and 3 children in tow and just made the bus back to Chiang Mai! Reception were disinterested, very minimal English, and never once turned up to our room to clean it. The pool is small, but clean. Beds are so hard. Good air-conditioning but no batteries in remotes. There is no food to buy here. Im sure you could get cheaper and better closer to town.
- gesinan (10/5): Friendly staff - The staff we extreamly friendly and accommodating. The AC worked great and kept us cool. I would suggest buying a small room fan if you stay longer then a week. The did an amazing job with the landscape. It has a natural northern jungle feel, with lights along the path for safety. Its well worth the money.
- dibbersinparadise (10/5): Adorable bungalow style hotel, located in a quite part of Pai - I booked this hotel during off-season and I got a really good price on agoda.com. The staff were very kind and friendly to guests, and the grounds were well maintained. There is a small pool in the middle of the property where people can lounge and relax. On the proper, there is a beautiful Afghan Hound that lives at the hotel (I'm assuming it is the owner's/staff dog) and two really friendly cats that hang out near the bungalows.
The rooms were clean and had everything you needed: bottled water, daily housekeeping, TV, hot water, bathroom amenities (shampoo, soap, q-tips, towels). The location is about an 8 minute walk from the walking street. It is peaceful and quiet but close enough to walk to downtown Pai without any issues.
We rented a motorcycle from the front desk without any issues. It was 200 baht per day for a Scoopy motorbike and no deposit required. I would highly recommend this hotel for those looking to have a relaxing getaway in Pai, but within walking distance to the shopping/nightlife/food district.
