Guest Reviews
- Kim Louise (10/5): Tranquil - This is a beautiful resort with an enormous pool. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I came here for a cycling trip and they kindly opened the breakfast 30 minutes early for us. Truly an amazing stay.
- richard (8/5): Awesome location but some issues - Beautiful location with enormous potential. The hotel in general was good amazing pool and right on the river kwai with ppol bar and terrace right on the river.
The food for dinner was good but breakfast was ordinary.
Important point is that the staff are driven hard to push you towards using their own drivers for excursions which can be a bit tiresome.
Very friendly service across the board.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - All of the staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. The facilities were clean, and serene, and the food was delicious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A very nice place. ONLY COMPLAINT was that the food was poor quality for the very expensive prices.
- tore martin (10/5): Lovely place to practice your swimming exercise. - The cleanest and clearest pool in Asia. Lovely.
The garden surrounding the rooms are just so tranquil.
- Ron (10/5): Quiet and peaceful - Really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend it. Only downside was the distance to other restaurants if you didn't want to eat in hotel.
- Philip (10/5): Must go back - I love this hotel everyone is so friendly breakfast is very good swimming pools very good restaurants very good I will be back soon.
But no tea or coffee in room this I find very disappointing.
This hotel is I think wonderful but you must have your own transport as town is 10 minute drive
- Constance (8/5): Prachtig hotel - Prachtig hotel.
- Christopher (10/5): - Staying at this hotel was like staying at a private jungle garden. Very peaceful and relaxing. Staff very friendly as well. Such a nice place, was difficult to want to leave for our tours. Was not within walking distance to different restaurants, however a short taxi ride into town. Resort was very good at helping with procuring transportation, which was usually 200 baht one way. Restaurant on site was also very good with plenty of options/variety (very much enjoyed the fried chicken with lemon). We also took advantage of the spa and pool. Both very relaxing. One thing to take note of, please be patient with the staff as I don't think they get too many English speaking visitors. Can't wait to go back.
- Santipab (10/5): - Everything is good.
- Brad (10/5): - This is a very nice Resort. The food is superb, in fact the best I have had this trip. All staff are very professional and polite. The hotel is located a little out of the city centre, so this hotel is best suited to people with their own transport, I had my own car so it was not a problem for me. Recommend Brad.
- Daniel (8/5): Nice hotel - great staff - Great place, good food and easy access to surrounding area
- Hon Yung (10/5): Good stay! - Fantastic place to stay. Not far from town, about 10 minutes drive. Good breakfast and good staff hospitality. My friend and I enjoy it.
- Timdewit (4/5): Disappointed about this hotel with beautifull pool - At first the hotel is beautifull however swimming is only allowed till 6 Pm.
Breakfast is always the same and bit inspirationless.
Room was ok beds are very hard.. badroom was not very clean and toilet paper was limited.
Hotel is in the middle of knowwhere and charges you 30% more for taxi if you want to go somewhere.
Had the feeling staff is doing there best but management wants to squeese every penny... and this is the feeling you get in general...
- Hushvinderjit (10/5): Looking for a place to relax & unwind, this is it! - Loved this resort & their service. Rooms were big with a balcony, bathroom was decent. Breakfast was great & all their other food was pretty good too. We were a group of 3 couples came to celebrate a birthday & just to relax & unwind. Requested the staff to decorate 1 of the room for the birthday & they did an amazing job, even helped us buy a birthday cake! We did not leave the resort for food or anything, the resort catered everything, even an awesome spa. There is also a nice romantic dinner place located next to the river. It was a perfect place to chill & relax. The resort was covered in greenery & it was such a calm place. Just a tip, bring mosquito/insect repellent. Since its surrounded in greenery, there are mosquito & insects.
- Verified traveler (6/5): not too bad - Hotel itself is good. Good service and nice, clean room, free shuttle service at 10.30 am and 2.30 pm
But expensive food in hotel restaurant, hard to find other restaurants around the hotel.
Far from tourist spots.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid - it’s in the middle of nowhere. - I did a last minute booking with the hotel.. it took me a 100 B from Bangkok to Kanchanburi and double the amount each time I decided to step out even for a meal. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere..
The room was decent but bathrooms is where the issues started.. water getting held up and on.. no tea maker even on asking.. restaurant is expensive and is the only option..
The front office does not understand English and even a question could get you billed for service not wanted..
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing overall - Mattresses were way too hard. Curtains were not black out. Walls are thin enough to hear what's going on next door. Local area is boring. Hotel does not exploit the river with watersport activities for example. Service was good and friendly. Breakfast was below average.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice grounds - Staff are not well enough trained for 4star resort standard. Large percentage of guests speak English so do need staff that are at least conversational in English to cater to this.
Grounds are beautiful and position on river serene but very far from city which is restrictive.
Need to offer less buffet food options to ensure they are hot and fresh
- Mike (6/5): Nice view - Nice view from river dining area.
Food is ok but a lot of deep fried so I f you don't like that look for other place to dine.
Stay away from the spa they don't have a clue how to give a proper Thai massage.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Just hope you don't have a problem! - Should have been a great experience but left on bad terms when we tried to pay our bill and their credit card machine was broken. We were held captive for nearly an hour and none of their staff tried to solve the problem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very nice hotel - Great swimming pool, friendly staff, relaxing location on the river Kwai
- Douglas (6/5): Peaceful, charming but lacks the details - The hotel itself is very charming- quiet, green, scenic, with a fantastic swimming pool. The rooms are simple but inviting with their outdoor terrace and wood walls inside. The location is about a 10 min taxi ride from town which for me was an advantage since it's so quiet and peaceful at the hotel. We had a taxi come each day to go to Kanchanaburi for dinner. The menu in the hotel restaurant was pretty much all "fried", "crispy" or "deep fried" items. I can count on one hand the number of non fried items. (But dining in town is pretty amazing, possibly some of the best meals I had on this trip). The hotel breakfast, in my opinion, is really quite bad by Thailand standards. I have traveled to Thailand over 40 times and stayed at many hotels. The juices are not even freshly squeezed at the breakfast buffet. They are from a container. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Hotel wifi is pretty bad. Not many outlets in the rooms for charging your devices. Anyway for the price of the hotel per night it's best to simply enjoy the pool and the quiet then leave the hotel to eat.
- YI CHENG (8/5): - Breakfast is good.
- Somkiat (10/5): Nice pool, comfortable bed and good breakfast - The hotel looks similar to the picture that shown on cheapticket. The pool is very nice. Breakfast is good and variety. The bed is big and very comfortable.
- Carly (10/5): fantastic in every way. - This hotel really is a little slice of paradise. From the moment we arrived everything was brilliant and all of the staff couldn't do enough to help. On our first night we had a stunning meal down by the river lit only by candles and fairy lights - beautiful! The food was all great, breakfast was different hot options each day and dinner was traditional Thai food and very reasonably priced. This was made even better by the lack of close by options. That said we got the open back taxis everywhere for 100baht pp to town so it's really not hard to get around. We also did a day trip to hellfires pass in a private car and then got the train back via the Wang Po viaduct and famous bridge- this is 100% worth it as you have no need to rush around like the groups do. Reception organised a car for us for the day at around £40.
We also both had massages, these were sublime, the spa therapists were great and add all the little extras including tea while you relax after.
We had one mishap where the sink came away from the wall, we informed reception and went out for the day, when we go back it was as new. The reception again were brilliant here.
If you're visiting the area and want a real change from the hustle and bustle of the urban areas, this really is the place to go.
- Melissa (6/5): Not impressed - The room seemed old and dark. The bed was quite hard which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. The food was below average. The grounds were beautiful yet the property is 15 minutes outside town making it unconventional.
- Jumin (10/5): A relax and enjoyable stay. - Great stay at the hotel where we can relax and enjoy the hotel facilities.
- Jim (10/5): Hotel near the River Kwae - Beautiful resort, very friendly staff and lovely food. Great location to unwind and relax.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice view and decoration, unfriendly - The resort is quite hard to notice since the sign was placed in the opposite side. Staff were hardly smile. The bathroom got some smell from the drain and the room got smell from woods furniture which decorated as traditional Thai. Very clean room and area after all.
- Katherine (8/5): - Our room was basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel gardens and setting by the river are absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Food is excellent and the service polite and friendly although very little English is spoken. This added to the charm for us and we got by with lots of smiles and hand gestures, all part of the fun of travelling. The swimming pool is a great size for swimming lengths or just for cooling off beneath the palms. I had an amazing two hour Thai massage for a fraction of western prices.
There are a couple of small shops and a bar just outside the hotel on quite a busy road but a 10 minute tuk tuk ride will take you to Kanchanaburi.
All in all, a clean, friendly, great value hotel in beautiful surroundings. Thoroughly recommended.
- Martin T (10/5): Fantastic, serene place with soothing waters. - I've been at this hotel in 2010 and 2011. I love to stay here at this hotel with a fabulous breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good vacation - Good stay. Our room over looks the pool. Hotel is nice and quiet, good for relaxation, but also not too far from main attractions. Our air conditioner broke in the middle of the night, though staff were promptly switch us to a different room just a few doors down. The beds are very springy and not very comfortable. It's ok for a night or two stay.
- ameed (8/5): Nice resort - This resort was good for relaxing, And it's location was good for daily trip to Erawan waterfall and to Sai Yok waterfall, there was 7/11 shop near the resort. Only there was no water heater to make tee or coffee in the room.
In general it was a good stay and worth money.
- Janet (8/5): Nice hotel next to the river - Very helpful staff. Pool is good. Food in restaurant and breakfast very good. No tea/coffee in the room. Found it a bit out of the way but two free buses into the city and pay for your return.
- Robert (10/5): Most inviting hotel I've stayed at in Thailand. - This is a lovely riverfront property. Wander the beautifully landscaped grounds to the large and inviting pool, spa, riverside restaurant and bar. Best breakfast spread I've seen in Thailand.
- carl travellover (10/5): Fantastic hotel - A perfect hotel for a very good price,a little dream.Very very clean in nice surroundings, fantastic pool and a very good restaurant.
