Guest Reviews
- Anna (1/5): I arrived and despite having a reservation they did not have a room. The man at the desk did call around for a hotel wit -
- Shadonna (10/5): -
- Tim (7/5): Good, just the hot water or lack there of. - Location Not very hot water, Luke warm only
- Phillip (8/5): -
- Crabtree (8/5): -
- Amanda (7/5): It was ok the room was decent - The little kitchen They staff was akward
- Gelcira (10/5): Enjoyable - Clean room and friendly staff!
- Timothy (10/5): - .
- Richard and Diane (10/5): - It's a beautiful hotel and even has kitchenette in the room. Parking is limited though. They have an agreement with a neighboring motel for overflow parking though.
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Robertajo (2/5): - We gave Candlewood more chances than they deserved. In 4 reservations there, (two trips a few years apart) they got our prepaid reservation right. The first time, we got the right room, but the stove didn't work. They sent us to another room that was 1/2 the size without adequate sleeping arrangements. We cooked dinner in that suite - had to clean it and then went through the halls with our dinner to go back to the first room to eat and sleep.
Yet, we decide to give them another chance one this trip. Sorry to say it was no better.
On this trip, both times we arrived to check in with our prepaid reservation, they didn't have an appropriate room for us and there was nowhere for us to sleep. We ended up scrambling to find a room in another hotel. They only refunded ONE night of our reservation. (we paid for two in total this trip) The desk clerk was unwilling to spend 2 minutes on a computer so we Might be able to get our money back on the second night.
The experience they put us through is definitely not what Anyone would want to ruin their vacation with.
- Josie (3/5): Had high hopes for as much as I paid to stay for a few hours to sleep but wouldn’t do it again until they changed their - The man who checked me in was very friendly and helpful as we were late checking in due to traffic. Key cards didn’t work properly. Had to get them fixed twice, kitchen was dirty with used dishes and utensils, there was literally no parking. I had to pay the Hilton a few doors down to park there. As well as the cleaning staff the next morning literally cussed me out and argued with me because I forgot one thing in my room and had to go back in for it.
- Karen (2/5): Poor service - Location Not able to get into room. Mechanical issue. Allegedly, the entire hotel sold out no other rooms available. Have to request help anytime needing to enter room.
Next day, the checkout clerk says lock worked fine yesterday. No apologies, no help. Poor customer service.
Says we need to contact Booking.com with our issue, not the hotel.
Will not return or recommend.
- Michael (2/5): - Very displeased , booked for 2 nights was in the room for 5 minutes and asked for a refund which was not granted had to leave and go to another hotel. Very dirty , bathroom full of mold. I do not recommend
- Alexandria (2/5): - Said there was a pool did not have one
- 560reesen (2/5): Thieves - Got double charged for the room, management of the hotel is ignoring me, and ignoring the cases I’ve sent through their corporate line.
Was told the second room charge was an “authorization debit” that would fall off after I checked out. I am now out 882.94 since the charge showed up in the middle of my trip causing overdraft fees.
Absolute crooks.
- Susan (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and will stay here again next year. - The hotel is very comfortable, it's in a good location for our needs. The kitchen was well equipted. The wifi was very good. The only negatives were the outside grill wasn't working, and someone put shampoo in the conditioner bottle in the shower, but it wasn't a big deal once we realize it.
- Heather (10/5): - i liked the
- Dawn (2/5): - Staff were not friendly & did not prioritize the fact that our room had a NONWORKING TOILET! It did not flush & water ran continuously. After 2 calls to the front desk hours apart & nothing being done, I called IHG and notified Expedia. They moved us to another room that was already occupied, as evidenced by the man sleeping in the bed upon us opening the room door. Staff response to situation was ridiculous! We sat in lobby with our things for an hour until they
finally cleaned another room for us. All the while we missed some of the wedding events that we were in town for and spent so much money on. I was so upset. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
- Jon (8/5): - I had a very nice stay. The front desk staff were all very nice
- Yvette (4/5): - The hotel didn’t have a room available for me when I arrived so they had to find a room. They tried to say that I didn’t place an order for a room for 2 people. Then during the stay the power went out and my Mom who is handicapped had to walk down 4 floors.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff checking in was friendly. One of our rooms was dirty and smelled of string cleaning solution. Had to open a broken window to get the smell down.
- Leslie (8/5): Comfortable stay - Comfortable stay and convenient location. Printer wasn’t hooked up to computer so I wasn’t able to print out boarding pass. Not a big deal. Nice to have a kitchen. Nice accepting pets.
- Temika (5/5): Passable -
- Andrea (1/5): just all around bad experience - really nothing I ordered double queen beds I got a king bed I ordered it because it had you know high ratings and just be a clean facilities and a pool and we got none of that dirty facilities no pool I mean really nothing nothing they say you can use their washers ordner dryers but didn't even offer you to be able to buy the soap powder and stuff they didn't they were out everything that you wanted they did not have
- Gina (6/5): - A/C, heating unit in my room wasn’t working at all. Room was very noisy as it was right next a main road and interstate. Difficult to sleep. Maybe if I had a working HVAC unit I wouldn’t have noticed it as much. Rooms are dated. Especially for the price. Room was very clean. Staff very professional and friendly. Parking was convenient.
- Donna (10/5): - Everything was great!
- Xander (10/5): Great stay, would recommend, could improve slightly. - Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were a good size, and the appliances were extremely helpful for an extended stay. The room could have been cleaner. It seemed to have been hastily wiped over. Predominantly, the cleanliness of the floors as well as accumulated dust in flat lying areas.
- Pamela (6/5): It worked - Beds were comfortable Booked a king got two queens. Some of the furniture needs replaced. Chair was tattered.Tv screen was dark. Just outdated.
- Michael (10/5): Home away from home - Excellent and very helpful staff. Good size room with everything you could need.
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Donna (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Great stay - Location was great and very clean hotel room I liked it all
- Boy (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and nice people
- Boy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debra (8/5): Friendly staff, clean and comfortable accomodation - The room booked was not available at check-in due to the hotel having had to move another guest. The gal at the front desk was super friendly, apologetic, and set us up with another equally acceptable room. She, and the clerk on duty at check-out in the morning were very pleasant and efficient in their role. Room was very clean and comfortable. We were disappointed the coffee service in lobby in the morning was not available as the machine was out of order. We would stay again.
- Tigist (10/5): 10/10 experience . I definitely Recommend - Friendly well mannered staff. Super nice and clean hotel . Nothing . My experience was excellent
- Shelly (10/5): - Super clean. Quiet. Great location.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tyra (9/5): Superb -
- Anne-marie (10/5): The GM Priyanka Nair went above and beyond for me during my stay. Thank you Candlewood - There was no breakfast with this hotel. The location is perfect for me as I don’t drive in the USA. So everything i need is in walking distance The TV needs updating
- Jeremy (6/5): Slow deterioration of what was obviously once a much nicer place. - Nice location. Overall (surface)cleaning was okay. HVAC worked well and curtains closed completely. Like having a kitchenette. Check in was simple. Bed and pillows were comfortable I believe this hotel was once a much nicer place to stay. Maybe new management or new owner. I get the impression there is an effort to get as much profit as possible for the least amount of expenditure. Very dirty carpets, walls peeling and dirty, black around the seams of the tub, desk chair that should have been thrown out a long time ago, broken floor tiles. Shower head replaced recently with a water saver. Horrible coffee! It looks like breakfast my have once been served but in it’s place was a room that was poorly stocked with expensive food items. There is a notice in the elevator advising you that room service is every seven days. If you need clean towels or linens you must bring your soiled items to the front desk for exchange. It is stated this is done to improve privacy and help the environment. While there is a chance this policy was listed somewhere in the booking process I did not observe it and don’t believe it is there. I believe this policy actually exists to minimize staffing which would then lead to greater profit. Very ingenious having you clean and maintain your own room. Please note; I don’t think the condition of the hotel is a reflection on the housekeeping staff. I suspect the hotel hires minimal staff and they do as well as they can given the circumstances. Rather, this is a reflection of management.
- Terry (5/5): It was meh - Friendly front desk staff Paid for a king bed and was given a full/queen
Room smelled like stale smoke
- Wordmomma (6/5): Pleasant - The people were very friendly, it was easy to get to, and the bed was comfortable. There was a really powerful air freshener -- or maybe fabric softener -- smell that I was allergic to, so my eyes were are red and gunky, and I was all stuffed up. The shower head was gross! It was covered in black, slimy mold.
- Donavan (10/5): - Clean and friendly service
- ROBERT (10/5): - Awesome all around!!
- Megan (6/5): - This is a fine place to stay but I was surprised by the question “why do you need a place to stay tonight?” asked by the front desk.
- Agar (10/5): - Would recommend
- Terry (9/5): Nice room and convenient - Convenient and clean. We were given a room with kitchenette which was nice but we didn't need it for our overnight stay. No breakfast but we knew that. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Good place to stay if you dont care about security - Front desk was very helpful. However, was charged for a nights stay even though the locks to the room didnt work and we left after 4 hours when we found out. We had to leave due to no security to our room. Could push the door right open. The hotel knows this is an issue. Stay away if possible.
- Susan (10/5): Our stay was very comfortable and the staff was friendly. - It was in a great location for what we needed and the hotel is very comfortable.
- Audwynn (8/5): - There where a few cosmetic issues in my room ( porcelain lid to the toilet tank had a large chunk out of it exposing the water in the refill tank) but nothing that I would say that would prevent me from staying here again. The property was clean safe and easy to get to. The front desk staff were both excellent! And my bed was very comfortable and my stay was extremely quiet.
- Jon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Benjamin (10/5): - No
- Brenda (10/5): Overnight stay. - Loved the recliner in the room. Very comfortable. Working Air Conditioning is a big plus for me. Very friendly staff. Loved everything about it. Perfect for 2 handicapped people. Will definitely pick this place if we stay in the area again. There really wasn't anything I didn't like.
- JasonTzzz (8/5): Very good value - The hotel is located near a plethora of hotels, chain restaurants, big box retailers, and movie theatre. The hotel has a 24/7 front desk, 24/7 laundromat and clean rooms with a full kitchen. Every TV still has a DVD player. Not the latest hotel but still in perfectly good shape.
- dedyis (10/5): Huge bed room. - Excellent... I come to room, so huge...
Cooking stuffs are so complete and we can cook small things in the room. Parking is excellent too. Location is in the center of anything, can buy meals easily. Staffs are very friendly too. Lobby is huge and we use lobby for discussion too.
- Damian (10/5): - Overall the property and rooms were nice, a lot of food options close by.
Only dislike was the cardio machines in the workout room did not function properly when we tried to use them but overall a nice workout area.
- Stazzone (3/5): Poor - The person at the front desk No hot water and my toilet would not flush and ran all night
- John (7/5): It was good - There wasn’t any breakfast Breakfast
- Tonya (2/5): - Would have stayed lady on the phone no name told me they accepted cash. When I drive there ready to pay for room was told they did not accept cash. Had to find another hotel. Very disappointing
- Verified traveler (6/5): Budget friendly but could use some work - Sometimes no hot water in the morning or at night. Roach was waiting outside our door. Insect on pillow when we got there. House keepers only come every 7 days so basically if you’re there for less than that you won’t see a house keeper and no they won’t even take the trash outside your door. Staff was friendly though. Free laundry and gym. Price was good for the stay but could fix some the above would be great.
- Lewis (7/5): Good -
- Anne-marie (10/5): Loved it - Location, staff are always amazing It's looking a little tired, could do with a little Tlc
- Dana (6/5): - Waited 10 minutes at desk. Guy walks up says name and never said another word until he said "elevator is that way. Shoved a paper at me and never said anything so I filled it out. The hotel was very quiet and it was clean.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Brenda (10/5): Worth the stay - The room was nice and clean. Comfortable beds, the air conditioner worked properly which is very important to me. The staff was kind and friendly and went above and beyond trying to find us a shower seat. It was a wonderful stay and we will be back. Highly recommended. The floor in the bathroom was a bit slick when using a cane. It tended to slide. For a disability room, the shower was a bit small, well actually the bathroom was a bit small, but we managed.
- Amanda (1/5): We got to hotel and check in was not easy then we go to our rooms keys didn’t work. Went back down got new keys and went - Nothing The rooms they gave us keys for were occupied !
- Roberta (6/5): Pleasant - Old
- Tim (6/5): - The front desk attendant at check in was very polite and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was on the 4th floor so it was quiet. Not sure if it was because I was on the 4th floor towards the end but had cold showers every morning for the first 3. The front desk attended said to let the hot water run for 15 min in the morning before getting in the shower. That helped but wound up turning on the shower, the bathroom faucet and the kitchen faucet and got hot water after about 10-15 minutes. Stayed 11 nights. Was told when I checked in that seeing that I was staying so long housekeeping would not come until the 7th day but if I needed fresh linens to go to the front desk. Was there 11 nights never received housekeeping services. Being there 11 nights it was nice ti be able to cook dinner every night and not have to eat out every meal. I would stay there again but it wouldn’t take much effort on there part to make the experience better.
- Melanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- JasonTzzz (10/5): Very good hotel - The room is very spacious and has a fully stocked kitchen with a full-sized fridge/ freezer. Bed is comfortable, blackout blinds are effective, AC is very good, and the bathrooms are okay. The front desk is there 24/7. Located amongst various strip malls of suburban Columbus. Pretty clean too.
The Fitness center equipment is kind of old and limited. The laundry machines are free but they charge $4 for detergent boxes in the convenience store. Those are the only things I'd improve.
- JackieC270 (10/5): VERT nice - Wonderful! The room was very nice, the bed and pillows were comfy. The shower was amazing - hot and strong, but adjustable. Pet friendly, which was a must. So glad so see other guests picked up after the pets too. Close to lots of eateries.
If you drive and eat at Roosters, which we enjoyed, TURN at White Castle. We missed the sign and it took 10 minutes to get back via 2 interstates and Hwy 23!
- Kaleb (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Kollyan (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (6/5): - When I checked in there was nobody that could speak English at the desk. I waited at least 5 minutes before someone came in that could handle getting me checked in.
Also there apparently rooms are not made up every day (they said weekly)_ I either missed this notice when making my reservation or Expedia did not show this in the listing. Had I undersatood this I would have made another choice.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - Parking is very tight, and you’ll be out of luck if you’re towing anything like a Uhaul or camper. There are no side streets to park on so you run the risk of being towed when forced to park in neighboring lots.
- Weston (10/5): - Parking spaces are wide but not enough. During my stay I was moved rooms. AC was not working, spoke to clerk and manager but it was never fixed
- Stanley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (2/5): - We showed up with a confirmed stay and they told us we had no room We will never stay at one of your hotels again!
- Morrow (9/5): Nice comfortable place to stay - It had a full kitchen microwave small stove dishwasher very nice We had to change rooms twice
- Anonymous (10/5): I was very satisfied with my stay and I would recommend. - Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Kitchen area was very convenient. Bathroom was spacious. It would have been nice to have had a Keurig. More coffee available in room.
- Cchs95 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucile (4/5): - I got a call just before arriving, letting me know they didn't have a room like I booked and offering me a queen single bed room with a pull out couch. We called a competitor and stayed there. I would have liked a more helpful option from this hotel (couldn't they have helped us find a room elsewhere? What about you, Expedia? Couldn't you have helped?
- Antonio (10/5): - Everything was GREAT !!
- Zane (2/5): Very poor -
- Yadira (10/5): Exceptional -
- Evan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (3/5): Poor -
- David (10/5): overall satisfied - everything nothing
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything pleasing except toilet tank valve sticking open
- Kevin (6/5): - Flap on toilet keep staying open. Fan in bathroom was not working. Outlet outside door was sticking out a half inch away from wall on a corner.
- Renee (10/5): Impressive - I couldn't find anything wrong! Immediately walking in it smelled so fresh and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Zero: bugs, dust, hairs, weird smells, noise. The water pressure was strong.
- Corey (2/5): Horrible stay - There was no parking so I had to go and find open parking in the surrounding hotel.
When I went to go to bed I pulled back the sheets and there was a bug crawling around and half the bed was covered in black droppings , I looked in the pillows and there were dead bugs and the same black droppings. I called the front desk and because it was so late house keeping available so he came and brought me new sheets. I had to ask him to help me out then in because I was so exhausted and I had a state board exam the next morning so I could barley help put the covers on.
If it wasn’t so late I would of switched rooms but at that time it was 130 am and I had to leave at super early the next morning.
- Michael (8/5): - East location to dining options and highway. Quiet…comfortable.
- Eleanor (6/5): - Nice suites but no amenities with the hotel. More appropriate for short stay apartments than one night hotel staff. Staff checked us in under the wrong name and was not courteous about the error. No breakfast or pool, many other nice hotel options nearby.
