• keels (8/5): Great jungle experience - Swimming pool with monkeys in the trees... Comfy beds... Attentive staff. Dining experience and the safari was perfect. They went out of their way to try and give us the best safari experience with longer than the expected time out driving. No Aircon... But it's a tent so it's expected but it was hot. A choice for meals would be nice. And toilet available in the main area so you don't have to go back to tent for loo.

• isabelle (3/5): On ne recommande pas - Nous avons apprécié l accueil et la proximité du parc de yala Nous constatons une grande différence entre les photos sur booking et la réalité - tente vieillissante, trou dans les rideaux, pas totalement hermétique. (Cause pluie et bête dans les tentes)- prestation bien inférieur au tarif demandé sans parler de l obligation de prendre un repas sur place 15 usd sur place pour un repas correct mais là encore bien en deçà du prix demandé.

Tents are basic but comfortable and have comfort. The camp is in the jungle and we had a big spider and mouse in our tent which disturbed our sleep. The food is also a bit basic for the price.

• Neha (6/5): A raw jungle stay experience - 1. It is a very raw jungle stay experience 2. The candlelight dinner experience was very nice 3. Kids enjoyed cooking marshmallows on bonfire and eating from the stick 4. The family tent size was very spacious 5. The staff are very helping and courteous . They nicely briefed us about all facilities, timings and activities. They were quick to pick the calls when we needed anything 6. The safari experience is good 1. The tents feel very isolated, the walk from reception to the tent is 5 or more minutes, and walking with kids at night through the dimly lit pathways didnt feel very comfortable. There could be snakes or any other wild animals. Although the staff reassured us that it was completely safe some did also tell that theres been crocodile and even leopard sightings at the campus in the past 2. The tents are wearing out. You can see patches on the roof and on walls. Zip gets stuck at time. And being a canvas tent, it does not provide full isolation. Insects and lizards creep in easily. Providing a mosquito net will be helpful, particularly for families with kids. I couldn’t sleep so well because I had to watch over my kids with wild ants and other insects all around and lizards running over the roof 3. It felt overpriced for the kind of facilities that we had at our disposal 4. You need to rely on your own cellphones for calling the staff from room. And network can be patchy at times. Best will be to communicate everything you need upfront 5. There is no AC. Only stand fans provided in the rooms. It feels very humid and uncomfortable in thetent (in april) as soon as you step outside the range of the stand fan 6. The washrooms are only separated from the room using half curtain. This poses a privacy issue for families with small kids. There could have been a proper canvas partition provided to the washroom as well In spite of all the shortcomings staff do their best to make the stay memorable and as comfortable as possible for guests.

Die Betten für mein Geschmack etwas zu weich. Das Essen am Lagerfeuer und das Frühstück fand ich lecker. Kokosnuss Roti und Kokosnuss Omelett, frischer Früchteteller und Toadt mit Ansnas Marmelade Aufgrund eines Gewitters gab es Stromausfall, ohne Handy wären wir aufgeschmissen gewesen… ständig gingen die Lampen aus. Stand gerade unter der Dusche, plötzlich war alles stockdunkel…

• Niels (6/5): Prachtige locatie en beleving, veel te duur. - Fantastische locatie, hele fijne mensen, mooie tenten, eco faciliteiten, dus niet al te luxe. Game drives vanaf de locatie, super!! Wat wij hebben betaald via Booking is echt uit verhouding met wat andere mensen daar betalen $750 voor 2 nachten, tov $300 bij andere mensen met dezelfde boeking… Complete rip off. Het is ook wel echt heel druk bij de game drives. Dieren worden regelmatig opgejaagd om toeristen te behagen.
• NINGNING (9/5): - 服务还不错，烛光晚餐别有一番滋味。帐篷很大，外帐内账各有一张大床。 预定的时候自己以为营地是在雅拉公园内部，但其实不是。离公园大门还有一定距离。帐篷下如果能打个地基在搭帐篷，那居住的舒适度会得到大大提升，目前帐篷内地面潮湿，淋浴设施因为潮湿有些沉旧。（也许出于对自然的保护，直接搭帐篷）

• jade (7/5): - The staff is lovely and very accommodating. The food is really good so overall it’s a good value for money having meals and safari included. I understand they want to keep the “eco” vibe but when it rains the muddy paths are just too hard. They should consider better paths to the tents and cleaning up the path from spike bushes because constantly we were hitting trees full of thorns and my daughter had a very bad injury on her eye and forehead.

• Josie (7/5): A unique experience glamping in the jungle but very much a commercial operation so be prepared to join the queue. - Unique experience “glamping” near the jungle. The tent accomodation was excellent. We were impressed by the eco-friendly commitment shown by the company. We only stayed one night but it felt like we were on a bit of a tourist conveyer belt. Didn’t really live up the luxurious experience we’re were anticipating. The afternoon and evening “jungle” walks were underwhelming and didn’t feel very authentic. We chose Mahoora as it was so close to Yala National Park with the expectation that we would be at the front of the queue for the early morning safari but as it worked out we were driven 30mins away to Block 5 and ended up arriving with multiple other jeeps from different companies. Overall it was an interesting experience but not one we would do again.

• Claudia (6/5): Great safari, but very poor nights sleep! - Lovely dinner provided under the stars and the safari was great - we saw leopards! I know you’re in the jungle so I expected some insects, but our bed had bed bugs and when we came to sleep at night, huge cockroach on my pillow as well as a few medium sized lizards running around! The tent had two beds so we moved to the other one but I still didn’t sleep a wink! So if you don’t mind some visitors, this place is great for safari! 😂
• Alison (9/5): Great jungle experience - Great experience overall. We were lucky to book an elite tent so it was very spacious and had a bathroom ensuite. We enjoyed the night time jungle noise but other people found it a bit hard to sleep. We had a very knowledgeable guide on our safaris - thank you MJ ! The evening walk was also very lovely and informative. Food was very generous portions. Lunch was much more tasty than dinner. Staff were all very friendly. Evening meal was plentiful but a bit bland compared to the lovely lunch, and the meat was a bit overcooked (the setting was great though). The big glass table in the tent was attractive but a bit of a trip hazard, especially when getting into the tent in the dark, 2 armchairs and a smaller table would be more useful.
• Julia (8/5): Camp gut, Safari schlecht - Das Camp war sehr schön. Das Personal auch sehr nett. Die Safaritour war leider sehr schlecht. Der Guide den ich hatte hat sich kein bisschen bemüht. Wir sind oft schnell weitergefahren. Leoparden konnte man tatsächlich sehen laut anderen Touristen, aber diese waren sehr weit weg. Ich selbst hab keine gesehen. Was mich besonders gestört hat, waren die viele Fahrzeuge.. hier gehört definitiv eine Regulation gemacht, auch um die Tierwelt besser zu schützen. ALL in ALL das Camp fand ich sehr schön, man muss sich halt darauf einstellen dass man in der Natur ist und auch spinnen ins Zelt kommen können. Die Safari würde ich mit diesem Guide und der Anzahl an Fahrzeugen nicht mehr machen. Hier kann ich den Bundala Nationalpark empfehlen :)

• Herath (4/5): - Friendly staff. Great location. Lizard. Found in a room at the time of check in. Hot water didn't work in both rooms. We got an alternative family room. It had no wifi. Food was average but not up to the hotel class. Safari ride was only 6.00am to 9.30am. Usually half day ride is 4.30 hours. Guests need to be notified to carry torches at the time of booking. After dinner footpath is not lit.

Bei wilden Insekten im Zelt, mussten wir lange warten, bis jemand gekommen ist, um diese zu entfernen. Wie in der Buchung beschrieben, gehörte ein Nachtspaziergang dazu, welchen wir nicht bekommen haben.

• Roland (7/5): Glamping ervaring midden in de bush! - De locatie is geweldig – midden in de natuur, met het geluid van vogels en dieren om je heen. De tent is ruim, heeft een comfortabel bed en blijft lekker koel dankzij de ventilator. Er worden verschillende activiteiten aangeboden, zoals safari’s en wandelingen in de ochtend, namiddag of zelfs ’s nachts. Alles was goed georganiseerd en de gidsen waren erg deskundig. Het diner bij kaarslicht was sfeervol en gezellig, het eten zelf was oké maar de setting maakte het echt bijzonder. Een unieke plek waar je helemaal tot rust komt en toch van avontuur kunt genieten. Bij het lounge- en eetgedeelte is geen toilet, waardoor je telkens helemaal terug moet lopen naar je tent — erg onpraktisch, zeker ’s avonds. Het diner was op zich prima, maar er was geen keuze in het menu en alles ging erg gehaast; zodra je het voorgerecht op had, stond het hoofdgerecht al voor je neus. Dit gaf weinig rust of beleving tijdens het eten.

• Kilian (7/5): Schön, aber den Preis nicht wert - Cooles Ambiente zum Abendessen mit Feuer, sehr vielfältiges Essen. Es wird sehr viel organisiert, gibt einiges zu machen im Camp. Ruhige Lage, man hört und sieht immer wieder Tiere. Hatten uns von der Lage etwas mehr erhofft, Es liegt am Rand vom Nationalpark, aber rund herum sind Häuser und andere Camps. Und das getaktete Programm hat uns nicht so angesprochen, wir essen gerne wann wir wollen, nicht um punkt 7:30. Ist eher etwas für Leute die gerne einem vorgegebenes Programm folgen und nicht so Freestyle wie wir es gerne haben. Preis Leistung passt auch nicht nach meiner Meinung. Unser Zimmer hat recht gerochen und war extrem heiss.

• Ron (9/5): - Leuk om het een keer mee te maken! Heel erg avontuurlijk! Veel mooie dieren in/om het campeerterrein. Safari was mooi. Alleen de luipaard niet gezien helaas. Avondwandeling en middagwandeling waren super geregeld en daar ook veel mooie dieren kunnen zien! Heerlijk zwembad en de service was goed. De tenten waren echte luxe 🤩

• Raquel (7/5): Wonderful tent in the middle of nature. - The property is a very big place where you can have a nice walk by your one, a few steps from the Yala National Park's border. Our tent, the suite, was very nice! With a very big and comfortable bed, two big fans and a very beautiful decoration. The whole tent was amazing! The entire staff is wonderful, very attentive and polite. We joined the evening's walk with Aruna and it was the best experience. He shared is knowledge with us, showing us many different types of plants, insects and good information. He's an snake's expert so if you like he can show you pictures of him dancing with snakes ;) He's very pleasant and intelligent! It was one of the best things to do at the camp! We also joined the night's safari with Samir, he also hosted the dinner telling us some stories by the bonfire. The dinner was very beautiful, illuminated by moonlight and flames. Magic. We were a little disappointed with the safari. We thought it would be different when we read the description. But at the end it was the same kind of safari. It seemed more like a race. We were chasing the animal, waiting on a long queue just to take the picture. Of our morning's safari we were more running than enjoying the nature. Our guide just nice but he was always talking to us when the jeep moving so it was a little hard to understand him. After our 3 safaris in Sri Lanka we can say sadly that this was the one we liked the least. The dinner was fantastic but the meat was overcooked.

• Denise (6/5): Not highly recommended but was ok - The food was not so good if you order from menu if you could call it a menu chicken sandwich was not good dry tasteless we didn’t eat it and a table of around 10 also ordered the same only one ate it all the rest of us didn’t eat it. Dinner on the other hand was good started with toasting marshmallow over the fire the kids live this. The tent where do you start good size 2 beds 2 fans that do not help in anyway the water is warm with now ice or way to cool it What I found rude was being taken to tent and told to tip the man for taking bags, then going out on safari and told I had to tip. I find it rude being told to do this was constantly being told to tip is not right. The pool water is not clear you can’t see you feet at the bottom even if it looks nice and clear once your in it’s not don’t recommend it. I didn’t like that they asked you to do paper review on the place but we’re watching you when you did it didn’t feel was able to write on it. There is no where to buy bottled cold water and no access to cold water it is just water sitting in the open for heat to get to so in the heat is warm. Think you’re better to stay at a place in town. And this is not my first camp I have grown up camping in tents with less service and enjoyed them more

• Nicolette (8/5): - Very nice tent, we had the family large tent. The beds slept very well, each with a fan. Nice style. Extremely friendly staff, as everywhere in Sri Lanka. Outdoor dinner set-up around fire was beautiful. The food was ok, but we have had better in other places. The safari guide was very knowledgeable!

• Eleanor (8/5): Very good - This place was lovely, a great stop over for a day or two if you are wanting to do a safari in Yala park. The tent is very nice, the beds are comfy. The food left much to be desired. The staff communication wasn't very good before we arrived, we tried to book a transfer with them but they only replied after we had already arrived. It also appears that the "nicer" areas were closed and only the chill out zone open was shared with another camp. I assume this was because it was the off season, but we only discovered the nicer areas because we had an explore beyond our tent. That being said, I'd still recommend a night or two. The safari was good but more expensive than if you book elsewhere.
• Erika (10/5): Wonderful glamping experience - The property is absolutely stunning! Loved the well equipped tents, they are hidden in the jungle and pathways lead up to each of them. At night the oil lamps provide a cozy ambiance. The common areas are lovely and there are many things to spend time with. Mahoora Yala has hands on organising safaris, evening and night walks with professionals who know everything about the plants and animals of the area, no questions remain unanswered! I loved how respectful the camp site to the environment and all its habitats, they truly love what they do and where they do it. The staff was always very kind, accommodating and ready to help with anything. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return! No such a thing!
• Mariana (10/5): Adventurous and comfortable. Unforgettable. - Everything was super nice, great dinner, friendly staff, the safari was great. They had wine and a very nice pool. We had complementary walks. Would definitely recommend. One of a kind experience. We would like to have had more food options, but given that it’s in a remote location we understand resources are a bit limited.
• Nigel (7/5): You might as well stay in a proper building somewhere in the area. That way you’ll get a decent shower at the end of the - Staff were really nice people. Country vibes. Good communal fire in the evening. The evening stroll around the neighbourhood was pleasant. It’s just nothing special. Felt like I could find better value arranging my own safari. BBQ should be buffet style, meat might as well have been cooked in the kitchen.

• Manoha (4/5): Disappointing - Tents are okay, dinner is totally worth it. They organised for us a safari and we saw a leopard, they are to be trusted for this. Except dinner, nothing is worth the price. Don’t pay for night walk, it is literally just a 30 minutes night walk in the camping. Tents are not worth paying 87 euros for a night, which is something we could have pay in European big cities. Breakfast is the most tourist trap thing. It’s okay to pay 15 dollars per person for a dinner, but 10 dollars for fruits and sandwich here is a total steal. Paid 135 euros in total just for one night, dinner and breakfast. You could totally find better deals in Yala.

Our guide led us on an immersive journey through the local wilderness, where we explored the diverse flora and fauna of the region. It was fascinating to learn about the unique plant life, listen to the calls of unfamiliar bird species, and encounter endemic wildlife in its natural habitat. Beyond the safari itself, witnessing the rural landscapes and daily life of the local communities added a deeply enriching cultural dimension to our visit. The accommodations were a perfect blend of comfort and adventure—true "glamping" at its finest. Our tent was well-equipped with everything we needed, from a plush bed to a refreshing shower, ensuring a seamless balance between luxury and the raw beauty of nature. The journey from the southern coast was undoubtedly worthwhile; stepping away from the beaches and surf life to embrace the serenity of the wilderness was a rewarding and unforgettable experience. Mahoora-Yala is more than just a safari—it’s an invitation to connect with nature in an intimate and meaningful way. Wifi signal wasn't great, but who needs it in the wild?
• Zakaria (9/5): Superb - Amazing staff and welcome. Excellent rooms with much more confort then we could have imagined for a place in the limit of the national park. Nice guide for the short night walk (don’t expect too much from it though, it’s 1h walk around the camp) and the next day safari tour. Thank you Samir for the explanations and nice talks!

• Roslyn (10/5): Exceptional - The whole package incl glamping tent & terrific BBQ dinner & 4 hour afternoon game drive which we were lucky to see leopards sloth golden jackals etc. staff were awesome The only thing was that the water supply for the shower/basin was tricky to work out so an explanation would have assisted
• Marian (8/5): Very good - The set up of the tent is beautiful. They've put some thought into decoration and how it's all presented. We had a troop of grey faced langurs that lived near our tent, so that was enjoyable to watch 😍 staff were helpful and friendly. The afternoon stroll was nice enough, nothing magnificent or anything, but it was a good experience because of MJ and his humour and knowledge of the animals. The shower was average and hot water didn't really work. BUT you are camping and our tent was furtherest from the main camp, so maybe that's why. The beds weren't super comfortable, the mattress was a bit thin, as were the pillows. Breakfast was average and dinner was OK but we only stayed 1 night, so it was fine enough.
